I have the jawbone bluetooth headset and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to make the speaker sound come from the headset.....i know if im playing music and I press the button on the headset so I tells me the battery life remaining there will be a brief period of time (few second max) where what im playing will come to the headset, then reverts back to the speakers.....maybe an app, or just playing with the settings?

Pretty sure that the regular Jawbone will not do what you desire. Though the Jawbone Icon and Era will I believe. I know my Motorola Finiti will do it.
It is an icon...i figured there would be an app to hold the connection open from phone to headset so the speakers would play from the icon, or just altering some config files.....how did u get ur to work?

Have you updated your jawbone to a2dp. Its on the mytalk section of Jawbones site. You can also change the voice and the long press app for voice dial and such.

BUt they are using ones without mic, i think.
I got one nice thing (appart from some more) with my X10, it's a cord with only a mic on it and the mic has a regular 3.5 headphone jack for use with whatever headphones or spekars that you'd like, also the mic has an answering button. Should be able to find it at retailers.

Woopz shouldav wrote that i found another way.. that was to use meridian as my music app.. lookz ok, works pretty quick, pauses music when callz arrive and theres option to continue after call endz, ability to create playlists, also has a nice music control widget which mediascape lacks and drainz much less than it an all. Id highly recommend it if you use mediascape alot for music!!
Ps - if it helpz.. i tested mediascape once last week, full volume using earphones, no wifi, 3g, bt or gps.. in 1hr it drained 13%, did the same test next day with meridian app and lost 3%.. did that same test during this week except i accidentally had 3g left on and miracally it used up only 1%!
Hope it helpz!!

I use regular headphones with the X10, when I get a phone call while listening to music, it pauses, lets me answer the call, then resumes when I plug the headphones back in.
Could be another carrier specific thing though, since talking on trains/loud music is not allowed here.
Hmm jus outta curiosity (although i stil prefer meridian) do you straight away put your headphones in after call or take your time?
Ps - did extra test on meridian, same scenario except this time it was for just over 8hrz.. lost 40%!

Does anyone know if the features on my bluetooth headset should work with the music player on my Vibrant? With the default music player all it does is play but i can not control any of the functions (stop/play, skip forward, skip backwards), with mixzing, stop and play work but skip backwards will only restart a song and skip forward wont do anything. I also noticed when i had doubletwist installed it would start automatically playing when i pressed play on the headset no matter if i was using one of the other 2 music players, this also happened with the ear buds that came with the vibrant when i accidently pressed the little answer button on them so I unistalled doubletwist for right now.
My S9's work great. Everything works. There is no lag or skipping on the Vibrant. With my G1,it was almost impossible to use them outdoors.
I've got three different pairs of bluetooth headphones, and they all work as expected w/ my vibrant. The Plantronics Pulsar 590A, Sony DR-BT100CX, and the Motorola S805.
doubleTwist has a setting called "Headset Controls". It sets doubleTwist as the default app for headset controls. I think its on by default. Launch doubleTwist, press menu, tap settings, and uncheck "Headset controls".
so all the functions work for you guys? did you have to do anything other then pair them?
If you haven't, make sure you enable the "Media" profile for the headphone. After pairing, long press your headphones and select "Options". Make sure the "Media" checkbox is checked.
i didnt do that so maybe that is it, ill test it at the gym today
Thanks
Still does not control any functions in the default music player, any suggestions?

Do you have another pair of bluetooth headphones you can test with your phone? We need to cancel out the phone as the problem.

No but my roommate and gf have a captivate and a vibrant so ill try it on there phone
just tried on my roommates captivate, worked perfectly, so any ideas short of resetting the phone as it took me forever to set it up
Yes first pairing took a while for me also.
just tried it on my gfs vibrant, worked perfectly on hers as well, something must be wrong with my phone, time to get a replacement...wonder if i have to go through costco or if i can just go to t-mobile
reformatted the phone and it worked, so then i spent a better part of 2 hrs putting all my apps on and just tried it and it didnt work again! I only installed one music app, tune wiki, that turned out to be the culprit, it basically overrides the buttons on the headset even when its not on, so you just have to turn off the option on it and all works great now
I ride a Kawasaki Ninja, and it's become increasingly difficult to be able to have one ear listening to music lately (using my Vibrant as my MP3 player).
The issue:
While riding at speeds greater than 15-20mph, the button on my wired headset is activated by the wind constantly (both the stock wired headset that came with it, and my new Skull Candy ones). This causes my music to "sputter" the whole time I'm moving. I thought maybe it was just the stock headset, so I went and got a really nice set....and...same problem. Apparently, it has to do with the wind blowing into that mic/button area, and activating the button. Both headests normally work just fine, but that wind is causing an issue when riding...
What I'm looking for:
I'm looking for a way to disable the headset pickup/hangup/play/pause button. At the very least, just the play/pause part of it, but I haven't found any solution yet.
My music randomly pauses for no reason... I think the button is just broken.
I too would like to disable the button.
Bump
Ideas? Anyone? Getting desperate...
Try a diffrent music player, also dig aroung the settings in the app

There's an app called poweramp and it has an option to disable the button (I think) the app can be found in the Vibrant themes n apps thread

Put duct tape over that part of the headset?
Use earphones with no button? Like the ipod ones?
Looking for an actual fix...
Reasoning:
1) Using a headset without a button:
I don't want to have to carry around 2 headsets (one for music, one for phone)2) Using a different app:
I want to be able to use things like Pandora Radio, which only really plays out of one player.3) Duct tape:
I could just as easily pour super-glue into the button cavity...oh, wait...no
Any workaround for this besides downconverting those songs I have a motorola T505 bluetooth fm transmitter. I'm sure its probably just a hardware issue on my T505 but skipping songs is as annoying as converting all those songs. Thank you

This seems to be happening with all my music, but most of/not all the time and not for a long period until recently. Which leads me to believe it's a performance issue somewhere and thinking I either need to try a different music player besides stock...or do something like logcat and try to discover what it is. I've tried many other variables for things which steal memory/CPU and nothing helps. Any tips appreciated! I run rooted stock EC05.
ETA: this happens on both my stereo BT devices, but is worse with the headphones (Sony Ericsson AW600) than the Blackberry Stereo Gateway. I get a skip every few minutes of about 1/2 a second at its most regular. Last time it appeared "fixed" was when I cleared all system caches and rebooted after a batt pull, but it returned again. :-(
Skips happen regardless of bitrate or player with my 2010 Mazda built-in Bluetooth as well. Quite annoying; I haven't narrowed down to whether it is the car or the phone though.
Of course, I get skips and pops using regular wired headphones. I hope we get better audio drivers with the GB update.
On the same boot today as yesterday, problem is temporarily gone. Only thing notable I've done was disabling and restarting BT and I don't know if that actually has any effect. It also never seems to happen while streaming audio or playing with no BT, only while playing it from the memory card using BT. Weird.
Thiss has been happening since I had a moment and I had the same music library and the same songs skip it never happens with tune in either

Just thought I'd chime in on some random recent bluetooth experience. I jog and typically hold my phone in my left hand (I use a Motorola S9 headset). The playback is fine (I use MortPlayer Music). If I move my phone to my right hand I get skips. I swear.... it's weird yet reproducible. ha.
When using my in car T505 I get no skips using any audio app.
I use a T605 in my car as well as T305 earphones. I would rarely hear a pop or skip. Now with ec05, i hear them all the time. really bums me out :'(
JD
I have the same issue. Only happened since i asurion'd my original phone wen it was stolen... used to run eb13without issue, but with ec05 skips all the while

this seems to be a very BIG issue for anyone using bluetooth for music. can anyone confirm if this is present in any of the CM7 alpha builds because that is my only hope left for the epic
When I first got my Epic, my Blueant Q1 headset worked great and when enabled, ALL sounds, even movies, games, music, even basic system sounds would play through the bt headset. Somehow, something got whacked and now all the headset is good for is phone calls. Nothing else will go through, even with the headset turned on first and all, they still go out the speaker. Anyone know how to fix this?
Thx.

Hmmm
I had this problem with my hero. My headphones would connect and be good wit everything, and then randomly nly be good for calls.
Jut keep fiddling with it...eventually it would fix itself in my hero if I kept disconncting/reconnecting/reseting
