timescape just crapped on me

so i was looking at timescape and my twitter updates didn't have a picture, just a blank head exactly like the ones from my contacts.
i thought there was just a small issue. so i delete my twitter account and now i can not sync with my twitter account. this is very weird. i have 2 twitter accounts but my main account (the one i had been using with timescape) does not sync anymore, timescape doesn't even let me set up the account! however, it lets me set up my other twitter account fine.
anyone else got this issue?
i get an "Authentication failed... Connection failed error screen"

This just happened to me now where none if the pictures are loading, and when I click on an article nothing happens. It's beginning to annoy me.

i'm thinking it's twitter's fault but then again why would 1 account work and not the other? doesn't make sense.

lol status.twitter.com just stated that they are having issues. LOL i guess i'm too paranoid with this phone.

anybody see the pictures yet? and i still can't sign on to twitter with timescape...

can't see them yet either

well I still can't login with Twitter. every time I setup Twitter I still get the same error message.

I'm glad its not just me.
I've been trying for about 20 minutes last night. Even reset my password and tried again. Get into Seesmic OK so I've left it a while...
Still no luck yet though

I can't see twitter pics either.
We can exclude the phone bugs now ... pretty much the problem is on twitter side.

so it still available issue. I even formatted thy phone and even repaired it with update service. timescape will not allow me to login. I just hope Twitter didn't change anything and screwed up timescape.

Twitter pictures are back in Timescape.

maybe Twitter is forcing us to use their official app? its been like 24 hrs and I still can't login and still with same error messages

How about facebook, mine cannot update anything...I already reset the phone to factory setting, nothing happen..give me a headache...

It works for me.

timescape should be fine with twitter. but then again, it's only now working for me.

Lost access to GMail

Hey all
I just had a strange problem with my Vibrant. Perhaps someone can help.
I don't know if this is the correct forum to put this in... if not, apologies and feel free to move it.
For the record I am running Vibrant9 on the phone, and everything has been running beautifully for a few weeks.
This morning, in fact, everything was running just fine. Then, all of a sudden, my phone lost all connectivity, both mobile networks and 3G. I rebooted the device, and the mobile network and 3G seemed to come back, but now it will not connect to my google accounts. I get messages saying either the account has changed, or the password is wrong for both accounts.
Web seems to be working over 3G, and I can make calls, but I cannot look up e-mail, and I get notifications saying my google accounts are failing to connect.
I'm not sure how to move forward with this, and I've never seen anything like it. I can log into my google accounts on my PC just fine, so the accounts and the passwords are OK... seems to be the phone.
I will keep looking, but has anyone seen anything like this before ? Anyone have this happen in the last 10 minutes ??
Any help appreciated.

Well I'm facing the same issue. Can't sync my mail, no apps can be.downloaded from market...its a issue.from Google.side I guess.

Until I can get 2.2 installed, I've given up on the existing gmail app that comes with 2.1. The gmail market app that is published recently is only 2.2 compatible. I've been using K9 for both gmail and my imap account and been far more pleased with it.

Really ? That's interesting. So google's mobile connections might be down ?
I can't find anything about that online... anyone else wanna weigh in ? Is this just a problem for every android handset ?
How frustrating.

Are you able to log into gmail on a computer? I had that same message the other day. Wasn't able to connect, my account had changed or password was wrong. Turned out, at 4 am there was spam sent from my gmail to 5 of my contacts. Gmail caught it and made me revise my password. After that, all is back to normal with market, gmail, etc...

Good thought, but I can actually log into gmail from my phones browser just fine with the same address and password.
Still have the same problem. Can log in to my mail using the other android email app. Just not the default app. Market broken, and anything needing that google account.
If others aren't having the problem, then it must be me, but I'm damned if I know what it is.
Might try restoring my nandroid backup.
Any other thoughts?

Hi I just started having the same problem as well. Computer based gmail is working fine, but I can't access my two accounts through the gmail appand my mobile network connection seems to be down.
Edit: mobile network is back, but my accounts still aren't connecting.

Ok I just resolved this problem. Guess how?
I restored the nandroid backup that I took yesterday. Working fine now.
And what has changed since I took this backup? Only that I installed the overclocking kernel released yesterday... Could it be that?

Ok strange new symptom.
My nandroid backup doesn't replace the kernel, so I'm still overclocked and still running the new kernel.
However, since restoring now my google accounts seem to work (market ok, voice ok etc.), I can receive email, but not send it.
This is really troubling. Anyone have any similar problems, or ideas?
EDIT : The kernel I flashed yesterday is "[KERNEL] [2.6.29] [Flashable-.zip] [BFQ] [Oc] [Uv] #1 "Finally" '9.8 Linpack!'", which as far as I can tell is the only difference since this started happening.

Well I'm still facing the same issue. Can't sync my mails, unable to download apps from market and no friendstream either. So whts wrong guys? How should I resolve this? i uninstalled the updates from gmail and somehow it started working for few hrs but now again its dead :/...

Bought my Samsung Vibrant a few days ago and I have not been able to log in to my google account. Due to this I have not been able to use any app or game...

Whatsapp no contacts

I realise whatsapp service (its the service) wont end or stop it will keep cosuming batt life...so the only way is to end it...
Normally after i end the service or restart the phone the contacts will be lost and when i refresh it doesnt help..the only way is to reinstall..the validation of the sms is the only way to bring the contacts back

No problems here whatsoever. Have you tried wiping (dalvik) cache?

So if i understand you right, you force close whatsapp because you believe it drains battery (which it barley does on 2.2 and up) and then complain because the app doesn't work like you expect it to. No wonder that no-one else encountered this.
And did you know that in the whatsapp home screen you can click the upper right corner, hit menu and refresh your contacts?

I noe i read something on 2.2 nt consuming batt life...i realised that under the services if the app is inactive it will go under "cache" bt its still in the active (ok nvm my other apps are also there)...then u went to see the cpu time....the other apps under "active" the time is not ticking but whatsapp is ticking...that made my think it is actively running and therefore consuming batt...
I understand that i can refresh contacts bt it doesnt work..the only thing that work is reinstalling n the sms validation

And logically thinking it must have some service in the background running if not how it knows and notifies users that theres a msg in real time...theres no push or refresh interval

well if your are still having the problem.. :silly: open up your contacts chose a contact which you remember having a whatsapp account.. select send message using whatsapp. Then when the screen comes.. add that person to your existing contacts. Wait for a bit. Now hopefully you get to see all your contacts in whatsapp also. It worked for me :good:

[Q] Accounts disappearing from accounts and sync

Hi all can someone help me with the accounts on my San Francisco Blade running cyanogenmod 7.1. When I add an account it disappears after a few days, the only account that remains is the google account itself. I would like the phone to remember quite a few other accounts such as WhatsApp, Viber, Hotmail, Facebook and Skype. I have experimented with using different profiles but so far no luck at all, cheers.

Do you clear data for the above apps you've mentioned?

Not that I am aware of, I guess I could add an account and then clear the data in order to check this out. Where would I delete data and how could I check to see if this was happening? Thanks for your help.

it is not data and cache mate. I am having the same problem i have had this problem from day one cant find a proper answer to it :/
Apps i have in sync:
1) whatsapp
2) gmail
3) facebook
if i reboot the synced apps disappear from the sync menu and if i reboot my phone the apps will also disappear.
it is an annoying problem and wish i could find the answer to it too mate

after asking a few talented devs that i know in real life i was given a simple solution to try and move the apps to the phone instead of sd card and see if the sync settings will save properly.
Although i am sure that on my testing device (my testng toy) the vodafone 858 smart i keep all apps on the sd card and they sync properly so this could be a device problem or something not 100% sure.

Ok. So did it work? I thought maybe its something to do with Dalvik or Cache.

This is because u have the apps on ur memory card
When the phone boots, it loads the accounts before loading the SD card and since the apps aren't loaded, the accounts disappear.
Move them to phone memory

after leaving the phone on while sleeping like always i woke up rebooted the phone and the sync settings were gone to so leaving them on the phone instead of the s card is not the solution

What do u think? Rom.? Or cache?

Just moved WhatsApp back to the phone, added the account and rebooted and this works, the account is still there, I will now try moving the other apps one by one and report back.

for some reason its working for me to now but i am 100% sure that on my vodafone smart 858 it would sync the apps from the sd card also

I have just moved Hotmail and Facebook back to the phone and rebooted. All accounts are still present in Accounts and Sync settings, thanks for the help people.

great to see that moving the app to phone has also worked for you

Exchange Email Folders Proble

Just got the Note 3 - configured my Exchange account on it. When I try to move a mail to any folder, it starts to load the folder list...hangs and then the email app force closes. Anyone else having this issue? This is a deal breaker for me!!!
Please help.

No problem here I can move mails fine between folders.

I also use 2007...I have many folders...50+...could that be an issue? I am on SM-N900

Hmm I don't think so because i have users in server with many folders also, you manage to connect successfully with any other phone or this your 1st time you are trying to do this?

with my HTC when I try to move a mail from inbox to any folder, the folder list opens instantly.
Was working with GS 4 also.
With Note 3....email app keeps force closing when I try move the mail to a folder

M8 I don't know, if you are routed I would suggest a clear cache and fix permissions.

As I understand you are rooted so if you reboot in cwm you will find there a fix permissions. If this also don't help then I cannot think something else, my mind thinks that 1 folder with strange local letters naming maybe will cause this or a worse scenario is that it doesn't work because you are rooted(I say this because in my rooted note 10.1 no matter what I do I cannot run the s-note but if I uproot it back to stock then s-note works totally fine). I'm thinking for anything else and IL be back.

My school uses Office365 no problems here, I'm guessing you tried with many folders. Did you try to rename one or two and test those out?

TBH the included Exchange client on Android just never cuts it for me. I have tons of sub folders and use Notes in Outlook. I purchased Nitrodesk Touchdown for $25 and it fixes all those issues for me. I believe it's still the ONLY way to sync notes on mobile devices wirelessly to this day. It's a pricey app but if your life revolves around full exchange mobile sync it's the best money you'll spend!
