My friend recently bought an hd mini today, and all seems to be working well - except the sending of sms messages. texts can be received, and phone calls made and received.
I tried installing the Zeynee "disable htc messaging" tweak for manilla 2,5 but it still wouldn't send.
the phone is running manilla 2.5.3, and the offical rom 1.07 WWE. I'm adverse to installing a custom rom on his phone as it could be more trouble than its worth.
he's already been in to the shop where he bought it (network providers shop) but they couldnt find anything amiss in the settings. I compared his settings to that of my hd2 on the same network and it seems in order. there was no entry in the message centre number field, although as stated before texts were arriving. I tried setting it to the same as mine but they just hung in the outbox.
has anyone had a similar problem and knows how to fx it?
network is Sure on the isle of man, if it's any use.
I noticed my mini wouldn't send sms, if the country is entered with two leading zeros "0049...", but sends without trouble, if the number is entered like "+49...", although both ways should work fine

Hi everyone , i have a problem with my ipaq 614c i'm using wm 6.1 here is my problem : when i want to send out a sms it takes around 10 mins and then it displays "Your text message cannot be sent.", but the weird situation is that if i make calls in this period not just 1 call if i talk for 10 mins or if i call and hang up and so on for 10 minutes the sms is sent.I'm using Vodafone RO and the sms service center is set ok.Please Help!!
Same problem here.
MMS sending and SMS-receiving works fine, just as all other services do (email, internet, etc.).
Only sending SMS does not work. Messages remain in the outbox for about 10 minutes and the error message appears.
Have you tried my solution ? making calls in those 10 minutes ?
i need to make like 3 of them to successfully send a sms. Ps. And i believe that all sms that i recive are delayed 20 30 minutes.
I had that problem too, the same with Vodafone RO. Try the sim card in a different phone and if it is working try a factory reset.
My topic is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417783
I believe this problem is caused by having an old SIM card. My Vodafone UK SIM worked fine in my ipaq 6915 (WM5) and in many other phones, but when I got my 614c, it seemed that this model was unable to read the SMSC (short message service delivery centre) number out of the SIM, so SMS messages could not be sent. I found that my SFR (Vodafone France) SIM card worked fine which made me think it must be the Vodafone UK SIM.
When I got a new SIM from Vodafone UK, the problem disappeared.
You can verify whether this is indeed your problem by going to Settings > Phone > Services > Voice Mail and Text Messages > Get Settings. If "Text messages service center" is set to null, or another value that is not correct for your network, you have the same problem as I did. (You will probably find you are unable to set this field manually - it is read from the SIM.)
So i said that if i make calls i can send the sms ..i tried to get the settings i got them and worked but same problems with sending i also tried the factory reset several times nothing as well tnx for suggestions if you have more i will be pleased to try them all.
I just bought my htc HD2 and upgrader to official rom 1.62, i think, released from last january, then i had this bug for sending sms. i upgraded the radio, twice, 2 versions, no way,
used the official rom, then three roms of the best cookers her, thanks to them for all the work
But, no way to send the sms, i receive instead something from my operator telling that i'm using a bad adress, something like that.
I read all around the site, and this seems to affect just some users.
but from another side, someone with the same issue desactivated the sms function with shap's utility, and solved it.
i don't know what to do, please help, is this a hardware issue?
have you tried getting the settings resent from your network provider?
It's not the normal sms bug you have. You have a problem with the settings.
Contact your provider and ask for the sms settings.
Or visit the a shop that have this provider and the HD2 and ask for help.
Thanks for the replay.
When i started with the phone, with Orange france, i think i was able to send some messages. but then i updated to several roms to hope resolve the problem. i'm receiving areplay from the provider just after sending every sms saying 'your message can't be treated else you have no credit, or you use a destination non authorized!!!!"
i cheked the parameter for the server provider, it's ok. nothing wrong on this side. Really strange to buy a handset 550$ and to be without sms function, i regret really having sold the Iphone 3Gs, at least i could do the basic things.
As I wrote, it is NOT the sms bug that is making problems on your phone.
Because with the SMS bug, the SMS never left the phone.
If you get a message from the provider, then it is the provider making problems, not the phone.
So either the telephone nr is wrong, or the settings or some strange thing in the ROM when used with your provider.
I suggest you test with another SIM card. Borrow a SIM card from a friend to test. Test both with the same provider and a different provider just to find out. Also, if you post what provider you use, maybe someone here can help U with correct settings.
But I agree there have been to many bugs on this phone. I had much less problems with the Touch HD, but HD2 is so much faster that i prefer the HD2.
U should also contact your provider with this problem since they are making the problem.
You are right!
Here is what i did.
i have another sim card from another provider, i switched the two sim from the two phones, and when i use the new sim hd2 configure automatically the settings. then i send the message from the HD2 to other handset with the faulty sim-provider-config or whatever. the message is delivered in 2seconds! so definetely strange thing here.
I cheked the setting - number for sms server, it's ok. back with my principal sim on hd2, and again no way to send the sms. really strange!!!
thanks anyway for the good help. i appreciate
sometimes i get my sms late, although it says the exact time the sms was sent, i still recieve it 2 hours later,
when i send an outgoing message, all my sms's come flooding in.. is there a fix for this.. is anyone else experiencing the same prob ??
i am on rom 1.66, official htc
what full rom version you using?
what network you on?
country?
has this been happening long time or recently?
it has been happening recently it was more common before the sms fix, its not all sms's just sometimes, and sometimes i dont recieve the sms at all
i am in uk, on o2 network, using the htc 1.66 rom, the one off the htc website,
i am SO close to selling this and getting an iphone
Give O2 a ring, I had this issue with my Nokia E90, and it turned out to be a corrupt message on their servers.
thanks mate,
dont think its the network mate, gave them a call.. cud it be the htc, becos the sms problems over the past are well known !

its a network problem genrally
delayed sms sound
I have similar problem on htc iolite since the new coocket roo303oom. The message sound is delayed to when i unlock my screen.
Im having exactly the same problem. Im on o2 uk and its really starting to get on my tits.
I sometimes get them an hour or 2 after they are sent, yet they are date stamped with the time they were actually sent. Did you manage to get to the root of the problem? I called o2 weeks ago about it and they just suggested i try a new sim, which they promptly sent me but it has made absolutely no difference. Is this a phone problem or a network problem?
Both of you on O2, I doubt it's got something to do with the phone.
sort of same issue with my HTC HD2 on Voda UK.
MEssages being sent or recived are not arriving on my phone!!
thinking of getting rid of phone now!!
just to annoy you mine works fine on virgin in the uk
Mine works fine on T-Mobile too
SMS delay
could somebody PLEASE find a fix for this !!!,

this is a widespread problem with htc's , if u google , late sms, you wil find, people on all networks are having this problem
i have contacted them and they say it could be the phone
Hi everybody,
I'm still experiencing this problem. That happened after the last ROM upgrade (see attached screenshot for current versions).
The message arrived a couple of hours later. Not it's about 24 hours or I don't receive the messages at all.
This might be a coincidence, but I often was browsing with Opera when the messages finally showed up.
I'm using Zenyee disable htc messaging 1.2 as I'm syncing with an Exchange 2010.
It's definitely not the provider, but the phone. I've put my simcard in a standard cell phone where the messages arrived in an instant.
Anybody got an idea?
It not the network, its a file in HTC phones. I havent been able to figure out what was causing it until now. I am 90% sure I know the culprit, but I am not 100% sure. I am on a TP2 and I just ran across this problem today after I installed a cooked rom I made, before everything was fine. I am in the process of testing this theory out. I should have a better idea by either days end, or at latest by tomorrow. I am testing 3 packages out at the moment to see if my theory is correct.
Will keep you posted.
I have the same problem too or sometimes I only get the text if I unlock the phone then I get 3 texts at once also sending text if it has more then 160 but less than 180 (i think ) then ppl don't seem to get my text weird no lol
I've had this problem in my HTC Trinity...
Fortunately I don't have it in the Leo...
Hi All,
If this is the wrong thread, sorry about that. I'm new to HTC, only had it 3 days. Here's my issue. I can make calls, receive calls and send and receive sms messages.
I have a htc diamond 2 topaz, bought it on ebay from a seller in China.
It's dual sim (so may be a htc clone) but when I phoned service provider to get mms/wap/internet settings it showed up on their system as htc diamond 2. And under the battery it says "Topa 1005vdc" Touch T5388+++ and has htc on the front screen and the back cover. Telstra sent me a message with a passcode, but then no settings came through. The person on the phone gave me the telstra.mms 010.001.001 stuff to input into the connection tabs.
When I try to use the internet explorer I get this pop up "the remote party has ended this connection". I also phoned virgin, and they don't have htc settings to send to me, so they sent me an email with generic instructions. Still no joy.
So in a nutshell, I have this glorious whiz bang phone that doesn't currently do internet, email, or gps navigation . The seller installed the english language, and tom tom mapping, but left out some english for the mms page. I push new mms, and all the choices are little squares (like if you don't install the chinese character pack when internet browsing, the writing? on the page shows as little squares.) So to try and send a picture message, I don't know where the phone number goes, or the title, the right hand side button apparantly leads to the options menu, but again all little squares. I came across the advanced settings (I think) for the mms input values (or something) but nothing I can read.
On a thread somewhere, someone advised someone else to get a htc settings wizard, so I did that. It popped up and said asked if I wanted it to configure the phone. Internet still wouldn't work. So I changed the gprs connection to sim 2, it asked to configure, it did, restarted, I tried internet and still no joy.
Can anyone help me please? Thank you very much in advance,
Jane1

Firstly, I wish to point out that I am posting this more out of curiosity as opposed to seeking assistance!
Secondly, I HAVE read "similar" threads on here, but none were quite the same.
Basically, over the last 48hrs my HD2 stopped sending or receiving SMS or MMS messages.
SMS messages would not send full stop, and if I did get an SMS, it was 2 or 3 days old.
MMS messages would not send at all, but a received message would deliver the header, but would NOT initiate the connection to the Orange UK MMS server.
After many checks of settings, and head scratching as to what changes I had made to my HD2 in the previous day or so, I called Orange Customer Service, (and after spending 45minutes in a queue!) I spoke to someone who could not find anything wrong with the network settings, or my handset - yet the fault persisted.
I tried the SIM card in another phone (my old Touch HD), and what do you know, the SMS/MMS functionality immediately returned with no problems at all. I went back to the HD2, and the problem(s) came back.
I ended up having to Hard Reset my HD2 (after doing a Sprite BackUp!), and all was well. I then reinstated the BackUp - and the problem came straight back - Grrrrr!!
In the end I had to Hard Reset again, and do a full re-install.
So far, all messaging is working fine. (Fingers crossed!)
Now the reason for my post, I was just curious to see how many other HD2/Leo owners have had to resort to this just to be able to send/receive SMS/MMS messages?!? Is this something that I'm going to have to do again!? (I hope not!)

Many people have an issue with MMS.
See this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741179
I and many other users downloaded and installed this cab: HTCMSGCLIENT.0.7.2018.3325.cab
Now I don't have any more issues.
I am running Miri's roms 6.5.x. One of the best chefs for HD2.
