How to Access SD Card on the Legend - Legend General

This might be kind of a noob question, but i´m kinda new at Android phones. Is there a kind of file explorer on the Legend that makes it possible to view the files on my SD Card?

ASTRO will do the trick. From the market btw

Dumb SD card question...

OK... being used to Nokia I just want to double check something before I do it... This is how I would upgrade a memory card on the Nokia.
If I load my SD card into a reader or mount it on my Mac desktop via the USB cable, then copy its contents to a folder... will I be able to just copy the contents back (keeping the directory structure in place) to a new card and everything will work as normal but I get more free space on the new larger capacity card.
I will of course format the new card in the Hero before copying back.
Also, is it OK to rename the card currently in the Hero ?
Its called NO NAME and so is my Windows partition... I get confused Will it confuse the Hero to rename the card ?
cheers
The OS your working on deals with putting the files correctly into the file system of the card so don't worry.
And I wouldn't think the hero should rename the card.
Thx.
And I mean not the Hero renaming the card, me renaming it... will the Hero balk at the name change ?

How to get access to my SD CARD

Hey. Ive installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
on my HD2 and i like it but i dont find a way to get access to my sd card? could it be that i installed the os on the sd or whats the case?
edit: when i activate mass storage i only get a 200mb storage
You've used WP7 before and you never formatted your SD card back to full size. Download this and format your SD card using it. Make sure you backup all the files you want to keep before formatting it.

I am not familiar with this build but if it is like others, are you able to make the phone a disc drive when you plug the data cable in? Or have you tried loading ES File Explorer or Root Explorer off the Market to gain access to the SD card?
with the es file explorer i have access to the sdcard but its only 200mb, when i start the sd formatter he shows me only 200mb which i can format, not the 16gb from the card
Yeah it'll say it has 200mb then format and it should get the rest back for you.
damn, ur right didnt belvied u first, i thought i would format the whole os. i love you thanks
No problem. See my psychic, I knew you had WP7 on your phone. Hit thanks if I helped.

[Q] micro sd partially mounted

Hi guys, i got a problem mounting the microsd on my hd2.
I've seen that the problem is in every rom.
Well.. every android rom tested seem to no recognize the sd... only a Gb of internal storage is founded... but if i open a file manager i can see the sd folder and navigate inside it...
I got an hd2 with android on sd and wp7 nand... and i already tested doing privilege fix... but nothing change.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
You have WP7, which uses part of your SD card as internal storage. Mount it on a computer and use a partition tool. Do you see the rest of the SD card?

OK not to cause confusion here but I think both of the above are slightly wrong. The reason you get 1GB of 'internal' storage on SD ROMs in general is because it uses a file called a data.img which is read by Android as internal storage. You will be able to use a file manager to access the SD card and you'll see all of the music etc which is on your SD card but if you try moving an app to your SD it won't work anymore.
However, I haven't used SD Android in a long time so perhaps wis or hengsheng are right
^He is correct. Internal storage is data.img, and it's usually set to 1GB of size. Your SD card has nothing to do with your internal storage when talking about SD-Android. However, I think you can download another one with a larger size, or just set it to a larger size in the boot up script.
(Either way, make a backup, because I don't think you can "enlarge" a data.img neither can you migrate apps/data from one to another.)

Error when trying to copy files between phone and SD card

I am unable to transfer files from my phone memory to my sd card.
I am also unable to transfer files from my pc to sd card in the phone. I have no issue transferring files from pc to phone memory.
I can view and open files on the sd card and the phone is able to play music and movies stored on the sd card.
Can anyone help me fix this issue?
Thanks!
I don't have such problem at all.
Try different file browsers like ES File Explorer and Astro.
If those do not work, try and factory reset your phone and ask for a replacement if the problem still persists after that.

Does the phone read the sd card? Do you have anything on it to access? If not I would suggest formatting the sd card.

The phone reads all the files on the sd card. I get an error that says Access denied when i copy a file from the phone memory to any folder on the SD card...however I get no error when I copy the files to the root SD card. It's weird...not sure whats going on.
You need to use the stock file manager to copy to the sd card or from the sd to internal as this is a "security feature" since Android lollipop. If you wish to use any other file explorer you MUST be rooted...

I use ES File Explorer and it works - and I won't root until ZTE posts full factory roms for the US version.
I still think there is some issue with the sd card that can be solved by formatting it - if the phone won't move files to it and the pc recognizes the phone but not the sd card how did you get files on it in the first place?

Not true. I just used Solid Explorer to copy files from internal memory to the SD card. There was an extra procedure of selecting the sd card in what looks like the stock storage selection menu thing (that also has Drive, Downloads etc) which was apparently necessary for Solid Explorer to get the necessary permission. Maybe it doesn't work with old file explorer apps that haven't implemented this solution, but it definitely works with Solid Explorer without root.

SD Card Encryption ES File Explorer

Hi,
Hope you are well.
I recently bought this phone however I mistakenly bought the 16gb model. Now I added an SD card in the phone but I can't encrypt any files on my SD Card using ES File Explorer. I have searched and found out many posts related to this as people say android restricted third party apps from gaining full access after Kit Kat. So I wanted to know is there any solution for this to make my SD Card just like the internal storage? Root/Unrooted both solutions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
