32.26.00.24u_4.04.00.03_2 Went back to the old Radio that worked best for me. I was getting terrible speeds with new radio. Now everything is back to normal. That new radio is not compatible for all our phones. I have T-mobile in southern cali area. All I did was flash the radio zip file in recovery and all is back to normal.
Seems like on mine I cant any calls when 3g is enabled (despite getting full reception). Tried both radios in Froyo.. Weird. I'm on Vodafone UK.

It is very noticeable. I was getting a third of the speed on average. With old radio I am back almost to 900 - 1mb. It isn't great but it beats the hell out of 250-300 kbs.
I get 3Mbit up and 2Mbit down with froyo, slightly better than before update.

Vodafone Spain seems to work fine with the new radio, speeds a (a little) bit better now (2.4Mbs down 650Kbs up)

Can you people with the new radio try playing a video? I discovered that I couldn't play any videos after flashing froyo (and thus the new radio). Everything worked fine after I flashed an old radio back.
I was having the same issue with mine. I was used to getting 1 meg down. After the update was only getting about 300kb. I went to network operators and selected Tmobile and as soon as I did, my speeds jumped back up to 1 meg down. Maybe you could try that instead of going back to the old radio.

NO I am happy with my 900 to 1mb. I never had 3G problems before until I upgraded to New radio. If isn't broke don't try to fix it. I'm good. Went back to Gorilla's kernal as well. Everything is back to normal. Now I can actually enjoy Some Froyo. Lol.

I had same problem on one of my favorite local news stations. Went back to old radio now videos are working. Weird. On the new radio I couldn't play the site at all.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I reverted from froyo to cm5.0.7-test3. Interesting to know that this happened on froyo too though.
New radio breaks video playback
I'm experiencing the same problem with the new radio image. Even after reverting back to CM 5.0.7 T3, videos still won't play with the new radio image. I had to flash the old radio image back to get videos playing again.
Can any of the devs try to figure out how can a new radio image break video playback? Cheers.

My videos play fine in youtube. Was that were you were experiencing problems? Also, I have horrible speeds on the new radio as well. like 250kb down and 150up. I know I was getting close to 1mbit before. I'm going to flash the old radio and see if that helps.

Yup, that was one of the problems. Neither gallery nor youtube would play videos. I would either get a "this video cannot be played" dialog, or the phone would hang for a while before I got the forceclose dialog, or the video would "play", but there would only be a single unchanging frame while the audio track played.

yea. no problems playing videos in gallery or youtube. I did flash older radio and am now getting 700+kb down compared to the 250kb on the froyo radio. Weird.
New radio is a beast. In CT I get 3+ MB down and. 2 up. Almost double pre-froyo

Recently i have been getting download speeds of about 13-70kb/s. My upload is fine averaging 800kb/s. This all is really odd since i live in a city and usually get around 1500kb down. I have the 60668 prl and the most recent radio. Im running baked snacks with his 2nd fps fix kernel. I dont see where the problem could be. Please help me out thanks
my old Touch Pro brick would average 120KB/s on 3G (STABLE), and now my Evo is barely doing 5KB/s to 10KB/s (VERY UNSTABLE). those 5 to 10 were what I was getting with 1x with Touch Pro. conslusion = Evo has no EVDO? lol, i know it does but the numbers do make you think. i mean, 5KB/s is friggin 1990's DIAL-UP!
There is something jacked with the Evo radios...
I had Sprint reactivate my Touch Pro 2 and using the exact same Home Agent I got 1600kbps last night on the exact same tower that my Evo got 700 off of.
I have never seen my Evo pass 1Mbps... it hits 950 tops. My Touch Pro 2 will pull up to 2.4 - I've seen it myself.
Oh and the upload on the TP2 was 380 compared to 190 on my Evo.
Something is definitely up...

when doing wired tethering on Touch Pro, i used the HTC USB Modem driver and simply set up a dialup connection in windows through that modem to #777. one trick i found that maximized the speeds was setting maximum bps to 921600bps (900Kbps) in modem configuration. this way i was pulling very stable 110KB/s downloads with very small latencies...
is there such thing for Android that would allow me to use HTC as a modem? not internet sharing, usb nic, but usb MODEM?
I did some tething tests last night, and started out with real downloads at 60k a second. Over time going up to near 300 and stabalizing around 150 when i stopped.

I used to get 150KB/sec or more with Internet Sharing...
From what I've heard/read, it's not the radio itself, but it seems to have to do with the PRI (note: not PRL)... most fully rooted phones end up with 1.34 instead of 1.40 and as of yet no one seems to know how to get it back to 1.40 (other than flashing w/ an official RUU, which un-roots you, and from what I've seen even that doesn't always work)... I personally have not seen any difference in my 3G speeds in my area... my guess is, that just like a PRL, your performance will differ based on your coverage area...

ANYONE that went to the engineering build (read: NAND unlocked) is stuck on the 1.34 PRI until it gets updated or someone patches it somehow.
I'm still in the "it doesn't make a difference and this is all placebo" camp though.
I'm consistently getting between 1.5-2.2mb download speeds with 3g and I'm fully rooted.

Ok, was getting ready to flash a new ROM (ViperROM Trinity), and saw I needed to first flash DK28 modem and PIT(whatever those are?), anyway, installed ODIN, loaded the files like it said (only, it said use modem.bin, all I had was modem.tar, but seemed to work) and now my DATA is super slow. I used to get about 1Mb down and over 600 k up on 3G and 6-8mb down and 1.3mb up on 4G, now I'm getting 60k down and 150k up on 3G and 600k down and 600k up on 4G.
Also, have Signal Status Bar app installed, gives me my dbm for signal, Usually the CDMA and EVDO are about the same, but now I can have good CDMA (-70 or so) but I am only showing -1dbm on EVDO all the time, it never changes.
I have flashed back to stock Eclair, up to the leaked stock Froyo, a rooted stock Froyo, and now using Viper Trinity ROM, nothing seems to help.
I honestly don't know if I was having this problem before I flashed the modem and PIT or not, but nothing I do fixes it. I have been all over the place today traveling as far as 40 miles from home, still same everywhere.
FWIW, I had already upgraded to the leaked stock Froyo ROM before I used ODIN to flash the DK28 modem and PIT, I just didn't realize I didn't need to do that before flashing the ROM since I already had it.
Any ideas out there?
Download the data governor fix from ViperRom's thread. Follow the directions. Just make sure to take it easy on data. Don't constantly download large files.
hm, I'll try this. Ya, my 3g data speeds have gone down to around 20-30 kb/sec on average... You think this might help it?
It doesn't seem like the data problem is a "governing" issue.. But could anyone elaborate on what this actually does, or what the data problem is?

no-- the stuff I'm syncing didn't change before/after flash, but I have most turned off:
Account sync: only Gmail (I do contacts and calendar manually)
No Facebook sync (..but I wonder what the SNS service is).
No twitter syncing.
Google Voice widgetservice and updateservice are the only other extras I can think of.
The last speed test I did, I was able to get over 100kb/s down. The odd thing is, my up speed has stayed the same. Before flashing Viper's fix, my down was about half my up. As of last test, my up is about twice my down kb/s (which seems a little more "normal").

Well, I hate when I struggle with a problem for a day or two, then post the question, then right after wards I figure it out.
That's what happened though. A little bit after I posted the question I tried Update Profile, and that fixed it. Go figure....
Anyhow, I also installed the data governor fix as recommended and it seems to have upped my speeds a bit. I am now getting over 1.2mbs down, and nearly 800k up. Not too bad for 3G. Haven't tested 4G yet....

Will this work on a rooted 2.1 rom?
This is for any Android users on T-mobile uk, have anyone managed to find a build, winmo combo, fix for the data drops on Android for the HD2?? Does such a thing even exist?
After using Android for quite a while now, the internet is so much faster then it is on Winmo BUT it's always been really unreliable. This is the achilles heel of android implementations on the HD2. I have tried absolutely loads of different builds and 'fixes' none of which have worked. I may have a go at using NAND to see if it's any better, but I don't hold my hopes up.
The best I have ever achieved was using MDJ's Froyo Revolution 1.7 build. The data drops occasionally and while it works lasts at most for 20 minutes or so.
I've always used PPP builds but I'm getting desperate now so may go to a RMNET one.
I guess this means that there are no T-mobile UK HD2 owners using Android without data connection problems then

Mind you my data switches between 3G or 3.5 or not with winmo were pretty bad when I tried it.

When I run winmo Chucky ROM I have no data drops but it's noticeable slower. I can live with that however, I just much prefer Android now as an OS.

My small-sized city was fortunate enough to recently get WiMax, (I'm not sure how long we've had it!) With a speed test I scored a 7142kbps download without being in the "best coverage" area. Impressive!
Everything worked great until I tried to stream music from Google Music beta. All my cloud based music was grayed out and when I'd select a song it said "you have to be connected to the internet to play this." (I'm paraphrasing) As soon as I switched off 4G and went back to 3G everything played fine.
Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks for the reply. 4G really isn't needed to stream music anyway but it seems like a hassle to toggle off WiMAX every time I want to listen to music. Maybe Google will fix this soon.
Don't know why we're not seeing the same behavior, but I can stream Music Beta downloads over WiMAX on CM7 nightlies.
Same issue on deck's 2.3.3 (1.0) in LA on wi-max. No google music! So, I guess it's not an ASOP vesus sense thing.
hm. interesting. I got my beta invite two days ago, still uploading music.
so I tried playing some stuff over 4G, and... it sorta worked, stutter city, until it buffered. but it made my phone act Really Weird. unresponsive (even when I had closed the app), restarts, total Sense FC, etc. and yes, I mean ETC. had to totally reboot the phone to get good function back.
that was yesterday, I'll try again today perhaps over 3G only...

OMGB 1.1.2 ROM, aosp here. Seems unlikely it would be a rom issue, no?
I am running 2.3.4 (Deck's latest) and I can stream with no issues on 4g.

Everything else works with 4G on though, web browsing, emails, etc.

I use it every day in the car using 4g, I live in a big city and our 4g coverage is pretty good, works great. Ive used it on stock as well as a few roms.
I'm in San Antonio, and have no issue playing music over a 4G connection. I'm using a stock EVO.

I'm having this problem since I bought the phone, but never bothered me till recently, when I moved in an area where I do not have 4G signal. I made a speed test with my phone next to a S7 edge, I got around 3.5 Mbps download/0.02 Mbps upload, the other phone got 10 Mbps/download with 5 Mbps upload. I tried switching the sim cards and also got the same speeds with my friend's sim card.

What ROM are you using ? Some of the non OOS ROMs have different settings for data.
Also different phones are going to yield different results, my HTC 10 was a lot better than the one plus 5 by some way.
Let us know your set up, see if something stands out.

I also changed my Sim card today, but same result. Facebook photos load very slow, YouTube videos keep buffering.
I tried to eliminate all the variables, testing multiple friends' sim cards of the same provider, but I always have the same slow speed. Before OP5 I had a Meizu Pro 5, never had this kind of problem. I can't think of any other motive except the phone is faulty.

Ah ok, that's odd.
Might be worth checking your access point, make sure it's spot on, there are usually alternative APN's for networks, sometimes the phone will choose one which is not great.
I'm currently not on OOS i'm using an AOSP Rom so haven't got the exact settings you have, but i'd say make sure that network is set to automatic, check the APN (you can google their preferred one) make sure LTE is on and that it's not the only thing that's selected.
Set it to that and give it a reboot.
OOS 4.5.10 with default kernel, is that rooted? Custom rom or stock?

Forgot to mention that 3G is only up to 20mb so it'll never be amazing and of recent times it's got a lot worse, if 4G drops then it's usually quite crap, definitely what it used to be like, my old phones on orange uk were 3G and they always had great speeds, 3G / H from then seemed to be a lot quicker.
Already tried the apn thing. Different apns, network to automatic and things like that. Same speeds.
I know that 3g speeds are not as high as 4g ones, but I repeat, I never had this problem with the old phone.
I have a similar problem: On some places in my small village, the mobile data gets disconnected. I did not have that problem with my old Galaxy S5.
It is quite annoying, I think about switching to a Galaxy S8+, if I cannot solve that problem.
I had LineageOs on S5, now I have OxygenOs. Is it maybe possible, that the problems get solved, when I switch to LineageOs on my Oneplus 5?
I can confirm that there definitely is some sort of problem when it comes to using 3G on this device.
I also experience slow 3G and the internet even cuts out for a few seconds sometimes.
4G works fine on this device and 3G also works fine on my old S4 with the same SIM card. So it's definitely the OnePlus that has an issue.
Let's see if the new 4.5.11 OTA is gonna fix it.
4.5.11 did not fix the problem for me.
Today I installed LineageOS and fortunately, this fixed my problem.
So it seems to be a problem of OxygenOS, not a hardware problem.
I think I will stay in LineageOs for a while until this problem will be fixed. Those many internet disconnects were extremely annoying.

Actually having the same problem, both custom ROMs and stock with locked bootloader. The only custom rom I've had luck with (and it's probably just placebo) is purefusion rom. Rock solid rom in general but 3g seems to be working for me. FYI I'm on 3 in the UK, getting about 12 down on H+ (forced, I get 4G here) and 3/4 signal bars.

I don't think you read the part where I said I was using a custom rom lol. The rom I'm using is an AOSP based rom, not LineageOS based but same effect, it works, where stock would not
Edit: new lineageos builds seem to work, just flashed one on multirom , older ones previously did not.
Yesterday I tried to use 2 sim card in my op5, guess what H+ runs smoothly without any problem. It's been running for 24 hours without any problems, maybe you can try on your op5?

There is also another weird bug with the stock OOS. I use Tidal (for lossless music quality) and OOS can't stream it for ****. All the custom roms i have play streaming lossless tracks straight away, but on OOS (maybe because of signal issues?) it can take anything from 10 seconds, to 3-4 minutes to start playing a track.. and i have unlimited data so i don't see why i should download my tracks when i have unlimited data that never gets capped (up to 2TB)
So, yes, its silly to install a custom rom just for that, but until OOS fixes their issues, its what i've done. The PureFusion rom i'm using is a super fast and stable rom, with OOS camera (not sure about quality, but i dont care) - entire OOS camera works, RAW photos, portrait mode etc and my signal issues are gone on this!

I live in Portugal, and i and my girlfriend have this annoying problem on OP5 Midnight Black and Soft Gold. This is very stupid and make me very very unhappy :crying:
I already change operator and still have same issue. Before, i think that is operator problem, so i change from (NOS) to (MEO) and still the same. Very slow internet on H or H+ and keep freezing with signal max. I will cross fingers and wait for the Oreo Update... If the OnePlus can't fix this problem, i will sell the phone, and will be the last phone i buy to OnePlus. I'm very very mad with this situation!!
