I know I will be getting one.....Tmobile will be pre releasing it for $150 in a couple of weeks. The Xperia X1 has been pushed back. The touch pro looks like its gonna take a while to make it to tmobile. And, I ain't jumpin over to that over priced deathstar for an iphone.

Can someone inform me what the performance benchmarks for android are? i just dont want to see the "vista effect" happen to android platform phones... ie: 3.2ghz with a gig of ram and a gforce 6200 and vista is sluggish... but OH THE UI... ya know?
Any designer can make a cool UI.

The black render is far nicer.. but they are put to shame by the Diamond phones, and tbh.. I like the look of my old Hermes (T mobile colours) more.
I hope the OS is good, the idea of dual booting WM6/7 and Android sounds goood to me.

In black is at least bearable to my eye... Yet, the asymmetric access of the hands when the qwerty is open troubles me a lot. As a previous poster has mentioned, it will probably act more as a barrier for the right hand

So much anticipation all this time for the "Googlephone"/"Dream" and this is the result?
Besides that, I'm not sure any more that Android will be the "open" platform it was advertised to be (my favorite missing API : Bluetooth!). I did put my hopes on google to deliver a popular, true linux (see: open) phone to hack/tweak/extend it in imaginative ways. Ofcourse the future will tell (but I also keep my eyes on http://openmoko.com for a qwerty version of their device).
just my thoughts...

Black does look better, but I'm also hoping the keyboard will tilt.....Or maybe something else will come up before work replaces my Kaiser anyway.

very ugly phone if you ask me - not interested if this is what the hype is really all about...

Not particularly my cup of tea. But it definitely differentiates itself from all the other candybar/slider/flip phones out there, and maybe that's just what Google wants with its very first device.

I am a big fan of the Tattoo for it's compact size and recently came across the following:

Has anyone played with one of these? If so, I'd love to hear your stories as I decided for a chrissie present to myself, I'd buy a knock off phone. Apparently it is in the post and if anyone is interested, I'll set up a blog with unboxing pics and a rundown of the beast that lies within.
From the spec sheet, the obvious omission is GPS but aside from that it is/claims to be almost identical to the Tattoo.
So, once again, if anyone is interested in my little experiment, let me know and i'll keep everyone up to date once/if it arrives

Could be nice to see picture when u get it how its really looks and how it works.
Got an original Tattoo now for 3 months and i like it...
But many friends says to me be aware for fake China models but in the pictures in the link it really looks the same..

So unfortunately my venture into the realm of dodgy chinese knock off goods didn't go to far. I bought the phone, got confirmation and an email saying it had been sent.
Then began the the bait and switch tactic:
Basically the "hot chinese girl" seller claimed the tattoo was very unstable at the moment and offered an "S1" HTC Touch. Effectively, this phone was just a knock off of the original HTC touch.
This where it got interesting. Because the seller had marked the item as sent, I could not just cancel the order. Another series of messages were flicked back and forth between the seller and myself asking him/her (sceptical about her hotness) asking to cancel and the seller stalling. So I raised a "dispute" ticket with the madeinchina guys and they refunded my money the very next day.
So lesson learnt but kind of disappointed i never got my dodgy knock off phone. So as i effectively never lost the original money, I have used this as justification to buy a real tattoo.
I'm sure i'll be back on here a fair bit asking about about the best apps, any tips and tricks but I hope someone finds this amusing to read, as the whole thing was a bit of fun.

Probably flashing this device with an htc rom, it will make it a tattoo easily... but most of the sellers in china are not aware of "flashing" techniques, since they are just the producers of the product... but i'm pretty sure that it is much of a bargain

China Phones Bargain? Yeah right... More like Rip off

Depend where you buy it from... it cost me >$200 my tattoo... maybe in other places cost a lil bit more.

I had a chinese crap copy it had a meltdown actualy it went in to flames. so stay away for the fake ones.
I will never buy a chinese phone again.

Steer away from clones, they are rubbish.. There's a iPhone clone and the iPod clone app on it just makes the phone crash, apparently.

I bought a "cheap" Daxian I909 to play with and
it worked exactly as advertised.It did however have
a problem when I recieved it in that it appeared to
be off frequency on transmit.
After researching RTOS(real time operating system)
which most of the non Windows MTK processors
in Chinese knock offs use,I found out how to get
into the "engineer mode" and manually adjusted the
freqs to suit my area works great now.
Overall it,s a cheap fone but I am still using it
after 6 months.

I signed up to this forum only to express my disappointment towards SE and joined the group of unhappy X2 owners. Thanks everyone who has posted the topics about the problems with X2 so I know that I'm not the only one who felt cheated. We paid the premium price for the phone and I don't mind minor bugs but how do I suppose to rely on this device if it keeps shutting itself down for no reason whatsever after it enters the standby....
Yesterday I reached my phone to take a picture of my friends and found my phone dead... nothing more embarrassing than having to remove the battery, inserted again, asked friends to wait until this piece of crap boots up and ready to take pic.. in.. well.. .4 minutes later????

Wait. Don't forget me. I'm coming.

Spread the word, the faster we get more people the quicker we can get some sort of response from SE.
They have not bothered to even respond to the complaints in their fan page... tsk tsk!

I would love X2 because it's really great,

There is no difference. It is the same device. That's why I am not buying it.
There is still not a single device on the market that has the features of the X1 (keyboard, d-pad, optical mouse, winmo, softbuttons, style and looks and much more). The ones with powerful processors lack some of the features I mentioned and with the heavy customization most of us have done, my X1 can match or even perform better than brand new devices. Nuff said.

yeah, it's the same device. most important thing they've got in common is that they're from SE - which is dead for all time for me when it comes to smartphones. the x1-experience has been enough (drivers, software-support)
(apart from that my x1 is fine, i'm even SoD-free for 3 weeks now... )
you're right about the features though... it's strange that all the "big" phones, no matter what OS, nowadays lack a hw-keyboard. well, i'll find out when i get my desire - maybe soft-kb on a big screen really pleases all needs?

do u see apple,HTC showing that see our iphone4 or htc desire 4..5 whatever can do this now see this our old phone iphone 3gs or desire can not do this....
so all those who got our older phone are bunch of fools coz their phone cant do this...
X10 is indeed one of the powerful machine out there in the market,but highly under rated,and seeing the attitude by SE towards it...it just makes every X10 user what big mistake they did by buying it...

You are honestly trying to say that sony ericsson shouldn't market the fact that their new phones are better then the current one?
so many companies do it. When HD was coming on they were showing quality differences and how bad the old quality is. I guess you'll say how bad they are for that too.
Or how graphics card companies compare new and old generations?
Or cpu manufacturers? Or car makers?
It's not like sony ericsson are the only ones...

I don't think having an upgraded camera is an insult. It's not like the camera sensors are exactly the same. You'd have a point if they were though.

Indeed. It's just strategy marketing just to make ppl buy their latest products. Every company in the world does that, so don't just blame SE.
But now, let's see why all this debating: the X10 isn't old, 'cause it doesn't even have a year since its release and 'cause its hardware specs. still can compete with another phones in the market. The problem is that ppl have the feeling that SE is trying to say "your X10 is old/obsolete/outated, trash it! Take some cash or your credit card and go to your nearest store, or call your service provider and request Arc/Neo/Play right now!".
That's the trouble. It depends of how much we let ourselves to be influenced by this or how we understand the message.

This sounds awesome, they're going all out with this, cant wait to see some hands-on/reviews. Hard to believe, 6GB RAM devices are already starting to surface, when 4GB is still really just begun to appear in the big flagships.

It doesn't have nfc, but still, it's a really impressive device. 5.5" screen and 3500mah battery and it would be my perfect phone!

I'm guessing there will be alot of development on here in terms of custom roms & kernels for this new bad boy ?

It has good hardware at a very convincing price....I am definitely going for it...rest on our awesome xda developers who will anyways develop custom roms for the phone(hopefully it doesnot have bootloader unlocking restrictions like we have in mi 5)...my next phone for sure....

Again this will depend on whether our developers decide to buy this or not. It is without doubt the best specced phone for the price!!!

Just seen this device in an article earlier as well, this is the LITE version!!!?? It seems to be listed on oppomart for pre-order and is running a stock like rom, although the pictures may be just mockups and so I wouldnt rely on them. Theres some serious hardware on offer for a fraction of the money of the big brands. Obviously it probably wont have the same amount of development as the ZUK, but looks to be an impressive device nonetheless.

They are both packing 6GB of RAM as well.

Ah with you buddy! That's a good phone as well!! My only reservation on that one is the processor. Lack of Snapdragon means lack of mods, or so I'm led to believe.

Anyone knows the material of the lens on the backside?
I really don't hope a plastic type at least scratch resistant mineral glass. of course sapphire would be best but i doubt it.

Hello ZUK 2 PRO Fans..
Yes, I just got my ZUK 2 Pro 128GB version phone today.. This device was purchased from ZUK's official website in China.
It doesn't have google play store and services; how do I install all that safely? It has all the typical Chinese apps and it does not have multiple languages other than Chinese & English...
Please HELP!
