I'm not sure if i am in the right thread to put this in but as the title stated I would like one last 1.5 Rom betorr it is dropped completely.
I tried 1.6 but the headphones doesn't work nor does the speaker when on a call. Right now i am using fresh 1.1 Rom and it is very fast and light weight but I was wondering if there was any tweaks or any services or apk thatcan be added or removed to increase performance stability or battery life.
Anyone wants to the resurrect this rom?

Try doing a search for Gumbo 1.5c... I think that has been mentioned as one of the faster 1.5 ROMS.
I don't follow the drama on here, so have no idea what you two are talking about... Just stating that I have seen many talk about how much they like
1.5c.
The fastest 1.5 ROM I had was Fresh 1.1 with gbhil's .31 Gumbo Kernal. That combo is probably faster than some of the 2.1 roms.

Wow, no one gets jokes either.. oh well, yeah I ran Fresh 1.1 w/ gumbo kernel for a while, it was great! I'd go with that if you want 1.5.
How would I put in his kernal in it I am running the fresh Rom and I find it the best one as everything works and it is very stable.
BTW regaw your toolbox is awesome. I would love to give you ideas to improve id you want any and I saw some poeople was posting hate on it. Don't worry about them your toolbox is perfect.
Can I flash a kkernal on a Rom and it will work fine?

Ok I just flashed it with the .31 kernal and I must say this maybe wishful thinking but dam this is fast I will try it out and will see how it performs.

I have been using this fresh 1.1 (1.5 Rom)and .31 kernel all day and I have to say that I am no longer intrested in the evo 4g until my upgrade. My phone idles at 85mb of RAM and I have all my apps installed.
I'm multitasking and I haven't gone less then 50mb of ram so far.
I will put it up to the real test later on this week when I am listening to music, using Google navigation, texting, and on the web at the same time to see how it stands up to the test.
My girlfriend gave me her motorala droid so I will compare the speeds to it to see how it stands up.
I think if we can shave off some things out of it. And try to get it to idle over 100mb it will be very nice.

You called? LOL.
Well, look at pancake 0.1, which is 1.5, or gtalk/email me and I'll make a custom rom ([email protected](I like email because I can make sure that it's answered))
So I install a memory manager and my phone justcrapped out. I went from 80mb free to 25mb free and no matter what settings I change it to it didn't make a diffence. My keyboard started to lag and it was horible.
I uninstalled it and flash over .31 kernal and I was back yo normal lol

Hey all, I am no whiz. Can someone point me to a basically stock froyo Rom? I am looking for one that already has the Pandora fix, still has a working camera, and will take Google voice actions or has it loaded on the Rom. The last I tried didn't have any of these, and each patch caused something else to go.wrong. ie , camera died with Pandora fix. Never could get Google va to work. Wouldn't let me uninstall 1.6.

I would recommend you to try out these two ROMs, with Sense...Use Fresh (I have the 3.2.0.0 version which you can get by donating) OR a SENSE-LESS (If you prefer ADW or LauncherPro over HTC's Sense) Download the CM6 RC-2.
Why I would recommend the Fresh 3.2.0.0 is because HTC made HUGE improvements with the new kernel (2.5.32.15 G3A8614E), in a way I have noticed big improvements on general video applications (recording, youtube, etc)
Baked snack 100% battery life is over par averaging 12+ daily with continuous use...stability is off the charts and I have never had a issue optional kernels for more life and great support in the thread.

i like the stability and reliability of fresh...
some have said that using fresh's new rom 3.2.00 and the stock kernel is giving them 24+hrs on batt...
i im using netarchy's kernel and i easily get 24+ WITH MEDIUM USAGE..

Baked Snacks is almost always better than Fresh imo. I really can't understand why Fresh is so popular.
what about caulkins rom - im about to jump from fresh to caulkin .. just to try it out
Hey guys sometimes my evo will start to lag really bad and I found the cause to be sense using insane cpu. Does this ever happen to anyone else? I really love sense
and would hate to give it up for this reason. Tired multiple roms and all have this issue. Currently running latest fresh with baked snacks number 5 kernel.

Pro-tip: Rosie (the Sense launcher) sucks ass.
I thought about it being other software but don't see how that can cause sense to take up CPU because I assumed the other programs would see the CPU time instead of sense. It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen occasionally and also if i reboot it seems to fix the problem

Pro-tip: That is an opinion. Not a fact. In fact, it's not even an opinion. It's a false statement. Had you worded it "I do not prefer to use Rosie (the Sense launcher)" it would have been an opinion. Therefore, your post is completely useless.
To the OP, try wiping and starting over. Fresh rom is based off of a later OTA that uses a newer kernel than the baked snack kernels. I would recommend using baked snack 1.7 rom. That is my current favorite Sense rom. Check that out, and pm me if you want it to look like Fresh rom or stock sense

No, Rosie has less features, no customization, and uses more resources than the quality alternatives (ADW and LauncherPro). Those are solid facts, and I stand by my original statement that Rosie blows.
Switched to virus rom with sense currently the problem has gone away.
Problem is returned. Sense is also draining most of my battery according to system monitor. I have tried virus fresh Calkulin and am currently on myn warm twopointtwo.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Probably HTC's shoddy coding. I'm probably going to get flamed by the HTC/Sense fanyboys but AOSP/stock is the only way to go.
Is there a way to get the HTC widgets on a non sense rom? My main reason for not switching over. Im downloading vaelpak as of right now ill try it out and see how it goes.
Cm6 > sense
Cm6 = no 4G.

this may not be a sense vs cm issue at all. It's happening with multiple sense roms, and you use sense widgets. Maybe that's the issue. Don't use the widgets and see if it still happens. Use systempanel and find out what's using the cpu.
Sent from my blah blah blah blah
Edit - try an app called watchdog task manager lite. It can be set to alert you when your cpu usage hits certain levels, and tell you what's causing it.
Why so many cm6 fanbois?

Cm6 is a blazing fast rom....and sense has about 80mb of bloat in their rom. But 4g, hdmi, and fm radio are important features that set our phones apart. I think cyanogen is getting 4g in his area any day now and I think he's going to start working on our phones again. At least I hope.

The HD2 isn't on Sprint and it doesn't run Android natively. Besides, 4G on CM will eventually come and HTC Sense is just too unbearable for me to use.
I've been hearing a lot about a ROM called Baked Snack and have tried to do some research on it to no avail. I would like to know more about the latest version Baked Snack 1.3 but am unable to. Has anyone tried this? How is the battery life/performance?

I'm using it. Works pretty well. Has some issues (what ROM doesn't?). Mostly the Launcher (doesn't matter which launcher) will crash and you have to push the "Force Close" button. It then recovers almost instantly and is fine for awhile again.
Honestly, even though it can run at 1.3GHz and you can surely measure the difference in benchmark, I really don't notice any difference in speed. Maybe some very resource demanding app might be faster on this ROM as compared to the stock ROM, I just didn't notice any lagging on either ROM.
Slingplayer doesn't work just right as often the sound and video isn't synched, but apparently the problem isn't the slower processor speed as the performance is the same at 1.0 and 1.3 GHz.
I must say I'm kinda miffed at Hero (the developer) as he has a website with a forum. You have to donate to gain access to his forum which I have. I cannot get him to respond to my requests to grant access to his forum. I'd consider donating more that the minimum but not until he starts responding and allows me access to his forum.
i used it for a while. its pretty sharp, totally themed with a black/green concept. very fast, snappy ROM. my phone kept freezing when OCed to 1.3 but runs like a champ at 1.2.
i switched to bubs aosp magic 0.4.1 to try out the more stock aosp android feel but kept the baked snack kernel for a while.
i actually then ran some linpack tests and switched to phoenix 1.4.3 to compare and the phoenix just barely edged it out with those tests (also OCed to 1.2) which surprised me!
overall i really liked the baked snack ROM, VVM works fine (doesnt on AOSP ROMs) but it was time to try something else out. i'd give it a shot, i might go back to it at some point it really is a cool ROM.
EDIT: i never had launcher or anything else FC on me, was very stable.
Thanks for the replys, have you noticed anything about battery life? I'm getting currently around 16 hrs with light to moderate use using fluffkernel ver. C.
I'm running a modified version of 1.3 with the mix up kernel. Its the most stable combo I have tried. I got a couple more bus to work out and then I will be releasing my version to the public

Personally, im stable @ 1.3 and if speed is your thing i get an avg of 10.5s on Linpack with the highest being 10.9xx...all in all is pretty good but everyone has there preferences. One more thing i will say, i don't agree without his forum setup/donation but hero has replied fairly quickly to me

Damnn! I think I might stick w/ SRF though only because I like the theme more and I've used it before. (not 1.2, but an older version)
My phone just likes 1.0 more than anything else with the exception of the Vision kernel that borked everyone's phones. Mine included.
I switched back the other day. I like sfr, but figured I would try something new, and went with random rom 2.2 phoenix with genocide 1.0, but kept the eh17 modem. So far so good. Random seems to be set up very good for max battery life. Staying on genocide 1.0 for now, cause after reading through the thread a bit, someone had posted that the rom is pretty much optimized for that kernel. I am, however, looking forward to some sfr 1.3 if it ever drops.

For me the best battery life I have seen is on SRF 1.2 with the twilight kernel. I had nearly four hours of screen on time in like 28 hours.
Best I've ever seen length wise was like 38 hours but screen on time was less than two hours total.
SRF 1.2 is so buttery smooth it seemed like a new phone. Now if I could just get skypes front facing camera to work on Froyo.
Edit: Probably should add I am running JUWE's ram script. I find it easier to deal with and get similar results to V6. Running it at stock speeds so it is undervolted. I have also frozen DRM, SNS, and com.samsung.
I have had no issues now that I cleared all backups reflashed eh17 and eh17 modem and cleared everything before flashing
yes getting to battery, each one is a little different some last a little longer hard core use. to me depends on how many apps you have, where you start actually using phone the most and when not in use, i have settings app and shut down 3g till I need it.
And Everyones Phone is different.
Takes a Little Trying and Finding what Fits You!!!
Thanks everyone. I'm on Urban Regeneration right now and after giving it a daily spin, it seems to be pretty solid.
Hey guys I know this question quite possibly gets asked all of the time. I'm looking for the fastest and most stable rom for my 32b.
Here is what I need to know.
Best rom, radio and spl combo.
I wouldnt mind it being cyanogen based as im a huge fan of the power control widget in the notifications bar and some of the options.
Doesnt matter to me what version is it, as long as its 2.1 or higher. Reason? App compatibility.
So please. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks again and sorry for the "n00b" question.
I just put Frosense by Rushness on and it is the fastest I have ever used. I have ezTerry's non-engineered spl and the alternate radio which gives +14 MB RAM
Sent from my Frosense G1 using xda Premium
I am using Frosense by Rushness & i think it's fastest rom that i ever see!
I actually just installed cyanogenmod 5.0.8 with the 2708+ mod for it and its extremely fast. I'll have to make an nandroid backup and see what frosense is all about.
Anyone know rom witch i can run Angry Birds without "laggs"?
Try an older version. I personally do not play the game or care how it runs. My main concern is how to make my phone run well on a day to day basis.
Cyanogenmod with the 2708 radio, and swapper2 using a 64mb swap partition has proven to be the fastest yet for me. All of my apps work and although i had to downgrade zeam to make it work with Eclair, i'm still happy with it.
everything is snappy. My widgets work just fine and the overall experience and usability of my phone is what i would expect it to be.
I would love a froyo rom and i may try frosense in the future. for now im content with what i have.
Froyo for Trout is very fast.
If your looking for a super fast GB rom use mine. It has 60Mb of free space, aways 20MB or ram free. Look for Nomy's CM7.1 2.3.7 in the Dev fourm. There's no swap,or MTD. It's under 40MB Zipped. Hopefully will be under 40Mb unzipped

Try Cyanogen 5.0.8 2708+
Aleks. Thats what im currently using with the updated biffmod kernel. Works great!
Wondering if the 6.1 2708+ would have the same success plus the little extra i like like notification bar power control and updated zeam by using froyo.
If i could get that and keep the same nice batterylife and speed of 5.0.8 2708+ i would be one happy camper
Still wouldnt mind a froyo+ rom. looks like when it comes to speed and stability its either going to be biffmod or froyobylaszlo. any thoughts?
xtreme-froyo-1.9.5-signed.zip
Google that rom or find Xtreme froyo, this ROM is best 2.2 I've found for G1...The battery drain is okay, in Biff it was faster, and in Ginger the battery was awful. I tried 2.1 ROMs but they seemed sluggish.
Seems everyone likes froyo by laszlo as the best feature/speed/battery balanced rom. does this do better?
never seen it here so i figured i may as well ask.
froyobylaszlo 5.2, spl latest, swap 128 +512 mb ext4 - my option
it seem to be fast!
What kernel? What compcache settings? Etc.
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
Just curious. Since i get great results (performance is satisfactory and battery life is great) with the biffmod kernel over the ezgb kernel in cm5, couldn't the same be said for almost any other rom so long as i use that kernel? The only downside ive had with said kernel is i cannot take 3mp pictures. The camera is sort've crap anyway so i can live with 2mp.
The reason i ask is because i would like to bump it up to froyo but would like comparable performance with about the same battery. Our am i just living a pipe dream?
What I need out of my G1 is battery life. I pretty much use it only for email (wifi and mobile). I've tried pretty much every rom out there for G1, even went all the way back to Donut assuming its battery needs would be minimal. I saw ezTerry's gingerbread and thought, hmm, I'll install it just to see what its like. I assumed it would be very hungry and I'd go back to something lighter. I was very pleasantly surprised.
I've had it running for about a week and a half now. I have wifi on all the time, and the stock email client is setup with a fairly busy exchange server account (push). The gmail client is also setup with my main gmail account.
I am averaging 30 hours like this between charges.
I should say that I do not do alot of voice, perhaps 20-30 minutes per day (on a busy day), so this is strictly an internet device for me, no games, not alot of surfing.
