Please help i beg!! =( htc hd2 dose not boot past start up screen.

HELLO EVERY ONE. I AM REALLY IN BIG TROUBLE. ALL THIS HAPPENED AFTER WHEN I DOWNLOADED A TOOL FROM THE INTERNET EXPLORER. AFTER IT DOWNLOADED THE PHONE FROZE. AND SO I TOOK OF THE BATTERY FOR 3 SECONDS AND PUT IT BACK AGAIN. AND THEN PRESSED THE POWER ON BUTTON. THEN IT LOADS THE HTC BOOTING SCREEN AND WONT PASS IT. PLEASE HELP ME.
I AM USING WINDOWS XP SP2.

Before I put in my two cents.. A word of advice.. Do not write in Caps.. its as if you are yelling at the person reading..
Now to your problem..
I would suggest..
Do a HSPL to a higher version (Would also advice Task 29 format refer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644781)
Install a ROM. and let it boot on its own. Do not press the power button as you mentioned you did..
Let us know..

open active sync (not connected) go to the connections and disable usb connections
put phone in bootloader mode
connect phone to pc phone should say serial then change to usb once connected
if so go ahead use task 29 or mtty then flash a new ROM and a compatible radio
oh yes loose the caps lock matey, and dont leave it 5 mins before replying to you're own post

not strictly true, not all radios work with all roms (should you decide to flash a custom rom)
Allways check whcih roms are/are not compatible.

hello i have downloaded task 29 and now i have run the application task29.exe but the problem is that i am getting error [262]. I have followed the instructions it gave me to do for recovery and tried again but i still keep getting the same error. PLEASE HELP. i really need to fix this phone real soon =/

Have you tried going to htc.com and downloading the latest official rom for your device?

The only way to delete the rom is using task 29.
If you didnt do it, you still can go back to your rom.
Try hard reset your phone.
Turn off the phone. Then press the VOLUME DOWN and VOLUME UP BUTTONS at the same time. While pressing, you now also press the POWER ON BUTTON.
You will go to the white screen and you can follow the on screen instruction.
But remember that this hard reset will restore your phone to factory setting, therefore your data and application will be lost.

i try your way and when it says press VolUp to boot and i press the VolUp it will automatically restart the phone and my screen turn back to the tri-color screen again..thanks for trying to help me doesn't works for me..

No rom, . ROM is built-in.
No ROM you will NOT able to see tri-color

Maybe you bricked your phone

you need to flash stock ROM.
Find your shipped ROM in the HD2 Stock ROM thread for your carrier and try to flash via SD, this will handled whatever problem you ran into and is easier than trying to pinpoint exactly how you got your phone this way.

Mate, I already checked your SN at the HTC Website.
I found that that your HD2 is Hongkong Region.
So, you should go to HTC Website, and Select Country: "Hongkong-English".
Then you can put your SN there. Download the stock rom from there.
Try to reflash that stock rom. Hopefully works

I would contact HTC. I assume you didn't try to flash it or something like that.

[Q] HELP!!! I might have bricked this phone trying to flash a stock rom via SD

Hi all,
I would really appreciate if someone can help me reverse this process. I have an HD2 that i need to restore it back to factory ROM/condition and return it to US T-Mobile. I previously have WP7 on nand, Android on SD, Radio 2.15, with Mgldr 1.13 with HSPL 3.
I followed the procedure for flashing through SD as it will remove the HSPL. So i downloaded the ROM from TmoUS website, renamed the file to LEOIMG.nbh, and put it on a 4gb class 2 (FAT32) card. Enter bootloader mode by holding down volume/power button. Then it said loading and ask if I want to write over the image, select yes ... then it start the process. Though, half way through i receive the error message! Now when i turn the phone on i can't get past the bootloader mode. Just the error message even when I try to flash again via SD (the process doesnt even start - just said "loading" then "not allow" error message). When i get it plugged in to flash via desktop, the device is not recognized by the update utility. I'm not sure what could have gone wrong .. but any help or tips to reverse this process is greatly appreciated.

What does it say in bootloader now?

If i just power it on I get the blank screen that said "error installing rom" with the triangle and the exclamation mark in the middle. If I boot into bootloader mode it will first get to the screen where it said "loading" then shortly it will say "error" and "not allow" then take me back to the bootloader mode. though, I noticed that the SPL is now 3.03 instead of 2.08 .. but other than that, I couldnt find a way to flash it by SD or USB. Any suggestion on this? Thanks for your help Macgnolia!

Sounds like it flashed the correct SPL and may be failing on the ROM flash, it sounds like it may be flashing the correct radio too.
What I would do is keep your phone completely off for about 3 hours, then turn it back on into bootloader, then try the flash again.
It might have some random overheat thing going on or something. Since you're back to stock SPL, go ahead and flash via RUU instead of SD and see if that does anything, it should let you since it's a stock ROM you're flashing.

Yeah I am with Orangekid here it might help to let your HD2 rest for a while so the internal temp is reduced as it my be some kind of freak heat issue right now. The HD2 hates heat incase you did not know this. I would still like to know what the top line of your bootloader says so we will know if you have the right device I.D. and that you are not one of the unlucky people to get a their device I.D. mysteriously screwed up by a stock ROM flash.

I'm at work and can't really play with it but definitely I will try it again jz to see if its the heat issue. Also, you think it could be the issue with the card by any chance? I was reading on flashing with SD and there were some conflicting opinions about the class and format for SD. And this is my wifes hd2 .. she'll probably freak out .. hehehe ... Thanks guys '-)

card shouldn't matter as long as it's 8gb or less from my experience. Once it's off for a few hours just try to reflash stock via RUU and see what happens.
And yeah, go ahead and load up bootloader first to see what the top line says.

I just tested it again .. same problem! at the top right corner it says "RUUNBH" then the series of lines in the red portion of the screen as follows:
PB81120 SS-B3
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
Upgrade ROM code error
Please try again
and if I just power it on it goes to the error message .. then "loading" screen .. then "error" .. then "not allow" .. then back to bootloader mode but the third line now say MicroP-Wrong Platform (0x0)
any suggestion guys??

I thought it might have been that the download rom was corrupted .. went to tmo and download another one .. I tried to flash again .. get from bootloader mode .. then to loading mode .. and just stuck there ..

Have you try with different micro sd card?
battery pin check, whether it is bent.
Battery capacity should at least 50%
Did you rename the RUU_signed.nbh to leoimg.nbh?
When you transfer it to sd card, did you using card reader?
Anything is possible. Please take a look of the above check list

I'd be tempted to try a full change of spl, use hspl4 to drop spl from 3.03.0000 down to 2.08.0000 or 2.10.0000, then try first the 2.13 rom and then the 3.14 rom over USB again.

For some odd reasons, my laptop (win7 ultimate) always seems to have connection issues even with chevron for wp7. I plugged it in to my wife's laptop (vista ultimate) and it connects. I was reading your comment on a similar issue in another thread and along with your suggestion here .. I figured it must be HSPL issue. I first used HSPL4 to reinstall 2.08 and immediately mgldr popped up. Then i flash the Tmo stock ROM over it. Then use HSPL4 to flash over (twice) with 3.03 (the one without the HSPL).
It took away the Energy boot screen, now I'm on 3.14 with 2.15 radio. I checked bootloader and it saids the following:
PB81120 SS-B3
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
Which is a problem because I checked on the refurbished device they sent and it has SPL 2.10. And so, I put HSPL 3.03 back on there to flash via SD again. Now i run into the same problem I orginally did .. about 20% into the update process and it stops and said update error. Could this be something obvious that I'm doing wrong? and also is there a way to get spl 2.10 without SD flash??

Edit: I did it again a couple times via SD and it worked! I checked bootloader and it said spl 2.10 so I guess everything is back to stock now. calm down there champ, you're just using the ROM for the wrong region.
go to the HTC support site and find your correct ROM for your region with your IMEI number and flash it, you don't need a gold card.

thanks for reply I hop you are right but how can I find the correct ROM by my IMEI I saw just the serial number and when I enter my serial number they told me that the ROM is not suitable with my device

Calm down mate
The possible reason is the rom you tried to flash is not the. CORRECT STOCK ROM.
Go to HTC website to download unbranded hd2 rom or go to your carrier website for a branded hd2.
Else, you should check your micro sd condition

Hello, i have HD2 from Europe unbranded and alredy instaled HardSPL cottula.
but i mistake and flash with HD2 T-Mobile US rom - RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship and stuck on 9% with red line.
now i flash other eu rom RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship but always stuck on 9% also tried with other rom same :/
can any body help me, this is software err not hardware right?

hi all , i buy a used HD2 phone it has a logo printed on the top i dnt know weather its Tmobile uk or US how to check about it ..
unfortunately its stucking on Tmobile logo thats Y i need to confirm its country so that i can flash its corrected rom .
1 more thing how to check weather its a 1024 or 512mb phone its not booting only boot-loader can b access ... help from experts are needed

T mobile us (tmous) has green send key red end key and says t mobile under earpiece.
All other hd2 are white keys, and no text under earpiece.

HOW TO CHECK ITS 1024 or 512mb RAM version ??? phone is not booting the windows just Boot-loader can b access

If it has red/green end/call keys then it is a TMOUS HD2 1024.
But to be 100% safe use your devices IMEI to download the ROM, If IMEI is not from a TMOUS then it will be flagged as invalid.

hey i have download the TMobile US Hd2 official rom when i install it the phone vibrates 2 times & loading stuck on 8% what to dooo ???

Did you download ROM using devices IMEI to check ROM correct ?
Sounds like you may have a faulty device, bad blocks or mainboard CPU BGA perhaps.
try cooling device in fridge & then start flashing & have device screen down with fan blowing on it, if gets further flashing then probably bad mainboard CPU BGA .
Do you have screen shot of boot screen so can see if any evidence of HSPL ect.
You could also look at trying to flash ROM from SD card (plenty threads on this technique)

yes i have download the Rom from tmobile website by giving IMIE and still same problem
yesterday i try to install another rom downloaded from net it goes to 19% then stuck and after that my bootloader also showing the message

it has Green Call accept key and red Call reject/power on key so it of 1024mb ram version ??

it is a TMOUS 1024mb as the site accepted your IMEI for ROM download.
I see it has HSPL, you could use the hard SPL toolkit to go to a stock SPL

If you do not want T-Mobile ROM you could try flashing an Energy ROM such as one link below that works on TMOUS HD2s.

i have installed the Energy rom but its still stuck on the Main logo any solution of this problem ??

Try installing Radio linked in my signature & see if boots ok.
You could also try booting without sd card as a wild shot.
Other options are doing a task 29 & flash ROM or doing a SD card flash of TMOUS ROM !

ok let me try by installting the ratio then tell u the result .. is the Android version works on it or i need to install the Win6.5 rom 1st ??

same as you do for complete rom, file nbh is of radio & you run the softwareinstaller.exe & follow screen prompts.

Wait a while &try again if fails or task29 & flash TMOUS ROM via USB or do SD card flash method ..

i try to flash the 2.07 radio it flashed 100% and after that the phone is not botting any more .. whats wrong in it in the energy rom post its written 2.07v is good i flashed it and the phone is dead ?
