Desire can't see ad-hoc connections !!! - Desire Themes and Apps

I get my new Desire at the last 2 week, but today I found this little problem.
Someone can help-me with this problem?
Any app on market?

Yeah this is a limitation of Android 2.1
But there's been talk that this might change with the next release. Expect there the be news about this this week as Google IO starts tomorrow.

Anyone coming to London next week?

Just wondering if anyone from the Legend community is planning on coming to the HTC event in London next week.
Would be a good chance for a developer gathering if anyone can make it

Any wild chance on announcement of Froyo for legend there?
I would if I could. Oh n no its prob HTC desire 2 n z and then windows phone 7...

Venue has only - lets be optimistic - 300 capacity, and there are already over 700 RSVPs...will be packed
Yeah, getting in may be fun. I'm going to make a day of it in London so will have a gander at the venue when I arrive & see if there are any tents
Would hate to not go cus of how many people are on the list & then later find everyone else had the same idea though. Will report back with pics etc if I do manage to get in
unfortunately not, if it were in Oxford however ... Maybe I should mention that to them for their next event...
I'll try and make this, would expect it to be crowded out though.

Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for Desire Z

Seems the Desire HD and Desire Z would be the first phones at the Desire
series which get an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread:
A HTC representative confirmed that the phones would be upgrading to Gingerbread during our natter at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but he wouldn't provide exact dates. We did manage to get HTC's man to say that the first Gingerbread update would be released within a month of the Desire S hitting shop shelves, but then he changed his mind and said it would probably occur within two months.

Desire HD apparently getting theirs OTA now. Surely ours should not be far behind.....Surely?
What it means when ours is released is hopefully rmk40 will release an official virtuous 2.0 rom. It might also move us closer to the point where they release the kernel source and we can start seeing overclocking kernels for Gingerbread sense roms. (and trackpad wake etc)
According to Engadget:
"That just leaves the Desire Z and original Desire, both of which should be joining the party by the end of June. "
So more or less two months later. No matter, maybe they will make even more fixes and changes for us. (Maybe a version of Sense 3.0 for our "weaker" phones - but I doubt that)

The only reason they are saying end of June, is because HTC said it would happen by end of Q2. So it can happen anytime between now and the end of June.
True. But I rather expect the end of June and be surprised than the otherway around

Haha, set you expectations low, and never be disappointed, eh?
Anywhere soon is good for me Even though I'm already using a better ROM than what they'd bring out haha (TrollogenMOD ) Also... It won't take as long as it took my Hero to get 2.1 I bet

This sums up pretty much every expectation in my life lol.
Given the track record with everyone involved regarding prompt releases (Google, T-Mobile), it'll be at least November before it's actually available. How many months were us old Dream users waiting on Cupcake? Donut? Eclair (which turned out to be vaporware for the Dream)?

there is no way it will be november since we already have a leaked version for the stock gingerbread rom and it seems to work perfect... i dont see a reason for it taken to long to be released.

Wow, a lot of G2 owners here that came from the Cliq. I gave my Cliq to my dad after I got the G2. I remember Motorola's definition of "coming soon" for the Eclair update. Lol
Luckily we had developers like J_r0dd and HandlerExploit working on the Cliq back then.

loads of people seem to have sold hd2 but say like a month later they have a hd2 in there hand.. hd2 cannot be beaten untill evo 3d is here... MAYBE
I actually kept my HD2 until now... Been running a Galaxy S2 for a month or so. Still love my HD2. Best phone I've EVER owned.
Don't want the evo 3d, don't see the point of the 3d bit really, I'm holding out for a 1.5 dual core with even more RAM

I'm not actually going for it because of 3d i just like the look of the device its self, still got till next august on me contract so hopefully a better one will appear by then as you said a 1.5 dual core would be nice
I only got rid as I cocked the screen up. Looked at the lg 3d but it should come with free headache pills that's why I went for a dhd build quality like hd2 and same feel. I would have a hd2again dhd is just a hd2 with a 8mp camera really. Oh and dhd runs android native not wm6.5.
So guys I will be seeing you in the following months when I get one back LOL LOL

Exact date of official UPDATE to ICS

I ask from htc and give a exact answer!
please see the attach picture!!
By end of year, so it could be april to December?
Geeeez
Sent from my HTC Desire HD
This makes sense, because all big updates had been around november / december for desire hd. Unfortunately. So rooting and flashing custom roms is only alternative...
Sent from my Smartphone.
By that time I wonder most DHD users have switched to new device having ICS preinstalled. Anyway DHD can get ICS update is a bonus of this 2 years old device. ICS is a little bit too slow to push out. Most software developers have still need more time to release software compatible to ICS.

Look at the positives....if it wasn't for the DEVS on here, we'd be stuck with unrooted stock Roms!!

HTC Desire HD to get the taste of ICS with HTC Sense 3.6. The rollout will begin in the last week of May 2012 starting with Europe.
Last year the passing from froyo to ginger was made in may too.

Said some one in the post! Nice!
there will be small update to ics to fix or add something but that will be the last update to this heroic device! right!
If HTC is feeling charitable we might see a full sense 4.0 ROM

I doubt it, but hey once the kernel 3.0 drivers come, all ics roms should be 100% functional

This guy said last year that the desire hd will recive sense 3.5 instead of 3.0 in the 2.3.5 update...(https://plus.google.com/105502178297258827378/posts/223xUJRxuLr)
I don't think we will see the update until the end of the year, although i hope I'm wrong.
is it only me or does it seem like the picture is photo edited?
you can never trust anything these days
Don't think the pic is edited.
Anyway, time will tell if he is right or not.
I hope we'll get the update asap, but htc doesn't consider it a priority.

Don't worry about that, the internet is a huge vortex of fake celebrity nude pictures, so at least one person is going to having suspicion about the authenticity of your screenshot. I don't think he meant any offence. Now, back on topic. I'm really looking forward to this update, hopefully it will include the new, 40% faster, adreno drives. The lack of developers have come as a shock to he DHD community over the last few days, due to everyone migrating to the HTC 1x. I will start developing for our humble device when this is released. It makes all of our lives easier, I wont have to worry about the camera bug and everything will be working smoothly. I think the wait is worth it guys and gals, just remember, patients is a virtue.

The thing is really interesting...and sad!
In example: i was a galaxy s (sold because i LOVE sense) user and the developers activity around a device older than desire hd was/is totally different: is like if the interest around that device will never die.
I know i'm a bit off topic, but i like to understand this.
Why, by you DHD users, we are left alone by developers?
There is an huge escape from desire hd due to which reason??
I hope the update will include a 2000 mAh battery for DHD
