I was finally able to upgrade a new SX66 from WM2003 to WM6.5 After upgrading my phone when it boots shows the 4 Color Stripes. How am I able to change that when my device does a soft boot or a hard boot....
Any suggestions is well needed
you canĀ“t change the colour-striped bootscreen... on all roms upwards wm 5.0 you have to live with it. many people would like to change their bootscreen - but no one have an idea how to do...
you can't chance this.... is not possible!
EDIT: to late ;-)
Okay I was just checking.... I remember back in 2006 when I had this phone the ROMS that came out had a bootscreen included in the ROM instead of how it is now - when it boots from soft reset or popping the battery back on it comes the 4 color stripes.
After looking at other forums, I realize the screen that I'm trying to replace is the splash screen on the SX66... Is there any creators working on this???
no, like d-two said, it is just not possible.
right, "Splash screen" no problem "boot screen" not possible!!!
Your question was answered multiple times already. No need to triple post (in fact, it is not allowed )

hi guys, first post on here, so go easy on me..heh heh
ive got my SPV M700....locked to ORANGE....and ive flashed it as per instructions with various roms...no probs.
only thing is, now when it reboots, whatever rom i use, i have a couple of issues with the display...
keypad wont show up when i press the "phone" button....all i see is a white screen where the keypad should be.
also, when i apply a theme, i only see the bars at the top and bottom of the screen change colour......not the "wallpaper" or "desktop".
no wallpapers or images i add to the desktop show up....
weird, as everything else works....wi fi, GPS..(dependant on rom used), text messaging, all work..
its just that themes and keypad dont show??
can someone PLEASE help me???
if there is anything i can use to basically wipe the lot off, and start again, il give it a go...even re flashed the original orange rom on here.....and the same thing happens.
when it reboots, the orange screen ...(or whatever rom boot screen i use) flashes up.......then where the green windows screen is supposed to show, i get a white screen, followed by the desktop loading....which is also white.....
Upgrade your hard spl to olipro 1.30, and use mtty to format your ppc, in this way you can have a clean flash of yr rom and avoid issues...
for mtty.exe you can find different topics on xda...
(credit goes to Eliasweb )
that worked!!!
many thanks my friend..much appreciated.
Hello guys,
First of all I'm sorry for creating separated thread with problems, but i want to post them clearly and in one place. I hope that you can help with this, cause I'm trying and trying with many many ways, and nothing works for me . So lets start:
I have succesfully installed Windows XP on my machine. It works perfect.
But there are some problems ofcourse
First of all, the snapvue (I've installed liberated ROM) won't run. Nothing works. There is only black screen and 3G led is blinking. The only way I can run snapvue is to drain battery to 0%, and then plug the adaptor and wait a second. And the only time, that snapcue is starting - its when bios saying that i have 2% battery and it will close in... etc etc. Anyway, for some reason its hanging up after a while. So again - its not working.
I've tried the comonex way many many times with no success. There is only black screen all the time.
And now: I've tried it today again, and when I'm starting mtty, there is no USB anymore.
I've done it before, so please, don't tell me, that I'm not following the instructions .
I don't know what to do. Because of that - there is no sound in Windows, and anyway i need SnapVue side to run some 3G modem .
Now the OS side:
Wlan won't work. When I'm trying to install the driver it says: "Error 10, device can't start" or something like this.
I've tried all the solutions provided here without success. What should i do, and what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.
Cheers,
Chris
SnapVue Side
Did you Hard reseted your snap vue ?
tryed to install HardSPL ?
What about taking out the battery and replug it (dont fire os only snapvue)
Is it working then ?

Hello, for this.. I will keep on cmonex things.
First : are you able to use ECShift.exe ? if yes... try "ECShift.exe -gm" (without quotes) to see if it works (first) and what is the value (0 or 1). If it is 1, you are in the bootloader and need to go out of this using "ECShift.exe -mode0" and then soft-reset snapvue with "ECShift.exe -reset".
You might say that you already do that... maybe yeah. but you need to see exactly why it is black, is it black because of stopping to display, or because it enters bootloaders.... etc..
Second : if you get access to WM, go to the snapvue settings button (if you still have the snapvue today plugin) and go to power -> advanced .. there you should uncheck both if they are checked.. just to try that the issue does not come from there.
Hope it will be better for snapvue side. I let you answer that, and I will see later for the following issues.
I've tested -gm already before and it shows good vaules. But when I'm trying to go to SnapVue Side - there is nothing. Only black screen.
One more thing:
I have HardSPL already,
I've flashed liberated ROM, Flashed gullums ROM, and no go.

well "good" values does not mean anything to me... I guess you mean "0" all the time (because you don't need to go in the bootloader).
and what do you see if you type use the -reset command (with snapvue in mode0) in snapvue? Do you see the HTC screen? (white) or nothing at all.. always black?

Good values means:
When i type -bl, then -gm it shows mode 1,
-mode0 then -gm - shows mode 0...
After reset its always black.
Now I cant run it even on this warning screen
Only 3G icon is blinking. Rest is black like ***hole

clio110 stands for X9500.
you should try a tool in vista which display the WM part... I don't remember the name but I know that there exists at least one. I wish I remember that... grr.. was using it before my touch left me. and this utility allows to have a mouse in WinMob which is pretty nice ^^ (but useless IMO).
I will try to ask cmonex about your issue, but it seems that something is wrong.. but why? "hum"... you should try to flash cmonex's (rom and see what happens... his roms are the most secured and less modified and if it does not work with his rom, then it is coming from something else which might be harder to solve.

Ok, new update: I've managed to flash that rom, but again - black screen always But there is one more thing:
I've run SnapVue (as I stated before - when there is "Battery low, device will turn off in...), and then started Windows - well, i had sound for a second, and I could change between XP and SV, but in a second - black screen again and under XP this message:
You just plugged device into audio jack.
And nothing. Sound is dead and SV side is dead... damn.
try flashing stock 1.30.405 then... I posted that somewhere (do a search for my posts in shift forum)

Thank you for suggestion.
I've done as you stated... but nothing changes. At normal boot (after taking out battery), WInMo side wont work.
Any news in that thread anyone?
Did you check the WM power settings?
Did you check that the WM Advanced Power Settings was not switching the WM side off? Read my last post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=440437
You will need to use the Vista reset SnapVUE utility first to start it up first
*EDIT* Just re-read your first post and saw that you are running XP, oh well - if you can quickly start SnapVUE then check your power settings. Good Luck!
Hi all,
i have a problem with one device here - Orbit II.
It is stuck on booting WM with volume controls on the screen. Usually it's not a big deal and can be solver with HR or by flashing a new rom, but the problem is that i cannot get it to do a HR: white screen with warning appears but when i press send buttong(the green one) - nothing happens, it doesn't react at all.
Ok, i was thinking to flash it, but another problem appeared: i can't enter bootloader(2 softbuttons+reset), same procedure works fine on my own device but this one just reboots and no bootloader...
I'm kinda out of options now.
Any help is appreciated.

press & hold camera button and make soft reset...
Thank you for the answer but i as said in first post, i have tried this, the white screen with the warning appears but pressing Send button does nothing, device does not react to this, so hard reset doesn't happen.
If someone could point to me any other way to enter bootloader - i can work my way from there.
I have also tried MTTY but USB connection doesn't appear in the list(yes, i have killed the activesync processes).
which screen
1st,
2nd, radio protocol version
3rd gif splash
4th wimo load screen
And also what rom have you got on atm.
It is stuck on 4th wimo load screen.
I have no idea about the actual WN version as it's not my device, but i assume it's the original O2 rom since there is still O2 splash screen.

o well then i take its not hard-spl'd in which case i really do not get it, i have got into bootloader at the radio version screen so i dont get this one?? Is it still covered by o2 warrenty, it is 2 yrs long so best bet go to them and see what they say...
Thats if it has no hard-spl... If not take the battery out for a day and see if that brings it back to life, stranger things have happened seen that solve quite a few problems.
Well, device is not mine, a friend asked to look at it. I don't think he got a warranty left.
Well, the thing is, its not a big deal realy, it's not bricked or anything, i just need to get into bootloader, from there i can flash hardspl and the rest from SD... i just haven't seen this thing before... unable to enter the bootloader.
Is there any way to force the device to enter bootloader? I mean other than the standart procedures of Camera+reset?
I think i've seen somewhere a CustomRUU that could do that, even with incomplete WM boot. Like send some commands to the device to enter bootloader.
Does anyone know anything like this?
Hi
I've got a HTC Hermes that won't boot up properly.
I've had a quick search and can't find to find the exact same proble but apologies if this has already been raised.
I previously flashed my T-mobile ROM with RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship.rar.
The problem started when I downloaded a Registry Optimizer from Windows Update. When I started using this my phone was not in airplane mode, and just hangs on the logo screen (this is the gold Tai Edition)
I tried to do a hard reset (this goes to the screen with the four colour bands on it), and then when I reset it again it just switches to the logo screen and stays there. After a while, the screen goes white and stays there
I've got only a basic knowledge of flashing ROMs and when I first flashed my ROM i used Hard SPL and the basic AT&T Windows 6.1 ROM, before using TAI's custom one.
I presume I need to try and re-install the ROM (via the SD card, as Active Sync doesn't recognise the phone)
I was aware of risks whilst using the Registry Optimizer and realise that this is my fault, so I'm not expecting any quick fixes
Would be grateful though if anyone could point me in the right direction, if my phone is recoverable, and not bricked.
Cheers
You flashed a rom for the Kaiser.... You have a Hermes...
Looks like a brick to me....
If you use the sd card method you might be able to fix BUT make sure its a Hermes rom....
Thanks for pointing that out!
I found the thread on how to unbrick a hermes, so should be ok from here..
Hi,
i have searched all the forum... but found nothing helpful.
i want to change the the bootup screen, when i push the softreset button.
on the normal P3450 there is a black screen, showing smart mobility. in my case there is a branding screen.
how can i remove this screen or change it?
nbimg: HTC splash screen tool
This may be of some use, I have a zip (Splash Screen Changer) that I found around here somewhere, I don't know where, and I haven't tested it. I will search around to see if I can get it again, I think it was by dsixda maybe, but I am not too sure.
thank you, but i cant change it with this sort of tool. i think its a part of the rom, maybe embedded....
It is the screen you will see, before you get into the bootloader, not the windows booting screen.

Then you need to re read the thread. It creates a rom update utility to flash only the splash screen. I did this to get rid of the t-mobile splash screen.
