Hi Guys,
My HTC TOUCH HD's backlight turns on everytime I receive a text message, it is really annoying as i sometimes get a message when im out and about with my phone in my pocket or bag, and it starts pressin lots of buttons because the backlight it gets turned on.
Is there any way of changing the settings so that it does not come on when i get a message? it never used to do this until i upgraded the ROM a few days ago.
Thank youuu!
Get HD Tweak, there is a setting which lets you keep the screen turned off when receiving SMS.
linky
Hey, i tried it but theres no setting that does that :s it disables the notification that usually comes up but not the backlight switching on... any other ideas??? :'(
so 'wake up on New SMS' doesn't keep the screen off when you disable it?
woohoo!
OOOOOOOOOOO!!!! its workin now! woohooo! thanks for clarifying! what happened was i installed it and that option was alredy disabled, so enabled it and then disabled it again and then it started working, dno why it didnt work in the first place :s but it works now so its al coooool thanks!!!

hello everyone, quick question
im looking for a locking program that will lock the screen when i press the power button (device goes into standby) and when it wakes up
the default locking program with WM is annoying because you can lock the phone BUT when u get an incoming call or text message, the screen becomes unlocked again and its easy to "answer" it accidently when its in your pocket. this is particularly annoying with text messages, because most of the time i wont even realize i have one and the phone will be awake for hours draining the battery and waiting to be pushed. anyways ive done several searches and come up with the following solutions, none of which work for me
1. S2U2, i dont like it, i tried it, wont use it again
2. SensorLock - An EXCELLENT locker, except it wont work on phones without Accelerometers...works wonderfully on the diamond tho
can anyone suggest something to me
First, set timeout for turning screen off autoamtically. This will solve SMS wakeup problem - screen will turn off automatically after some time.
Next thing, incoming calls - there is great Onyx ROM with Opal's slider - to answer a call, you need to slide your finger from center to left (or to right to ignore it). You can't answer accidentally using it
i appreciate your suggestions but neither works for me
i tried the opal but it didnt work properly, i actually had to hard reset to get rid of it
as for the timeout, it still doesnt solve the problem of the phone becoming ACTIVE as soon as a notification or text message is received
Hi all,
Is there a way to keep turned on the backlight during calls and incoming SMS ?
Thanks.

Same question here. But also I would like to set the unit so that phone button and home button turn it on.
I was going to ask the same question
It's little bit annoying feature.
Anyone knows how to turn it off or disable ?
try this:
\HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\FastDormancyRule
from "1" to "0"
It's stopped mine from switching off backlight when I get through to voicemail, for example. I havent checked if it stays off for any length of time after that.
It didnt work.
To wake up the phone (and turn on the backlight) when we receive an SMS, We have to use Diamon TF3D config ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749 ) to enable the option.

not if its locked by holding down the right hang up key.

this topic has been discussed before:

so far, this method werks but not for long..
method: Settings---> Sounds and Notifications-----> new SMS----> Disable Alert, Vibrator, Falshing Light !!! Basically disable everything and press OK to return to the touch FLO home.
After that, Go again and enable the SMS notification with or without Vibration as you like and it will work !!!
I had the same problem when i used the nueDynamicClock...
Now, it seems to work well (with the version 1.3)

I use S2U2 and don't have this behaviour.
Sorry
Tony
i don't use S2U2 but it's happened to me a few times before. I reset the phone afterwards but every now and again it happens. No fix?
Hi
You may be able to resolve this by using advanced config and setting the "resuming timeout" values under the Power options to around 15 seconds.
What is probably happening is the phone wakes up in unattended mode (it still looks off) and it sends a start vibrate signal, however the phone then goes back to sleep before it has chance to send a vibrate stop signal.

Phil
