I have a quick question guys.
I have an European HD2. I want to flash it to a TMOUS rom. I have HSPL 1.66 installed. Does this needs to be changed to another HSPL?
If I choose to install LEO 2.10 rom or the latest out there, what HSPL do I need to have installed in order not to brick it?
Thanks a lot!

Hi all, I have successfully installed on my HD2 the HSPL and then successfully upgraded the RADIO version to 2.07.51.05,but still keeping the original HTC ROM 1.48.408.1 (71294).
Now, a new original ROM is available from the HTC website which is supposed to install ROM version 1.66.408.1 with RADIO version 2.06.51.07.
My (first) question is: is there any specific procedure I shall follow to install/upgrade my HD2 with the latest HTC ROM now I have the HSPL or simply I can download the file from HTC website and follow the nominal procedure (double-click from PC and then follows the wizard) despite of I have prevsiouly installed on my HD2 the HSPL ?
My (second) question is: let's assume I can install the new HTC original shipped ROM, is the HSPL going to remain installed or it will be instead overwritten so forcing me to re-install the HSPL to be able later on to for example the RADIO bak to 2.07.51.05 as I have now ?
My (Last) question: the HSPL is according to my understanding currently working fine with SPL version 1.42.0000 only; may this new HTC official ROM affect the SPL version so preventing me in the future to install the HSPL, if needed ?
Many, many thanks in advance for your kind support
Cheers,
Max
It doesn't matter whether cooked or stock ROM,
1. just use the normal procedure for updating ANY ROM.
2. Once, HSPL is installed & you install any ROM, it will update everything except SPL.
If the ROM you are using have Radio, it will update the radio also.
3. The SPL in stock ROMs till 1.66 is 1.42 only.
Only the 2.series ROMs seems to have different SPL versions.
Also, if you want to remove HSPL or update SPL(not advised) you need to use storage card flashing method.

If the install as it is, through ActiveSync. remains CotullaHSPL.
La scarichi e la flashi tramite pc! Ho fatto così e mi è rimasto il Bepe & Cotulla HSPL!
Dear all,
thanks a lot to both of you
Hi Dear Guys ,
Is it possible to flash stock rom of different seriel ( Region ) with out doing bepe hspl2 , i mean if i have stock rom with asian wwe and i download eu wwe from official htc site , can i flash that stock shiped eu wwe rom on my asian wwe serial hd2 with out doing any hspl or sspl
Thanks
Wow! Really important indeed!
If you'd have taken the time to read the stickies, you would know that it's not gong to work and you'll get an 'Invalid vendor ID' error message.
Why would you not want to flash HSPL? With HSPL2 available, it's easy to revert to stock SPL and flash a stock ROM, should you need to send your device for repair or anything.
No, you'll need to use either hspl or sspl.
@ tomasz
i was used before kovsky that was my 1st htc brand and its much differ with black stone
Dear Guys ,
according to study , stock spl only revert back by usb method , and my second question , after hspl2 can i use official ruu (htc offcial updater) for updating custom roms ? as i think if i use it to flash i dont need task29 as offcial updater clean even binary files .. any idea ?

HSPL2 can also be used to revert back to stock spl. After installing hspl, the flashing is the same as got the Blackstone, ie run the RUU. Some have used the official RUU instead of the CustomRUU to flash, but I haven't tried it and I just use Task29 prior to flashing. The whole thing from Task29 to installed rom takes only 5 minutes.
@ ClydeB1 Thanks
My stock HSPL is 1.66.0000
i can do any hspl2 version for me ?
You can do anything you want - HSPL2 is used to flash ALL version of HSPL and SPL

As long as you choose one of the spl's ending in HSPL and not 0000 you can flash to any cooked or stock rom. Use HSPL2 again to return to your original spl when needed.
Hey guys,
HTC Hong Kong has released a new WWE ROM.
Has anybody installed this? I have a HD2, Telstra branded, and have the other HK WWE 1.72 ROm working perfectly.
Would I be able to install this or the same SPL, HSPL problems apply.
Download the new ROM here:

First of all thanks fore communication, (but it was communicate already before )
Secondly if you need a download mirror you can find it here.
Thirdly, all Stock Rom versions 3.14 need to be install without HSPL.

Not true,
I had HSPL 2.08 installed when I flashed a stock WWE 3.14 ROM from SD Card. No problems at all. HSPL gets overwritten by default 3.03 SPL then.

I have got a problem. I have managed to changed my stock ROM from 3.14 to 1.66 because i wanted to NAND my Hd2. But the problem is after installing HSPL2 or HSPL 3 and then installing MAGLDR 1.11 i get white screen with HTC logo. I have read somewhere that it doesnt work with 1.66. Because i cannot find any different Stock ROM than 1.66 and 3.14 does it mean i cannot install it at all ? Thanks

keep 3.14 and flash yourself a radio which supports 576 ram (if your recent rom doesnt already contain such radio). the right radios have a .50 in its version
So i install 3.14 with radio .50 then install HSPL 3 ? then MAGLDR 1.11 and thats it ? I can continue NAND my HD2? Thanks for quick replay

i didnt flash a nand rom yet, but i think i read that you should use hspl 2.08.
basically it cant be wrong the way you posted, but check nand threads about proper installation.
i somehow managed to downgrade to 2.08 but it bricked windows. But then MAGLDR started up and i have now got NAND on my HD2. Thanks
Same problem
Hello, I recently got a new hd2 because my old one broke and it has the 3.14 rom preloaded on it, I can't find anywhere to download the older rom so I can load MAGLDR111 to load NAND android, can anyone post a link to older roms for US t-mobile HD2 or is there a work around to install MAGLDR111?
Thanks for quick response

well afaik you do not need to flash anything with t-mobile hd2, you already got a radio version which supports 576mb ram. why should you downgrade to an older winmo rom?
you're ready to go, so you can just go through magldr and android installation
I just bought my HTC HD2 so I'm a newbie so my question is Why is there Hspl1 Hspl2 hspl3 hspl4? what is the need for 4 of them? Can anyone help me with this please.
The phone's BIOS allows you only to upgrade the ROM (operating system) with a newer version of the same of the one you already have installed. Thus you couldn't flash a custom ROM or even the standard HTC ROM if your phone came with an Telecom Operator branded ROM.
Why the different version of HSPL? They are developed up on the SPL that the phone came with or that was flashed with (as part of an official ROM update).
The main reason for different versions is the phones and stock spls that each version allows
Hspl regular and telstra with spl 1.42
Hspl2 regular with spl 1.42 to 2.08
Hspl1024 tmous only with spl 2.08
Hspl3 all models, spl up to 2.08
Hspl4 all models, all spls.
Ohh ok thanks alot for the information
So when I put my proper HSPL on my device I can install any custom rom too my phone?
You can use any Hspl for any rom, they don't have to match.
The exception is 3.14 roms which must have 3.03.0000 or 3.03.Hspl
If you are going down the nand android route, you must use 2.08.Hspl
It doesn't matter which version of Hspl.exe you use.
2.08.Hspl from Hspl2 is IDENTICAL to 2.08.Hspl from Hspl3 which is IDENTICAL to 2.08.Hspl from hspl4.

Yes and no.
Sometimes there is no need of HSPL.
Some custom roms don't need the presence of HSPL.
It depends on your desired custom rom.
And additionally, if your desired custom rom is not based on STOCK ROM 3.14 you don't need to install HSPL3.03 with HSPL4.
Personally I'm using Artemis on my HD2 without HSPL.
These are new for me, now i knew about HSPL too, thanks for everyone.

AFAIK STOCK ROM 1.66 as base and HSPL2.08 for MAGLDR.
I don't like to test WP7 on my HD2 because of the limited functionality at the moment and I'm very satisfied with Artemis.
So, to be sure have a look on HD2 Windows Phone 7 forums.

it would have been a nice idea to mention not only that you don't really need HSPL, but also exactly how you got like that without HSPL, for those who haven't heard of SSPL or Goldcards.

no custom winmo rom requires hspl, hspl (sspl, goldcard) are only required for the actual flash. Once the rom is loaded it will continue to work regardless of whether the spl is spl or hspl.

Maybe you are right and I wasn't precise enough.
I'm using Artemis ROM and there is no need to install HSPL3.03 or using a goldcard for flashing the ROM, if you can download STOCK ROM 3.14 from HTC homepage by entering your serial number or from your provider's homepage.
If there is no STOCK ROM 3.14 available for your device then you have to use HSPL or goldcard.
First you flash STOCK ROM 3.14 with its brought along installer and then the custom ROM (Artemis) with SSPL. Both from homescreen and your HD2 connected via Active Sync or Windows Mobile device center to your PC.
