Hey guys,
HTC Hong Kong has released a new WWE ROM.
Has anybody installed this? I have a HD2, Telstra branded, and have the other HK WWE 1.72 ROm working perfectly.
Would I be able to install this or the same SPL, HSPL problems apply.
Download the new ROM here:

First of all thanks fore communication, (but it was communicate already before )
Secondly if you need a download mirror you can find it here.
Thirdly, all Stock Rom versions 3.14 need to be install without HSPL.

Not true,
I had HSPL 2.08 installed when I flashed a stock WWE 3.14 ROM from SD Card. No problems at all. HSPL gets overwritten by default 3.03 SPL then.

Eh?? isn't this not without HSPL???
I mean you mention to have SPL, so not HSPL!?

I successfully downloaded and flashed WM 6.1 ... so far so good. I noticed that it also installed an new SPL (now 3.13, previously 1.28).
If I change to HardSPL (in order to use a custom ROM), do I need to flash SPL 3.13 before I revert to WM 6.1 (in case of a service call) ? And if so, is it available separately and where ?
Thanks,
Andreas
hi,
you can flash Shipped ROM without HardSPL AFAIK, but I think for service reasons you should use the original SPL.
Check out this two threads for Shipped ROMs and Original SPL:

and PLEASE, next time use search and read the "sticky" threads, most of the things you have to know is in there.

Hi Martin,
thanks for the links ...
I agree that searching is helpful, no question about that ... BUT
I had already downloaded the GER WM6.1 update and installed it (from the page you linked to) and
I had searched for original SPLs but found only 1.25 or 1.28 ... not the 3.13 I currently see in my TC (after WM 6.1 update).
So the question for me still is this:
If - after going for a custom ROM (incl. HardSPL) - I want to go back to the standard HTC WM 6.1 ROM, will I need to change back to the standard SPL first ... and if yes, which one ? Will it be 1.28, since I haven't seen a SPL-file for 3.13. ?
Sorry, if I overlooked something in the other posts/threads, but this is not clear to me ... if it's obvious to everyone else, then mea culpa.
Cheers,
Andreas

Hmmm ... just noticed that the 3.13 SPL is WWE ... does this mean there should also be a GER version ?
And will I need the GER SPL 3.13 version, if I want to install the standard HTC WM 6.1 GER ROM ?
Which brings me to a general question, does the HTC RUU check to make sure that you have a GER SPL and a GER OS ? Because I had problems with installing a HTC WWE WM6.1 ROM previously (it aborted the installation), while the GER version worked just fine.

Andreas

Do not worry, spl not depends on language...the spl in GER or WWE rom is the same.
Hi all,
I have an HD2 from Orange in France.
SSPL falshing works perfectly for me but there is not a single original rom that I find compatible to my device so if it should brick at the next try I have nothing to get back to.
So my first question would be how to get my hand on an Orange rom.
And it would be great if that rom would have a newer radio than 2.04 since my device has this on.
Or is there another possibility without HSPL to flash another radio newer than mine??
Thx

Install shipped ROM 1.61 with Goldcard. So you will get the new Radio. Afterwards you can install other ROMs with SSPL.
Is there no way to flash the new 1.61 ROM with SSPL, that would make life much easier ? So I will get the newest radio ? I can get the RUU_signed.nbh from the 1.61 ROM and then flash with SSPL, or will that not work ?
Edit: already found out; you can flash with SSPL, but then it won't flash the radio ...
Rom 1.61? On HTC site there is only 1.48 or am I missing something?!

Hi Mark,
I have an HTC HD2 from Vodafone with SPL 3.03, Radio version 2.07.51.22_2 and ROM version 1.72.161.3 (82124) WWE. I want to move from Windows Mobile 6.5 to FROYO. In all the tutorials I'm reading, I am having a hard time getting started because tutorials for SPL 3.03 require Radio version 2.15 and the official HD2 ROM. Can you clarify how to update the Radio and ROM version on a Vodafone branded phone? Is there a particular Froyo installation guide that would best suit my configuration? Thanks for your help.

Hi Mike,
It doesnt matter what version your Radio is as you want to install HardSPL on your phone before flashing a newer Radio.
Follow my LEO flashing guide and use HSPL4.exe to change your SPL to 2.08.HSPL (HardSPL v2.08). Then you can flash a new 2.15.50.14 Radio via the same guide. You will now have the pre-requisits to install Magldr v1.13 and then CWM which you can use to flash a NAND Android Rom.
It may sound complicated but everything you will need is in my guides in my sig.
Mark.

Thanks for prompt info, however upon keying in my HD2 serial no, it says the software is not suitable for my mobile. Would you suggest I should still try with other links available and upgrade it (for Singapore). Many thanks.

Yes you should download from the Singapore page as the ROM at the HK site is for CHT whereas Singapore is either CHS or WWE.
I've have been running the HK 1.72.831.1 ROM for ages, then i decided to flash to this ROM, been using it for the last week, and for my HD2, this ROM is a pile of sh*t
issue's i've dicsovered so far
1. issues with launching video from album view, issues range from no video playback, to radio buttons disappear at bottom of screen....never had these issue wth 1.72.831.1 when playing the same videos
2. consumes lots of RAM ( 80-90 % ), compared to 1.72 ( 40-70ish% ), so much so that applications will fail, intermittant usage of opera for example.
It's a pitty, cause overall this ROM is much more responsive, and the radio seems more responsive too ( eg enable/disable wifi etc... )
Looks like i'll be rolling back to 1.72.831.1

Sir like mention almost everywhere; Stock ROM 3.14 isn't compatible with HSPL!
You need to remove HSPL before installing stock ROM 3.14! If you don't do it the above mentioned problems are normal!

Hi,
I just wanna share my experience.I just flashed the Stock ROM after many times consideration. I felt that no increase in term of speed [I used to flash Energy as a benchmark of ROM speed ] I mean it was slower than any cooked ROM. So I decided to go back to Cooked ROM. Now, I am using Carnage HD v.4.2 which is faster than the stock ROM.
In flashing the stock ROM, I had to remove HSPL2 by way of running HSPL2 from my PC (Win XP Pro SP3) and choose SPL 1.66. I succeeded, then I flashed the stock ROM also from my PC.
In flashing back to Cooked ROM, I use SSPL. First attempt, my PC got crashed (BSOD), I wasnt sure the reason of which. The second attempt, I succeeded.
Now I have SPL 3.03 in my HD2. I read that few users reported that they can downgrade the SPL. I am not sure whether it is safe. I need time to think about it.
Cheers....

After I flashed this ROM to my phone, upgrading it to any Artemis ROM via SSPL would load HSPL 1.42 instead of 3.03. Also, I've had problems with Artemis ROMS after flashing to this stock ROM, such as stuck on HTC boot screen or soft reset becoming hard resets. Could it be a problem with the HSPL? How do I make sure that it loads HSPL 3.03 when flashing Artemis instead of 1.42?

Hi XDA!
I bought a used HD2 with a T-Mobile Germany branding to have a backup for my nearly 2 years old O2 Germany branded device. This one works fine for me even after I have switched to Cookies Home Tab.
Questions:
1. I want to get rid of the T-Mobile branding. Am I right to use HSPL4 to flash the HD2?
2. Am I able to install after flashing the latest O2 Germany ROM?
3. What if I backup before installing the O2 ROM and restore afterwards? Will there be any problem because of different ROM versions used?
4. The latest O2 Germany ROM version is using SPL 3.03.0000. Do I have to flash it again via HSPL4 to SPL 2.08 to install a SD built of Android? If yes: what about the functions of the WinMobile with that SPL downgrade? Will everything work fine or are there any known bugs?
5. I would prefer this Androidbuilt as my first trial: [NOV07] AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7.1 | bk2sdext [KERNEL:ACA823]. Would that be possible?
Any comments are highly appreciated.
Thanks guys!

depends on teh type of backup, so yes you may have problems switching different rom versions. If it were me id back up contacts and calendar and reinstall everything else from scratch,

Hi Samsamuel,
that was a very quick reply to all my requests! Thanks for this.
Just to understand everything correct...
-I need to flash by HSPL4 to HSPL3.03 to switch from my T-Mobile Germany ROM to my desired O2 Germany ROM; 3.14 WinMo will still be used
-After this is done I do not need to flash HSPL2.08 because an Android SD built will work with the HSPL3.03 as well
Is this correct? In fact I am not sure about this last point. Because I found this note in the original post of HSPL4 by Cotulla:
"This HSPL released for WM65 users, to provide better compatible with ROMs based on Official 3.XX ROM.
Android / WP7 / MAGLDR don't support HSPL3.03/OSPL3.03. You need HSPL2.08 to run Android / WP7 / MAGLDR."
This confuses me a little bit....
Angus
yea you need 3.03.hspl for the o2 rom, and that bit from cotulla is talking about nand android. (or at least thats my understanding, ive never used sd android, lol)
