Hi Guys,
I'm cooking for HTC Universal. But i have a problem with the HTC64 encoding tool.
When i've finished cooking and encode my ROM, i named it:
Home_Edition_0.1
Once i've flashed it when i look @ the : ROM number it comes up with:
D.08.60 - Toma's ROM.
So i trired with Luca16thebig's Visual Kitchen, and that just hangs on the splash screen.. Any ideas?
PS: No in the Uni Rom section is there.. as they've all moved onto newer devices

Hi All
Nice to be here, have a newbie question I have just aquired an xda2 which I have successfuly sim unlocked and am using an Orange sim, is there anyway to de O2 the front end boot screens and also put in Orange wap ,fax and internet settings.
Cheers
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=238217
Splash Image == bootscreen
wap and internet settings == settings which can always be changed by hand or cab file
fax == 3th party program
Cheers for that its a bit hard to follow, rom unlocker etc and cab files .I have a basic computer knowledge but struggle with some software and programming. One of the reasons I joined the forum was to learn my way around xda's because they are a useful piece of kit
if you by rom unlocker mean extended rom unlocker then
extended rom is kinda like a dir in normal windows pc which is
hidden and readonly
what the extended rom contain is cab files
cab files is installation files for pocketpc
when the device is started the first time all cab files in the extented rom are auto run and installed onto the device
p.s.

Thanks Rudegar
So the Extended Rom is a hidden parition is there a copy of the rom unlocker in the forum or can it be purchased from a site. The link you gave me looks interesting.I have a tour of night duty next week so I will get to grips with it then.
cheers
buzzdev.net have an unlocker
otherwise google would know too

Iam extremely sorry bro it has a bug that i also know. So i think you need to change your rom until i fix that.
I suggest you to try nguoc rom although it will give less internal storage and less free ram still for beginner its perfect.
need ur help bro

spl change
well i made this a while ago, and finally got around to get it fully tested and release it.
this HardSPL is based on version 1.26 SPL. and is version 2 (2.00.cmon). also i *think* this one will not hard reset the phone
it's for any OPAL***** modelid now,
thanks to wlinsong and PhamQuang for testing
instructions:
0a) make sure you have .NET framework installed on your PC! if not, get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
0b) if you have vista, WMDC update is recommended: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ce-center.mspx
1) download Hard-SPL package from attachment, extract to an empty folder (Opal_HardSPL_v2_0.zip).
2) you must have the phone synced with your PC, i.e. device must be in Windows Mobile!
3) run Opal_HardSPL_v2.exe.
4) follow steps in the RUU, and check on the device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
5) device should go to a grey screen
6) go on with RUU, Hard-SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
7 ) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 2.00.cmon
+1: if the screen won't go to grey mode (SSPL), then try manually entering SSPL by using the Opal-SSPL-Manual.zip - run the EXE on the phone then when it went to grey screen, run the HardSPL exe on PC and flash.
finally, donations are always appreciated to the "To Cmonex" link in my signature
now, enjoy the hardspl and cooked roms
UPDATE: How to flash stock SPL back for warranty purposes - please use this only if you need to return device for repair!
steps:
0. first flash entire stock ROM, then after that you can flash stock SPL as *last step*. do not reverse this flashing order please
1. get the RUU_Signed.NBH file from attachment (opalstockspl126.zip (185.3 KB))
2. run hardspl package from attachment (Opal_HardSPL_v2_0.zip)
3. *after* Opal HardSPL EXE extracts files, replace extracted RUU_Signed.NBH with the one from opalstockspl126.zip i.e. when asked to overwrite, say Yes, if it doesn't ask, then you are trying to copy it before running the HardSPL EXE, which is the wrong order.
4. flash just like you flashed HardSPL (see original instructions above)
5. device reboots, you can now check if it says 1.26.0000 or still 1.26.cmon or 2.02.cmon, in the latter case you did something wrong, it has to show 1.26.0000.

Hi, I can't post directly into the existing thread (Noob), but I've tried Android Flasher 2.2.0.5 and it gives the old "Android Flasher has encountered a problem and needs to close" Microsoft warning. I'm happy to pay for the Pro version, but need to know it will run first.
I'm running WinXP SP3, and have a HTC Desire, rooted with Unrevoked 3. FYI, I could get Android AIO Flasher to start, and communicate with the phone, but it crashes when I try and convert pics to IMG. As I only want to change the splash screen, I thought AF would be the solution.
Anyone else hit this snag?
It'd be nice if I could just message the author
Thanks, Rod. ..... Nope, no quotes here.....

u could try this for changing splash screens. basicaly it converts bmp files to nb. and once its converted u just rename nb to .img and u can flash via fastboot commands.
http://androidforums.com/desire-all...under-rooting-android-errata.html#post2991455
thats a wee TUT on how to use it.
also u can use almost any free online image editor to convert jpg, png files etc etc to bmp format. this is just another way around changing splash screens
thanks handy5876 for this
