I dropped my clonephone and the buttons stopped working. Upon opening it turned out to be a simple connector that had come undone.
Fixing it was easy. most people could do it..
hope this may help someone.. also can anyone identify which connector leads to the gps antenna?

My 2i's charging connector broke. Sent it back to O2's repair centre and they specifically said that the mainboard has to be changed. Anybody here know of any thrifty way to get hold of a mainboard or a something similar? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

fixed same problem my self
Hi ,
I received a similar device from a collegue.
His charging connector was completely severed from his mainbord.
I opened the device and solderd it back on my self. Device is working again.
If you have te same problem maybe it's cheaper to find someone who can do this for you then looking for a replacement mailboard.
I have to say I had to try it 2 time because the connections where really tiny.

exactly...tiny...
You're right, it's very small, plus I have fat fingers. Well, maybe I should get someone to do it for me. I was hoping for a short cut solution and not too expensive one as well. I might try that after the holidays..
Hello,
After a crash screen accident, I gave the broken phone to a repair shop to replace the screen and gave them my black housing in order to replace the white one.
They gave me back the phone. everything works, except gps: no detection. The shop told me it was due to my 'fake' housing but I suspect an antenna problem? how can I test that? someone could tell me where is that antenna?
another symptom: if in put the gps on, and try 'gps test', the gps icon appears and flashing (suggesting that gps is working), but no detection. The device becomes hot quickly and battery empties out quickly too....
thanks for your help
GPS antenna may be made out of ceramic, so depending on how bad your accident was it could be broken. My phone was run over, and even though I replaced the screen and digitizer myself the GPS is weak and the accelerometer is dead.
it's exactely what has happened to me.
there's another similar discussion on thread n. 6178625 (can't post link as a noob member)
and here's what I wrote:
after I replaced the housing, the gps died.
no way to fix the signal: the gps is on but it dosen't find any sat.
this is the service manual:
I was wondering: where the gps antenna is located? is it the same for the gsm/umts one (i.e. the plastic part in the bottom of the back)?
please keep this up, we must find a solution

Hey all, just have a weird issue popping up in multiple types of roms. After awhile when I am typing messages my keyboard will stop responding on certain keys. I am not sure if this is a software issue (keyboard) or hardware issue (touch screen). Any insight and help would be much appreciated!
Its probably a bad ground on the screen. There is a thread about this somewhere on the glacier forum. I remember the solution had something to do with bending a grounding pin to get better contact on the battery door.
Edit: here it is

Thank you for this. I will give it a try when I get the chance. Hopefully it works cause this can get a bit aggravating
hello, I've had my precious dvp for 2 years now and it's served me well. Recently however a problem has arisen, the display does not work at all when the phone is slid shut, and only works when it is slid open. I realize this may have to do with the ribbon cable coming loose. However my query is- is this simply the cable coming loose or is it damaged? in other words, can i repair this by opening the phone and fixing the cable, or will it have to be replaced? Also I'd like to know if anyone can further help me by providing assistance on how to go forth opening this beast and fixing this issue.
Thank you.
Like the title says I now have little to no wifi signal unless stood next to the router?
Can anyone help me out am getting really cheesed off with this.
thanks in advance
Checked for loose connectors? Does wifi improve if you remove the cameras?
Was perfectly fine, before I did the camera, checked the conector the little point bit snapped off but not the ful connector so I am still able to lift it up slightly?
Are you referring to the centre pin?
no the little connector on the oppisote side of the bored
located here in the green ring, the whole connector is still attached all tho a little bit on the top has came of no bigger than a half centimeter
Maybe the connector is not making proper contact with the back casing. Maybe add a bit of solder to the gold contact to raise it up a bit to it makes better contact?
Would adding solder not damage it?

Sounds to me like the device was opened to replace the camera, and it could be something easy to fix. Fix step open the device, and check that suckers WiFi Antenna wire....looks the same as a Laptop WiFi Antenna Wire, except smaller and shorter, it may be disconnected from the logic board connector location, or the wire is broken or damaged.
Adding a but of solder may work as long as you use low-melt solder, a very fine tip iron, and you do not let the solder flow to other parts of the board.
I suppose the alternative would be taking it to a cell shop to see if they can fix it.
I have Samsung i9505l updated to lollipop via OTA after updating All the sensor stopped what does it mean is Samsung killing their devices via ota's i said to my friends that it's hardware (sensor Hub) problem! and he was saying no it's software problem after downgrading to Kit Kat... everything works fine I lost $30 bet on it.! poor Samsung ! so the main question is there anyway to upgrade to lollipop with working sensors?
