Tytn Dropping Calls Like Crazy...

Ok, I'm fed up now. My Tytn is dropping a ridiculous amount of calls lately, and I'm tired of it. I've set it to use GSM/GPRS only, so it's not an issue of switching between 2G and 3G.
My current ROM info is in my signature. I've been avoiding going to another ROM because I would never be able to go back to the original Tytn one if I wanted to. But now, I'm ready. I'm tired of the dropped calls.
So, with that being said... please, give me your suggestion of what ROM I should upgrade to.

If you happen to read this, I'm interested in hearing about your setup as shown in your sig.

I'm using Dopod's Rom (Not the AUS one), it's quite good, snappy responsive. Once a while crashes if i leave wifi on over night, otherwise very stable. as for voice quality, it's amazing, havn't had problems with dropped calls. Before you change ur rom, i'd suggest u check that it's ur provider and not your fone. when u sure it's ur fone, try the dopod rom.

I am experiencing the same problem. I am using the 8525. I changed SIM cards and that did not help much.

Put you SIM card in another phone (Nokia OR SE) and see if you face same problem, if yes, then it is RADIO signal problem in your Area. Otherwise the choice is in your hand to proceed for ROM upgrade on TyTn for Radio only. (See WiKi Pages for ROM Upgrade Radio Ver. 1.20.31.10).

why dont you try the new ROM 1.35????.
there are good comments about it. I will upgrade my vodafone v1605 to it..

For me is was a matter of which provider I used. I switched to another (from Tele2 to Telenor, if you're Norwegian ) and I never had that problem again...

Sorry, I should have been more clear about one point... I still have my Cingular 2125 (HTC Faraday) as well as my old Audiovox SMT5600, and I have tested these phones with my SIM, and do NOT experience problems with dropped calls. So I'm pretty sure it's the Tytn.

My TyTN is on Cingular. I've never had a dropped call. I do have some issues picking up calls though. Interestingly, I the same issues with my Cingular 8125 (wizard).

Thought I'd start a thread where people can post there issues/bugs on ROM upgrade 1.35 and it will also help people to make an informed decision before upgrading to this ROM.
I have now used this ROM on my SPV M3100 for over several weeks and the only issue I have is when using my 3 network USIM the voicemail speed dial 1 does not work even after going through the settings or registry the bizzare thing is I don't get this issue with other network SIM i.e. O2, Orange or T-Mobile.
P.S. before someone says I may have a faulty 3 USIM, I did not have this issue prior to this upgrade.

The HTC ROM 1.35 is different from the cingular ROM 2.06, it's supposedly the most stable of the ROM upgrades or so they say!

I haven't any issue, Radio & ROM 1.35 ... i've read someone has problems with messaging service...
Using a Task Manager ONE TIME only i've seen the Messaging Service stopped, just a reboot.
now works well, bt, wifi & radio

and what happend, when you try to change the very first contact on sim? I had similar problem, but on old nokia phone, not windows nor symbian.

Would the HTC 1.35 ROm work on the Cingular 8525?

loud busy tone even if Phone is on loudness=0
i have some problems with this Radio 1.35.00.11. The thread is about that, isn´t it?
First of all my phone beeps loud out of the speaker at the back(the loud one for "free speaking") if the Person iam calling is not available (busy signal). Even if the Phone is turned to loudness 0! Iam not sure that the Radio Rom is responsible for that, because i reseted my vario2 completely. But iam sure that problem i never had before(with the german origninal Radio ROm).

Because of that i wanted to flash the 1.27. Radio ROM to the Vario2. I took this one: ftp://xda:[email protected]_TMD-TMA_Radiopatch_1.27.00.00_107_GER.exe
The flashing procedure got complete without any error, but on the Vario iss still the 1.35.00.11! Isn´t it possible to flash to a older Rom Version?

Big problem SPV M3100

Hi im new so if break any rules sorry. I have SPV M3100 with blackdiamond on it, unlocked, but when i want make a call phone starting connecting and after 2 sec break connection. Also if someone call to me they can't. Please help me. Sorry for my language im Polish and my english writing skills are not very good

No this doesn't mean you have to throw your phone out. You just have to be a little more patient.
The people who use this forum aren't all from the same timezone and don't all have the ability to read this from work so it may take a couple of days to get a response.
I haven't done what you have some unable to help. Just don't get despondant that have you haven't had a response yet.

I've heard mixed reports of the 1.41 radio - some good and some bad. I tried 1.41 but eventually went back to the 1.38 radio because it is the most stable in many of the countries I work in. I didn't use the 1.41 radio in Poland but did have problems with it in Czech republic which is why I downgraded.
There are reports of dropped calls for this radio in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303378 so it may be a good idea for you to read through that.
Personally, I'd drop down to radio 1.38.00.10 - get it here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms,
BUT before you change the radio, make sure you have Hard-SPL 2.10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722 because this will help you recover your phone if something goes wrong.

It's still the same my phone can't make a call always drop after few seconds, i change ratio on 1.38.00.10 and 1.38.00.01 latest UK because I'm in Scotland right now and still is the same, meaby there is a chane to clean everything and upload on my spv again, if yes please for a tip how to do thant, or any difrend idea? Please help me because i start losing my mind and i have latest hard SPL by the way.And alsow i have reception on my phone everything sims ok but i can't make a call.

Hi der_tiger,,, I've been playing about with black Dymond and various Radios in Scotland with varing results.. IMHO generally all the 1.4# radio Roms had issues with missing calls dropping radio signals etc.. I've reverted back to 1.38.00.10 as it seams the most stable for us in jock-land.
Once you've reflashed your rom I would recommend you reflash black Dymond, I always get a more stable system by reflashing the System ROM "AFTER" i change the Radio rom.....not sure why.
Oh one other thing I noticed, this might just be an Orange thing, but If I manualy select the network ie in my case Orange rather than the phone Auto selecting networks I don't get any issues with signal drop-outs !!!! go figure !!

I have a problem with delayed SMS/calls; I often receive my txt hours after they’ve been sent, also at times phone calls don’t come through. I've also noticed that it searches for network at least 3 times a day possibly even more. I have already tried hard resets, reinstalling the Rom and Radio also bought a new battery, however nothing fixed the problem. In addition I have contacted the provider and they’ve informed me that nothing is wrong with the network.
Cingular 8525 T-Mobile WM6 on Fido network.
ROM Version: 3.62.502.3
Radio Version: 1.54.07.00
Any help will be appreciated.

which rom are you using... have you thought about using a different rom and/or a different radio...? I'm assuming that your phone is unlocked, but using the OEM rom? I would try upgrading the radio first, just a thought, but it may be a reception problem.... have you confirmed the phone number that is being used for the text messages... It should be correct, but you never know... Anyway, just some random thoughts... Hope one helps...

HD Sound problem during the Call

I Bought My Touch HD last month from QATAR, after two days I discovered that while making a call and after a while ( 2 to 5 minutes) the other party will start to complain that he cant hear my voice while I still can hear him clearly, and then after a while the sound will return to normal and he will be able to hear me clearly again !!!! this is repeated every 2 to 5 minutes during the call !!!!
I went to the dealer and exchanged the device with a new one, what surprised me is I encountered the same problem again after one week and I dont know what to do !!!!! I am currently visiting the family in the states and still have the same problem on T Mobile using a local SIM Card !!!
PLease help, does anybody have the same problem ? please advice

I bought mine from Qatar, now I updated to ROM 1.19 Black Pearl by Pinosha and still testing as the problem sometimes dissapear and then comes back after few days and lasts for a long time !!! but I have noticed that no body is interested in this problem !!! maybe we are the only people that have it !!!

when i got my new phone i got a new simcard that better supported the 3G functions than my 5year old one.

I had a couple of times people couldn't hear me..
I thought it was caused by the way I was holding the device. The Mic is on the bottom end the phone.. I sometimes put my finger on the mic.
Next time when it occurs again.. check you're not blocking the mic with you finger..

try setting the cellular network on GSM only on the phone, when the reception is bad and 3G doesnt work, i think you have these kind of problems when you are in a call...

In most cases it is due to people closing the mic with their finger when talking..the mic hole is placed in a bad position...

Same problem for me but i think i have the reason why. I think the change to 3G or EDGE when in call is the problem. I have this problem everytime when i get a new mail. Is that possible? And how to fix it? :confused
Same when i load the wether while in call....

Maybe this is the problem, but my device sometimes connect via Edge and I dont know why and when i disconnect it, it will connect again !!! I dont know how to stop the data connection and prevent the device from auto connection !! I want to disable all data connection and keep the MMS working only !!!
Any help on how to disable data connection and keep the MMS working !!!
I live in the US and use my HD on Tmobile and dont have 3G, only Edge is working !
