How to Find your Phones Region for changing ROMs - Omnia II General

Hi, I've had my omnia 2 (GT-I8000) for almost 2 months, and wanted to change ROMs as my friends have suggested. I looked into it and found that there are a wide variety of ROMs, depending on the region and the codes in the CSC, PDA, PHONE, sections.
these are the current Codes:
PDA: I8000JPJA2
CSC: I8000XSGJA3
PHONE: I8000XXJA1
the store that I bought the Phone from updated my Omnia to
win mo 6.5 ( CE OS 5.2.21883 Build 21883.5.0.73)
I wanted to change the ROM and heard that if the region of the ROM is not compatible with your phone, it won't work. so I would really appreciate any help and suggestions for good ROMs.
Please, if you give suggestions for Roms, or any programs that I have to Use, then please, please, provide the links to them, I would greatly appreciate it! A walkthrough would be nice too, I'm a Complete Noob when it comes to WM phones.
thank you very much.

Artemis OS Upgrade

Hello everyone
I just got my Artemis. I've been reading some threads here on the website, and it seems like tom_codon is the best programmer over here. Cheers Tom.
Anyway I currently live in Lebanon (it's in the Middle East next to Cyprus and Israel for those who don't know where it is) and I got my Artemis from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The OS is in arabic and I can't change the language.
I am really interested in upgrading my Artemis to TouchFlo or the B&B I've been seeing on this website or another OS such as Artemis O2 WM6 PremiumPlus. I need your help to do this. First of all I need someone to explain the main differences between these 3 Operating Systems especially in terms of usage with the fingers (I really wanna get rid of the stylus as much as possible). Secondly, I want detailed explanations on how to install and WHERE to download the files from (I've been having so many annoying problems on websites such as megaupload.com and rapidshare.com).
Please consider in your explanations that I am a beginner PDAPhone user.
Thanks a lot please help as soon as possible.

How change system language?

I am fond of Palm pro very much because i am a Palm fans, but it do not appear in the Chinese market , So only entrust my friend to have bought this machine in Italy, now system languageis is Italian , but I only know English, How change system language to English , everybody helping me , the thanks.
Nobody help me ?
Lot's of people are willingly to help. But most would agree that you do some reading before posting
You need to apply a HardSPL on your device this allows you to flash your device using a different ROM.
Two problems at the moment:
1 - Hard SPL not available at the moment
2 - No official ROM's released at the moment
You will find info on both threads in the Palm Treo Pro Upgrading section.
You can't change the language any other way!

Questions on Flashing Omnia II ROM

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to flash the rom on my Omnia II for the first time so I need some advice. My device has following versions:
PDA: I8000NXXIJ9
CSC: I8000XSOIJ2
PHONE: I8000DXIJ1
I wanna update the JD3 rom but I have few questions,
1) Is it possible to update only PDA and CSC part with JD3 or any other rom leaving eBoot and PHONE part unchanged? Or combination of 3 leaving either eBoot or PHONE part unchanged. Is there any benefit of updating eBoot and/or PHONE part?
2) I am also confused with PDA part. There are upto four parts (files) of PDA to download. My question is, do we need all of them? Or just need part one? And I think we can only select one file on the Octans downloader window.
Can anyone kindly clear my concerns and help me in this regard.
I thank you very much in advance for your response. Any reply would be highly appreciated.

Novice questions

Hello guys,
First of all Happy new year.
I just got a Samsung Tab and I am learning on it (how to ROM...etc...)
But since it is my first device (android) I would like some help from you
anywhere I can find some tutorials...help ?
what is ROm and what's the difference between ROM and Firmware
what is CSC ? is JPJK2 the latest version ? how ? where ?
thanks a lot.
Pierre
@Pierre. What country are you in, what mobile carrier do you use and what's the sales code on your phone? No one will be able to give you ROM version advice without these basic details.
ROM and firmware are the same thing, people use the names interchangably. The ROM/firmware is the usually seen as the PDA version thats on the device as this is the Android operating system. The devices also have modem software and the CSC (customer specific customisations). The modem code contains drivers for the modem (ie data and voice), WiFi and (afaik) bluetooth. The CSC contains vendor specific applications and mobile network connection details (eg. APN settings).
Have a look around in this forum and in the Samsung Galaxy S forums for tutorials / advice etc and enjoy your Tab!!
If I've given any bad information above, could someone who knows more please feel free to correct me!

[Q] [Req] Care to share the original (pre-nodo) unbranded EUR rom

Hi,
I'm trying to downgrade my Trophy so that I can have NODO but jailbroke.
The post with the unbranded Roms is under design for a long time now and it seems to be the only source .
Does any of you care to share a pre-Nodo unbranded EUR working rom?
It'd would be greatly appreciated
Regards
I didn't get much replies on this one so I'll share my experience for those out there willing to do the same.
I found a rom out there just by doing a google search. I could not verify the precedence but at least the nomenclature of the file's name was the right one so I went ahead. I know it was risky but I could not contain myself. I successfully flashed the device using ansar's guidelines. As I expected (hoped actually ) I could unlock and registry hack the device so that it doesn't relock. Then applied the updates including Nodo through the regular way and voilá.
I've just realized that fellow forum member football posted the Rom in question:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858600
Hope that it's of use for somebody else
big help! thanks
