Urgent Request (XDA II Locked, Total Noob , Please help!)

Hi all,
first off all i'd like to say Hi to everyone as im new here.
Also id like to thank everyone for readingmy problems
Any way i purchased an XDA II about a Week ago from Ebay its really my fault as in the item description it said there was a problem with the phone it wont start as its locked.
The phone goes to a Blue screen after you ON it and do the screen configiration etc
The blue screen has Cognito on it saying 'Warning this Devcie is Locked'
then under it:
'If you are installing from the MMC card please wait.
Otherwise, either insert the MMC card and do a cold boot, or contact Cognito to unlock the device.
Im not sure what this means and if i leave the phone for a while or type it from it takes me to a password screen in white with the keyboard on it.

Im not sure what to do if you can help me you will save me alot of money otherwise do i just chuck the phone away also
ive tried a Hard Reset by clicking the POWER BUTTON, RESET KET.
nothing happens just the phone loads up and makes me Calibrate the screen.
Ive tried this process while also pressing the D-PAD i get a screen with Serial with V1.06 i think at the bottom
i dont really know how i can know if its Hard resetted.
So please peolple take a Minute to help me thanks alot.

okay wot u do is download the o2 rom for the device because u sed it is a xda2 so download and install that. this will do a comlpete rest not like hard reset it will deleted absolutly everything on the xda2 and then install indows 2003 back onto it it will be like getting a new fone. try it i hope it works for u

I flashed the himalaya M1000 with WM2003se upgrade. but still could not remove the Cognito (shame).

Should do. I've done the 1.72 update on it based on the ROM from this site and all is good.

i have come to you all begging on my knees to help me fix this darn phone. i have a imate JAMin on the vodacom network in south africa. when i originally started the phone and it started installing all those cab files i did what some people mentioned i should do and soft reset it for it to stop adding all that other junk. this i think is about where my problems started. i had no mms facility at all. no one in south africa seems to be able to help me and if they can i certainly havnt been told about it and ive spent ages tracking people down who might help...
my brother eventually led me here...
i am having serious issues with the phone at present. i cannot for some reason connect to GPRS - my settings are still the same as they were. and then this morning when i woke up the phone seems to be dialling and then hanging up and dialing and hanging up and dialing and hanging up. i think its almost as annoying as nails down a chalk board. i have tried to hard reset but it doesnt seem to want to?!
other than that i am a complete novice at this sort of stuff. i have no clue when it comes to extended roms and the like but i would likethis phone to work properly - eg make and recieve calls. use gprs so i can go online via it on my laptop. use skype. send recieve texts. the usual things. i dont need all the fancy shmancy stuff they load and also dont need all the other countries's operating software!!
where do i start so that i can at least use the phone, or reset it so that i can use it? i have looked at other threads but to be honest i dont understand a thing....

i cant seem to hard reset it either - i get to the stage where it asks me to press the send button, but when i press this nothing happens...
is there a prevelance for virus's on these phones? can they even get them through normal useage?

Need help with wizard!

hi guys! I need your help.. my wizard keeps on booting up. What happened was, I tried to fix the stylus.. and the stylus problem has been resolved.. I noticed that the volume button becomes loose.. so I opened the wizard again.. I accidentally pulled the whole board and noticed that there is this orange flat wire-like thing.. so I placed it back. however looks like i did not successfully placed it back because when I tried to turn on the device.. it keeps on booting up with the T-mobile logo..
I removed the battery and placed the power cord and tried to turn on the device agian ad same problem happens...
is there like a way to diagnose or check on the circuitry ? is there like a link that you guys can provide me with..?
waaaah!!! i badly need help..
I was able to hard reset and set the device on bootloader..

Service manuals were/are available on the ftp, not sure how much help they will be to you though. I dont think they will help you much. I hope you get your device fixed.

the flat wire is the keyboard connection,
google 'wizard service manual' there are links on other forums and maybe here, it's too big to upload and i don't know how to zip it up at the moment, maybe i'll find out later

Update from SE... now stylus problem

Sorry guys probably been covered before but search did not come up with anything for me... I updated with the SE update service, now my stylus will not work on the screen. Any tips? Cheers

and also another quick problem, Mobile Device Centre, always comes up with an error and will not connect to my phone. I need my contacts and emails etc, anything I can do?

T-mobile Wing problem

hello everybody,
my problem is that it deducting from my balance every few seconds, operator side said it is might a virus sending messages.
i made a hard and soft reset but on both cases it keeps the same behavior.
i cant use my phone.
anyone can help plz?!
