Hello.
I have this problem:
The phone is often the case that the GSM signal will disappear at random intervals. Sometimes it helps to manually start the recovery operator (sometimes just making itself known in the scanning of available operators). Scanning operators are always, never even happened that I could not find one available operator. But sometimes he writes that "your SIM card does not support logging into the network operator," even if you log in to your network operator (O2).
This is manifested with any SIM
Originally on the phone CM - the problem manifested itself back then.
I performed the flash radio 2.22.23.02. The problem persisted. I performed the flash ROM SuperEclair, the problem persisted.
what could harm the phone?
Can this be fixed?
or only possibility is a different motherboard + UMTS board?

Hello!
I spent last week in France and I had a lot of problems with GSM signal. Phone sometimes can't connect to operater. When I looked in settings menu I saw only ''searching'' and nothing happend. Then I just click on ''Find network'' and after some second everything was OK.
For me is this a big problem because I must be reachable all the time.
What could be wrong and how could I solve the problem?
Bye,
Borut
I'm on radio 1.38.00.11, and I have the same problem too... sometimes it does not even get any signal after trying to "find network". When I disable the phone and enable it again (flight mode and back) it will get full signal, I'm at the same spot for the whole process so its not the reception of the location.
Any idea?
I sent also an E-mail to HTC support team and still waiting an answer.
I got this answer:
Good Afternoon,
?
Unfortunately this can happen sometimes when roaming, especially if the SIM from your network does not have the preferred roaming partners programmed into it.
?
What tends to happen is that as the phone is switched on in the new country, it will automatically search for all networks in range and then systematically attempt to register and connect with all of them one by one.? Sometimes, depending on the speed with which the networks respond to the handset's requests to register, this can take a few minutes, especially if there are many networks in range.? It can also happen as the signal from one network disappears and the phone must begin this process again.
?
One thing I would suggest would be to contact your Operator and ask them for the name of the preferred roaming partner of the country you are travelling to and upon arrival in the country, you can manually select the network to connect to.? this should then tell the phone to keep with that network until it loses signal, but it should automatically return when the signal is found again.
?
Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html

Pete Whiteley

I have done the RESET of Samsung Omnia II. After restarting it, i starting facing issue on NOT IDENTIFYING ANY NETWORK SIGNALS.
Process::
Using Settings > Memory Settings > ClearMemory and by typing 1234 password.
After restarting, I started facing the trouble on Network signals. Its not catching any network eventhough other phones showing 100% signal coverage.
In intial set up, it is showing Data connection > Airtel IND
But after starting, it is not showing any Signals or Network operator.
I tried setting manually in Settings > Network Options > manual. Here it is showing either LIMITED NETWORK, NO SIGNAL OR Network registry error.
I tried changing Various operator sim cards but still same problem.
Problem: Seems to some important firmware related to Network is missing after reset. Please share the same if any such available.
Note: this phone I bought in Singapore and using currently in India.
Please guide me what went wrong. How to get signals on my mobile.
same here

I have this problem too. Could you solve this problem until now???
Dunno if it will be of any help, but you can try this method for hard resetting properly (that built in hard reset function is not 100% a hard reset)
Dial this code:
*2767*3855#
The phone will freeze and reboot.
Once it reaches the "tap to calibrate screen" do not proceed and just leave the phone untouched: it will reboot once more.
After the second reboot, proceed as normal.
This should really hard reset the device.... hope it will help with your problem
Hi!
I have a problem. The phone is refusing to get a service on GSM. It has just stop working.
Initial i thought it was wrong with my SIM, I ordered a new one and the problem remains.
It can connect to 3G fine, and sometime I can get on the GSM bands but then I have edge (I always use to have GPRS (G) )
At home I only get "no service / emergency calls only".
I've tried another sim from another provider and i get GSM from them.
My girlfriend has the same provider and she gets full coverage on the same location as me when all I get is "no service"
I've tried changing modem and roms. No success.
Currently i have CM7 with MIUI, problem remains.
Anyone has a clue whats wrong, my antenna? need service?
I have the following problem, when I power on my HTC HD2 sometimes does not detect a signal with two different SIM with two different providers. At other times it detect the signals with both SIM. If signal is detected after a time it loses signal (voice and data) and sometimes the signal return after a few minutes, in other cases it is necessary to reset the device. When I reset the device is no guarantee it will function, is a very random problem, both SIM work on another old device (no hd2) without problems. Normally, when it detect signal I can make calls, and after a few minutes the device can not make calls, falls silent and after a while you hear a busy tone, nor are incoming calls.
What could be damaged?
Hello,
Does this happen anywhere or always in teh same area?
From my side, I have a lot of problem to have some signal but I realized it was because my area was far from an antenna (even if being in a big town).
If you problem happens anywhere then, I would recommend to flash your radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
Hello.
I have a similar problem - sometimes i also lose my signal. At first i thought that it was random but then i discovered that i have good 3G signal but when i go somewhere where there is only 2G i have no service. this also happens every time it try to switch to "2G only".
I started noticing it after flashing Hyperdroid 3.0 NAND android on my phone in the place of Hyperdroid 1.04 (although i'm not sure it has anything to do with the NAND rom). I have tried flashing many different radios (2.08, 2.12, 2.15) and also different roms - both android and also the original WM6,5 rom.
If anybody could suggest something i would be very grateful.
task29, wipe all cashes & use more stable ROM
Dial *#*#4636#*#* phone information Set prefered network to GSM only, (or CDMA only)
Also press menu and select your band, rather than using automatic
For unknown reason, I can no longer get LTE after touching the Network Mode setting on my LG G6 (US997 carrier-independent model). The default mode on my G6 is "Global", and when I tried changing it to "LTE/GSM/UMTS" it surprisingly switched to 4G. So I changed it back to Global to get the LTE back, but it did not work. I tried switching the data On and Off, restarted the phone (several times), switching to Airplane mode and back. None of the above helped.
Have any of you having access to LTE (regardless of phone brand/model) experienced this?
I have also tried getting help from my phone carrier (AT&T) but the tech person cannot help fix the issue.
The only things I can think of now to possibly resolve this is to reset the phone and even get a new SIM card. But before trying these drastic actions and losing several days of backup/restoration/setup/tweaks, I wanted to get some expert advise from you guys.
The reason I tried messing up with the Network Mode is because I've read from somewhere that the Global mode tends to drain more battery (is this true in your experience?).
Thank you all in advance.
@sp_1st_timer what signal did you get now instead of LTE? By the way 4G is the same as LTE in terms of Band usage and speed. Did you tried starting your phone without sim cards and the then power off and restart with cards again?

It says "4G" on the status bar from the moment I first touched the Network Mode setting. It used to say "LTE" next to the signal strength bars. Also, my internet connection speed used to be 58 Mbps under LTE. Now it's only 23 Mbps under that "4G" status. I would not care about what it says on the network type if the speed was just the same.
I'll try that restart without sim card and report back.
It did not fix the issue.
By the way, one reason I think replacing SIM card might help fix the issue is because I know the phone writes information to it (contacts, SMS, etc.) and I suspect the phone has overwritten something on the SIM that is related to the Network Mode. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The sim card has an memory for contacts, right. The sim card dies automatically after x registrations in carrier network and the authentication is done against HLR server of the carrier. And the sim is related to access a specific network, but that's only related if your sim is very old. Everything else is stored in HLR server of the carrier.
