HTC Diamond HD - goes to standby during a call

I just got new HTC Diamond HD phone from Orange.
Whenever I make a call, the phone goes to standby and I have to turn it on again from the top.
This does not happen if the phone is kept straight, only happens when the phone is close to the ear (may be some sort of light sensor).
Please help.
I have tried a few setting in registry but it still same.

Try a hard reset. My phone was hanging during a call. After hard reset everything ok

That don't work, still goes off (light goes off), as soon as I dail a number and take to my ears. Phone is still connected and talking the actual handset goes off.

press the home button and the screen comes back on.

or pull the stylus out

Any more ideas, keeps it awake without using stylo or press home page key.

Firstly, it's HTC TOUCH HD, not diamond hd.
Secondly, I think you are talking about protection during the call. If u'll turn it off, u would press some buttons or even hang with your ear

Sorry, It is HTC Touch HD.
I have cound the way to fix it.
This problems is caused due to the light sensor. This setting can be disabled.
I download HD tweak form http://montecristoff.webs.com/ and disabled the light sensor and it all works fine.

HTC Touch doesn't turn off

Hello,
After installing the manilla2d, I have noticed my touch is not turning off after I press the on/off buttom. The screen just blinks and the phone returns to the today menu. A warning advice pops up on its screen but after I click over the YES buttom, it blinks and comes back to the same screen. So, the unique way I can turn it off is removing the battery. So, based on this experience, could someone help me to fix it? I have already uninstalled the M2D.. Thanks! Fabiano.

[HELP] Touch HD wont turn on sometimes

I have a problem with my Touch HD, expecially when it turn off itself when battery level is low, that when I try to recharge, the red led on the top won't turn on and neather if i try to turn on the pda it turn on.
so I have to remove the battery, press the reset button, wait a couple of hours, reinsert the battery and than usually it turn on again normally.
this problem huppened to someone else?
is it a hardware fault or just software (I flash it several times, but the problem huppen with different roms)

My problem is very specific...
If i press power buttom when touch hd is on I got sleep mode and then if press power button again I got it weaked and well working...
The problem is if it goes sleep mode by himself (after 10 minutos by doing nothing) the power buttom can't weak it ... I can still hear the sounds of any buttom I press but display don't come back from sleep .. And I allways have to take off battery and wait 15 minutos and then I press button and from new starts it weaks !!! ...
If I could change to block that so deep sleep maybe I can make it wake up by g sensor ... or stylus .. or another buttom .. don't know !!!

What rom are you using.
This happened to me with latest NRG rom, Back to Dutty and all is ok now..

I use old ROM RUU_BlackStone_HTC_Europe_1.56.401.0_Radio_52.62. 25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship
change firmware doesn't help

I'm having the same, if not similar, problem.
This happens when the battery is below 50% (i think).
The phone goes to sleep, and when i press the power button to turn it back on, it won't.
I can see that the back light is on, but nothing shows up on the screen.
The only way to turn the phone back on was to press the red reset button in the back...
I hope someone comes up with a solution soon. Otherwise, I'm going to be sad

Same problem for me....I can see the backlight on but the screen doesn't show anything
Someone tried to change the rom? I'm using Dutty's Holy Grail R0 Manila 2.1
I changed the power options...let's see what happens. Do you think that can be a hardware issue?

Had a similar problem a few times.Colud not come back from sleep mode.But if i soft reset the phone would start normaly.
Changed rom and no problem since.And i changed a few roms since then.

Sometimes when my topaz is off, it won't turn back on or wake up. I know this isn't a problem with the button because it also doesn't respond to phone calls or charging. The only way to fix it is to reset it by pressing the red button. This is really frustrating since I will miss calls etc. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? Please Help!

ive found that taking the stylus out SOMETIMES works...but as Bruce correctly said...ROM issue.

[Q]turn screen off

Hey guys!
how can I turn completly the screen off.
when i turn it off and I touch it, I can open applications, or even pressing the "Menu" Button. I cant see it , but i know it's there.
after I'm leaving the screen off and go to screen on, my positionis in the menu or one of the apps I've just pressed without knowing/seeing what i'm doing.
Is there a solution? registry solution? rom solution? somthing..
Please help me.
