HTC Touch doesn't turn off

Hello,
After installing the manilla2d, I have noticed my touch is not turning off after I press the on/off buttom. The screen just blinks and the phone returns to the today menu. A warning advice pops up on its screen but after I click over the YES buttom, it blinks and comes back to the same screen. So, the unique way I can turn it off is removing the battery. So, based on this experience, could someone help me to fix it? I have already uninstalled the M2D.. Thanks! Fabiano.

Is Wake on Home Button Push Possible?

Hey, did anyone found solution... is it possible to tweak settings somehow so that display turns on by pushing home button? Or do I really have to push power button every time?
I know of volume button tweak, but.. that one is no good (volume settings gets displayed)... Any other ideas, suggestions? (other than "pull the stylus")
Thanks!
Try AE Button Plus. You can customize a lot of buttons. I didn't tried what you asked, but it worth a try.
Anyway, take care using it.
I would say not. There appears to be no power to these lower buttons while in standby, so no software could work?

No, for the reasons given.
BUT... you could use MobileMagic to toggle the screen on/off when device is turned face down. That way when you turn it face down, screen goes off and buttons are locked. To turn it back on, turn devicedevice face down again.
You do need to go to Start-Settings-System-Power-Advanced and untick the option, "Turn off device if not used for", because if the device gets turned off (instead of just screen off) it won't respond.
I have it set to turn screen off on reverse portrait too,
so it turns off automatically when I put it in my pocket.
Im also afraid for that power button... used it a lot on my diamond so it got bricked, its so gentle... Im using it as much as little possible now on mine HD for that reason.
I have s2u2 unlock on stylus out, so I pull out the stylus, the HD comes on and unlocks. It's so simple.

Do you find this has any impact on battery life? If i'm right, this just turns off the screen but does not put the device to sleep?

That's not possible for the simple reason that the buttons below the screen are part and parcel of the touch screen, so if the screen is off, they won't work.

That is correct.
Power consumption, in this case, depends on what applications are left running. GPS, streaming video, etc would be a bad idea to leave running. But more workday apps use very little juice when the huge power drain of the screen is turned off.

Nope... I've tried that app. Its great for locking down the normal WM hardware buttons, but it doesn't have the HTC bespoke "Home button" on the list of configurable buttons.

[Q] undesired returning to home screen after switching on/off

Hello everyone,
Searched the forums but couldn't find an answer.
The problem is that when i switch my hd2 off and then back on after using Tomtom navigator it always returns to the home screen . It has to go back to Tomtom just like any other program. Any idea how i can fix this? Thanx
anyone? Help is highly appreciated!
Hi,
When you say switch it off, do you mean power down the device, or turn the screen off using a quick press of the power button?
If you're powering the device down, then thats your issue.
If you're turning the screen off/putting the device to sleep, then is TomTom maximised when you do it? Is it only TomTom that has this issue?
i have this too, its a perplexing and annoying issue that I have not come across on any other winmo phone...
Just put the tomtom shortcut on your HOME Screen! everyone has this little "issue"...but if you tap the shortcut it will instantly open where you left.

[Q] How to wake up X2 without power button?

Hey everyone,
I want to change actual method, how to wake up my X2.
... by touch on the screen or any different key? That power button isn't so comfortable
I found some tricks, but only for HTC... May you help me?
#2 [Q] How i can set auto lock? e.g auto lock after 2minutes?
Again I found solutions only for HTC.
Help is here..........
Hello to You!
For the wakeup, you can slide out the keyboard and sometimes the phone wakes up!
Other than that, nothing! You can find the registry settings for that and change it there. When you do, let us all know Because so far, nothing!
Then there is a program, that can change button assignments, but I don't know if that works for WakeUp..., do a search here or on Yahoo (don't like google). Or search the Internet per se
About the lock screen, go to Settings, AutoLock -check that- then go to the link that shows below (Backlight and Power Management) there you select the time ie. 2min, for the screen to turn off.... voila. When the screen turns off in 2 Minutes, so will the Lock engage!
Have fun!
