Hey there,
I've just got my Desire (yesterday), and it came with a damaged sd card. The phone saw it for a while, but after that a damaged sd error message came. When i plugged it into the pc, it was correct, but after it i just formatted it.
I went back to the store today, and i got a good 4gig sd (whoop), but i realised that a lots of apps were pre-installed to the card, like sygic full EU 30days trial, htc file explorer, etcetc, lots of stuff, and I think it's the purpose that the phone is a little slow, not so smooth that i was expected and seen on many youtube test vids, maybe it's searching for the app's data.
So my question is: Can I find somewhere the pre-installed stuff around the web, or can somebody upload them to somewhere?
Thx forewards
Regards

Hi,
Just noticed this last night. I haven't taken the card out at all in months but it now comes up as not found and I can't load any programs installed on it.
It's a SanDisk 16Gb microSD card and has been fine ever since i got the phone back in November or December. If i take it out and put it back, it does show up for a minute and then drops off again, any ideas?
I can still play songs on it on the Windows Media once it's been taken out and put back in and videos still play etc, so the content of the card seems fine, and with over 12Gb of music and programs, I don't want to reformat it and am not convinced that is even the issue.
Anyone had a similar problem that knows the fix? I have a feeling this is the phone at fault. The only thing I have done differently with the phone of late is to use it as a WiFi router, which does work very well for those that haven't tried it. Just wondering if that has cooked the phone as it does get pretty warm, but that said, all Opera 9 and the other functions still all work ok.
All help appreciated.
Thanks
I am having the same issue with my 8GB SanDisk microSD.
I would use a card reader and try to transfer all the files off and then reformat the card. My card has already corrupted and it is only 2 weeks old.

Hi guys
I got the same problem today...with my T-mobile HD2 used for 3 months.
This is the first time I met this problem and exactly the same with what you describled above. After insert, I got a minute to run program on SD but then it disappeared again. I tried soft reset several times but had the same problem.
P.S. I use a 8GB microSD, not the one in package......
Hi everyone,
I'm in a spot of bother, and really hoping someone can help to give some advice. This is my first Android phone, as you can probably guess, and I've been noticing some issues.
1) The first thing was the Martket not downloading, however after following some advice on forums it seems to be working okay now.
2) Today I've noticed that some applications are crashing. It's not the same ones, so far it's happened with Market, the internet browser, even some battery gauge which I installed. I don't have a note of the exact error message, but it always says it's encountered a problem with 'com.android.......' and needs to close, and then I have to click force close.
3) It's asked me to download an OTA update for the phone, but I've read mixed reactions on it. I don't have any issues with the proximity sensor, but I've read a few people have had the problem arise SINCE they installed the update. Would you recommend that I install it, or leave it?
4) The main issue that's concerning me at the moment is an issue with the memory card. I've had a few occasions where it's come up saying 'memory card unexpectedly removed'. I've checked the cover to make sure it's on and the memory card was in. At first, removing it and reinserting it, or restarting the phone fixed it. However, this evening it's not. If I put the memory card in the phone, it says it's preparing it, and whenever I access anything that needs the memory card, such as the camera, it comes up saying it's been removed.
I've tried the card that come with the phone, and that seems to work. However, I'm worried for two reasons a) I need to copy all my pics, music, etc from my old memory card to the new one that come with the phone, and I'm worried in case it might be something on there that has interferred with it. b) I'm worried that the phone might have damaged the memory card in some way, as I now can't even get my PC to access it.
If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I'd really appreciate it.
I have read similar problems with people changing the SD card before first use. It seems there are some system files on the SD. I recommend copying all data from the original SD card to the new one and then checking to see if you have the same problem.
I have updated my DHD over the air and it works fine
So Ive spent all day going through a lot of threads and posts and stuff, about the HD2 rebooting a lot and the only possible reason i could find was the memory card wasnt supported. its the stock 16gb class 2 that comes with the usa hd2, but im pretty sure it works because before i activated the live services everything was perfect, after i activate them, it reboots every couple minutes, anyone find a fix for this or any tips? ive tried formating the memory card, reflashing the phone, updating the radio, everything.

I had the same problem the first time I ported WP7 to my phone using the same stock 16gb class 2 card. I suggest you restart the process.
-Reformat your sd card (I did a quick format)
-Reinstall WP7
-Follow the exact steps to enable market. When moving the file using Touch explorer, remember to copy the file and not cut it..on my first attempt I made a few mistakes and I ended up cutting the file into the windows folders. Suddenly my phone started to restart itself every other minute.
-All apps that I've tested on the market works including netflix, youtube, weathebug.
-Zune transfers and playlists works like a charm!
After following these steps, WP7 has been running solid for almost two days!
I hope this helps.

interesting...i will try it again..
all we know stable is the most important factor, even than the market
I have this same problem. I rather doubt that copying-vs.-cutting or cluster size has anything to do with it, particularly as WP7 will reformat your SD card itself on first boot. Your problem probably became more pronounced after using Live because the SD card was being used to store the additional data/settings.
My opinion is that we have "bad" (perhaps insufficiently speedy) SD cards (I am also using the stock 16GB TMob USA card); haven't had a chance to test my theory by swapping it out yet, though.
Hi all i'm fairly new to the xda forums but I just recently had a strange occurrence happen on my S4 that I was hoping someone could help me resolve or at the very least explain it to me.
Ok well I have the sprint galaxy s4 with a 32 gb external SD card if i'm not mistaken. Well I enjoy downloading videos and files to my phone instead of using the internet to watch them because I get bad service where I work. So it's much more convenient to just download them beforehand and watch with no buffering.
Well after awhile of doing this I downloaded androzip file manager so i could rearrange my files so I knew exactly what was on my phone. Well as of yesterday my total space on my device was 16GB and my available space was around 7.2gb. My SD card as i said was about 32 or so and my available space was around 14 to 15GB.
Well I went to try to download a 4 and a half long video in high quality and it all of a sudden said that my memory was full. As far as i knw this video was about 4 gb or so...which should have fit on my device or SD card. Well after finding this unfinished download then deleting it I decided to try to free up some space on my phone to hopefully have more room. Well I googled it and alot of people said an app called SHREDroid was the way to go and that it would completely erase files that I had previously deleted so it wouldnt take up unnecessary space on my phone. Well i used it on my internal and external memory and now my storage looks really funny. My available space on my device is somewhat normal at 7.82 GB. But my SD card is just strange. I havent downloaded anything else and it went from that 14 or 15 GB down to 2.82GB.
How in the world could this have happened. I have nothing new in my external card as far as i know. Can anyone please help me with this?
Sorry for the long post i just wanted to be clear and concise. Please feel free to tell me any details i may have left out
Thanks everyone!
Lots of reports of bad SD cards, so that's a real possibility here.
But what I'd do is backup everything on the SD card to a PC. Then I'd format the SD card (Settings>More>Storage - Scroll to the bottom). Then copy everything back onto the card from the PC and see if that fixes it.
Is your sd card formatted to FAT 32?

Good evening.
Spend a few hours trying to see if I can recover my mother's phone files.
Issue:
Yesterday she said she can't see WhatsApp videos or images - new messages weren't loading. Error: Download Failed. The Download was Unable to complete. Please try again later.
She has 64 GB SanDisk SD and it used as adaptive storage. I checked her storage and I saw there was about 3 Gb free space on the phone, however SanDisk had only around 700 MB free.
Today I decided to move all her files to a computer (also she had Google Cloud photo backup, I checked and don't see any new photos or videos in the last few months, I am wondering if some kind of glitch could happen 2 months ago and now was the end of it), and when I connected her phone, it showed only SanDisk, no internal storage (I thought maybe because of adaptive storage it shows like one), but in this case it should've shown around 90 GB and it showed only 60 Gb?
Well I opened SanDisk and it was empty while it still showed that SD is not empty in ThisPC area.
I took the SD card out and plugged it back and some of the folders loaded. I downloaded some of the latest videos, and then found this video:
I did what it says there, however, external storage data system process could not be cleared, it was greyed out. So I just did Multimedia Data and Cache Clear. I also force stopped external storage process (and I think that part is what messed up everything).
Well, when I restarted the phone, all my SD folders looked like encrypted folders, while it still shows almost 60 GB of Data there.
I read online and see that Adaptive Storage is using some encrypted format and my assumption by doing steps above I messed up the encryption.
Question is there any hope to restore these SD files or I can forget about it and count it as a hard lesson of how not to try fixing SD card issues?
Also, I'm kind of upset that Google Cloud backup didn't work as I hoped it would. Any recommendation how to better sync and keep backup of all Data (photo, videos, apps, messages) in the cloud? In Case the phone dies or SD card dies, how I can just clone everything from a Backup?
Attached are photos of what I see now when I connect the phone to the PC.
Could anybody share any suggestions? Anything I could try?
