I was wondering if you could connect a real keyboard to your hd2 to use for programs such as word or one note.
Any info?

i would imagine maybe blutooth? not sure if it would require drivers though... search google...
Heres a thread on Bluetooth keyboards: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583553&highlight=diNovo
I can confirm that my Logitech diNovo Mini works on the HD2, just simply pair it up and it works a treat. Its a pricey method, but I didn't buy the keyboard originally for the HD2

Yup yup, I use mine on occasion with the HD2, it's not exactly portable but it does the job!
I use this one sometimes if writing a long email or word doc. it's a bluetooth keyboard but folds up nice and small

Use MyMobiler to link your HD2 to your PC via the USB cable and you can use your PC's keyboard to type things on to your HD2.

I paired my Logitech Dinovo Edge to my HD2, just for fun.
For portability I use a Stowaway bluetooth.

I was curious to find out if it's possible to use a bluetooth mouse from Belkin in the XDA II. What do you guys think? Useable, hackable?
You would need some software that makes a cursor, and some HID implementation, and make all this work together..
My only question is: WHY?
Why would you want such a thing?
I tried it with a MS Mouse, MDA can find it, but no connect , lack of Pin.
Mouse is a HID Device, think thinl MDA cannot connect to such devices.
I tried to use the mouse as a ramotecontrol for the PDA, but found no way.
what is HID? also what is SIP?
HID == human interface device
sip not sure i cant see anywhere in this thread where sip is written
so in what relation was it you heard sip
i mean if it was something your dentist said it would prob have a different meaning than if it was your machanic

SIP = Soft Input Panel ie. onscreen keyboard

When taking notes with the folding keyboard, it is quite an inconvenience to pick up the stylus, hop over to look up something, then go back to taking notes. a mouse next to the keyboard would make life much easier.
I also have the MS BT Mouse and would love a HID profile for the MDAII

OK OK!
Now you have a BT mouse meant for your PPC from THINK OUTSIDE, here:-

I'll get a pre-sample this weekend.
I'll try to make a short-review of this. And post it for you guys.

I would want it because I have gota Bluetooth keyboard which means I can word process when out and about when needs be - but the use of a proper mouse would make this a lot easier - after all - if my hands are on the keyboard, I don't want to be constanty getting the stylus or using the buttons as I am no longer holding the device.

Hi all,
I just had an idea: I was wondering, if it is possible to connect the X1 either by bluetooth, WLAN or USB to the PC and use the X1 keyboard as a keyboard for the PC.
I was also thinking, that the touchscreen could be used as a kind of touchpad (like on notebooks) to control the mouse pointer on a connected PC.
So I was searching the Internet if anybody wrote a software that can just do this, but had no luck. So my question is: Does anybody know a software that can just do this?
Cheers,
foo
P.S.: I know there are some remote controls for winamp & co but this is not what I'm looking for. Actually I'd like to have something like this for a much more smaller amount of money by using my xperia and a special software.

There's something on this very forum for a VERY small amount of money - all you have to do is learn how to search and it's yours. I'll even give you a clue - it' in the "Development & Hacking" section.
Go here http://t2remotetouch.blogspot.com
Is there a thing like that that use bluetooth only? like a usual bluetooth keyboard or mouse.
like that: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/features/bluetooth.mspx
Thanks kostis60, this goes in the right direction, though it lacks the touchpad feature which I'd need really badly. This app is more like "Windows Remote Desktop" or VNC.

nueUSBkeyboard is what I use - nt bothered about track pad - I think there is something that works with this but not sure of name.
And there's a paid for prg that works over bluetooth aswell but again its name slips my mind
Check out Pebbles. It allows controlling of the PC via Touchpad and Keyboard (Hard- and Softwarekeyboard). It is for free and works via Bluetooth and Wifi.
Nice Gadget but a wireless mouse and keyboard is more convenient from my perspective.
You could also use MS Remote Desktop Client to atke remote control of your PC.
Also LogMeIn works even better.
I think he is more looking for software to make the device a mouse/keyboard, not remote desktop software. These are two very different things. +1 for nueUSBkeyboard though.
Mobileremote by mobilesrc is what you are looking for.
Works like a charm for me.

MobileSRC MobileRemote Xperia Issues
Okay, is it just me or is anybody else having the following issue with the Xperia keyboard when using MobileSRC MobileRemote..?
When I use the keyboard all of the 'Blue' characters are displayed rather than the letters. The only button that also has a 'Blue' character assigned to it which works correctly is 'Q'.
The buttons without 'Blue' characters (A, S, D, F, G, @, Z, X, C, V, RETURN, TAB, DEL) work fine.
'W' gives me ", 'E' gives me /, 'R' gives me & and so on.
Shift doesn't work either.
I've tried pressing the blue button, Sym and everything else but no change.
Any ideas?
Regards
Sonny

I have the same issue, but the developer announced a new bugfix release in the next couple of weeks also including some bugfixes for hardware keyboards.
I had tried this application before. At that time, it didn't yet work well with the X1. Now, however, it's getting really close to being fully functional.. nice!
Current issues I find annoying:
- HW keyboard support (always in FN mode)
- Touchpad can't go fullscreen (except for LMB and RMB ofc)
- Connecting it is a bit awkward (though should be full auto in retail version)
I'll soon be buying a media center with my TV. I'm hoping I can get my X1 to be the HID. Little more fixes and this app will do all I need.

I bought the application and connecting works like a charm.
As I need the touchpad functionality most of the time, I bought it even with the keyboard problem - still worth the money for me
In case I have to enter something, I switch to the software keyboard.
try this
sailing clicker -
does exactly what you ask...with extra media player functions etc.

Aye, I'll be waiting for a proper release, might buy it then.
Any idea if this is added/supported in the Nexus One?
Would love to use my iGo keyboard with the Nexus One
Would be nice to use the trackball on my computer.

Not as nice as you're thinking, since the trackball is actually just over a dpad. It only registed up down left and right, not any diagonals.
GMote lets you use your touch screen as a touchpad for your computer, try it out, I use it to control Hulu Desktop.
Hi,
I was thinking to buy a Logitech dinovo keyboard for my HTPC
http://ces.cnet.com/i/bto/20080104/lifestlyerichblog_540x360.JPG
... but then I wounderd if there is any application for WM6.5 that could use bluetuth to control a PC keybord.
I know i could use RDP client on my phone but then I get the screen on the phone as well..
I just want to use my TP2 as a keyboard remote to a Win7 PC with wifi or bluetouth..
Is this possible, does it exist a program for this?
Look for gremote .cab or also nueUSBKeyboard.
Both of these are located in this thread under Utilities. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550973
I have tried the latter and it is what it is...just a keyboard through USB. Gremote I gave a shot...but was having trouble getting my Bluetooth to work on my PC...my issues not the program.
Touch Pro 2 as remote BT Keyboard
I saw an app (believe it or not) on the Windows Mobile Marketplace for $1.99
called MobileRemote that does exactly what you are looking for including mouse functions.
It uses BlueTooth to connect as an HID Keyboard.
It's from MobileSRC.
Cheers
You might look into GRemote, it does everything. However, just at tip, if you buy any keyboard software that uses Bluetooth, make sure you test the trial version first. I know quite a few of the mouse/keyboard programs don't work on the Rhodium because of the Widcomm Bluetooth stack used instead of the Microsoft Bluetooth stack.
Wow, Thanks everybody!!
Now I have some things to tryout in the weekend..
Cheers!
Gremote works best over WiFi. I use it daily on my media center and love it. I'm planning on buying the paid version soon.
BRETT
I love GRemote, but it's sad that the computers that I'd use them on the most (work and school PCs) don't allow me to install the necessary software!
Wow Gremote was everything I wanted!
Works great with XMBC and Aeon skin
Thanks!
Ah man..u guys suck..now I gotta try wifi with gremote
gremote is working over wifi...however I cannot use any of the menus or settings on host PC. Is this a Trial limitation or something wrong with the install?
I can open settings program from taskbar...but nothing further.
wifi on my TP2 to a Win7 x64 works fantastic.... Playing around for some hour and now a get use to use it like a normal mouse.
one thing that is anoying is that gremote on the tp2 always turn on BT,, cant find any way to disable it
I am using it to type and tether. I can feel the waves killing my brain cells but, it feels good. lol I might have to fork up the 14 bucks to pay for the full service just to get the annoying demo message to go away. now if only I could get it to work on my Xbox 360. hmmmm jk
the app rocks!
oh... but i did find one problem. when typing using hardware keyboard; I can't seem to get the touchpad to work. or any of the control buttons. "DEL, TAB, CTRL, ALT" anyone know what is up with that?

I guess I will just reinstall the damn thing. Flashing a new ROM today so lets see if it plays nice this time.
Is there a program that will allow me to plug my touch pro 2 through usb cable and use my touch pro 2 physical keyboard as a keyboard replacement for my pc
Not sure if this still applies but I used Gremote on my computer through BT..idk it works over USB though. Plus you get a touch pad and gryo. Good luck.
Try nueusbkeyboard. I work in the IT field and I use it all the time at work.

Gremote Pro isn't free though, and it's a bit overkill if all you need is a keyboard. And you need to install client (Phone) and server side (PC) software for it to work.
With NueUSBKeyboard, you just run it on your phone and the computer thinks you just plugged in a USB keyboard.

Mine just says "installation failed" nomater what I try. Keyboard in, keyboard out, plugged into computer, not plugged in -- always fails.
