Hello everyone,
My friend has bought an X1. After I saw it, my first thought was that the plastic coating on the acreen is not that "bulletproof" as it is on T-Pro or Diamond. I am *really* afraid that the screen would catch all the scratches in no time, even taking into account that it is recessed. Maybe I am paranoic but my first thought was that I would be able to scratch it with my nails....
So, Xperia-users, what do you say? If someone could compare the plastic hardness of X1-screen with an T-Pro one (or iPhone) that would be great

Use a screen protector, Diamond and Pro users use one regardless of its hardness
10x for answering,
I just wonder how is it compared to Diamond and/or iPhone? Even being a MAC-hater I have to admit that iPhone uses some kind of a hard coating for its screen, which is not THAT easy to scratch..
Which screen protector for the X1 ?
Link ?
Thanks
I ordered a 10 pack from ebay ....

Next xperia just gonna have to make there screen outta CZ. Don't know how the touch sensors gonna work with that though lol.
Maybe they should scratch resistant glass.
Come on, people, there HAS to be someone who can compare the screens of HTC-PRO/Diamond, Xperia and iPhone in terms of (anti?) scratchability
I dont know about the pro/diamond but I can tell from the iPhone to the Touch Cruise ... the iphone is way way more resistant to scratches than the Touch Cruise. The iphone if i am not mistaken is glass or something, it felt more solid. and the HTC Touch Cruise felt like hard plastic.
I'm using touchscreens for over 5 yers, and display protector is a must.
According to my experiences, one single good (=expensive) protective foil is much better than 10 cheap pieces. Right now I have a 3M Vikuiti ARMR200 on my SE M600i and Nokia N800 since beginning of 2007 and they (these protectors) are still like new, no scratches.
They not only protect against scratches but also against fingerprints. Even the touchscreen feels & works better with than without them!
The only problem may be screen readability outside (on direct sunlight) as ARMP200 is quite "anti-reflexy".

Ah, I dont really like crystal cases. I like to actually hold my device, the vikuiti is awesome but they dont ship to the us.
Ive always used Martin Fields PDA Screen Protectors on all my touch screen phones. They are good quality and let nearly all light through.
I have emailed them about X1, they say early nov
hi guys
can anyone tell me if the hd mini screen is scratch resistant?
thank you..
It might resist, but doesn't put up much of a fight!
I bought a used HD Mini and there are significant scratches on the screen, though they don't affect the usage when the screen is on; they do look unsightly though.
i read somewhere that all htc models that have capacitive screens ar scratch resistant..is this true??
Nope!
Unfortunately scratched mine while turned the phone face down...
Cheers!

My HD2 screen was a lot tougher than the Mini appears to be.
so the hd mini screen isn't scratch resistant...
I have two months with Mini without protection and has no scratch. I carry it in the jeans pocket
Just keep in a soft sleeve. It will do fine. It's glass. Unless scratched by some object tougher than glass. The ordinary pouch, fingers, fingernails, paper, and cloth won't do any damage.
Even if this is some sort of unscratchable super-glass like iPhone 4 *cough*, would you really want to keep it together with coins in the pocket?
Hello all,
i am sure someone has allready asked the same question, but the search is not working atm. so i will post the question.
Is the Screen on the Trophy Gorilla glass ? Many web sites claim it is , the most forums tell it's not ? Is it scratch ressistant, somehow. I bought one yesterday and the package does not include any screen protection. With my old Diamond 2 there was one.
DO i need to buy one for the Trophy ... they have negative effect on the screen performance, mostly, and i don't want to use them, but if the phone can be scratched than i will go for one .
Any one ?
Thanks !

Trophy has Gorilla Glass.Period ...
Its in the htc specs...why anyone tell thas its not ???
For Gorilla Glass, it does scratch very easily... 2 scratches on mine already, one of them is pretty big.
Actually, if you read carefully what gorilla glass is, you are going to see it does not include a non scratching surface. It's a very robust glass, that's all, hard to break, but it can be scratched. It's does not have the protective layer of the Iphone screen. So a shield is required.
It is actually supposed to be more resistant to scratches:
"Gorilla Glass features exceptional damage resistance to the scratches, drops, and bumps of everyday use. It’s thin, cool to the touch, and cleans easily – making it the perfect solution for sleek, seamless designs. And it’s sensitive enough to enable today’s most sophisticated touch applications."

the trophy is Gorilla Glass, and Gorilla Glass is scratch-resistant. You may not need a screen protector for it but if you`re like me, like super protective, I bought a cheap silicon cover for the phone with cheap screen guard protector. The protector itself covers up the whole screen, that includes that capacitive buttons and its so awesome! now I dont need to worry about wet fingers touching on it.
For Gorilla Glass, it scratches way too easily.
A month after buying the Trophy forgot I had the phone in my pocket and dropped the car keys in there. When I got to the car had a huge scratch starting from the HTC logo and working its way down (2 fingers length more or less). Pretty deep too.
I've always misstreated my phones, but in many years and countless HTC's, this was the first one to ever scratch.
ohk guys, how many of you really use a screen guard on your note 4? I am planning to use it without any kind of cover or screen guard do you think its a good idea? i really hate a sheet of plastic on this beautiful screen
I had screen guard on my Note 2 and by the 2nd year it started to come off so I just decided to take it off
It went about 8 months and it didn't have any scratches on it

Yes, I do. IMHO you should use it too. It only takes one grain of sand in your pocket to ruin your experience. I really don't mind scuffed back or sides, but screen is the most important element of a smartphone. Your choice ?
S2, S3, S4, Note 3: all used about a year each, not a screenprotector to be seen. Worked out fine. No scratches or anything to ruin the experience. I wont be molesting my Note 4 screen with a protector. If I get a scratch in a screen protector (and they do scratch more easily) then its basically the same as having a scratch on my display. Then I have to switch it every month, for what? So my screen looks great underneath my horrible protector? Meh... Also, I generally have bad experience with touch sensitivity/feel in regards to the SPen when combined with screen protectors.
Full glass protectors may be a lot better, but again: scratch it and youre walking around with a scratch on your screen wether or not its on the phonescreen or the protective screen over it.
Its like having a SWEET LOOKING toyota, but wrapping it in cardboard to keep it from scratching.
No screen protector nor case. I always had one in my previous notes. Let's see how it fares. But have one in camera lens though.
Note 4
Hi Guys,
I bought one of these Orzly glass screen protectors for my clumsy brothers Lumia 950XL mainly because I've heard of the brand before as i had used Orzly Flexy case for my Nexus 6P.
What is quite good about the screen protector is the fitting, the screen protector goes right the way to the edge. As the screen protector is curved on the edges, it feels pretty much seamless when you run your finger from the side of the phone to the screen. Small details but it makes a difference to how it feels when you're using it.
There's cut outs for the speakers and proximity sensor so none of that is obstructed.
So far so good, my brother forgets that he even has a screen protector on his device. When i last saw it, it looked exactly the same as it did when I installed it on his 950XL.
Overall I can't fault it and think it's a brilliant piece of kit for keeping the screen safe, so thought I would share my thoughts on here for anyone else looking for glass screens for their 950XL.
Here's some pictures I took of it.....
Thanks for this. I was thinking of getting some kind of screen protector but think I will get this one.
