Recently we have learned that, its not HTC Incredible its Droid Incredible by HTC. But, strange enough, the box dint mentioned about Droid at all.

Except for the fact that droid is not a motorola name. It is a name owned by Lucasarts.

"droid" is actually copyrighted & registered to George Lucas. Therefore Moto paid Lucas for the use of the name. HTC I'm assuming did the same.

After owning the first Android phone, I disagree with calling the Incredible a Droid.
Maybe because I think Motorola sucks.
"Droid" is a term used for a certain lineup of Verizon phones with Android. It's not a manufacturer-specific term, but rather Verizon's own doing.

The first Droid was the Motorola DROID Sholes.

Being that Verizon threw the DROID name around the Motorola Sholes, and never mentioned the name "sholes" everyone figured it was actually called the Droid.
The HTC Incredible is a Droid (confirmed by verizon).

Except that Droid is a Verizon name, Incredible is a Droid.
I love how many people reply with same answer, so I am going to do it also Verizon is paying for the rights for the name droid, not Motorola not htc, so yeah can be any phone that has Android and Verizon releases just depends on Verizon putting that name in front of it.

Hi Droid 2 owners! I'm from the Eris forums as you can tell, but I've run into a predicament. My Eris is starting to die out and has stopped doing things that I know it should (ex. Sending and receiving mms messages), so I'm thinking about upgrading to a newer Android phone.
My first choice would be the Droid 2, because frankly, the Droid X is gigantic. If someone with a lot of knowledge about the Droid 2 could provide some helpful information here, or perhaps in a pm, it would be greatly appreciated by a possible owner of the D2.

Hey! i made the same move, Eris to D2(global). Even the same reasoning, i didnt want the X cause its huuuggee. All i can tell you about it really is that its really fast (global has 1.2ghz processor, D2 has 1ghz) as in, WAY faster than Eris. Screen resolution and size is miles ahead of the Eris and i promise, coming from the Eris, you wont be dissapointed with the D2 or D2G.
I switched from eris to droid2 as well. No looking back!

Just be prepared to not have as many options for ROMs like the Eris did. At least not yet. I made the jump to the D2 from the Eris. I still surf the Eris forms. It's such a great and active community over there. The community here is really nice as well. Everyone gets along quite well I can see.
I've seen it's very nice here. Much less scary than the DInc forums.

Moving from the Eris to the D2 was like a night and day difference. The boot up time alone was just enjoyably fast, and the same can be said for every thing else. wow.
I hate HTC there making new phones every month or every other month which
has new software which is freakin awesome and makes my phone look totally
out of date every time new sense software comes out. I love my droid
incredible and I really want the HTC Sensation rom ported to this. It seems like
no one cares much about the incredible anymore because when the Sensation
rom dump and desire s 2.3 rom dump came out most people posted forms about getting that rom ported only for nexus 1, desire z, and mytouch 4g. We need to get more devs to work on Droid Incredible roms. Im not trying to sound pushy but we need this.

Ok, I've Made A Rom Named Espresso ROM For The Droid X. I'm Currently Making It For The Nexus One, Samsung Fascinate, And This Phone. My Plan Was To Get It To All The Galaxy S Varients, Nexus One, Samsung Nexus S, Samsung Droid Charge, HTC My Touch 4G, HTC Droid Incredible, Wildfire, HTC Hero, Original HTC Desire, HTC G2 (Desire Z) And Aria.
When Will Espresso ROM Be Released?

Well Ya I Know That. But I Created Espresso Rom Long Before The My Touch 3G Came Out. Back When The Nexus One Came Out At The First Of Last Year.

It isn't rom related but I would highly suggest you learn proper rules of capitalization and grammar. The internet at large will take you far more seriously If You Don't Talk Like This Because Not Every Word Needs To Be Capitalized.
