Two previous posts have mentioned my problem below but never in detail.
I have been getting an error message when trying to show the location of a GPS photo, shown in HTC Album, in Google Maps 4.0, 4.1 and the built-in version. I installed 4.x to my storage card. The error is: c:\gmm-branch2\googlemobile\src\cpp\common\platform\internal\resource_loader.cpp:14.
All is well seeking a position from HTC Contacts. The error does not occur with GPS photographs if Google Maps and Latitude are running when the request is made. FootPrints are shown in CoPilot. I'd like them to activate Google Maps but that's for later unless anyone knows of a fix.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to avoid the error without running Google Maps in advance of using HTC Album to see the position of a GPS photograph?

I'm looking for software real time tracking, which is comptible with new google maps and doesn't download all these maps from server. Just uploads actual position.
Anyone knows where could I find it?
Hey All,
I've just installed the most recent version of Google Maps (v3.2.1) on my Touch Pro 2. However, I suspect that it may not be updating the current location to Google Latitude anymore, after Google Maps has been closed.
When you close the most recent Google Maps, you will be prompted, whether or not you wish to continue to send location updates to Google Latitude. After clicking "Yes", GMaps closes. However, in order for it to be able to send updates to Latitude, it still needs to have some kind of a background process running... there isn't though (I checked with Schap's Advanced Task Manager).
Does anyone experience the same issue? Does GMaps use some other sneaky way to update the location to Latitude without GMaps or a background process running?
Thanks for any feedback on that matter!
Hi all,
I travel all around the world a lot and was wondering if there was an app that would periodically send my location to something like Facebook so family and friends can see where I am. Does anyone know of anything?
The only ones I know send GPS locations, but really need to send the name of my location. I haven't found one that updates Facebook either.
Also, these apps obviously use GPS for determining your location, but most of my day is spent indoors and I really only want this app to run once a day. It would be better if the app used the cell information like Google maps can to determine my location. It doesn't have to be very accurate, just the area is fine.
If you happen to know of an app that would send gps data to my computer it would be really useful.

GeoTerrestrial posts it online (privately or publicly). You can then view it online or extract track logs for your PC.
Not quite what you asked, but I use Google Latitude in the UK via Googlemaps.
That way the wife and kids can log on and see my face travelling down the motorway (assuming I have Googlemaps running).
Could it do something similar if you scheduled it to run Googlemaps without GPS for say 10 minutes during the day - presumably it would register your position which is what you were after?
Just a thought.
i use peep client on my hd2 but i don't think the geo tagging works as it should do or the same as the iphone or blackberry geo tagging. it can input a map link and input latitude and longitude but twitter doesn't read that as a proper geotag, when the iphone twitter clients geo tag tweets, there is a small icon underneath the tweet which you can click to view where the tweet was made on a map, the main reason i want to do this is so that i can use bings new twitter map feature, without proper geotagging i cant see my tweets on the map.
does anyone know if there is an app that will geotag in the same way that the iphone does, or if anyone has used bing twitter maps and has got it to work what app did you use?
TL,DR: Google Maps location sharing suddenly stopped working between two Moto G4 Plays, but they can still location share with me. What's going on?
The facts:
I have a Google account and am logged in to Google Maps. The same goes for my parents. I have a Samsung Note 5, they have Moto G4 Plays. We've all updated to the latest Android versions available (7.0 for me, 7.1.1 for them). We've all updated Maps to the latest versions possible.
We previously had location sharing working just fine, each of us could see the other 2. 2-3 weeks ago, they stopped being able to see each other, but they could see me, and I could see them. They can each successfully location share with my wife (Samsung Galaxy S7, android 8.0.0). When they try to share their locations with each other, they get a message saying that the recipient doesn't have a Google account, and that the share can only occur via an emailed link. That email option is only good for 3 days at a time.
I've tried fiddling with settings, reinstalling Maps, logging them out/in to Maps, clearing Maps' app cache, and rebooting the phones... No success.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any other ideas to try?
Thank you!
