Hey, I have havingt an issue with a random notification saying the phone cannot connect to twitter for updates? This error comes every few minutes and yet my twitter still updates fine in timescape. No idea why this is happening. I have also tried setting twitter settings to never update automatically but the error still comes up.
Any ideas?
Is it ok with the wifi connexion?
Because i have same trouble : ok on wifi but nok on 3g. And apparently it depends on my provider (bouygues france), and it's gonna be corrected

For me it does not matter. Both are affected. The twitter updates come through fine, but I get the error message in the notification bar anyway. Really , really annoying.
"could not update from twitter
could not connect to the internet"
is what it says word for word, even thought my twitter is totally up to date all the time on timescape.

My browser not working on 3G connection and no twitter connection on 3G and wifi Any solution ? Thanks

This happens all the time on the PC just with a different message like API not available or down. I get these sorts of messages regularly with various clients on the PC, IMO it's a Twitter problem more then a Timescape one.
My Twitter has stop working after some modification on authentication made by Twitter itself some time ago.
Only phones who got the first update (Brazil has no updates so far) had Twitter workin properly, IIRC.

I was getting the exact same issue with Twitter on 1.6 for the last week and a bit before I upgraded a few days ago.
Hey, I use the official twitter for android, and the widget doesn't auto-update, I have to press it and open it for it to update. Does anybody know the reason why it isn't auto-updating?

No, I don't think it auto-updates, which ruins the whole point of a widget (Atleast it doesn't for me)
Also, Timescape designers - could you please go to the linked content rather than the page on twitter itself when we tap on a twitter tile... seriously.. its so irritating

OK I flashed the 2.1 hero/eclair and didn't like it just yet so went back to the 1.5 hero build and I cant sync my facebook social network deal, twitter did fine but I hate twitter lol... i want my facebook... any one willing to see if they can log out and re-sign in... lol just kidding not gonna ask any one to do that cause I miss my integration, don't want you to miss yours... but if any one flashes a hero rom any time soon, and try to sign in and fails let me know, the error message reads as fallows.... The service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again? also of course I tried re wiping everything again and again... thinking it's an htc or facebook deal...
This is a known issue. Get the latest facebook app, and sync using that. It should work fine for you.

meant the initial log in part like after the google sign in where you have facebook,twitter,and the picture thing but I finally got it to sign in it took 2 days for it to finally accept the log in info
so i was looking at timescape and my twitter updates didn't have a picture, just a blank head exactly like the ones from my contacts.
i thought there was just a small issue. so i delete my twitter account and now i can not sync with my twitter account. this is very weird. i have 2 twitter accounts but my main account (the one i had been using with timescape) does not sync anymore, timescape doesn't even let me set up the account! however, it lets me set up my other twitter account fine.
anyone else got this issue?
i get an "Authentication failed... Connection failed error screen"
This just happened to me now where none if the pictures are loading, and when I click on an article nothing happens. It's beginning to annoy me.

well I still can't login with Twitter. every time I setup Twitter I still get the same error message.
I'm glad its not just me.
I've been trying for about 20 minutes last night. Even reset my password and tried again. Get into Seesmic OK so I've left it a while...
Still no luck yet though
I can't see twitter pics either.
We can exclude the phone bugs now ... pretty much the problem is on twitter side.
so it still available issue. I even formatted thy phone and even repaired it with update service. timescape will not allow me to login. I just hope Twitter didn't change anything and screwed up timescape.

It works for me.
timescape should be fine with twitter. but then again, it's only now working for me.
Anyone else having this problem with the facebook app on their HD2?
All status updates in the news feed appear to be wall posts to the same user (see pic attached).
Also Status Updates are just blank.
I've tried full reset, removing my memory card, and literally just installing the facebook app (from marketplace) and I still get the same issue.

same here, this was reported in the energy rom thread too.
seems to be an error at facebooks end and theres not much we can do....
I would recommend using touch.facebook.com in the meantime....

I have this problem, but it hasn't started working again for me! If I log out and back in, it will gather updates once, but then it will stop working again!

I have the same problem with updates, my app won't update at all even if I hit refresh.
log out of facebook and log back in every time you want it to update. or use your browser.
The peep app is up and running again! I'm ecstatic; as the app stopped working from the moment I got my HD2!?

It seemse it does work almost everywhere. Mine does not work either in WinMo, but it does in Android. Cannot login.

How about trying this:
1. Log out from your Twitter on your pc
2. Log in HTC Peep
3. Once you can login HTC Peep, you can start loging into Twitter clients on your Pc.
That should do the job. It works for me. No more "account is forbidden to access Twitter server". LoL
seems that those of us that had logged out of peep are still not able to get back in.
I get invalid user name and password no matter what i try. Though I like motweets better anyways. worth the 4bucks for no ads.

Yeah... Just signed out every app that i have, mobile or desktop, revoked access to all except Peep and logged out, but still no luck.

Perhaps you do use the wrong password?
The problem was related to some upgrades Twitter made to their servers.
They have been rolling back the change, perhaps the server you use from your country has not(yet) been rolled back?
Over here (me in Holland...) Peep has been working since sunday afternoon (as was announced on friday...)
been using the same login info that i use on standard web browsers when accessing twitter. you're probably right about my location not getting a fix for peep yet. probably.

Strange I use telfort as well, butt i still have te problem of not getting in. and yes I use the correct password.
I logged out in MoTweets /twitter, soft reset my phone still no luck...

ROM is same Radio is earlier (mine is later), protocol is also different. I do not know about manilla, but these two differences are apparent to mee.

I had to take drastic measures. Hard reset.
I guess the problem has to be in a application I installed (perhaps MoTweets!?)
Maybe de-installation would do the trick too but I wanted to get a fresh install anyway.
I use an original Rom. (last update)
HTC Peep works again, so i'm happy.
I heard that the fact Peep wasn't working, had to do with Twitter changing the way apps authenticated the username and password (from basic auth to oAuth), and since Peep only used basic auth it became useless on August 31th (the day Twitter changed the auth method)...
I am curious how you got Peep to work again, because it keeps failing on my device (even though I too am from Holland, using Vodafone)... so I'm just going to check if HTC has an update for my rom
Since updating to KF3, my personal contact (as in me) in my contacts list no longer seems to be linked to my facebook account. My picture hasn't changed and it doesn't show my status, nor does the facebook icon appear as a linked account.
I also get "service temporarily unavailable" errors when trying to update facebook in social hub.
Oddly enough, my friends' contact pictures seem to be updating properly, as do activities and media. It's just mine. Seems minor, but it's driving me nuts.
I already removed the social hub facebook account and added it back, removed facebook app, cleared data on social hub and contacts, and restarted the phone. It was updating my info fine before the firmware update. Bug?

A couple of us lost IM when we moved to KF3. With 2.3.4 rumored to be out in two weeks(ish) I'm not going to sweat it for now. It sounds like you found some more broken Social Hub stuff in KF3.

ultimately a small sacrifice to make for the better battery life and other improvements, but frustrating none the less.

Early in the morning I tried and it did not work, after about six hours it starterd working again, I had the same problem that you do, even I posted that I was having the problem, but after several retries it started working. I have the KF3 firmware, oh and I doubt we will be seeing the official 2.3.4 any time soon, , I dont want to flash this new device just yet, and it looks rather complicated. please let us know if you solve the problem, or it was just a samsung outage...

The official update has always come out a couple of weeks after a leak. This time shouldn't be any different.

Mine is working normally today! Social Hub gives me Facebook Updates and my contact picture updated as well. Odd. Temporary outtage?
