Hi
I just install the igo navigation on my desire, the program seens to work fine but i have the following problem i can get the aplication running on full screen , how i can do that? i can't find any settings on the program for change the resolution.
Regards
Quite simple you can't!
The resolution of the Desire (and the N1, and the droid, etc) isn't supported yet.
I tryed navigon and it works great. you should give it a try.
thx for you fast reply , dit you know when will be suported?
You can try this: download from HERE motonav and install it then rename the igo folder on the sd card to motonav and there you go. full screen igo amigo with a diferent skin.
Wondering if this really works.....
Had motonav installed on my Desire, but because the resolution of the Milestone is different from the Desire, you're missing a few bottom pixels/buttons.
I've already send iGo an e-mail but until now I never received an answer.
I've tried all the different best known navigation software available on Android (Navigon, Motonav, Sygic and now CoPilot) but all have there strength and weaknesses. I really don't have a favorit.
On WM my favorite was iGo or Navigon. Actually I thought I preferred Navigon but it didn't run smooth enough on my Xperia so I sticked with iGo.
But it looks like they somehow leave features out of the navigation on Android.
On android navigon looks great, but it gives an error when navigating to a different country then the one you live in (if someone has an solution please let me know), and I'm missing some information on the screen like how much time and distance left till you reach the destination.
CoPilot looks more for children... Big colorfull icons which sometimes interfere with the interface (eg the speedlimit indicator).
Motonav works great, but couldn't get the speedcameras to work, and it also looks a bit depressive with the purple/brown/grey colors. Also important information was missing, you had to press on the screen first to see that information. Not really safe doing this when you're driving your car.
Sygic sometimes calculates really strange routes. And the newest version 10 didn't work smooth on my desire. During driving it wasn't smooth at all. Even though I had turned of all the online services.... Maybe I had the wrong version. Don't really know.
After all I now stick with CoPilot because it has the most options I want, runs smooth, but for me it far from ideal.
The smoothest runs Navigon.
The best would be a combination between Navigon and iGo/Motonav...
But to come back on topic, if you've tried the solution of R3dD3vil please let me know
Owww I see the version of R3dD3vil is a special 480x800 version..... Hmm that's solves a bit of the problems
@Bart1981,
Do you have the 30 day trial avigo? Because one of the limits is navigation in 1 country only.
Let's say it this way, I had a modified version of the Navigon trial
But that would explain the thing
btw the file posted bij R3dD3vil works. But it's not flawless....
Sometimes some text and numbers are interfering with eachother. And the menueffect are not that fluently as they are in the original motonav file. But it works
I saw this was version 2, so properbly there will come some other finetuned versions....
any news on igo / motonav version that would work flawlessly?
Regards,s
yes, the motonav link from top is working 100%. i have it on my desire, and works flawless! i'm in argentina, and without it i think i have to drive off roads, in the air!!! this is the link
are speedcams working with MotoNav?
Yes , working fine here.
yep, for me too.
have you put them into content/speedcam?
yep,overthere
works great here
wow, that simple!!! Just took my maps,POI etc from another nav I have for my WM phone and it works!

iGO on Desire
Hi, I need some help. I installed iGO with skin from MotoNav. but I have a problem with speedcam , not to show my nothing. What files should exist in sdcard/motonav/content/speedcam ? I'm interested in the following countries Norway, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania. I have these files in the folder speedcam:
speedcam.spdb,
SpeedcamUpdates.spud

From what I understand you can leave the GPS on at all times. Android actually powers it on only if needed, so it shouldn't be on whe you are not using the navigation software. You can check this easily since the GPS icon at the top only shows when you open the navigation software.

Can you put at least a picture from your device when showing you at least a speed camera? And I mean not the speed limit signs on the device.

Has anyone tried TomTom 6 ?
hi, yes i have tried it and i am a bit confused due to the problem i am experiencing. when i start tomtom 6 on my mda pro everything is ok , but, it dosnt work in landscape mode..i mean i does in landscape left-handed but it doesnt work in landscape right-handed mode, why is that , is there anyway to fix this problem. have a look at screens on the website:
http://pocketsoft.1500mb.com/
cheers, cudo
Anyone knows where to get the TomTom 6 yet?
I got it running and all fine.. also i am right handed....I can honestly say that this is the best navigation software out there as yet!! .....great stuff but no inbuilt screen rotation like the last version???.... apart from that AWESOME!!
wbr
Is it much different from 5.2?
What new features are there? Is it faster?
MUCH faster, it loads in less thatn half the time on my Blueangel

Back to Universals...
On the Exec:
No noticeable change in startup time. Slightly quicker if its already been used that day.
I would say it is slightly slower navigating in 3d mode than 5.21, particularly off the motorway (i.e. where it has more to draw). However it is faster than the sluggish 5.00. (5.21 was super smooth)
Not sure if it's due to the massive map file containing all western europe, as opposed to a lone UK map.
Left and Right hand landscape seem to work ok. I had some screen issues after installing & running tt6 without soft-reseting the Exec.
After soft-reset, was working fine.
Navigating through the options/setup menu windows is slightly sluggish too. Buttons seem to need a firmer (longer?) press to register and action the change/change pages etc. Sometimes the buttons will be highlighted, indicating it knows you pressed it, but not actually do anything.
I miss the sharp, quick response of the 5.21 menus.
This might cause problems whilst trying to quickly change setting/change destination whilst driving.
i was really hopping that the lanscape refresh was fixed in this version but it's not. Just have to live with it.
Hi, can anybody tell me where I can buy TOMTOM6, been look very hard and cannot find anywhere, cheer in advance
Hi, is any body willing to send me the TomTom6 files as I still cannot download them.

not sure if they're updated, but its still trying to navigate through several roads which have been blocked off for more than a year (in some cases since 2000) in Brum n West midlands...so as far as i am concerned its the same old maps.
Further to my previous post about speed of tt6:
When only using the "GB map with major roads of western europe"...it runs a little faster (3d nav + flicking through the menus), than when i was using the 800+MB map with all of western europe.
I still think 5.21 was smoother / more responsive in menus.
hate to think how it will run with the map of US which is > 1GB
tomtom 6
I have the tomtom6 running the GB plus map. it defenitely starts up quicker and the map is updated with new roads
Apparently, the older v5 maps are not compatible with this new v6. However, as far as i can ascertain, the POI are compatible so that is handy. I will try loading those later to check for myself.
Regarding the problems some are having. I also find the start up time has been vastly improved in this version. I only loaded the GB maps so cannot vouch for the speed of a full western europe installation. However, i can definately say that the speed with this version is quicker than v5 maps.
As for the "Rotate" function, this is correct, it has been removed from v6. Why this is so i have absolutely no idea, as i found this feature not only useful, but it became absolutely essential. Due to the car holder, i have to use the Universal in landscape mode and rotated 180*. Therefore, i have to make sure that the screen is rotated the correct way before starting tomtom. TomTom will use the orientation that the Universal is set at upon startup, so if you forget, you have to close it, rotate the screen and then restart tomtom again!
Initially, this was a major pain. But i can assure everyone that it is amazing how quickly you will adapt and remember to set the orientation before using the tomtom. I really thought that it was going to be a major problem and was about to revert back to v5. Thankfully i stuck with it as it is a better product than v5 imho.
If you like this version, i recommend supporting tomtom by purchasing this fine release, thereby ensuring the continued development of the TomTOm PDA releases!

Since yesterday I have registered my copy of Navigon MN7 from my G900 (WVGA too) to the X1 (no problems, thanks to the service of Navigon).
I changed the files as attached. If you use them, place them in main folder of Navigon on the storage card and the ApplicationSettings to the settings directory.
BUT ATTENTION: This is of a german G900. Therefore it may be possible that you have to change some lines in the files form "Speicherkarte" to "Starge Card". I didn't look at this! After zipping them on the PC just open them first with text editing program and look if there ist "Speicherkarte" written somewhere in the file. Change this to the language of your X1.
My experiance of the X1 with the MN7 ist great, if you accept two bugs, it has now, even an update is announced for the next days...
1. You only can use WVGA in the Portrait Mode. In Landscape Mode it is only VGA. It works, but with a black stripe on the right site. I don't mind because I am using only Portrait Mode.
2. MN7 finds the gps of X1 at once with the automatic search. But as it is with other internal GPS too, it can not hold the connection more than 1-2 minutes. You have first to start a program, that holds the connection (I use GPS-Skinner) and then start MN7 and everything works fine. This is a known Bug Navigon is working at and an update is announced for the beginning of November.
If you accept this, you get a great navigation experiance. The internal gps is faster than every gps I ever had. Even my GNS 5843, which is a great quality product. X1 fixes faster and finds and holds more satelittes!
The speed ist great. My G900 (WVGA too) needed 40+x seconds to start MN7, the X1 about 15 seconds. Everything responses very fast. Calculating a route needs 3-5 seconds. Typing the adress about 1-3 seconds for response. Worlds between earlier versions of MN.
With this great internal GPS it gives a complete new feeling of navigation to me, and I use Navigon since a lot of years
first thx for the files, but this two bugs are crazy, specialy the GPS Bug, I tried IGO and Garmin XT, they both work perfect, without any GPS loss, or Problems with WVGA, so if you drive many in EU also East EU then i would take IGO 2008, they havr the best Maps there, it is very fast, and runs smooth.

i agree that Igo works fine, but if we compare maps like Italy, navigon has more streets in navigon in europe.( Latvia is very bad.) I faced this because one truck driver asked to fix for him latest maps for navigon and I was thinking that igo would be better and got for him igo, but then he started complaining that there are missing blocks of sreets.
In Latvia tomtom works the best. Igo cant find adresses.and has problems with routs
but still my favorit is igo

Hi,
I have installed Navigon 7 to my X1 and I have used the files posted here to see if it works, however when I launch the app I get the splash screen with the spinning logo and then after about 15-20 seconds that diapears and the phone drops back in the last panel I was using i.e Today panel.. but the start bar at the top of the screen has disapeared..?
Any ideas..
I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times but that doesnt help.. and the only way to get the start bar back is to reboot the phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
once you rebooted the X1, it should start without any problems every time you start MN7.
Had the same problem. Since reboot it works flawlessly.
Chris
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the reply.. Unfortunatly I get the same problem everytime I reboot the phone.. Launch the app get the splash screen and then it drops back to Panel but without the start bar.. Reboot.. start again.. and again.. etc..
Shame really as it looks like a good sat nav and would like to play with a specially extended trial version before I purchase the app
I've just signed up for the beta of telmap which works fine on the x1 (although they don't give you an option for it,so the stellar or diamond versions work).
You say you have replaced the three files with the WVGA ones? hmmm...
Maybe it is because of the trail version? well, doesn't really make sense...
One more option to get it running is, maybe, to do the thing in landscape mode?
First turn your screen and then start MN app. Well, you never know...
Chris
After completely removing the app and the navigon directory from the phone and then doing a registry clean and a general tidy up of the storage on the phone I re-copied the Navigon directory with its contents to the phone and then copied the files from the first post in this thread and I can now launch the app without it dropping back to the panel, however now it asks for a serial key.. anyone have a keygen for this app.. as its currenlty asking me to go to the navigon site with the device id and register for a serial..
hello,
i have the following problem.
i coppied all file on the card, then installed the prog.
i can start it from the file manager, but if i want to try it from start... and press the icon, nothing happens...

Navigon MobileNavigator 7.3.1 Xperia Fix
Hello Guys,
i had just installed the Navigon 7.3.1 with the patch in the attachment that the only one which works
copy the "ApplicationSettings.XML" in the folder: "settings" and the two files : "BinaryConfig a. CacheConfig" in the Folder "Navigon"
And if you want to start the program in the landscape mod you have to install the "MN7LS.ARM.CAB"
View attachment 7.3.1.zip
View attachment MN7LS.ARM.CAB
MN7 working now
Many thanks to rookie333 I was finally able to get the test version of MN7 running
Its such a simple solution. Shame on Navigon Support for not being able to help at all and for their product being so poor designed to not include 800x480 resultions.
Normally I use it in the portrait mode. But one of the many flaws in Navigon software is that reality view only works in landscape mode.
But when I switch to landscape mode the screen gets broken. Any idea why?
In comparison to Tomtom the MN7 is not ready for 800x480 devices.
The whole display is stretched in length and squashed in width.
Everything on the map is so tiny you cannot read it, so symbols and text are unusable. The great lane-assistant from version 6 is now a tiny icon on the side.
All together MN7 on X1 is a big disappointment. Hopefully Navigon comes up with some patches soon.
But as I know Navigon development and support for years now, that will not happen soon.
So I will stick with my MN6 on PDA or change to Tomtom.
Tomtom on the other hand looks like it was build for the X1. It completely fits the screen, without stretching or squashing. Icons and text are great.
Regards
pt
You have to start Navigon in landscape mode, but you cannot switch while the program is running. I don't think it's squashed or stretched. The interface is VGA, but with X1's high dpi, it looks good. The map is just perfect with the attached XML files. The xml files are from the Touch HD forum, but with modified BinaryConfig.xml.
Landscape Mode
My Xperia will not start Navigon in Landscape mode. It sort of freezes up the Xperia which then needs restarting. Is the CAB language specific?
In Portrait mode it is useless (see edit below) as the useful part of the view (betweern the Arrow and the horizon) is just a tiny slit shown in my attached photo. Compare that of the official picture where the position arrow is much lower down and the horizon is near the top of the screen as it should be.
On the Xperia, one third of the screen is taken up by sky!
Also the Position Arrow with its circle cover up important parts of road junctions making it hard to see where to drive.
Edit: OK Now I've installed it all again, and copied the XML files again and now it is much better. The sky only take up a small amount of the screen and the arrow is lower down. What is going on? Is it dependent on the XML files?
Does anybody know how to turn on TMC on Mobile Navigator 7. I didn't setup it during first install but i discovered i can do it ....
I don't know how to setup again
Finaly i have something else than wayfinder. Thanks Rookie333 for excellent instruction.
I successfully used your configuration on my Xperia R1A. Navigon now launches in WVGA portrait (but I am unable to run it in landscape mode, even with the cab given in this thread, it fails with a message "unable to find mobilenavigator7.exe", quite strange).
But my real problem is : each time I start navigon, there is no GPS defined. So I have to configure it, using assistant. It finds the internal GPS, and it works for a short time.
Then during navigation it stops working. If I check the GPS status, there is no GPS device detected again. I have to detect the GPS again, etc ... and it works for several minutes, then fail again ...
Any idea why Navigon is loosing connection to the GPS so often ?
HI
Can i know where is the installation file
Hi
Having tried TomTom 7, Copilot and the "try before buy" Navigon; I found all to be wanting in some way. I have not tried: Garmin XT is fixed to a SD card - I don't want to swop cards; IGO 8 looks good but seems to require lots of fixes.
Is there a GPS application (not google or similar online app) that just works from the box or cab ?
I like the google app but I don't like the high data rates which could get expensive when I'm roaming.
I just want a GPS app that has its own maps on my SD card (16 gbyte card so loads of space available). Does this really exist ?
When I check the official GPS provider sites (e.g., TomTom and Copilot) then they say their product is not compatible with the HTC HD - I guess that explains all the various hoops people have to jump through to get an app working.
I suspect I have to wait until spring next year for the app companies to provide a working HD compatible version ? Or, does anyone know better ??
Thanks & holiday greetings to all, Dave.
You can't compare Google Maps with a navigation solution like TomTom, IGo or Navigon. Google Maps is just showing the area around your current position, whereas the other programs can navigate you through the country.
As far as I know TomTom works just without any work, all others need to be configurated. How to do that is mentioned in the various threads here, so it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Come again? I've been using Google Maps for over a year to navigate me around Brisbane. (No that's not the country but I'm sure it's capable of that.)
Well I can use google to navigate as it has a "show directions" option. I know it is not as sophisticated as the other GPS apps.
My problem with google is it needs a data link which gets expensive when I'm out of my home country (hence need often a GPS) because I have to make a gprs link to have google working.
TomTom does not work on the HD - Version 6 fails to work. Version 7 works fine but there seems to be no way to legally load maps except the single trial map of one city.
Thanks anyway for answering.

I've got Version 6 currently on my XDA Orbit & was thinking of upgrading
Garmin Mobile XT works great on my HD
Cheesy Dave / Gulioth - I have used CoPliot v7 from day 1 on my Touch HD without any problems. Transferring it from my Touch Cruise took 5 minutes over the air, deactivating and reactivating (something you cannot do with TTN6).
It looks really good on the HD screen and is very easy to navigate through the menus (no pun intended). I am currently using v7.7.0.134 and ALK are bringing an even friendlier version out for the Touch HD shortly. I have used this, TTN6, TTN7 and Telmap Navigator in the recent past and various others going back to routeplanner on a Psion series 5.
Whichever gps software you use, it will always be "short" in some way or other. As far as the HTC Touch is concerned, CoPliot is by far the easeist overall to install, register and use with a touch screen & the maps are fairly up to date. I can also import my own POIs and safety cameras from TTN.
I also gave Garmin XT a try.
One problem though, up until now, i am feeling that there is Lag or the cpu is not following up too fast to show changes, so if i am making a turn in a roundabout, you can see a strange thing happen on the screen.

Thanks davast. I actually got a copy of CoPilot which was sold to me as CoPilot7 for windows mobile. It turned out to be the specific version for the HTC Diamond.
I think I will wait for the new version and double check this time that the supplier knows what they are doing.
Regards, D.
What's latest CoPilot version? Is it v7? Does anyone know if the next one is imminent?
I own v6 for my XDA Orbit 1 and will probably upgrade rather than purchase new version as think it works out cheaper.

Dealer = £59.95
I'm going to try a new one when I get a minute, beta atm but works on my hacked Hermes to wm6.1 and is nice

Hi Gulioth, I received version 7 "for the HTC Diamond" which will only load to the internal storage of the Diamond - hence, I returned it as this would not work on the HD.
I don't know the specific current version other than "7". If you have CoPilot Central then you should be able to find it. Unfortunately with the Diamond version there also is no copy of the CoPilot Central.
I have returned the Diamond version and I'm sitting waiting for someone (PLEASE !!) to make a legally correct version work.
If you check here: http://www.alk.eu.com/copilot/compatibility.asp you can see that ALK says the HD is not yet compatible.
I've been using OCN8 (on course navigation) on my HD for a month. It's beautiful and has TTS for enhanced street naming in turn-by-turn directilns. The only problem, out of the box, is it only runs in portrait mode, but it does it beautifully in all the HD high res glory.
There's a thread in the Blackstone section with workarounds for running landscape.
Thanks - that's a new one to me - I will investigate "on course navigation"
Ciao, Dave

Hmmm - this seems to be only USA & Canada according to their site:
Map Coverage USA and Canada.
The latest maps and up-to-date points of interest for United States. Full road coverage with over 10 443 000 kilometers of updated roads, and over 12.3 millions points of interest. Includes maps of Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico.
http://www.oncoursenavigator.com/ocn8_intro.aspx
I did not specify in my original question that I'm based in Europe.
I'm looking for a legally correct GPS application that works "out-of-the box" or direct from the cab without having to tweak xml files or anything else and which is recognised by the software provider as compatible and acceptable. TomTom and CoPilot do not yet list the HD as a compatible device. I also don't want a software that is linked to one micro SD card (like Garmin XT).
I believe that CoPilot will be the right choice when it is HD compatible. I like also TomTom but it seems so difficult to make it work - there are many threads here about the tricks needed to make maps work. I do have TomTom running but only with the sample map. Trying to get TomTom home to accept the HD and legally download new Maps does not seem legally correct now - maybe next year ...

Normally I`m using Navigon but Copilot is much faster and is getting quicker a fix...but it always stopps when the HD2 - after 1 minute - stopps. With Navigon it doesn`t stopp - do I have to change it in Copilot software or at HD2 ?
How content are you with Copilot generally?

If you mean it goes into standby, you can turn that off in the settings in Copilot. (It's in menu, settings, backlight).
If you don't mean that, can you explain a bit more?
Great - sorry I missed it !
Another question:
How do I get more POI`s ?
Are you content with Copilot =
To be honest, I've only used it a couple of times. I've always been a TomTom user, but Copilot is so cheap that I'm probably gonna get it. I don't really use POIs either. I simply use it for getting from A to B!
For that, it's nicer than TomTom. It looks better and seems more accurate (despite the fact that accuracy is probably very little to do with software, and more the GPS!)
I also like the pinch-to-zoom in it. It just looks really nice.
Copilot is much better than Navigon and of course TT !
How about your experineces ?
Sorry to hijack this thread slightly (!), but can Copilot be used for navigating on foot?
I am a TomTom user via PNDs in vehicles normally, and would only ever really use my phone to navigate if I was on foot - for this TomTom is no good with.
Also, on a related topic, does Copilot make use of the built-in electronic compass - ie. does it know which way you are facing before you start moving (again a key thing when navigating on foot!)?
Thanks in advance!

I am a TomTom user via PNDs in vehicles normally, and would only ever really use my phone to navigate if I was on foot - for this TomTom is no good with.

Yes it can, also by automobile, motorcycle, bicycle and RV (whatever that is).
I don't think it does work with the built-in compass, which is probably no bad thing as the compass is not that accurate.
I've been using CoPilot Live for two years now and I find it excellent. On the HD2 screen it's brilliant and is very smooth with the fast processor. Don't forget to also download CoPilot Central Live which is a desktop application that lets you plan your routing on your PC and send it to the phone & vice versa. You can download it for free HERE although you'll only get the most out of it if you have CoPilot installed on your phone. Have a look at the CoPilot User Manual HERE[url].
For the money, it's a superb bit bit of software.
Edit: Sorry, my mistake. You could do planning on version 1 of CoPilot Central but it seems they've removed that on version 2. But you can still plan journeys on the desktop using Google Earth and import them via CoPilot Central version 2 though in KML format..
Purchased yesterday, and for the price, cant fault it.
CoPilot 8 Live Au
I've been using it for 2 weeks and like it. Pinch to zoom is great and the graphics are better than TT.
The trial allowed me to download an Au map but unfortunately I can't purchase it here in Aus so I've loaded TT7.
Will buy Copilot 8 when it becomes available here if the price is right.
Copilot 7 was outrageous at over $200Au.
Had co-pilot since 3.5 days.
It has always had odd issues just as Tom Tom (I used the latter when it was Palmtop Route Planner and City Maps for Psion and Palm) has ... dodgy post codes and some addresses and sometimes very odd routing.
It is a shame that they have removed the old desktop s/w ... but given I have the full CPL6 ... I still have that.
In 8, it also appears that the free traffic camera integration from PocketGPS is missing ... I think they are going to charge for that when available in the UK.
I love the fact that in 8, you get speed indication for the road you are on. It probably isn't completely accurate ... but a nice touch.
It is prettier ... but slightly less configurable than previous versions.
Lock with the HD2 is incredible ... 7 satellites in my study when I used to struggle for a lock with the TyTNII ... not sure how HTC have managed that.
As someone else mentioned ... for the cost .... it seems mad not to enable it. I have 7" Sat Nav in both my cars ... so I don't need it unless I'm in someone else's car ... but it's still worth it for planning routes.
Perhaps the best thing is it's ability to have multiple stops. This can be used to guide CPL not to use stupid routes.
Paul.
Hi
Sorry to jump in here, but can anyone who has Copilot for Europe tell me if the Canary Islands are included please?
Thanks
QWERTY and Contacts search?
I'm agreeing that for the price it seems like a winner. I too am a TomTom user and have sat nav in all the vehicles I use regularly, but well always a nice-to-have!
Two things that I can't figure out with it though:
1) How do I change to a QWERTY keyboard for address entry etc?
2) When I'm searching my contacts - it doesn't actually search - I seem to have to type it in exactly.. can this not be changed?
Thanks.
I want to know if you can change it to QWERTY too.
For the price, you'll struggle to beat it, however I do prefer TomTom, the quick/shortcut button on the screen on TT7 is damned useful..
Also can you change how it plans your route, speed/distance etc the same as on TT?
I'd love to get a QWERTY keyboard on Copilot too! It does bug me when apps have their own keyboards in them. I can't see it happening though. REALLY would love to be wrong in this case though!
I've got a question about CoPilot.
How the heck do you remove it? There is no uninstall option in the Remove Programs
Can you just delete it from the storage card and remove the icons? This seems a bit ham fisted.
I need the space for my TT maps

1. According to the faq on the website of CoPilot the querty keyboard is planned for one of the updates of CoPilot 8 in the future.
Quote from the FAQ:
Will a Qwerty keyboard be added to CoPilot Live v8?
We currently have a QWERTY keyboard in iPhone and are working to add a QWERTY keyboard via a free update soon to Android and Windows Mobile.

I bought and activated the trial of Copliot 8 that was on my hd2, and I like it.... I've run it alongside Tomtom too and it sometimes chooses slightly different routes, but it's not failed to get m eto my destination yet. For £24.99 you can't go wrong. However There is a problem that I can't add custome poi's such as the gps pocket camera database... seems to be a bug with a specific version of 8, which is a little annoying.
I bought it when it first appeared in the early beta roms...
I really like it, although bicycle mode does seem to want to send me on some bizarre routes and round the wrong way on roundabouts.
and some streets don't seem to have house numbers (mine included)
I tried Copilot several days in Paris.
What I can say is that this software is really really bad.... Except you like to be lost or are fond of wrong way streets.

Copilot works fine for me too
#1 iGO myWay
#2 Aura
at least for me
I used IGO on my previous phone, but now I'm using Aura.
Both good, and always pointed me to my destination.
I've tried plenty of them. I think I should try iGO next as people seem to like it. Here's my opinions on some of the most popular navigators.
CoPilot Live 8 is quite solid one. It has a lot of features and POI:s everywhere. The UI is very smooth and fast, maybe the best you can get on phone navigator. The only downside is battery usage. From all the navigators I've tried, this definitely uses the most battery. I could drain almost 20% battery with less than 1 hour drive. So if you need to navigate without having a charger or spare battery at hand, I wouldn't recommend CoPilot.
NDrive 10 This is a real beast with battery, but it has it's costs - the UI is clutchy and laggy. Searching places is a real pain in the ass, because the keyboard NDrive uses is some custom one with strange position of keys. Some features are well hidden to menus, for example it was really hard to navigate a premade route. I would not recommend this program unless you need the navigating software that doesn't take all your battery.
Navigon After some difficulties with Gingerbread Android I finally got my hands on the newest Navigon and so far the experience has been good. The setup was hardest for all these navigators, as I had to use some quite laggy and badly translated PC program to download maps. Other option was to download them directly from phone, which was extremely slow and for some reason it only downloaded maps to another continent.
Navigon has quite smooth UI and seems to have plenty of features, although I am not sure if it has as much as CoPilot. Battery usage seems to be somewhere in between Copilot and NDrive.
Google Maps seems to be quite simple navigator and that's probably all what I need, not any fancy internet features as some of these navigators offer. The bad thing about Google Maps is that it hasn't got turn-by-turn navigation where I live. Maybe some day I can try navigating with Google Maps so I can tell how it compares to these other ones on the market.
I hope you got any help from these short reviews. If you need any more information, please feel free to ask!
Aura for me works perfectly.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
For offline navigation I use Aura GPS Navigation. But in my country I use Google Maps (brut for navigation ), it's the best.
I wanted to install iGo8, i did as well , but i removed it because of the lack of the possibility to move it to SD. If it's possible than please somebody tell me the trick, 'cause I used to have igo on my touch HD and I loved it.
igo primo +1
+1 igo 8 primo
Thnxx guyz for the response... I installed IGO .. and yehs it is good.. next thing I wanna try is Aura GPS... thnkx anyways
