B7610 IMEI is all zeros, hot to restore? - Omnia II General

Hi,
Recently I have bought serveral B7610 over the Ebay, and was careless not to check if IMEI are OK. One of them has IMEI which is all zeros (like ~15 zero's), when checking it by *#06#. It has also missing the label/serial on the back, behind the battery. Is there a way to restore the IMEI, and check for the serial? In current provider it works OK, but I do not know, if it will work in any other network, for example - while roaming...

It's most likely a stolen phone with the IMEI removed.....

Your imei would be different if you have had the device repaired and main board replaced. I had mine done. If you have had the device since new and no repair then that would be strange indeed.
Not sure what you mean about the No GSM but having it on tricolour (bootloader) ??
yeah, someone can change the imei sn to all the numbers he wants via some software now. But, stickly speaking, all mobile phones are assigned a unique 15 digit IMEI code upon production. Below you can check all known information regarding manufacturer, model type, and country of approval of a handset.
Tip! The IMEI can be displayed on most mobile handsets by dialling *#06#. Otherwise check the compliance plate under the battery.

My IMEI is different from what it says on the sticker

The sticker and box say one thing, but the IMEI on the handset is different.
All I have ever done to the phone was soft/hard (I forget which) SPL so that I could flash WinMo 6.5 following the instructions on the wiki, and everything has been fine since I did this back in May/June time.
Now I have decided to unlock it as I am on O2 with an iPhone, and thought I would use my HD as a backup phone, so I bought a credit on HTCCode.com after seeing several success stories, and it failed on the login with the software. No big concerns just yet, I emailed him the details to sort it, however as I was typing out the IMEI from the box, I thought to double check on the handset, and discovered they are different.
Is this something likely to have been changed by the SPL thing when I flashed it?
I assume I can get it unlocked via the IMEI which is currently on the handset, but I am concerned that this is not the correct one.
Any help?
TIA
ive seen other threads for other devices where ppl have claimed flashing hardspl has changed there imei number ..... just use the one ur fone reports and nt the one on the box .... no big deal
Yeah I realise it works and it's not a problem, but it may look a little bit dodgy if I choose to sell it.
The unlock worked fine anyway, just seems a little odd that the IMEI is so easy to change on these handsets. I thought it was supposed to be almost impossible.
Oh well.
You've probably looked at your phone's system properties to see what it says the IMEI number is. You can also dial *#06# on your phone's key pad. When the final # is entered, a 15-digit number will appear. This is a free call regardless of whether you have a SIM card installed.
As long as you're not doing anything illegal, you should be okay. Within the past couple of days, I read something about crooks changing IMEI numbers mostly with stolen phones but also to evade the law.
I registered my new Blackstone Clone with T-Mobile today on their prepaid plan. I asked them what IMEI number they showed and the operator said she not disclose the number but could confirm it if I, the phone's owner, gave it to her. When I dialed in *#06# (I was on a land line) on the Clone, she confirmed the IMEI when I gave it to her.

[Q] Fake phone?

Hi,
I bought a used unlocked T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 from Amazon. The seller said that the imei's clean, but when I check the imei on a site like imei.info, imei.info says the phone's supposed to be a Nokia N95. Also, when I dial *#06# on the phone to get the imei, I get the 15-digit imei followed by a "/ 4", and the Imei SV is 4 in the phone's settings. And actually, behind the phone's battery, the sticker lists a different imei than the one you get in the phone's *#06#, with a different 15-digit number and a "/ 3" instead of "/ 4", and using this sticker's imei on imei.info does show me that it's a Galaxy Note 3 with all the correct specs, but when I type this sticker imei into Swappa's imei checker, it gives a warning saying it's "Financed: Outstanding Balance (IMEI Blacklist)". Finally, after performing a factory reset on the phone, SuperSU appears in the phone's Apps list.
Should I keep this phone? Like, would there be any problems down the road if I decide to keep it and use it with T-Mobile? For example, even though it doesn't seem to be blocked/blacklisted now, could it get blacklisted later even though it's unlocked? Or possibly, is this Galaxy Note 3 fake, with a crappy parts inside like a fake cpu or something?

IMEI problem

So I bought an At&t branded s7 edge from Bestbuy (preorder) and decided to submit a request to at&t for an unlock code. I opened up the "about phone" and located the "IMEI information" tab and typed the IMEI listed, however I got an error that told me the IMEI was no a valid at&t IMEI, so i double checked the IMEI and it was typed in correctly. So I got to thinking maybe ill just check what the box says... Strangely the box has a DIFFERENT IMEI printed on it than what the software on the phone says. What do I do now?
Did the box have a seal when you got it from Bestbuy? You could take it to them and show them the issue to see what they say. It sucks that we no longer have a user replaceable battery or you could have checked under the battery to see if the printed IMEI matches the one on the box.

Yeah the box was sealed. *#06# also reports the IMEI the same as the software. The Box IMEI also comes back as an invalid At&t IMEI... I'm at a loss for words....

That's crazy! When you login to your ATT account, what IMEI does it show? Maybe try calling ATT and see if they can help.
IMEI Drama
I have a similar problem... bought an unlocked verizon s7 at a store kiosk in a mall in Fort Lauderdale and transferred my Alpha's sim to it. AT&T, however, doesn't recognize the IMEI. It seems that until I get the IMEI issue fixed I can't use MMS... Since I have a working SIM I can use the phone, but a call to AT&T support got me a response of, "sorry, sucks to be you..." I'm not sure how to get an IMEI recognized by AT&T, any suggestions?
I think the problem is that you guys are inputting the last two digits from the IMEI on the box, hence invalid output.
Don't forget only 15 digits from left to right!

S10+ imei - stolen phone - can we identify it?

So, I see previous thread have been blocked. This IS about a stolen phone, but not about stealing a phone....
My son had an S10+ stolen, and the insurance are not paying up.
He believes he has identified the phone on sale... saying it is unlocked and operational.
Assuming the phone provider DID block the original IMEI...
Questions:
Is it even possible to change the IMEI?
If it has been changed, and labels removed, can the phone be identified subsequently?
Can the 'new' IMEI be traced (i.e. is it a GUID, or is there a list of valid IMEI codes somewhere?)?
Is there a 'block' of IMEI assigned to Samsung? - i.e. if it now has a random one, can a random one be identified as fraudulent?
If it's a clone IMEI, can you go from IMEI to original phone model?
Grateful for any advice,
Simon
Hi mate
Tough situation....
To your questions:
Is it even possible to change the IMEI?
Yes , there are ways to do it but you need special equipment
If it has been changed, and labels removed, can the phone be identified subsequently?
Depends on how good this people are, that information is in the efs partition you need equipment and somebody who knows how to check it
Can the 'new' IMEI be traced (i.e. is it a GUID, or is there a list of valid IMEI codes somewhere?)?
Yes , there are pages like this (there are others), place the imei of the suspected phone there , usually you will get back information as if is blacklisted or to what phone model has been assigned to , usually when the imei is replaced this people uses imei´s from old phones
Is there a 'block' of IMEI assigned to Samsung? - i.e. if it now has a random one, can a random one be identified as fraudulent?
See above reply
If it's a clone IMEI, can you go from IMEI to original phone model?
Not sure what you mean but I think the above reply should answer your question. Each Imei is unique and is assigned to a particular phone , if you check an IMei it will tell that belongs to a Samsung S10 for example
If you have the IMEI of the suspected phone it will be easy to find out if it has been tamper with it, to find out the original IMEI may be another matter
---------- Post added at 04:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:35 PM ----------
With the page I gave you if you introduce your son´s phone imei it will give you the Samsung serial number of the phone, that may be something that they may have not changed, if you can get your hands on the suspected phone check Settings /about phone there it will show you the Samsung serial number.......

Hi, the imei and serial number is printed on the back of the device at the bottom.
Your welcome
Sounds very fishy. You can call carrier and report it stolen. Yes, if you claim u purchased the phone, u should have the original box with the imei printed on it
