Please need help !!! - HD2 General

Hi, i was going to upgrade to ArtemisV9 from Artemis v8. Had some stability problems with v8 so I thought making task 28 with MTTY. When I tried to flash artemis from the bootloader after that , the bar stayed at 0% so I had to cancel. Have tried flashing both via USB and from the storage card, but the progress bar never goes past 0%. When I start the phone it is stuck with the picture with hTc. Please help

task 28 or 29?
as far as i know task 29 also removes the radio. try flashing a radio rom first and after flash the rom.

Thanks, but i have tried to flash the radio again but i will not work. I meant task 29. When I try to flash radio/rom the black screen with hTc and progresbar appears but i will not start. When I start the telephone the wihite screen with green hTc stucks, if I press vol down and reset the bootloader starts. Active sync can´t connect with the telephone, is this necesarry if you flash from bootloader?

it's neccessary full stop! there's your issue. This is how I flash the HD2:
1. Task29 & radio
2. Boot into bootloader
3. flash ROM once it says 'USB'
4. boot first time
5. hard reset
6. set phone up
All works fine

I renamed the radio to LEOIMG.nbh and put it on my storage card, tried mtty again and then tried to enter bootloader, a white screen with Loading appears but gets stuck. I tried to renamed artemis to LEOIMG.nbh with the same result. If I tries to flash with USB, the black screen with progressbar appears and gets stuck at 0%. I have tried to flash stock rom with same result both with the exe file and I tried to extreact the nbh file and placed it on the storage card. Any suggestions how to get my phone to work.

Please
No one that have any suggestions? Is it possible that I have crashed the phone and that its not possibly to get any rom to work? I have Hspl so the warranty is gone.

with phone in bootloader mode.
what spl does it show exactly?
when you connect the usb cable, the word serial changes to usb, correct?
is your phone provider locked, and if so do you have the correct provider stock rom available?
do you have file extensions visible on your pc? (it isn't unknown for people to rename the nbh to "leoimg.nbh.nbh" by mistake.)
when it sticks on the white screen are there any numbers at the bottom of the screen?

Thank you, Im realy desperate.
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
Yes when Iconnect the serial changes to usb.
No it´s not provider locked
No, the filename is LEOIMG.nbh (if I take away .nbh it only says file and nothing happens from bootloader)
Now I renamed Artemis v9 to LEOIMG.nbh started the bootloader. A White screen with blue text Loading ... nothing more

ok, so you have spl 2.08.0000 which isn't hspl so the cooked roms don't work. . . and spl 2.08 won't let itself be downgraded by stock rom flash so they won't work.
connect to usb in bootloader
run hspl2
choose 2.08.hspl NOT 2.08.0000 in the list.
return to bootloader mode
should now say spl 2.08.hspl
flash your rom over usb
if it doesn't boot check radio

Freeze on HTC logo after MAGLDR install

Hi there! I have a problem after install MAGLDR :/ I connected my HD2 to computer with ActiveSync, runned ROMUpdateUtility from computer, on my phone there was a tricolour screen, then self-reset and phone is freezing on white HTC LOGO. I tried to turn off my phone, remove battery... I'm also turning my phone on with press vol down + power - I have 3 colour screen and now what? PLEASE HELP!
Connect your HD2 to your laptop/pc... boot it while pressing volume down.. wait untill it says usb in the bottom of your screen. Now you can flash HSPL 2.08 and flash a custom or original rom.
I had the same.. gonna stick with RAM roms untill this is nand stuff is sorted out
I have the same problem... but after reflash HSPL 2.08 there will be no change. Could not start the machine.
How can flash rom from pc without booting the machine?
I couldn't understand "Now you can flash HSPL 2.08 and flash a custom or original rom." the second step ...
solved!
I had the same problem.
The issue it's the radio.

Hi,
After installing hspl 2.08 and then going on to install magdlr, when successful and rebooting it just stayed on the HTC logo screen. It wont reset but it will enter into bootloader. How exactly do i fix this. I tried reinstalling HSPL but it is still stuck on that screen. How would i change this 'problematic radio'?
I relly need to fix my phone so any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Download a compatible radio (eg 2.15.50 in post above), boot to bootloader (switch off, vol down + power on (keep holding vol down until it boots), connect to pc and when usb shows on screen run the CustomRUU.exe in the radio download. (if there isn't one included you can take any one from a custom wm rom). You flash the radio the same way that you flash a rom.
Thanks for the quick response! I have tried doing this before and just tried the custom RUU posted above but when i run it where it says the image thats on the phone it is blank. Even so i click to update it and both on the phone and pc it stays at 0%. I don't know what to do!

Are you sure you have HSPL installed properly. In bootloader mode, check the spl version - it should show as 2.08.hspl, not 2.08.0000 or any other hspl version.
In bootloader mode it says SPL 2.08.0000? When installing it i did select the HSPL 2.08?? What should i do? Thanks

I had your problem and for some reason when I first ran hspl the first time and put 2.08 on my phone it said it worked but it didn't actually do anything.
Just reinstall 2.08 HSPL on your phone and then run MAGLDR.
Similar Scenario
I installed 2.08.HSPL - confirm at boot loader screen
I installed MAGLDR 1.13 with success
Flashed HD2_Core_Droid_Desire_HD_V1.5_NAND_ONLY_LEO1024_TMOUS to my phone with success
Phone worked fine for about a day and a half and froze up
Pulled battery and restarted to white screen
I can't seem to roll back the SPL, reinstall the MAGLDR, or install a different radio.
ROM Update Utility appears to start to work and phone restarts and I get an error message that the image is corrupt.
Any ideas?

HD2 wont allow me to flash anything, was running Android NAND

HELP my HD2 wont let me flash anything to it
What happened was, the phone froze so i turned back on and it just loads a white screen and thats it.
i can get to the boot loader, but nothing will flash to it and it wont boot/install the the stock rom from SD CARD. a bunch of red numbers come up then it goes back to the boot loader.
is it dead?
Remove the battery for 3 minutes and replace...then press power button (red) without letting go until you get in to MGLDR screen.
hi, thank for the advice...gave it ago and nothing, just a white screen
when you hold down and get into bootloader, you're saying you can't flash the stock ROM via RUU?
what happens?
are you 100% sure it's the right stock rom?
I would flash task29 via RUU, then try a ROM again (doesn't have to be stock if HSPL is on there)
on the "red numbers" does it give an SPL version?
i tried a task29 and it just sits on 0%
SPL version is 2.08 HSPL 8G XE
nothing will go to it, when trying to flash via usb it goes into recovery mode on the pc (the RUU program)
when via SD card it goes to loading...
then 00068002 in red pops up then it goes back to the loader (Serial) at the bottom
im stumped
run HSPL4 and uninstall HSPL, then try stock ROM again via official ROM,
you can also try flashing SPL 3.03 via HSPL4, then trying a winmo ROM.
same problem with my phone, but I got it fixed:

Loading Stock Rom

OK, so i am trying to load the stock rom back on my old HD2 to send back to t-mobile.
My phone has a broken flex cable going to the bottom buttons so i cannot hit the power button.
I downloaded the stock rom from t-mobile and have it both on sd card and on computer.
I can boot the phone to the point where it wants me to load the rom from SD card, i just cannot hit the power button to accept.
So i tried to do it from the computer. when i do, it just hangs at 8%.
Does anyone have any idea how I can put stock rom back on it?
Hold your volume down button down while you power,on your HD2. When you see the multicolor bootloader screen come up connect your USB cable to the HD2 and computer. Wait for the Serial in the white bar of bootloader to change to USB then run the RUU for the T-Mobile ROM. After you have flashed the ROM download HSPL 4 (linked in my sig) and run it but select SPL 3.03.0000 when it asks what version you want to flash. When you are done runningvthe HSPL utility boot into bootloader again to make sure you have SPL -3.03.0000. If you do and you should ypu are good for warranty.

Also I recomend you flash HSL first as it might help.

You don't have to have to be synced through ActiveSync you use HTC USB sync. Click on my guide linked in my sig and follow the instructions there on how to flash HSPL you will see what I mean.
I reloaded HPSL 2.08 and then tried to install the stock firmware via usb and it still hangs at 8%. I wonder if i try to install a different version?
I cannot boot from SD since my bottom keys dont work. I cannot click the call button to accept.

Don't you understand? You don't need the stock ROM, once you have the stock SPL you -should- be fine. Go to the tri-Color screen and download HSPL4 on your PC and run it and choose 3.03.0000 (not HSPL) and click next and it should flash. If you've done that then you're ready to send it off for warranty. No need for stock ROM. Just change the HSPL to SPL again which TMagnolia and I just told you how to do.
Oh yeah and you can easily get to the tri-color by plugging the USB in and holding the Vol down button.

Awesome! Thank you, no I was not understanding...very new at this. Thank you!
Quick question to add... there is no rom on there at all now....do i need to install one for warrenty?
The green square still says "upgrade rom code error" please try again
They won't power the phone on to see if theres a ROM and if they do it'll boot to SPL in which case I'd say they'd flash a stock ROM. What green box?

I think they do not have a stock ROM on the HD2 and I was stupid and did not realize they probably already had HSPL on thier HD2. So they are not good to go for warranty just yet.
At the OP try right clicking on the RUU and select run as administrator. Also try different USB ports too that might help.

I would still try to get the stock ROM on the HD2 before sending it in cause I can assure you if they will turn the phome on and check the ROM and SPL. and if they have SPL 3.03.000 and not SPL 2.10.0000 they will say why iscthat cause it looks like they were tring to update the phone and sould not have SPL 3.03.0000. Then they will probably say they either did not preform the flash correctly or had un approved software on the phone and will not pass it as warranty.

Yes that is the RUU, right click it and select run as adminastrator, Skellyyy is right too you need to use the HSPL 4 Utility to reset your HSPL to SPL 3.03.0000 if you get the ROM to flash

[Q] Flashing Problem

Hi all,
I would like to ask someone who are willing to lend me a hand.
Here comes the problem:
1. I wanna flash a NAND Android into my HD2 (not Tmous)
2. I have already flashed with HSPL2 with selection of 2.08 HSPL.
3. It went through to Windows Mobile again, nothing goes wrong untill when I am trying to flash with Magldr Bootloader with ROM Update Utility.
4. It went through again, after that the phone reboot itself and it should be displaying Magldr bootloader instead of HTC green logo stuck at the WHITE SCREEN.
5. I've tried several ways to solve it including soft-reset but still nothing happen with the same problem which is the green HTC logo stuck at the white screen.
6. Even Hard-reset with factory default reset I have tried, the process went through, but still the same problem again (YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT I MEANT).
7. So, I tried another LeoAdvanceRUU.exe which @HD2Owner had posted few months ago, the flashing process worked through but it stucked at the 0% with HTC logo at BLACK screen.
8. I kept on trying with another ROM or Radio Flashing again, again and again and it is still stucked at 0% !!! (GOSH !! I'm going to be crazy)
I really hope someone can help me out of this as I am very appreciate to those who are willing to help me. I need the phone to deal with my daily usage, please the 'PRO's out there.. ><
Thanks in advance.
P/S: The Tri-Color mode showed PB8100 - SS-BC

In that case double check the spl version in bootloader. Quite often people flash "2.08.0000" by mistake instead of "2.08.hspl"
(You did instal hspl before trying the radio, right? Radios news hspl too)

yea i did install the HSPL before flashing the radio and it is done with 2.08 HSPL
but what do u mean by Radios news HSPL?
when I am flashing the radio in the bootloader, I used the common flashing technique which is using the CustomRUU with the RUU_Signed.nbh file which contains Radio 2.14.50 and then the only the problem came out.
by means every ROM that I am trying to flash, It will still stuck at 0% Black Screen with HTC logo..
oops, radios NEED hspl , lol, darned predictive txt!
ok, so sounds more like usb timeout,
enter bootloader, connect usb, count to 5, run customruu.
If that still wont work, you can flash radios from sd, just like roms. Put teh ruu_signed.nbh onto sd card, renamed leoimg.nbh, reboot into bootloader, phone will see the .nbh and flash it.

erm, is the flashing will do it automatically itself ?? because I am still not able to boot into whatever OS yet. And do i need to connect the USB when the leoimg.nbh flashing if its working itself ??
no, no usb needed, put the leoimg on the sd card, card into phone, power on phone holding voldown, bootloader finds the leoimg on the card and starts the flashing process.

Make sure you’ve got more than 50% power on the device.
• Unplug USB cable
• Power Off device.
• Press and hold volume down button and press power button to start again.
• You will be presented with a tricolor splash screen.
• Connect USB cable to PC
• On the Tricolor splash screen you see “serial”; change to “usb”, if not unplug and plug the cable back in.
• As Administrator Run the WM6.5 ROM Update and follow instructions, your device should now be flashed with WM6.5.

I'd suggest task 29 to wipe the phone completly. Then make sure you have the correct stock rom for your phone. EG if you bought a EURO o2 HD2 then you need to have the o2 3.14 stock rom. Extract the .nbh file from the .exe.
Use SD Formatter to format your SD card, this will wipe all windows 7 partitions.
Then copy .nbh file and place it on the sd card, then boot into boot loader (tri colour screen) and follow on screen instructions. A grey screen should appear at this point.
This will remove Hard spl and restore WM 6.5 and also restore the first of the two splash screens and the radio back to factory settings and will also restore your warrently as well.

No but it is all over XDA. I think you'll find it someware on the WM 6.5 thread. If that doesn't work your nand will be stuffed but it has allways worked for me!

cannot believe i messed it up.......
know where i can send it for repair? will HTC cover it under warranty? will they be suspicious?
anyone? do i need to ring my phone contract people or go directly to HTC?
Thanks
Depends how old it is. It may need to go directly to HTC to get it fixed.
I read somewhere that error [290]: Invalid Command - the ROM Update Utility has encountered communication errors during the update process.
Try changing the usb cable/connect directly to usb port (not usb hub) if you still want to use usb for flashing.
I always use the sdcard method when there's a problem flashing via usb. Rename RUU_signed.nbh (extract from stock rom exe package) to LEOIMG.nbh and copy the file to sdcard (sdcard MUST be formatted as FAT32 - use HP format tool). Put sdcard into the phone and boot into bootloader mode ... see if it works ...
