I still wish there was an actual FM radio on the liquid for those times or areas that don't have data connections. It uses way less power than streaming over 3G too.
So, I guess there is no way of using the liquid as a FM radio without a data conection.

not for now... maybe when acer releases kernel both for eclair/froyo liquid AND stream, since stream has the radio app and must have the drivers for it to work (not sure if its the same chipset though)

I'm not too sure what you mean there, but you can listen to internet radio from the UK at www.radiofeeds.co.uk/pda
Thanks for the replies, working nicely on both Wifi and GPRS.
well i meant that i want to listen to Internet Radio stations and DAB Stations that broadcast on the net on my MDA? is that possible?
check out www.orb.com as you can not only listen to radio but also watch TV. If you hook your webcam and sky up to your pc at home you can watch both from anywhere in the world and it's free.

Yes. You might need to install additional players such as RealOne and TCPMP, depending on the stream format.
DAB stations are included in the site mentioned.

I wish that were true. As of 31 March,2006 UK/Irish radio stations can no longer stream their broadcasts outside the UK without having to pay the PPL more money.
What's the point of having internet streaming when it's only in the UK.
What we need is someone to run a nice proxy for these streams (wink wink, nudge nudge) for the entire world to access.
I personally listen to MMM (TripleM) out of Austraila with WMPlayer on my MDA.
http://www.mrock.com.au/2mmmlivestream.asx
There are four stations that stream, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and
Adelaide.
Otherwise I use MortPlayer to listen to Shoutcast streams.

Is it just possible to have an FM radio on the O2 Mini S? I know many would like to have it... wonder why it wasn't included. Any solutions... thanks.
try http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pda/ , I stream fm radio through my mda all the time
Thanks but...
Thanks for the information. But I would like to listen to my local FM channels. Without streaming them... any suggestions for that?
It's not possible, as there's no FM receiver hardware in the Wizard...
OIC
Oh ok... probably have to look for and external handsfree with an FM radio... pity... got everything... but...
you could always buy something like this and use a jack adaptor on the mda http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stereo-Earpho...37QQihZ016QQcategoryZ3274QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
You can certainly do it with BBC radio stations which include local like merseyside, manchester, leeds etc. Use Real Player.

Hi I want to ask you about your FM radio - do you have so poor signal as mine - on my old SE P1i I could find plenty of radio stations - on HD2 with with the same headphones - I can find only ONE in mono mode only!!
Is something wrong with my HD2 or it is typical problem of this model??

Mine works great....
i have the same problem with FM reception, i finally gave up and now have switched to internet radio thanks to skyfire.
Pretty crappy here as well.

that really depends on the kind of data plan you have with the network provider. if u r not on an unlimited plan it might not be the most economical choice.

Yeep but this stations wich I find manually are still with poor quality of signal so this is not a solution ;(
Same problem -- I used a Touch HD for 18 months and the radio was great. I use it every morning while walking the dogs. But, on the HD2 the radio is noticeably less sensitive and there's intermittent interference on stations that the HD pulled in clearly. I'm using the same wired headset on both.
Since I still have the HD, does anybody think it's a software issue? Or is it in the hardware? Could I copy the radio software from the HD to the HD2?
Thanks
yes I found the same thing between the hd and hd2 radios.
I don't bother using the radio on the hd2 because it's so weak.
Would love a solution to have it working well ie not just streaming instead.
Hey guys, ive tried several roms and several radios but all i get is static when using the fm radio app. I have the tmous leo btw. Any suggestions?

Have you tried going out of the house? The reception is pretty bad, especially if you live in a badly covered area.
Try with other headphones too, they're the FM antenna.
Well, coverage in my area is fine. Radio worked fine in winmo. I dont mind too much giving it up but it was nice at the gym (they broadcast the tv audio over short range fm). Oh well...
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Try another rom, it'll probably work. MIUI developed the (custom) radio framework, so I guess your best shot is a MIUI rom. I know my CM7 radio works fine too though.
switch stations and back again.
on mine (cyano mod) when i start the radio, and bluetooth enables (dont know why it should, id rather it didnt) the station comes on but static, switch to different preset and back again and it comes through clear. (Well as clear as can be expected with teh worlds worst fm radio)
My suspicion is the radio blast of interference as the bluetooth fires up.
Hello xda,
I want to ask you about FM transmitters. I couldn't find anything worth reading about it. S4 doesn't even have a FM Reciever, what I want to know about is if any accessory that would transmit FM radio waves and suitable with S4 exists? All ideas are welcomed, thanks...
P.S.: I have an old car with an old radio, i want to transmit fm waves and listen to songs in my cars audio system, thanks...
No one? So there are no accessories for that? (Sorry I looked it up on Google, didn't find many resources)
Sorry
It wont work.Because It don't have Hardware resources
:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Nooooo... lol thanks for reply anyways...

If I understood well what you want to do you can use devices like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-3-...449?pt=US_FM_Transmitters&hash=item2c7128a269
I have one similar, but it's broken, used to work like a charm on my laptop , I plugged it and then listened to my music on the car, was great , Hope this solves your issue!! But if it's about S4 receiving FM radio, I'm sorry, but I don't believe it can work . But you can get some apps like TuneIn Radio and listen to some great Internet Radio
I already use tune in no its about transmitting, thanks that may do..
