Nexus One Battery Issue - Weird Problem - Nexus One General

Hey I've been noticing a weird problem with my nexus one. I usually charge it over night so by the morning it's at 100%. I rarely let my phone die completely as I'm in and out of the house all the time. so i charge it when im home. however i noticed that when it does die completely, my battery level will say 30% 40% charged and then it'll suddenly die while im using it. i downloaded a battery widgit as well to make sure it wasnt just the system's battery charge indicator. the widget will also say the batter is charged 30% 40% and then the phone will suddenly die. When i plug the phone in and turn it on, then the battery level will say 1%. this has happened to me on both the stock nexus one and now im using the modaco sense rom, and same thing. any insight on my mystery?

Try going into recovery and wiping the battery stats.

After wiping battery stats, charge the phone completely while it is off until the light turns green (this will take a few hours). This may solve the problem. I had battery issues too, but after doing this, it fixed it. Good Luck

so i tried both suggestions; wiped the battery stats in the recovery. and charged phone to full. tried it out for 3 days. and no results. my battery level indicator is still inaccurate. any suggestions?

nexus one only charging 36%?

My nexus one battery indicator has been inaccurate; so i decided to download battery graph. Battery Graph showed that when the phone is dead and i charge it, the battery charges to 36% and then jumps straight to 100. and everytime the phone dies the battery level descends down to 64% and then drops straight to 0%. so basically charges up to 36% and dies at 64% - both ways its only 36% charge. anyone have any clue as to what might be going on? or should i just call up htc?
no idea.
Go into recovery and wipe your battery stats.
thanks bro, but i tried that multiple times and im getting the same results.. this has happened so far on modaco sense rom; should i flash something else?
flash it with another rom, sound like a rom issue to me...
Or flash the same one again, sometimes you gotta try her a couple times before you get a clean flash.
thanks for the advice guys; ill try reflashing the rom first; but i remember having this same issue on stock and cyanogen rom. just didnt quite catch that it was charging 36%
I had a similar problem where my battery would never charge above a certain point. Started only charging to 80%, then 60%, then 40%, then 20% and eventually would only charge to 2%. I ended getting google to send me a new battery which they do as part of the warranty. You don't have to send the phone to them.
so im guessing it was the battery, in ur case? i guess i shud give google a call tomorrow

battery not charging to 100%

new to the atrix.
I installed the latest oat update, and the phone was @ 70% after charging all night. I also noticed it discharge updates only by 10% increments.
I installed the homepage Rom, and it charged overnight to 93%.
I've applied the battery fix, but that only seems to stabilize the display (I noticed it fluctuating before the fix)
is there a fix? I've done calibrations on phones, but I needed to get 100% and the charge while off. Not sure how I can calibrate if I can't get a full charge while on.
Use recovery to wipe battery stats. If it still fails to display 100% when charged shut the phone off. Take the battery out, then plug the phone in. Wait until the "?" on the battery shows up. Then put the battery in while it is still plugged in. Leave it like that for about 30 mins. When you click the volume button the battery will show only 5-10%, but turn the phone on and it should read 100%.

I'll try that. I already wiped battery a couple times in cwn
OK, then the 2nd part should do the trick. It works for me anyways. Once you do see 100%, wipe batt stats again and let the battery die, then charge while the phone is off. Should fix you up.

You might have to wipe battery stats several times. I had an out of the ordinary calibration problem between flashing roms and had to wipe everything several times before it started working properly. Also note, that charging up to 95%-99%, and unplugging and plugging back in and slowly charging past 95% is common and not a problem. The software is estimating battery charge. And if you do charge past 95% and unplug its ok if it quickly goes back down to 95% and then tapers slowly.
I voided my warranty and your mum.
You have to wait for battery to go beyond 95%.
It takes time but it goes their.
My personal experience.
Just drain the battery til it dies. Then plug it in over night while you sleep. Once you wake up wipe battery stats and everything should be good.

I think he has tried both of these methods. I know I did. What I told him to do was the only thing that worked for me.
OK J, it looks like that fixed it.
Although battery showed 4169, and I saw others with 4200
Thanks issued!
try discharging until the phone shuts off and charging it again without turning it off.

Hmm...battery should show 4203 when fully charged. Mine has actually displayed 4205 a couple of times.

I'm going to try it again. I tried a different rom, and it only went to 92%. I redid the battery pull and Saw 4185.

Massive Battery Drain in 4.4.2

Does anyone else have a massive battery drain in Kit Kat? I can charge my Nexus to 100% and in an hour or two it's completely dead with blinking red light. I tried restarting to bootloader when it was at 5% but it was still on for like a half hour. Once I restarted my phone, my battery read 0%. I'm thinking it may be time to change the battery if no one else is having this problem.
I suggest you to reset the battery stat from the recovery. The probability that this works are low but is better then nothing.
How do I do that from recovery?
Edit: phone was charged to 98%, rebooted into recovery to see if I could wipe stats in TWRP, rebooted again, phone reads 28%, 3 minutes later it read 66%.

To wipe battery stats in TWRP:
boot into TWRP recovery
/advanced/File Manager/
folder /data/system/
click batterystats.bin
click Delete
reboot system
If you can't see the folder, you need to mount the data folder.
Well I switched to Philz Touch, do I have to do the same thing then?

You should have the wipe battery stat under advanced in your recovery.
The right step to follow are:
1. charging the battery FULLY
2. wipe Battery Stats
3. don't charge the device until the battery still turns off your device because it empty
4. now again FULLY charge without interruption
Wiping battery stats does nothing, see here: http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/ . Sounds like your battery is borked. May need to send away for repair. Are you still under warranty?

Yeah I figured. Thought it was a KitKat bug at first but then it started getting ridiculous. Phone was at 70%, started taking a photosphere, phone shut off, and when I turned it back on it was at 3%.
No its not. Bought it off Craigslist. Just gonna order a battery off eBay for $18 and replace it myself, see if that fixes anything.
I just got out of a similar problem.
My battery percentage was jumping all over the place.
It would charge fully in about 5 mins, and die in about 20.
Everytime I restarted the phone, it would read a different percent.
I ended up running the phone on full brightness, with like everything turned on to drain the battery all the way down.
& Everytime it would shut off cause it had no battery left, just restart it and keep draining it until when you reboot the phone it no longer turns on(because the battery if fully drained of course).
That's when it is really dead.
Then just charge it to 100%, and keep it charging for about 20 extra minutes once it hits 100%, and now it's back to normal!

That really worked? Any problems with it since and is this a common issue with the N4? For some reason it won't die when it's in the bootloader even though the percentage read 5.
So yesterday it was so dead that it gave me the red blinking light, should I charge it when that happens again and should I leave it off while charging it or turn it on and not touch it?
How many times did you have to do this until it straightened itself out?

I am currently having WakeLock problems, but I do not beleive this was the cause.
I was able to restart it after it died about 4-6 times, till it was fully dead.
Then I charged the phone, and kept it off the whole time.
I installed wakelock detector to make sure that wasn't the problem. I had this problem on the stock rom even before I rooted. So the problem hasn't persisted since?

Broken battery?

Hi!
I'm suffering from a strange battery behavior lately: This morning, after 9 hours charging, I woke up to a 75% full battery, when usually, it should get 100% charge overnight. Previously, I had an accidental power off by power depletion, some hours ago.
Now, I'm trying to charge the phone but it seems to charge way too slow.
Finally, I decided to power it off and let it charge without any possible drainage. In the moment I powered it off, I was prompted with the battery icon displaying 96% charged...??!?!?!?
I don't know if either the battery is broken, the rom is reporting it wrong or what.
I usually play Ingress, which drains the battery like crazy, and I'm usually browsing the internet and reading twitter on my phone, so, at the beginning I thought I just needed to keep my hands off the phone for a while and let it charge, but after that overnigt 75% charge incident... I don't know what to think.
ROM is Carbon ROM KK, kernel is AK without any tweaks, no undervolting or anything... any advice?

Don't over charge.
Yes, I have the bad habit of being unable to see my phone drop the battery level under 60%. At my job, I always leave it on a qi charger, regardless of it being full or empty. Perhaps I have to take the habit of letting it drain until 30% or so, and start charging then.
Other thing I can do is limit the charge level top, tweaking the kernel setting via synapse..... Could that be a good thing?
After starting the phone, the battery level seems to be OK. It's 87% now and it's draining quite slow, compared to before. I guess I'll have to start treating my battery better.

Some update: the phone was bought on March 2013,but the battery has a build date of December 2013. I think the guys that repaired the phone swapped the battery for another one and left me with a defective one.

Battery reading issues

Hey everyone. So I bought a second hand note 4 recently and have been having battery problems.
I did a full wipe install of CM13 and the battery dropped to 0% at random times and I had to plug it in the charger for the phone to even boot as it would just restart as soon as it turned on. Anyway, i thought this is probably due to faulty battery. I purchased another one and now this one doesn't reboot at random times but seems like the phone keeps reading the battery percentage wrong, sometimes it doesn't charge over certain percent, just gets stuck at 77% or 63% or any percentage really. If I remove the battery and plug it back in, it shows a completely different percentage everytime. I have tried wiping battery stats, do a full discharge/charge, nothing seems to help. Battery drains fairly fast too, once I manage to get it to 100% it shows that expected time is like 2-3hrs if screen on. Thanks!

battery displaying different percentage after u remove it and put it back in is normal i have 3 note4s all do the same (up to 10 percentage change, it either increases or decreases) but the other issues like getting stuck on a certain percentage are not normal make sure u have the genuine battery and try stock rom.
yeah, i tried stock and the same thing really. such a random issue. I just noticed that battery charges once I turn the screen on and use it , so it only gets stuck on random percent only with screen off.

yeah, i said I wiped battery stats, which is basically recalibration
once the battery is charged to 100% it also drops first 10-20% really fast and then it gets better but still I only get around 2hrs screen time

Oops my bad..Didn't read your whole post...
the only way to fix this replace your battery by new one
i tried all options (Format ROM - Wipe battery status - Getting back to stock ROM - Unroot - re Celebrate apps - Changing recovery-Removing battery from device for while sleeping - charge without fast charge - charge via USB)
i asked myself after that all of this headache doesn't worth 20$, i replaced the battery with new one and its working fine now

yeah, i replaced battery as well but it's still the same issue. old one at least charged fully but would randomly reboot on me, the new one doesn't reboot but drains extra fast and doesn't always charge fully. can't believe both batteries are faulty
I am sorry for summoning this old post but did you find any solution to your problem? I have exactly the same experience with my note 4.
Thanks!
Is there a solution for this problem?
Power down and then out-and-in same battery and my stuck-at78%... was 100% when started.
if you having problems with auto restarting.... download the app " WAKE LOCK" and put it on Partial Wake Lock setting... your restarts will be a thing of the past.
