What a whiny little *****. Wah, wah, wah!!! Go cry somewhere else. I won't even address that with a legitimate response, I'll just mock you instead.
I think it's awesome that Samsung is trying to engage with the community. I heard that they might have actually given away more devices than just the one. That's amazing. Motorola side skirts the issue and lays blame elsewhere, Samsung steps up to the plate and mails out free hardware.
Sounds like it's some to seriously consider an SGII. Can't wait forever on Motorola anymore... did this with the X10 and not going to do it again with another device.
Time to trade for SGSII!

Great move by Samsung! I miss all of the Dev on the SGS and love that Samsung not only allows it, but actually encourages it. I really like my Atrix but it will be my last Motorola phone unless Moto opens things up like Samsung, HTC, etc.

Add me to that list. I was very hesitant to buy a Moto, and if it were not the best ATT has to offer I would return it.

While I do think it's good to see Samsung doing this, it doesn't mean they will do anything else with it. Remember, this is the same company that left millions of customers with a malfunctioning GPS for more than a year.
I dare say, this may be a publicity stunt of some kind.

Thankfully I missed the SGS GPS fiasco... but if a company wants to give free phones to the sickest developers, I can't see how anyone is able to come here and lament over the past.
Would you guys rather see the same mistakes over and over? No one's asking for forgiveness. This is a win-win situation. No one loses. How can ANYONE seriously *****? Maybe there's something I'm missing...

Nobody is complaining as you say. I am just saying, it will take more than this gesture to restore my confidence in Samsung Mobile. I am not saying it won't happen, just not over this single gesture.
I honestly am amazed they have done this. The motivation behind it, remains to be seen. I hope they have realized the error of their ways.
I also agree with the sentiment that Motorola should be learning from this.

I'm not saying anyone has to forgive Samsung for their huge flops in the past. But no one has the right to complain or make cynical comments either. Not all that I said was particularly directed at you.
Samsung could have thrown kittens off a building and then donated billions of dollars in relief aid to third world countries - this won't right their wrongs but at least it's something. Never mentioned anything about the past or forgiveness either, and I don't see why everyone's so hung up on it.
I'm not living in the past. I want new phones, new software, new everything. I'm concerned about the present and the future, not the past.

You make good points. However, let me just add this one little phrase and it should help you understand how some people might feel.
Burn me once, shame on you! Burn me twice, shame on me!
This is the heart of why people become biased against a manufacturer. There are many people who feel the same about Motorola at this point.

Apple can go f.. itself

"Apple has claimed that Samsung violated its patent for SIRI, the voice controlled assistant as it introduced "S-Voice" in its newest flagship phone Samsung Galaxy S3 and also infringed the automatic detection of certain types of data such as phone numbers, email addresses and hyperlinks as reported by The Inquirer."
Considering voice recognition has been around for over a decade if not closer to two, it's really one more pathetic attempt by Apple to control the market! I really hope they get some judges in there that have an understanding of technology!
Meh voice control is just a gimmick, not to mention you look like a ****ing retard talking to a machine.
So Apple can take it imo their users are just a bunch of left handed facerolling dribble-sheep anyway
Haha there is already a topic like this but yes they really can go f themselves. I dont think we are going to hear much about the case until tomorrow but im just praying that this phone does not get delayed/banned

Have you seen the new iphone design samsung should sue them for copying there round shape housing.. lolzz
I'm not gonna go into how bad the editorial but just gonna go ahead and say that Samsung still have time to show them the source code and prove that they didn't infringe anything. The final verdict isn't out yet
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The funny thing about source code, is that if the language is the same, the syntacs will be the same #main() is the same whether you a programing in windows, android or iOS. The proof is only in the comments not the code.
I could rebuild both Siri and the samsung voice system from ground up and there is a very real chance the code will look VERY similar. And when even the smallest program has hundreds of lines of code trying to prove this code or that is yours or theirs is very VERY hard. I personally think apple is trying to stop something that will decimate their iphone 5 before it's even out in market.
S-Voice is using Google's voice recognition API. Doubt Siri uses that.

Well Apple is going at the Gnexus as well, but they haven't stopped the selling in the US, so why are they trying to ban the S3?
The same thing for HTC. Apple was/is trying to go after HTC for the second infringement from the OP. They are going after almost every HTC phone, but are only trying to ban the One Series and not the other phones that they are going after.
Apple is just trying to stop all of these new phone's that will put then to shame when they release the new iCrap 5 lol.
Interesting thread topic if anyone has produced the capabilities of a phone to do just that then Apple is more likely to lead the way .

I'd rather Samsung pull S-Voice rather than risk delaying US shipments. They can add it back later as an update. S-Voice, like Siri, is a gimmick and a waste of time. Not worth going to the mat over.

Right now, shutting apple down in any way is worth going to the mat over. Apple has to be stopped as they think they own everything.
So true, I think apple is really worried, if I was Samsung I would tell them to stop hassiling us or find someone else to make the amazing screens, they advertised the iPad3 with an amazing one of a kind screen but Samsung made the screen, all apple has every been doing is taking an idea, changing it a little and saying that they created it and ever since Steven jobs died they have run outta proper new things to do and iOS users are noticing that, all my iPhone friends want me to put android on there phone cause whenever apple updates something the system gets slower not faster and they hate the control apple has over them.

No, right now selling phones is Samsung's job. It's not a crusade, it's a business.
I think Apple is just being a sore-loser because Samsung topped Apple in sales. Svoice is not gonna work for me anyway because I am not a natural-born english-speaking person. lol.
Even if Apple is successful, I will not buy an iPhone anyway, I'll probably end up with another HTC like the EVO LTE. Screw Apple.

No business is about making money. Apple has never been about business, Apple has always been a "crusade" against things. First it was IBM, then it was Microsoft, now it's everyone who has a product remotely similar to them. Apple's entire history has been "us VS them". Hell steve jobs even had bar "fights" where he would pit his teams against each other.
No this is a crusade to stop a [email protected] company from selling anymore products that they can try to control how you run your day to day online activities.
I don't know, can anyone else see the irony of Apple today from their "1984" super bowl commercial??

It would be nice if Samsung got so much money behind them that they could stop making parts for Apple, think 30 or 40% of the iphone 4 is made by Samsung.
There would be other companies out there...lg? who would step up but the change over would cripple Apple.
Always makes me laugh when Apple boys dis Samsung, if were not for them their phone would not even turn on.

Nice, I honestly don't think it'll fully stop apple altogether but at least google is fighting back.
You know, on the one hand it's good to see apple getting back what they dished out. Apple really pissed me off because I used to love them in the 90s and 00s for the kind of cool renegade tech people they were and then seeing them pull a complete 180 and turn into little *****es over the Android ordeal. I personally think google and samsung haven't even done anything wrong, but especially not when you consider apple's past record on the subject of theft.
But on the other hand, it saddens me to see potential blocking of any company's products. This whole thing is just completely detrimental to technology. It's all about open competition. Fairness.... well competition is often unfair. Don't get mad, Evolve. Legally blocking the sale of your competition is just the absolute worst thing you can do. Everybody will hate you for it.

You know, I completely agree. But in my opinion, its all about the context of the situation....and honestly apple has been trying to sue and block its competition over and over. They refuse to relent, and I am not so sure that will change. With all these lawsuits they are filing, with the constant demand for ridiculous outcomes if they win (blocking s3 sales entirely and asking for all profits made from the galaxy line of devices...a total of $2.45 billion not to mention the $325M that apple is demanding from sprints profits...AND the recent patents awarded to apple basically making anything looking like current smartphones in trouble) it is stifling to technological advancement to keep them around I believe. Its gotten almost to the point that nobody can release a new device without apple coming up with something to sue for. With that kind of track record and obvious refusal to back down, I say get them outta the picture and move along...and maybe once they are in "time out" they can learn to play nice with the other boys and we can let them back onto the playground.
I'll start by not buying anything with an Apple on it, and encourage all of my friends, family and random strangers to do the same.
Pretty much the same as usual. I bought an iPhone 3gs a couple years ago, didn't really ever have any problems with it. I had just never touched an Android device.
Upon using one, I felt like a big traitor. Within minutes I knew I must have one, and I've never looked back. Much more end-user friendly. "It's your device, what do you want to do with it?"

It's a good video. Comes out hard against Motorola. Are we really supposed to believe that because Motorola is doing this now, saying they're getting it out of the way, that they won't do it again in the future?
But I don't know why more people aren't pointing out that this is a statement on the Android eco-system itself. If this were Samsung or HTC, you could leave the blame on their feet. But Motorola is owned by Google now. This is a move by Google. It's not just Motorola not being able to afford enough developers to create a department to support old phones. It's Google saying they don't want to spend the money keeping a customer base, no matter how loyal they've been.
It really makes me want to leave Android. Unfortunately there are few options out there. I hate Microsoft still left over from hate from the 90's. HP has abandoned webOS. Apple has iOS too restricted so you can't do everything you want. I'll probably stay with Android, just won't have as much a warm fuzzy feeling about it.
I am dropping Motorola even though I was a loyal customer for years over multiple phones. Samsung is out because I had hell of problems with them for a monitor I bought. The stand broke and I had to keep cussing them out for an entire year over the phone, literally, twice a month for a year. Having spent way too much time Googling it, I'm definitely under the impression they' treat problems more lazily than Sony does.
I'll probably go with HTC. I really liked how he mentioned in that video HTC gave a $300 rebate in the past. That was sticking it to Motorola good. I'll have to look into it more myself to make sure, but I'm probably going with HTC.
Samsung, Microsoft, and Yahoo were the only major companies I had issues with before. Now I'm adding Motorola to the list. Samsung and Microsoft are still the worst in my book. But Yahoo and Motorola are bad enough, really don't want to do business with them ever again. And, it really hurts that Google owns Motorola. I use Google for so many things on the web... It's not even like it's an option for me to get rid of Google.

I share your sentiments regarding most of the things that you have said. Yesterday, I have noticed something about myself that I didn't think about it as much before. I no longer have a desire for new music, not even bothered to see if there is anything out there that I might like and matches my listening taste. I keep listing to my old collections only. I think I've been put off by the Music industry that expose itself as the most vicious entity that is willing to destroy lives in the name of Business.
Equally, the impact of the greed and control the tech industry have shown lately could have eventually put me off to the point even owning the most basic mobile phone is way too much of a hassle.

Serves them right-- the record companies are pushing what they think sells, and I wouldn't call it music. Let's put it this way, 99% of the musicians I like are not, how should I say... "aesthetically pleasing". 99% of the schlock pushed by the corporate music industry is based upon image.
But unlike with Motorola, who still makes a good phone, I'm not even remotely interested in what the corporate music industry is pushing these days. I really want to throw my Atrix in the trash because of all this noise. However, I still need it, and I don't exactly have a few hundred to throw away on a new phone
I've have already written in other threads exactly what the guy said in the video, don't buy motorola products ever, they will get the message. It is the only way. These companies only look at the bottom line.
Take a look at HTC's sales since they refused to put out a viable Gingerbread OTA update for their most popular phone ever, the Desire. Still in the toilet.
Edit: Besides I tried the Razr i. No webtop, dodgy screen and the worst version of ICS ever. Pass.

LG - worst phone brand - never dealing with them again!

After having passed from brands as Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia in last 15 years, i decided to depart a bit from them. In 15 years just 3 brands you can understand that i like to be loyal to a specific brand...
I decided to go to LG, and oh boy it was a disaster.
After 3-4 months of use i started becoming a lover of LG G2 and i was gathering a list for my next big purchases from Amazon: LG 48" tv, LG phone for my wife and LG sound bar.
However suddenly i noticed a glitch to my L:G G2, a glitch on the feature that i originally selected LG G2: the camera. All photos were blurry. i searched a bit on the internet, and noticed that a lot of users complained about the scratched camera that made the photos blurry.
I tried to fix the lens by myself but with no success... the camera was probably the most important feature on my phone - since i have two little twins to take all day photos!
I sent my phone for repair to a company that LG sent me to, that is their official repair shop: www.fonemaster.com.cy
I told them that this is something that hundreds of people have the same problems from a search online, and gave them numerous links, in order to show that this should have been under warranty.
They came back, not accepting that it was under warranty and i had to pay the repair!
Of course my answer would be f*ck off, and just wanted to throw the phone in the garbage! Fortunately Amazon accepted to send the phone back.
And fortunately i didn't buy all the other products that i wanted to buy from LG, i wouldn't want to deal with their horrible customer service!
After numerous emails to LG, i never got a reply back from them, and they just left a customer alone - and all these: for a replacement accessory costing about 15$ !!
Now we are extremely happy owners of Huawei P7, Sony Xperia, Samsung HwF550 soundbar, and we are going to buy a Samsung TV.
Adios LG, you will get zero from me in the future! NEVER AGAIN LG

I dont see other users complaining like this. Maybe its not particular nowadays. Me too had a bad experience with Samsung Service Centre but thats normal. I dont bash like this in Samsung threads.
To me all brands seems the same, if its your luck happen to get a faulty unit and a not-customer-friendly service, swallow it. This Q&A section is for people to share their technical experience and problems with G2 but not the problems with Service Centre, infact the one you've proceeded is not LG's owned service centre.
Okay im gonna stop here, chill out dude this problem like you faced is not uncommon anymore, all brands are like this.
ok understood.
What frustrates me is that simple things that are so common problems for users, and through google you could easily be aware of it, LG should have known and be able to fix them...
First, I'm having a hard time understand how a scratch lens could cause the image blurry. 99.99% blurry images are user problem but I don't rule out that you are the 0.01% left.
Second, my rule of thumb, if it is really a hardware issue, w/i the first 30 days, I would return to seller for an exchange or refund w/o bothering the mfg. After that, I would contact LG for repair, if it still under warranty, they should do it for free, if not, walk away from them. However, if it isn't under warranty for some reason such physical abusing, hacking, rooting, ...... you should expect to pay.
Third, if you're not happy with one mfg., you can try another. Good luck with Huawei.
Ok,
First: please Google blurry images due to scratched lens. You will understand that the problem is 99.9% a malfunction due to the manufacturer.
Second: i tried to solve my problem with Lg but they didn't want to fix a 3 months old phone
Third: i already decided that i won't buy another lg product
Fourth: what's wrong in expressive my opinion? I should just praise a manufacturer or contribute in ROM development?
Anyways i will say it once more, STAY AWAY FROM LG PRODUCTS, THEY GIVE ZERO SUPPORT
If you need to express your opinion about some bad service you got, do so in the general discussion forum. All this thread is doing is sparking arguments, with people who like lg coming to their defence. Not a particularly useful q&a topic.
OK correct maybe forum section was wrong. It should be changed to general.
But any people having different arguments welcome of course! But absolutely no one will change my mind that LG the WORST BRAND I EVER DEALT WITH
You have to realize that nobody cares you will change your mind or not and nobody cares to convince you that LG is best or worst mfg either.
It is your personal preference. We hear you. Pretty much it.
Well I don't really care about it
Just want to inform potential buyers.
STAY AWAY FROM LG. THEIR SERVICE AND BRAND IS HORRIBLE!
THEY JUST NEED YOUR INITIAL MONEY
i had the same sh*t customer service to, i tried to explain to them about the camera lens being scratched and they also gave me the link you got and i would be charged, but i told them to f*ck off as it should be under warranty, i then fixed the lens myself with some atonish polishing paste, i then got a phone call asking about the phone and i said its fine ive fixed it myself and he asked how so i told him and he said your warranty is now void so i just laughed and told if it breaks mate i will throw it straight in the f*cking bin your warranty is a joke.
its not just LG its all customer services, i think you have to a complete knob end to pass the job interview.
To be honest these days you'd be lucky to get great customer service from any phone manufacturer. Its become an exception rather than the norm. To the OP I hope you get the service you want from Huwaei etc however I wouldn't hold my breath as I've heard equally shocking stories from them

Thanks for stopping by, your life should be full of adventures in front of computer and mobile screens and I appriciate the ten minutes you devoted to write 3 fully understandable sentences... Some people like myself do change their children diapers on a daily basis, something that will happen to you in a decade, after your dad stops giving you money to live and after you start taking to girls instead of just hiding behind usernames...

Some people like yourself should just man up and take it on the chin. Yes, you had poor service. Were you the only one? Nope. Is LG the only company to have poor customer service? Nope. Grow up. You say you have kids of your own? Well stop acting like one, whining and moaning on a forum because something didn't go your way. Although I'm sure you feel so much better having had your tantrum in this thread. So feel free to go on with your life, secure in the knowledge that your drivel has steered every one clear of that crap LG company.

Do not judge by your standards, i paid for something and quite expensive and i expect to get back the 2 years warranty i paid for. If they do not accept it, then i will for sure make bad advertisement for them. I will not just sit back on my couch as you do, and just buy another phone. I am not a sheep like you are.
End of story - LG IS A HORRIBLE BRAND AND I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THEM

Rofl. A sheep. I change phones every other month. Anything so long as its Android, though I have used iOS in the past. I'm not loyal to any one brand. I use whats best for me. The only bad advertising you are creating is for yourself. Ahh, now I'm on a couch I see. Rofl. Grow up. You got a bad product, and had a bad experience with their customer service. You then had a good experience with Amazons customer service. You got a refund. Move on. Accept you are in the minority. Every company has these issues. Buy each product on its virtues, not because it was manufactured by your favourite, because makes YOU a sheep.

He stated a well known LG G2 problem. The lens scratches very easily. Even on my own phone i notice scratches. LG will not confirm it's their fault for the obvious reasons.
