After having passed from brands as Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia in last 15 years, i decided to depart a bit from them. In 15 years just 3 brands you can understand that i like to be loyal to a specific brand...
I decided to go to LG, and oh boy it was a disaster.
After 3-4 months of use i started becoming a lover of LG G2 and i was gathering a list for my next big purchases from Amazon: LG 48" tv, LG phone for my wife and LG sound bar.
However suddenly i noticed a glitch to my L:G G2, a glitch on the feature that i originally selected LG G2: the camera. All photos were blurry. i searched a bit on the internet, and noticed that a lot of users complained about the scratched camera that made the photos blurry.
I tried to fix the lens by myself but with no success... the camera was probably the most important feature on my phone - since i have two little twins to take all day photos!
I sent my phone for repair to a company that LG sent me to, that is their official repair shop: www.fonemaster.com.cy
I told them that this is something that hundreds of people have the same problems from a search online, and gave them numerous links, in order to show that this should have been under warranty.
They came back, not accepting that it was under warranty and i had to pay the repair!
Of course my answer would be f*ck off, and just wanted to throw the phone in the garbage! Fortunately Amazon accepted to send the phone back.
And fortunately i didn't buy all the other products that i wanted to buy from LG, i wouldn't want to deal with their horrible customer service!
After numerous emails to LG, i never got a reply back from them, and they just left a customer alone - and all these: for a replacement accessory costing about 15$ !!
Now we are extremely happy owners of Huawei P7, Sony Xperia, Samsung HwF550 soundbar, and we are going to buy a Samsung TV.
Adios LG, you will get zero from me in the future! NEVER AGAIN LG

I dont see other users complaining like this. Maybe its not particular nowadays. Me too had a bad experience with Samsung Service Centre but thats normal. I dont bash like this in Samsung threads.
To me all brands seems the same, if its your luck happen to get a faulty unit and a not-customer-friendly service, swallow it. This Q&A section is for people to share their technical experience and problems with G2 but not the problems with Service Centre, infact the one you've proceeded is not LG's owned service centre.
Okay im gonna stop here, chill out dude this problem like you faced is not uncommon anymore, all brands are like this.
ok understood.
What frustrates me is that simple things that are so common problems for users, and through google you could easily be aware of it, LG should have known and be able to fix them...
First, I'm having a hard time understand how a scratch lens could cause the image blurry. 99.99% blurry images are user problem but I don't rule out that you are the 0.01% left.
Second, my rule of thumb, if it is really a hardware issue, w/i the first 30 days, I would return to seller for an exchange or refund w/o bothering the mfg. After that, I would contact LG for repair, if it still under warranty, they should do it for free, if not, walk away from them. However, if it isn't under warranty for some reason such physical abusing, hacking, rooting, ...... you should expect to pay.
Third, if you're not happy with one mfg., you can try another. Good luck with Huawei.
Ok,
First: please Google blurry images due to scratched lens. You will understand that the problem is 99.9% a malfunction due to the manufacturer.
Second: i tried to solve my problem with Lg but they didn't want to fix a 3 months old phone
Third: i already decided that i won't buy another lg product
Fourth: what's wrong in expressive my opinion? I should just praise a manufacturer or contribute in ROM development?
Anyways i will say it once more, STAY AWAY FROM LG PRODUCTS, THEY GIVE ZERO SUPPORT
If you need to express your opinion about some bad service you got, do so in the general discussion forum. All this thread is doing is sparking arguments, with people who like lg coming to their defence. Not a particularly useful q&a topic.
OK correct maybe forum section was wrong. It should be changed to general.
But any people having different arguments welcome of course! But absolutely no one will change my mind that LG the WORST BRAND I EVER DEALT WITH
You have to realize that nobody cares you will change your mind or not and nobody cares to convince you that LG is best or worst mfg either.
It is your personal preference. We hear you. Pretty much it.
Well I don't really care about it
Just want to inform potential buyers.
STAY AWAY FROM LG. THEIR SERVICE AND BRAND IS HORRIBLE!
THEY JUST NEED YOUR INITIAL MONEY
i had the same sh*t customer service to, i tried to explain to them about the camera lens being scratched and they also gave me the link you got and i would be charged, but i told them to f*ck off as it should be under warranty, i then fixed the lens myself with some atonish polishing paste, i then got a phone call asking about the phone and i said its fine ive fixed it myself and he asked how so i told him and he said your warranty is now void so i just laughed and told if it breaks mate i will throw it straight in the f*cking bin your warranty is a joke.
its not just LG its all customer services, i think you have to a complete knob end to pass the job interview.
To be honest these days you'd be lucky to get great customer service from any phone manufacturer. Its become an exception rather than the norm. To the OP I hope you get the service you want from Huwaei etc however I wouldn't hold my breath as I've heard equally shocking stories from them

Some people like yourself should just man up and take it on the chin. Yes, you had poor service. Were you the only one? Nope. Is LG the only company to have poor customer service? Nope. Grow up. You say you have kids of your own? Well stop acting like one, whining and moaning on a forum because something didn't go your way. Although I'm sure you feel so much better having had your tantrum in this thread. So feel free to go on with your life, secure in the knowledge that your drivel has steered every one clear of that crap LG company.

Rofl. A sheep. I change phones every other month. Anything so long as its Android, though I have used iOS in the past. I'm not loyal to any one brand. I use whats best for me. The only bad advertising you are creating is for yourself. Ahh, now I'm on a couch I see. Rofl. Grow up. You got a bad product, and had a bad experience with their customer service. He stated a well known LG G2 problem. The lens scratches very easily. Even on my own phone i notice scratches. LG will not confirm it's their fault for the obvious reasons.

No useful info in this, but just a story that me and my friend found so funny, I thought I would post it.
So my Apple fanboy friend Colin decided to go and pick up the iPhone4 today. He knows how I feel about Android, and hes also admitted that after seeing all the features of my Nexus One that he has no doubt that Android is dominant over Apples OS. But he still decided to get one, as hes one of those “I just need an iPhone cause its an iPhone “ people. No problem. So I go to T-Mobile with him to watch him seal his fate and sell his soul to Steve Jobs.
We walk in the store and ask for an iPhone 4 to play with, and since there wasn’t one on display (guess people steal them) they said we can play with the model they have open to the public if we do it in the presence of one of the T-Mobile employees. Again, no problem.
So the lady comes up and pulls the glorified app launcher out of her pocket and hands it to him. He starts to play with it and asks me “does your Nexus One have a larger display?”. I pull it out and lay it down next to the “can only hold me with a certain hand and in a certain manner if you want me to even half ass work” device. Now keep in mind, Im American and my friend is British, but we both live in Berlin, Germany. When I lay my phone down next to the iFLOPPED, she says in German “oh you cant even compare the iPhone to any Android phone. It s just on another level”. I smile, as I can speak German, but I didn’t want to take on a salesman with my half ass broken German. I just smile and he asks if she speaks English. Then then replies in perfectly spoken English “why yes, I lived in the UK for many years”. I almost got an erection….
So I nicely ask her…”when you said its on another level, could you give me an example how”? She replies “ where do I start? Firstly, the camera is great. It has a 5mp camera that’s much better than the 3GS model”. I say “So does mine”. She then says “ It shoots video in very high quality 720p”. I replied “um..yeah so does mine” (who cares if a hack did it..it still does ) She then says “Something that’s also been added is that the phone can now multitask with all the apps you want in the background. I replied “um, no it cant". I then said (thank God I had Quickdesk installed) “what it can do is have specified applications that can be chosen to run in parallel to one another, like this” ( I then used quickdesk to show EXACTLY what the iPhones “multitasking looks like and does). I then said, “true multitasking can do this…” I then loaded up my SNES emulator, booted Donkey Kong Country, started playing, then turned on Eminems new Recovery album and had it running in the background, turned on Fring and left it running in the background, and then went to Google Talk and messaged my friend Rene that I would swing by his house later and went back to the game, right on the level I left it. Thankfully, my Enomther rooted Nexus didn’t skip a beat.
So at this point, she starts to get upset. Colin is chuckling to himself but is a bit embarrassed. He then asks “so how much can I buy it for without a contract”? She says “you cant actually buy the phone without a contract right now”. I say “that’s strange. My phone is 6 months old, has done everything that you claim only your iPhone can do, and I got it for 400 euros NEW WITHOUT CONTRACT” (eBay auction sniped in the last 15 seconds ) . After adding up the insane amount of money he would have to pay for the iPhone in the end if he renewed his contract, he put the phone down and just said “hmm..”.
So now shes getting VERY upset. Not only have I just proven her to be a salesman who doesnt know **** about Android OR the iPhones OS, she asks impatiently “so did you want to upgrade?” I then playfully say “yeah Colin. After the way the iPhone just pretty much owned my Nexus with everything she just said, youd be dumb not to buy it right”? She then took the iPhone, walked over to her manager and talked to him for like 2 minutes. They both came back and the manager says “Im sorry sir, but we re going to have to ask you to leave the store. If your friend wishes to upgrade, you will need to wait outside. Colin then says “its ok..I think I wanna have a think about it before I upgrade”. I say thank you to the manager and that “im sorry if I made anyone upset. I just wanted to defend my phone agains the comment the lady said about it earlier”. We then walked out, and Colin starts BUSTING out laughing. But the GREATEST thing is that 30 minutes later, we walked into Vodafone, and we walked out 20 minutes later….with his brand new Nexus One (and hes LOVING it).
Now, if she would have known her stuff, she could have said “it has a front facing camera, higher screen resolution, ect (which I could have still countered with “useless if your friends don’t all have smartphones, blah blah). But she didn’t. Sorry, but I work as a marketing manager and did sales before. So if your gonna attack something Im passionate about, you better know your stuff.
Whats the moral of this story? Simple. If your gonna be an Apple fanboy..fine. But if you want to enter a debate with an Android user, KNOW YOUR STUFF, because we certainly do. (thanks to the awesome and intelligent as FOOK Android community)
Just thought you guys might find that story as funny as we did.
Edit: BTW, I dont encourage making anyone lose a sale at ANY type of store. What I did was self defense, not provocation.
Do you mean ATT? Anyway good story.
Oops, must have missed the UK part in my initial read through.

Nah...ATT is U.S only. Only T-Mobile sells the iPhone4 over here in Germany, and only Vodafone has the Nexus One.
Of course they don't give a crap about phones like a geek does. All she wants is to make the commission off of the sale. It's her job, not a hobby like it is for people like us. So of course they will kick you out if You interfere with their business making money.

WRONG. First rules of sales are "ABC" (always be a closer) and KNOW YOUR PRODUCT LIKE THE BACK OF YOUR HAND. She didnt, and at the same time SHE DOGGED MY PHONE. Thats the ONLY reason I said anything. If she would have known her product like she should, firstly she wouldnt have tried to sneak a low blow on my Nexus, and more importantly she would have had ALOT more features she could have named to defend their most popular product.
Edit: And the fact that I like to know what I pay damn near 550 U.S dollars for doesnt make me a geek. I like to know what I invest my money in, and at the same time I like to know the competition and the alternatives

Dude all she wanted to do was make the commission money. The iPhone has one of the higher commission for the sales person out of any other phone. To her its just some stupid job that pays her bills, not some smartphone war between geeks.

I didn't realized there were volunteer spokepeople for products, let alone get into it with a salesperson trying to earn a buck.
Yeah, she wants to make a commission, so what? His friend wanted to get a value for money smartphone. He probably wouldn't have if you were there.
If I were the sales person I'd say something like "I don't go to your job and knock the d!cks out of your mouth!"
Look everyone... the OP has a point. She should have done her homework instead of B.S.'ing his friend "to make a buck". Since she didn't... a Vodaphone salesperson made a buck instead. That's capitalism.
OP, I don't think you were a douche... you didn't whip out your phone until your friend asked about screen size, and you didn't really diss the iPhone so much as you simply pointed out that your 6 month old N1 could do the same. You're fine...don't listen to these guys.
i dont get what everybody's deal is, "trying to make a buck". Know your god damn product and sell it well. its not like he did it to be a ****. she asked.
Nice story, the sales person should know their product, especially if they attack another product. If you're going to make statements back them up. Oh and if I was you're friend who just witness you being asked to leave the store, I would just politely say that I wouldn't buy the phone from this store anymore and that it was bad customer service.
She should say that the iPhone 4 can drop calls on command. That's one thing no Android phone will ever be able to do.
That's a story I know too well. I know what I want and no salesrep has so far been able to sell me something. Even when I WANT to be convinced that buying the phone I want is a smart choise, they still can't win over my more sensible side
And this being an iPhone only makes the story more entertaining :-D

Bought mine too - but it really didn't get anything solved for the 1.5 Hero kernel source - they still released it on their own schedule.
you know im just impressed that this worked for LG and when i even suggest this here everyone just gives the **** up... i mean really? do you think it will hurt our chances to get an update? people are so used to taking **** and just eating it up.
nothing in this world will just coincidently land in your lap.
here's the link... http://www.facebook.com/SamsungGalaxyS
I asked. didn't hurt me to type. then again i actually fought for a lot of stuff in life.
Its not about eating he piles of utter bs they feed us with a snow shovel, its the simple fact that they will release it on their own internal schedule and unless your giving the project manager head under his desk 9-5 then the ammount you ***** about the update matters to them about as much as one of their 8 year old production line workers complaining that they are hungry or just lost a finger in a machine. Complain all you want, they have their cash now and they can do as they please. Now wether or not what they do is a good business decision for keeping and maintaining a happy customer base is a totally different situation. In all actuality the people on this and other SGS boards are in the minority, just audible enough to cause a fuss and make them release a generic statement that all public companies would that won't effect stock prices. The other 70% of customers couldn't give two air ****s what 2.2 is or what the hell kernel or source actually mean othe than popcorn and original copy.
Now as far as it working for LG. You show m where they said "no you can't have it" and then said "ok well you *****ed and threatend law suits enough here it is" I may believe that they actually released it based on consumer pressure and demands, other wise they did the same thing every company does. Develop a product, change their mind 7 times a week, finally get something that is "ok" but in all reality is mediocre because of the politics involved internally, test it, fix it, lather, rinse, repeat as necessary, release to the customer and in the process shut the people up who are *****ing and won't be happy even when its done because someones $15 dollar sub standard blue tooth headset won't pair or an app in the market that used to work fine fcs now.

Ofcourse they do,thats buisness...And the real reason 2.2/2.2.1 didnt come out sooner, work really didnt start till about a month and a half ago,and there is still no real rush.Have you noticed how many EVO commercials are on tv now,and pretty much no more epic commercials. Its because they need to sell as many of those phones as possible for reasons unknown. But there is a big push to sell those phones.Yes they held back on 2.2 to patch some things in 2.2.1,mostly root, but that was like 3 days extra work at most.

No pay day yet. This is Sammy's way of confessing they have been trying to do it their way instead of please the customer for too long.
It still remains to be seen what they actually DO about it.
We all know what pathway good intentions paved =]
The bottom line is until sammy gets the carriers in line, and froyo gets released before its 1st birthday! People will rant with good reason. Btw gingerbread has been out for like 3 months! We have a top of the line device running an os from 2009. Honestly I love the hardware but I can't handle this bad os support.

Whoever even buys another Samsung flagship phone with the belief that they learned their lesson deserves what they are going to get and shouldn't complain anymore. If you haven't realized what their intent is, which is maximum profit with the least effort, while actually making it seem like they kind of care with PR rep's that promise things that they cant' actually commit to. INB4C
My friend asked me what phone he should buy, and looked at the Galaxy S2 and the Motorola Atrix. It was a no brainer which phone was the winner. Go Atrix! Pre-ordered and waiting! He was waiting for a nice dual core phone, but after the mess he has heard from me with Samsung, he said he definitely doesn't want to go through the same thing. To be honest, this crap is making me sick to my stomach just talking about anymore, cause we've all been crapped on, and it doesn't feel nice.
I'm not surprised in the least that Samsung would think that this meaningless gesture would diffuse this issue, but I'm honestly SHOCKED that "Xda leaders" would put any thought into this. I suspect they're making money off this, somehow.
This site has lost its way badly.
At least it's a start and shows Samsung at least recognizes they've pissed off some people. It's better than what they've been doing which has been a whole lot of nothing.

And THEN Sprint will begin work on adding SprintID and a new, improved, constant Nascar streaming app, which can in no way be turned off. Oh, and HTC assassins are waiting there to shoot Noob so that they can still claim that the EVO is the flagship phone, and artificially make supply of the phone backordered to give the impression to the common consumer that it is not a giant POS. Did I miss anything?

Here's to hoping open exchange of dialogue will soon become exchange of sources and binaries!
Honestly, this was my first Samsung phone in about ten years is so far, it's my last.
It's not the lack of Froyo, this is just a simple annoyance. What killed it is GPS that works like crap, barely functioning accelorometer, retarded hardcoded GPS accuracy refusal to do anything about these two issues. I have a bad feeling that the last bug isn't a bug at all, but an attempt to cover up poorly functioning GPS on this phone. If I was Colbert, I'd wag my finger at them.

im just finding this all funny at this point...
Hi I'm samsungjohn, just wanted to let you guys know that I'm just using this pr to gain rank within the amsung corporation. I figured if I was able to convince everyone to stick with samsung and to keep buying samsung, that I will be soon promoted. In reality I am jus doing this for a job. I don't even own a samsung phone. I own an LG, but thank you for listening to me and allowing me to pull your strings....Public Actions speak louder than words....oh and by the way. The Truth Is What You Make It, and Who You get To Believe In It.
No worries I'm just poking fun at this all. If people have gotten offended by it then the truth lies within the offended. Lol
now if Samsung were to really/officially be changing fo the people they would skip over froyo and be the first to update every galaxy s series to gingerbread. Or at least get froyo out and gingerbread soon after.
And powers at be, feel free to delete or modify this if you like. I've already gotten past the point of anger, and this whole samsung update bs is just a joke to me now. Samsung makes great dumb phones but a smart phone is just isn't worth it.
Too late, too slow, too little.
Samsung unfortunately is still working on the feature-phone timelines. What they (and most other android phone makers, with the possible exception of HTC) seem to not quite understand is that these smartphones are true computers now, and need to be treated as such. The OS is an integral part of phone, perhaps the most important part, and people will not tolerate a company that refuses to update an OS that both has critical bugs (and yes, the GPS bug is a CRITICAL bug), and appears incapable of utilizing the hardware it's surrounded by. It's like Microsoft refusing to repair a Windows bug that kept all printers only printing in black and white. It's almost worse that the hardware is so good, and is being crippled by a poorly customized OS (like tantalus, nearby but unreachable relief is far worse than no possibility of relief at all).
It's going to take a really big step to mollify those that have been burned by this generation of samsung's smartphones. Samsung, if your listening. You've pissed off many of your most important phone buyers. These are the people who less tech-savvy people ask for advice on phones, and for every 1 XDA member offended by your apparent lack of desire to properly support your equipment, you probably lose at least 10 referral sales to companies like HTC.
My recommendation, at least open the source code for the devs to look at, and if you're having software quality problems (and that's the reason you can't get froyo out the door), invite some of the best devs to take a look at the proprietary modules that you're having problems with. Work with the community and you may maintain some degree of support for your next generation of phones. But keep trying to astroturf them, or worse yet, pull a Behold 2 on them, and watch out as your current market lead could easily change next generation.
I am sewing lots of people panicking because of some issues with some devices received.
I see this with nearly every handset I have owned, especially at the beginning.
It's as though a chain reaction starts when someone has a fault, others then look for the same fault, over analyse the phone and almost will themselves in to believing a small scratch or blemish is the same thing as the original complainant.
Out of all those who had "faulty" devices, how many do you think got perfectly working devices?
Don't have a knee jerk reaction and jump ship until you actually have a major problem with your own device. Give the manufacturer a chance first.
Sorry, just had to their this out there.

"Give the manufacture a chance" is easy to say if you live somewhere where these phones have reasonable price or return window or good warranty...
Here where I live it's not like that, I have to pay more than a month's income for a flagship, sometimes a 24h return window if the device has a real issue sometimes not even that, also no proper warranty for Sony devices here, So I consider myself all the right to nitpick & panic
Cheers

Well if you have to pay over a months income to get a flagship, why are you getting one in the first place? As with everything else in life, everything just goes the way it goes. You won't get a faulty phone, and if you do, then its meant like that and you can learn from it. Just turn everything into positives.

I have been badly burned by multiple devices in the past.
1. Sony K810i (7 years back) - found out speaker was damaged 5 days after purchase. As @riginal pointed out, I was at a place where I cannot return the device the moment I walk out of the shop. By the end of one year, everything except battery in that phone was replaced. I had bought that model several months after it was released.
2. HP DV5 1015TX Laptop (6 years ago) - replaced display 3 times over a 1.5 year period because of the same issue. Lucky that I had warranty extension.
3. Asus TF700T - If I see the guy who tested it, I will hit him with the tablet until it breaks. I am not joking.
4. Nexus 7 2013 - replaced speaker 2 months after purchase.
5. Dell XPS 9530 Laptop - paid $2000 and got a machine that makes whining sound, throttles games to unplayable FPS.
After these kind of experiences, when I got my Nexus 5, I returned it without zero hesitation twice - first because of the yellow tint and second time because of the dead pixel. There should be zero tolerance when it comes to devices. I pay expecting a fully functional product. I am not paying to be their tester. Its high time companies are penalized for releasing defective units. If they can't ensure consistent quality, at least I should get a full refund even if it is after 1 year.
If the companies cannot guarantee that there would be defects during the initial launch period, either they should offer extended warranty with the guarantee that if its a factory defect, we will get a new phone no matter when it was reported.
Edit: Added item 2.

I have added one more - #2.
I too often think like that - whether I am cursed or if I am being punished by God for spending money on gadgets. There were a few who didn't give me problems as well- Galaxy S2, PS4, Sony TV..

But all that doesn't mean it's going to happen to you with this device. Plus you could argue that you should learn from experience and wait for the device to mature before you leap in to a purchase of a newly released flagship device.
All this strikes me as nothing more than mass hysteria still. You can't judge a device and declare it as faulty before you have it in your hand.

If you really want the answer for your first question I'll manage, I usually keep whatever cellphone I buy for 2-3 years and right now I have Xperia X10 & wasn't gonna upgrade but my beloved X10 finally died on me & if I buy something I want to buy the latest & the greatest so yeah I manage but that doesn't mean I can afford to buy a premium device with premium price just to see it die a week later & toss it way only because there was a gap in the device & it wasn't waterproof as advertised, So I really appreciate people here nitpicking, It helps me make my decision between this, Note 3 & M8
and what to you mean it's meant like that? turn everything into positives? do we really need to get philosophical on this? I mean seriously is it asking too much to get a solid device as advertised for the price I pay?
Anyways don't really understand the purpose of this thread, Everyone here are just stating facts & sharing their experience with the device which unfortunately happens to involve high temperature, build quality issues, low ringtone...I don't really complain or nag, actually no one does except for the op of this thread
Disclaimer: I'm not sure where else to put this but I wanted to warn anyone who may have to deal with them. Mods let me know if I should move this and where to.
TL;DR - They've had my phone for over 2 months now and I have no indication that I'll be getting it back.
Here's the timeline:
Sometime mid-February I have an issue with my Z3 Compact where part of my screen no longer responds to touch. May be my fault, may not, but I'm willing to pay to have it fixed if I do.
Call up Sony Xperia support, get an RMA number, and mail it in.
USPS says the phone is delivered on Feb 27.
About 2 weeks later I call them up to see what the deal is as I've received no word, they say they never received the phone.
I go to USPS to complain, they say it's been received and show me the receipt signature.
Call up Xperia support again, NOW they've found my phone, but claim it was only delivered on March 19 which I know is false.
Several calls later and last week I FINALLY get a "GOOD NEWS, we have your phone and are sending it back! We'll update you when it's sent!"
Now one week later I JUST got off the phone with them and they say the repair center is "just waiting for a FedEx tracking number to send it out."
At this point I can't even believe them - I think they lost my phone and don't want to own up to it. I have not at ANY point during this ordeal received a single update email or phone call about the status of my phone and all information I've gathered has been purely because I keep calling them up.
I like the phone but I can't bring myself to buy another Sony product after this experience.
Another pointless thread
Is it? I'd like to believe that raising awareness of poor customer service is the best way to get it fixed/changed.

It is also nothing like he'd deal with in Apple land. I'd rather have repairs done at a local place at my expense than deal with that.

Sharing experiences may get a resolution here, but its better on Sony's support forums or better still to your local trading standards if you have one in your region.

The possibility of a successful way to deal with Sony support, via specific agents or dept in Sony, the chance to get some discount vouchers for other products due to their poor service.
The chance for people to tell you the more appropriate ways to get support.
My first dealing with Sony support was as frustrating as this one, but learning to deal with them and getting 50% off their great products always makes a difference to me

He's also letting people awares of such dishonest company so people can learn to avoid the headache by decide whether to do business with Sony.

I'm just saying that if people want to make a change, go communicate with the company themselves not only are you helping yrsrlf but other people aswell, but I will put my hand up amd say I see point the previous user states
And for the one who called me a moron grow up please
I have a very bad experience with the company too. My z3c was delivered with a screen problem
(these morons didn't took the time to put protections on the box). It wasn't immediately visible but 5 days after receiving it, my screen did not refresh correctly. Definitely a hardware problem. Of course since I took very good care of it the device is absolutely scratch less.
The verdict : they don't want to take it back because my bootloader is unlocked (to install a legit sony lolipop)
Very disappointed, I know unlocking the bootloader could cancel the warrant but come on sony, this is obviously not a software problem here and I feel like a victim of a pity scam.
I bought two z1 and one z1 compact before.
Now if the clients are powerless against a big company and its army of lawyers, the best thing they can do is complain in forum.
Personally my goal is to make then loose the same amount of money I loose in this case.
Sony support for my mobiles has been the best support I have ever got from any company. The Xperia care line are call centres actually in this country and will go out of their way to help you. The repair process is fast and easy, you can even book your own phone in for repair on the xperia support site without any contact with Sony. If it has a problem not under warranty (never happened to me and I sent a phone in with custom rom once) they will offer you a quote, if you dont want to pay that you just pay £20 to cover the free post they gave to send it and them returning it if.
But this does not mean I can tell other people this is the service they will get (in spite of the fact most will get at least good service), and it is stupid for those who happen to have had bad service to state that is why people should avoid Sony or it is what they will get from Sony. And that is why these threads are pointless almost all the time, apart from the rare times we can help the person in question.

Are you capable of making/defending a point without ad hominems? Your signal to noise ratio would be greatly improved if you could respond to any criticism or contradiction like an adult would, instead of just reflexively calling everyone fanboys.
That being said, I have never felt in any way good after having delt with Sony CS. I bought my Z3C used, and the seller didn't have any way to transfer his proof of ownership to me. It came with a loose usb flap, one that I ended up having repaired at the previous owner's expense, rather than waiting the ~month it would take for it to be repaired by Sony.
My previous phone was a Z1S that I also bought used. It developed a pretty bad heat problem, with cpu temps hovering around 70* C while IDLE. That time, I would've had to have it repaired/replaced at my own expense, either by Sony or a 3rd party repair shop. This is not the way it's supposed to be.
Apple CS, for example. Their tech support CSR's are unfathomably stupid, but Apple apparently has enough money to let the 'geniuses' throw out warranty replacements like candy, which is immensely preferably to Sony's methodology.
I find it especially disconcerting that the Xperia Z line is water resistant, yet Sony reps can argue over damage being covered under warranty. If a company sells and markets water-resistant devices, it should be accountable for when that water resistance fails, even if that means accepting customer-damaged devices under warranty. What's worse is that the older Xperia Z phones don't even have a pressure sensor reading in the service menu, so you can't even know if the device is safe to take into water or not, making the water resistance moot.

That's not a very smart, or nice question. You can focus on the letter of the law and in doing so support the idea that this is an acceptable law (not necessarily applicable in my country of residence for now by the way) or alternatively if you're okay with being a statistic of profit, perhaps you can hold your tonge for those of us that would like to see this sort of thing changed.
There's a new kind of Koolaide being served. Don't drink it.
Well unlike the OP, I must say my experience with Sony Support has been great. I rang them after my Z3c suffered the sudden death bug. The tech I spoke to spent 4 hours with me on the phone trying everything possible to find a fix. Whilst he wasn't successful it wasn't from lack of trying. Wish all tech support was as helpful.

But, he is correct tho. It's awareness in the wrong place and therefore pointless. I wouldn't have wasted my time writing a topic on xda like that would've done anything. Instead i'd spent my time with sony trying to figure out what's going on, or use the buyers law. That would've been more productive. He is not giving me any awareness, i'm not worried about one sob story among the ocean of untold success stories.
Sure it sucks whenever you pick the unlucky ticket and the support is not up to par with the norm. But that's just how it is, sometimes you're just unlucky. No company has a flawless record because you have to remember that no matter how good their procedure is, it's handled by humans.

That's not true, i've worked at apple and they defiantly do not throw warranty extensions around like candy. And their applecare was a joke. I spend more than enough time on the phone with "customer relations" having people denied for warranty extensions for petty reasons.
