Been discussed a ton of times already. Please use search and don't post new threads until you have searched completely.

Because this is a development thread. Where people develope programs and provide assistance on them. Its not the yellow pages. No one here works for you. We are not your secrateries. New threads like this clog up the forum and make it difficult for those of us who use search. Take some time to read the forum rules.
Here is the hint. Top of this page to the right is a "Search" button. Its just below your name. Use it to search the contents of your original subject line of this thread. If you can copy/paste the http address of your search result to prove to me you did your due dilegents, but still cant find your answer, I will help you learn how to use search properly so you don't continue to post new threads. But at this point I don't think you have used more than 2 minutes of your time searching on your own.

Wow, never before have I seen such "jerk" behavior at xda deverlopers. I know the person should have searched and I'm not discounting that fact, but there is NO reason to jump down someone's throat with that tone. Sorry, I'm a Japanese and I ever saw how much loathing and hatred went into your post. Next time, please do more courteous behavior... if not, I hate to think of how people will treat you.

The reason people tell you to search is because this site, like any other activity has rules. One of them is to READ and SEARCH to find the answers yourself before you post a question that has been answered in numerous other locations. While some people may be overly aggressive in their suggestion that you use the search function, it does not make their point any less valid. There are a lot of people on this site, and all of them are volunteers. Nobody gets paid to be here. When you decide that you're gonna clutter the forum with threads and posts that have already been answered very thoroughly in easily searchable locations then it just makes it more difficult for people who actually do know how to use the site properly to find anything. So in the future, if you have an interesting idea (which you did) then do some looking to see if maybe somebody else had that same idea and post your thoughts there. That way everyone who is interested in that idea can go to one place to follow any development that happens there. Otherwise you are basically saying to all the people who put a lot of time in here, that you think your time is more valuable than their's. Which puts us in this perpetual cycle of people who don't know anything complaining because the people who do know the answers want them to learn how to find the answers rather than just giving them the answer.

see my post above, the tone was no nearly as hostile as you took it, and as you spend more time on this site you will understand why some people sometimes go overboard in their frustration. I appreciate your effort to encourage civility toward each other when we are posting.

Then you don't read enough threads around here, as flaming goes (especially for people who don't search before starting new threads) it is pretty mild.

Search the entire forum. In fact google the interenet for the question I posted in that thread. It is no where to be found. And it was a development idea posted in a development thread after all that searching had been done. Your not comparing apples to apples. In fact there is no comparable comparison.
Anybody got an answer to that thread let me know b/c it still hasn't been solved!!!! LMFAO!!

No jackwad I researched at a time that S2U, Picture Flow Software, Contact Programs, and Music Players being reworked was in its prime. So, I knew that it was being overlooked. Really dude, you don't want to continue to go tit for tat with me!! You weren't even a member at that time!!!
Just agree that new threads are reserved for new ideas and program that have not been done before. And that we should discourage all the lame threading.

I was less of a dip**** and it continued to happen. At least this is getting some attention that may make a noticable difference of noob's continuing down the same old path of ask questions first, search as a last result.
It would be great if the Moderators would put a sticky at the bottom of the sticky posts for this forum titled "How to Use Search before you post a New Thread" since noob's aren't even taking the time to read the forum rules. While their at it make the title of the sticky thread alway stay BOLD even if no new posts are made in it.
Hey Mods!!!! What do you think of that idea???

I tried using ResHacker but after replacing some of the graphics (which is all I'm after) MusicID wouldn't run anymore claiming it was unsigned.
How can I replace the graphics in this app and still have it function afterwards?
(FWIW: the graphics in MusicID appear to have been done by someone schooled in minimalist 80's computer graphic design. Who failed.)

New Thread
There is a new thread at the top of this page, where you just posted this question, made specifically to stop unnessicary threads like this. I dont see how it could be looked over. All of the questions there are answered extremely fast, and with good features too. Why would you start a new thread, when you could use this? Try posting it there!

Just curious, what kind of new thread would be considered acceptable to you? I'm not trying to be a smart*ss, im serious, if all "unnecessary" questions go in the "top of the page" thread, what kind of topic/question/information would be alright to start a new thread? Just so i don't make the same mistake kwoodall made.
Oh yeah, kwoodall, i totally agree with you, and wish ya luck on improving the ( 1980's miami vice) look of musicid. dschoenike
Hmm. I did this for that very program awhile back and it worked fine. Only thing i think it could be is if a image file had a different extension or there was a problem when you saved it back to cab.
Or did you try and change the images once it was installed instead of editing the cab file?
I tried to edit the .EXE file itself. Was I a bad boy?

Actually my fellow ppc'er. If you read about the Development & Hacking section , there probably isn't a correct topic/subject to start a new thread. It specifically says that this section is for pretty much Hardcore Developers.
In other words, from the way I've read the rules, and about this section, and especially what I've learned from the Mod's and senior members, this section is supposed to be for someone who has created an application/software/etc. Not to ask questions. I may be mistaken , but from what I've gathered, the only way a question should be asked in this section , is if you can find a specific thread concerning what you are lookin for, and then post it in that thread.
I know that when you go to this section that is not the case, but thats how it was meant to be, and that is why that thread up to , was created. So theres your answer.

I disagree. If that was the requirement for making a new thread, ones having to do with dialer skins, spb mobile shell, all the HTC programs, opera mobile beta, etc etc etc would all have to be erased or relocated, and I just don't think that's appropriate. This thread deals with hacking and the modification of a program, thus I think it is entirely appropriate to post it here. That said, I don't know of a solution for the OP's issue but would like to know the answer as well.

Whats up your a** dude?
Install SDKCerts.cab and/or change your security policy to allow unsigned applications via HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies add new value "0000101b": dword = 1
In the future, please use the thread mentioned earlier for questions, as this is a rather simple step that almost everyone knows about...
i just ported andriod on my hd2 the froyo with sense but the internet doesnt work is there a fix for this?
Gee I must sound like a broken record...but search the forums and you will find what you need. And if you will not search, goto the thread from wich you downloaded said Android build and look for answers there, as they most assuredly are. As a senior member I would think you would try the search first, it's very accurate. And also, its "Android" not "Andriod".
thanks for the info you dont have to be such a **** about it.
Im not trying to be a ****. You posted basically this exact same question in the ROM development section, people answered, and you posted it again. Nearly everything you need to know can be found through the search.
well next time if it bothers you dont reply and yes i was being lazy to search for info

The forum rules specially state to use the search option and to post in the right sections. Either he did not read the rules our he is just to plain dumb and should not be on this forum! You sir should be giving light bans to all the people that ignore forum rules and they might think about what they are actually doing before they post something that could have easily been found with a search or flagrantly posting in the wrong section!

I'm going to have to agree. I've kept a close eye on these forums but I have never seen this before.
As far as the Fascinate answer/decline method goes, if you have your Samsung Epic upgraded to 2.2 Froyo, and set the alarm, the way the alarm is put to snooze/exit when it goes off is the same way the Fascinate answers/rejects calls which I like WAAY better than the Epics way of doing it.
The Fascinate has had the answer/reject method since it came out(my friend got fascinate same time I got epic) and ever since I been jealous of the answer/decline method it...it also looks waay cleaner and nicer..
Actually I think the call screen I'm looking for is the default android...how would I get the default instead of the one sprint or whoever gave us...
bump for this - I'm looking for the same thing
Still looking....
Nothing I guess

Would it be possible to make it so that we can switch to a "OP posts only" mode that allows us to read only what the original poster has posted? For example if say eugene373 posted something but the thread is contaminated with a hundred pages of comments, we could switch to this mode and only see what eugene has commented to see what he has to say about his post. I think this would be really useful in some cases
I concur

Well then, it seems that you totally discount the ability of anybody other than the OP helping people or answering questions. Either that or you expect that every OP is awesome at keeping the OP up to date and answering everyones question, even if someone else answered it.
Since both of these things are rarely if ever true, your suggestion would simply not work out very well.
If you MUST have this feature, nobody need code in a new mode for you. Simply:
Open the thread
Click Search this thread
Click advanced search
Search for only posts by the name of the OP
Good Idea
I like this idea.

Dont get me wrong I use the posts of other members to get my questions answered most of the time, but sometimes I just want to see what the OP has to say.
But thanks ill start searching threads
I am pretty sure the method I posted will give you exactly what you wanted, but as a added tip; I like to copy the username of the OP so I can simply paste it. That way I don't have to remember spelling, capitalization, etc.
