Then you shouldn't need one. Just plug the phone in and mount it and Win7 should find the drivers! Edit: I have Win7 64bit too, and it worked flawlessly for me!

what you need to do is plug it in, go to the notification bar on the top of the phone, slide it down and choose mount usb. it will automatically all be done.

should work... i plugged it in, installed pc companion. i think pc companion downloaded the missing drivers for me.
you can try to install pc companion. it should work.
As already said you shouldn't need them. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and didn't have to download extra drivers for my phone to work.
Same as XperiaX10iUser.
I'm using win 7 pro 64bits. I don't need to install any driver for the usb. BUT for rooting my X10, I have done it on my windows server with java 32 bits version. The java 64 bits version on my win 7 doesn't permit to root my phone.
I'm using w7 64 bits and don't need any driver installation, it does it everything by its own
hey guys, i have problem when i plug my magic into my laptop..
it always said "usb not recognized"
i use windows 7 32-bit
i have tried to install android-usb driver but windows system can't detect the driver (android_usb.inf, androidusb.sys, androidusb86.cat, WdfCoInstaller01005.dll)
i try to change the usb cable but still doesn't work
what should i do?
Tried installing HTC sync? That usually fixes the driver problems.
Either that, or try installing HTC Sync AND THEN the USB Driver cable. That worked for me, or try the newest HTC Sync available.
WHere can I install HTC Sync from? I'm having the same issue's, I never had this problem before..
so after installing HTC Sync I'm still havng the same issue, this is the message I'm getting..
"One of the USB Divices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it." any suggestions?

I have the same problem. Both my windows 7 pc and linux netbook both used to display the magic as a mass storage device (all I need), but now neither will do it. As both fail to detect the magic I've come to he conclusion there is something missing or corrupted on the magic - probably after me pulling the usb cable too soon!
I've reinstalled the rom, ticked usb debugging etc, yet still no joy. The pc initially gave an error code 43, but now it does nothing. could somebody help please.

I tried two htc syncs, neither worked. Thats why I think its an issue related to the phone rather than the pc. Is it related to unmounting the sd/not unmounting the sd at the appropriate/inappropriate time??
All I get is:
usb not recognised - One of the USB Divices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it..... then when i click on the attached usb info it states ' Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)'
i already haved this issue its hardware issue sendit to warranty
I can't seem to get USB tethering to work on my HD2 loaded with Android 2.3.4.
The hotspots work ok but everytime I plug in my phone via USB and choose tether USB, Windows 7 does not recognize it as a RNDIS device. It only sees it as a ADB device.
I tried to uninstall the drivers for ADB device and Install the RNDIS drivers for Windows 7 x32 but it does not recognize the driver for the device.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks.

Same here - and am using CM7 nightly build. RNDIS device never gets detected (Win 7)...
RNDIS was removed from the EVO kernel by Markinus last year.
And all the main kernels we use for HD2 are based on Markinus' EVO kernel.
When plugging in the tablet, my PC detects it as MTP but always fails to install any drivers. I have installed MTP drivers from Microsoft but nothing works.
I just turned my nexus 7 32GB on and connected it to the same cable as the 16GB I just returned. It doesn't show up on my computer at all in MTP mode. Only in PTP mode. Any ideas on what to try?
*EDIT*
USB debugging is not on. Tried to install the asus drivers and got an error about there not being a driver for 64-bit in them, despite seeing the x64 drivers in the package.
Also, as MTP, my nexus 7 shows up as VID_18D1&PID_4E41&REV_9999
Again, that's with USB debugging disabled, it shows up only as an ADB device.
*RESOLUTION*
I uninstalled the ADB driver while it was plugged in with MTP mode. I unplugged it and replugged it and now it works fine.
is usb debugging on?
i got drivers from asus site.
deleted all references to N7 and rebooted windows.
un checked debugging on N7.
went to storage and checked mtp.
connected to windows.
when windows wants to install new MTP device, pointed it to the usb_driver folder..
windows installed MTP device..
this all happened to me today.. i am brand new for this device and the N7 board.
i spose this is fine for me but i would still like to see MyComputer show as USB mass storage..
i feel like the MTP doesnt show everything , limiting my access / control..
i would like to know how to do this,
thanx

you didn't uninstall all references to adb first. even if you have to go back to a restore point. then start over for Windows to install as mtp
