Forge Camera Pictures - G1 General

How does the Gallery sort the pictures? I know it does it by 'newest first' but if I wanted to manually add my own picture how would I make it so it has a certain date. Is it the date in the file name, exif data, or something else..

maybe try opening the image as a text and look at the data. There may be a date in it's coding? If so just try to change it on you r PC to a very distant date and then copy it back to the sd card. Not sure if it'll work, just a suggestion.

HTC Album showing wrong thumbnails

Title says it all really.
anyone else find that the Album app shows the wrong thumbnail for some pics? If you tap on the thumbnail, picture that comes up is different. I am even finding that the thumbnail shown for some photos is a photo that has been deleted!
Eg. album shows thumbnail of photo I took with the camera. However, tapping on it brings up one of the default wallpapers. Every time I open Album, different pictures are affected. Tried searching but couldn't find a solution to this. Any ideas?
Hi fisha21
Had the same problem for some time. Did some research but without luck. What I did to fix it, i deleted the HTC Album Cache manually.
Go to
<YOUR_TOPAZ>Application Data\HTC\HTC ALBUM\Cache
and Backup all the files to your system for the case something goes wrong. My files are about 20mb so I think the thumbnails are stored in there.
When the backup is done, delete all files in the cache-folder and softreset your device.
After that all my thumbnails in HTC Album were plain white. I think that's because it has to renew the Cache first. This could take some time. I'm not sure what triggers the renewing of the cache. I just viewed some pictures an after some time everything was okay and it showed the right thumbails. Just be patient.
I hope the same procedure could help you too. If not just copy the backed up files back into the folder.
Thanks for the tip! Will give that a try.
I've had this problem too. It's actually really annoying as you never know which picture you're going to get!
I find that it seems to get better after a soft reset, but the more you scroll through your pictures the more jumbled they seem to get.
Did Syrus01's fix work for you? Did the problem come back again?

Possible to change what the Camera app names photos by default?

For anyone who came from an HTC WinMo device, in the more recent ones the camera app had the option in the Camera settings to name photos using the date and numerical order of the photo, i.e.: 20100806_001.jpg.
This was GREAT for sorting photos easily even if they don't have a time stamp as part of the actual photo, and also ensured that when switching between various roms, the naming of the photos remained consistent and there was never an issue. This was even more important for me as I sort my photos into folders within the sd card file structure, i.e.: /sdcard/my documents/family photos
With the Dinc, it only wants to name photos IMG0001.jpg and progress in numerical order. So when I flash a new rom, it always wants to start over at IMG0001.jpg. So now whenever I try to move new photos from /DCIM/ of course I have to go through the tedious process of renaming all of them to keep from overwriting older photos with the newest ones.
Is there ANY way to change the file naming used by default in the HTC Camera application?

[Q] Gallery showing photos in reverse order

I've done a search but can't see anything... I've uploaded various photo albums to my new TF, but for some reason each album is shown in reverse order (i.e. it's coming up with the end of our holiday first and the first photo is right at the end!)
The EXIF contains the correct datestamps and the filenames are alphanumerically in the correct order (i.e. Holiday001.jpg, Holiday002.jpg, etc). I've even played with the order in which I copy them over - makes no difference.
All I can think is that it's deliberately ordering them back-to-front, but I can't seem to find any option to change this (it seems bonkers that this would be the default and with no option to put it back to normal?)
I've also installed Quickpic which is okay for viewing, but it doesn't help in situations where the phone uses the gallery to select a photo, etc.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

EXIF metadata editor app

Hi!
Can anyone recommend a good app to change the EXIF data on pictures saved on the memory card? This is my little problem... I get pictures thru a messaging app WhatsApp and they are saved on the device. Once I copy/move them out of the device memory and move them to my memory card, it changes the date stamp on them and I lose the order they were in originally.
Any app that can change the EXIF data on those picture files? I can copy the files to my laptop and change it there but once I copy them back to the memory card it changes the date again.
Thanks!
How can I delete this? I found what I was looking for already.

Google Photos not deleting files from device.

I'm noticing that I'm building up Image data even though I'm deleting every picture I take off of the device once it's uploaded to the cloud. However when I check the SD card storage the pictures are still there. Thumbnails as well. Hire can I fix this?
Bueller.... Bueller?
So far I've tried deleting data from Photos camera, and media storage to no avail.
I'm thinking it might have to do with the trash holding photos for 60 days before permanently deleting.

Click to collapse
Not sure if you've done this, but with newest version of photos, you can go into Settings and select Free Up Space and then it'll look for already uploaded photo to the cloud and remove it from your device. I do this about every 2 weeks to free up the device. I recommend cross reference the photos between app and photos.google.com to make sure. Also have NAS locally to back it up too.
