Some how my thumbnails in Album are messed up. If I tap on a particular thumbnail I get the full photo of another photo.
Is there some way to delete the thumbnail cache so it refreshes?
Thanks!
hi, I have the same problem. already tried to delete cache files but the thumbnails are still messed up...
i sadly had to hard reset it to fix it.
hi,
here's a solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4121645&postcount=2
worked fine except that one image still has a wrong thumbnail. maybe this is because the image is larger than 1 MB...
Great stuff.. that fix did the trick perfectly for me. thx michlmania
Note: I did a search and only came up with answers for people who changed lang. I have not so the fix doesn't apply to myself!
for some strange reason I have 2 pics of everything in my album, and all of a sudden my album now includes my tom tom map pictures etc which it never did before.
If I delete one of the pics, both vanish.
Any ideas on a fix for someone who has not changed the language of the phone?

I'm with you on the visible folders thing, I am now getting a whole load of system icons/images visible in my album as I didn't before - it makes the Albums tab messy and difficult to find things you actually want to see.
...I don't know how to fix it though, sorry.
A quick update: I have noticed its Only when you go into the album, if i go on the pictures tab at the bottom where its shows your pics next to the touch buttons to start up the camera for pics or video, there are no double pics. Its only when you go into the album itself or go onto slideshow.
Any ideas anyone??????
Hello,
For some reason all my album tumbnails are corrupted. Meaning the picture on the album folder is full of colored lines, sometimes the whole picture, sometimes half a picture corupt.
Anyone any idea how to restore the images on my album tumbnails?
Do you mean when you scroll to 'Pics & Vids' then click 'Albums' and view the camera shots in thumbnail view?
I have this same problem too - it has only happened recently after I deleted the album cache on my device as I was running low on memory.
As soon as I went back into my Albums, the cache file size would obviously start increasing again, but only the first 10 or 15 images in the thumbnail view now display properly, the rest appear black with the coloured lines running across like you mentioned
At first thought it might be a memory issue and it couldn't handle saving too many thumbnails, but I have since freed up some more memory (50+meg) by deleting Google Maps, Opera cache etc and still have the issue so cant be that.
Hopefully someone else can be more helpful
Same issue idd...
Anyone know a solution for this?
I recently got cyanogen mod 6 on my htc legend, and was just exploring the apps. One app, is Gallery (which came stock with cyanogen and possibly with android in general).
I see 3 albums, called Desktop, Desktop and Test. I guess these are just folders i created at some point prior to trying cyanogen.
But I dont want those albums there, and when i click the album, there is no delete option. Other albums I have the option to delete, but just not these 3.
I tried mounting my sd card, and searching for the file names for those pics, and the album names, but i cant find it. Which then makes me think, that its not on the sd, but stored internally instead ?
How can I find and delete these pictures ?
Just some more information, i cleared the gallery cache through the applications setting, and loaded gallery again, and those albums with the pictures are gone...
I waited sometime, because ive done this before, but after some time they came back...but currently, its been a few mins since I cleared the cache and everything seems to be in order...
ill post back in a few hours, if they come back. Otherwise, this thread can be deleted.
Ok, the pictures are back. It took sometime after clearing the cache, but somehow, those albums and pictures are back.
One thing I did see, is that all the albums I CAN delete, have a folder icon on the bottom left. The ones that i CANNOT delete, have a camera (or aperature) icon on the bottom left.
Help ?
i downloaded QuickPic, a photo viewer app, and it does not list the albums/pics in question that Gallery seems to show.
QuickPic is set up to search for pics on /mnt/sdcard
which then just furthur makes me think that the folder Desktop and test are someone on the internal memory.
I tried to use astro, and dual file browser to search, for those folders but couldnt find it.
I tried to use terminal and use "find . -type d Desktop" (which i believe searches the root directory for a folder called Desktop) but that returned with nothing.
Im at a loss. Its not the end of the world if these pics are here, but really, i dont want them there and I should be able to remove them.
bump...any ideas or things to try ?
Hey, there is an edit button you know. You don't need to post new reply again and again. Btw if the pictures keeps coming back. That means there is an app that is doing that. Look around for any apps that might be doing that.
There is no edit for these pictures( the ones i want gone), the rest of the pictures (i want to keep), have the edit button which includes delete.
When i click the pictures i dont want and press the menu button to show me more options, I only have Share and More. In 'More' I have Details and Set as Wallpaper
I have 2 photo viewers (Gallery and QuickPic) and QuickPic does not show those pictures(the ones i want gone)...only in Gallery.

In the 'Details' option, there should be a path entry.

Swyped from my legend using XDA app.
i think rajasyaitan is referring this thread so that you can just edit the first post and update it. no need for you to make new post every time you come back.
hmm i had the same problem tho i'll avoid to use the load all photos. but in my sd card i have copy of live usb in it. i just don't know how to tell gallery to exclude it...

There isnt.
Solved.
Ok I figured it out.
If anyone is wondering. The gallery app is somehow tied into your google account, and if you have a picasa web album set up, it automatically pulls. Which is why I couldn't delete it or even find it because it was never on the phone.
Just randomly decided to log into picassa web album and saw the stupid album names I gave it and it clicked.
Ok..mystery solved.
Lately my gallery has been acting crazy. It doesn't display all of my pictures. It takes the latest picture taken with the camera and replaces all of my other pictures with that image. So I have a bunch of copies of that one image. Then when I try to delete one, it FC's.
Any ideas?
I'm running Liberty 1.5 btw...
I've had something like that happen too. When I would view a picture in one folder it would display a different one. To fix it I made more folders and spread out my pics like that. Please note I have A LOT of pictures
This may seem like a stupid solution, but have you tried a reboot? I had the gallery act up on me a few times and a reboot usually did the trick. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
i know with mine the app touchdown stores my corp email .jpg and it causes the gallery to not open. so i have to bros we and del the image files. which this is a pain because every email i get someone has that damn pic stored in there sig so its a constant battle.
Sometimes the database the Gallery uses gets corrupt where it displays wonky pics or doesn't even open. To rebuild the database, go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, All tab. Select the Gallery app and then select Clear Data. Repeat for the Media Storage app. Then reboot your phone. It will then scan your phone for pics and video and rebuild the database. It may take a while if you have lots of pics.
