i have almost completelly tweaked my phone, and just realized when trying to run windows voice recognition, that i deleted "buttons" under the start menu so i can't assign my hard key buttons... is it possible any of you have knowledge on how to send me the buttons that comes with win 6.5 preinstalled? i'd greatly APPRECIATE IT,, otherwise i'm afraid i'm stuck to having to reset the phone to factory.
also if that posssible i deleted another proggie i need it was under start menu and it was called voicemail something.. it supposedlly allows you to read you voicemails... i deleted this to due to thinking it was junk added on onto the phone (similiar to blockbuster, barnes and noble etc... that i thought i'd have no use for)
any help, tips would be greatly appreciated. Anything so i don't have to reset my phone and have to start over with all this tweaking.

If the apps you want are cooked in ROM then someone would have to extract them first and thats a job and a half. Then you have to consider whether they would reinstall correctly so bite the bullet and do the honorable thing! Hard reset!

out of curisoisity which i suppose i should have researched before all this tweaking... whats the best image software for htc hd2.. is there one? anything like acronis for desktop? where it will literally do a full image backup once ive tweaked this to my hearts content?

ya know i'm a comp tech, and consider myself a master of goggle and have actually helped with online tech support. i would have never fathomed searching for cabs.. i would have imagined it would bring back a multitude of search finds not getting me at all close to what my question\search was. I've just tried to unhide my extended rom with help of 2 registry keys. now my device does not boot up. It stays on white blank screen.
What can I do ? (other than hard reset ?)

Well, I'm only a newbie myself, so I don't know if this will help. I unhid my own extrom yesterday with reg tweaks. There we more than two changes to make, mind you, including the addition of a dword value that didn't exist on my 8525. You don't offer what type of device you are using, so that might limit how much help you get here, btw.
Anyway, have you tried soft resetting by using the stylus in the hole at the bottom of the device? That MIGHT do something different and let you get into the system.
There is a safe mode that some 3rd party offers ... I think SPB PocketPlus...but that won't help if it's not already installed, and I'm not sure it would help in your circumstance.
Anyway...good luck. I hope this, or someone else's advice can help you.

What you didn't have a comprehensive back up!! Oh dear dear dear. That's a hard lesson I learned a while back. Now I could happily hard reset right now and be fully back up and running in say 10 minutes with SPB backup. A lesson for all.

This is a new device and I installed a lot of software lately.
Well, look on the bright side, you have cleared out all the 'stuff' that builds up on a system after a lot of installing and uninstalling, and you're sure to build it better this time. It's just irritating that this kind of thing usually happens when you have no time.

I need a little help.
After a crash I hardresetted my Hermes and then used SK Tools to return to a backup point. But now when I try to activesync I get a message on my PC saying that the mobile device has already synced with another PC and it requests a new name for this PC.
I haven't synced with another PC. What shoukd I do ?
OK. So I've had my Wing for a week now, it's not unlocked like it said it was on the ebay auction... I'm still waiting to get an unlock code. Apparently my imei was not in t-mobile database, so the unlocker has to get the unlock code from HTC in Taiwan. Anyways, I wanted to know how I would go abouts installing any touch roms. I'm very new to the scene, I know how to soft and hard reset, but if I ever bricked my phone I think I'd lose it and freak out. If anyone has any step by step tips please let me know.
Ps. I dont think my Wing is CID unlocked.. but I could be wrong. Thanks!
There are a couple of Rom's in development at the moment, being made specifically for the wing, but they haven't been perfected... so if you don't have alot of experience with flashing rom's, I would wait until people get them to work flawlessly before you start trying to install them.

Duprade, quick question if you don't mind.
When you put on a new rom (like say...the wing touch it that's being worked on)....
1)Do you have to reinstall all programs you already have on there? And do you have to transfer any contacts you have through outlook over to sim to avoid delete?
2)Do you have to re-do the pagepool fix? I actually did the "Clear Storage" option the other night when I couldn't figure out how to remove something, and I have no idea if it undid the pagepool fix. I installed everything I had again, and am tempted to try the fix again to make sure it's on there, incase the clear storage got rid of it. But I'm not sure if it's gonna delete all my crap if I do that, and also if it might hurt something if it's already done.
PS..I tried installing the minimo which you mentioned in another thread (I love mozilla products), but it wasn't working. Maybe I got the wrong version? It'd show the splash screen, with a loading bar underneath that would fill to about 80% then stop. It also drained my memory down to ridiculous levels (like 0.3 when I quit it).

Well that's annoying, because if you have someone under multiple numbers, then it seperates them with a /m, /h, /w...etc. Also, after you transfer them back to phone, it keeps the sim ones in contacts, so you have duplicates. I tried deleting all of the sim ones again through sim manager, but they pop right back up. Only way that seemed to work was just now when I went in and one by one permanently deleted them from sim (until next time I change things, of course )

Thanks. I will have to take a look at that PocketCM. I thought the contacts were fine the way they were, though I was looking at adding that ipod style scrolling. Is pocketCM better than the default contact manager?
I re-did the pagepool thing as well, just to be sure.
As far as opera..how much does it cost? And where do I go to make sure I get the right version? I'd definitely be interested in it.

Easy "Cube" in stall in two CAB's....no flash-lite needed. No confiration needed.
I added the configuration cab in just incase you want to mod it.. but its not necessary.

A simple " Didn't work out too well on my device. I will explain what happened..." would have sufficed. This way we can all learn and maybe together figure out what went wrong. Maybe it was operator error?
Please be considerate towards the time and work it takes others to develop, test, implement and share these mods as those who have the create spark do not have to. Now could you explain what happened on your device when you attempted to install?
It said the program couldn't be loaded and then when I removed it left a whole lot of folders in my windows folder that can't be deleted.

It works great. I have it installed with the ftouchFLo 1.4.1 release I have no problems. it is great.

Lost touch capabilities after running KaiserTweak to remove annoying SMS sent notification.

**Just a thought, could it have been the sensitivity settings set to Ultra @ 600? I tried changing this key manually using Mobile Registry Editor but am not getting access rights to change it. Please don't kill me if this has been posted already, but I have searched and searched and searched.
I installed Manilla 2D and wasn't really feeling it, so I removed it. Well everything works fine except my quickdial pad on my touchflo cube. When I boot the phone I get an error message about the quickdial.exe program, and when I launch the cube, I can see the quickdial pad, but no names appear, and I can't activate it with touch.
Is there a registry tweak to fix this??? Or what can I do?? I REALLY don't want to do a hard reset, but if I do, will it go back to WM6 or will it stay WM6.1?
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

same thing happened to me ... i don't recall seeing an error about quickdial though... let me go to war with it and tell you what i find out.
well... tried everything i could think of... replaced Quickdial.exe with another version, tried two other cubes from different versions of the phone... looked through the reg... didn't fix it.
Backup your stuff and do a hard reset. it will go back to the last ROM you instaled.
If it still doesn't work, you nee to re-execute the ROM upgrade utility (RUU)
we'd rather not at this point
Ugh. Doing a hard reset for a simple dial pad makes my head hurt. I'm never installing another app on this phone that messes with the interface. I'll just stick with what it's got until the next phone.
If anyone thinks of another solution, PLEASE let me know. Hard reset is such a pain.

Main reason why i dont want to install Manilla 2D...
Mostly, do not instal BETA if you are not ready to do a hard reset... Or if you don't use an easy backup utility...
Especially when they mention it in the app's tread!
I don't understant why it seems so terrible for you guys to do a hard reset... I just did it with mine: It feels much lighter now!
The Manilla 2D replaces the default quick dial, so the files are altered. It's like trying to install the cube and HTC Home, at least in some instances. The two files conflict, so you'll need to hard reset.
Or, reinstall without the quick dial .cab, and use the customizer to remove the speed dial page.
