Is it just me or is scrolling to "more" or hitting "7" a hundred times annoying?
Is there a way to bypass/remove this "more" option so you can just scroll through the menu?

Setting it up for a list menu is the only other option. But you should be able to scroll without hitting more or 7
I'm not talking about the "Start menu", I'm talking about the text list menus such as settings and those within programs. Any menu with more than 6 items shows a "more" option that you have to select or press 7, I want one, big, easy to scroll list.
Just scroll left or right with the trackball. It should go to the next (or previous) page .

Thanks, you're awesome! I feel kind of dumb and happy now.

Searched but didn't find anything on these two Opera questions:
1. In Opera on my TouchPro, there is a button to close the current tab (just to the right of the location field at the top of the window). On the HD2, I have to go to the tab menu to close a tab. What happened to the close tab button? I found it much more convenient...
2. The "big scroll bar" (I don't know what it's actually called, but the large button that pops up in certain applications to allow you to easily grab and drag the scroll bar with your finger) doesn't pop up in Opera. So if I'm at the end of a very long web page, I have to swipe 20 times to get back to the top since I can't "grab" the scroll bar with my finger. Is this how it works for everyone?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
I would like to know that, too.
The first one, I think, is a change from Opera 9.5 to 9.7.
A scrollbar would be nice!
Another annoying bug in Opera is whenever there is a Drop-down menu on a webpage with over 20+ options to select from there is no way to scroll within the drop-down menu.
To give an e.g. visit fring.com and from Download click the drop-down menu for Country or Brand... there is no way to scroll down or up. The entire page starts scrolling but specifically the menu portion doesn't.
This works very well on IE6.

1. if you click on the tab button (middle button), you get the option to close the tab.
2. scrolling works very fast for me

Yes, but that's two taps - what I miss is the "close tab" button that was right there in the browser window.

Apparently this is not a high-priority issue for xda'ers... no love so far...
Is the big pop-out scroll button HTCScroll or is it part of WM6.5? Wondering if there is a registry tweak to enable it for certain applications.
having just checked through the opera preferences editor there's no options for either of these, shame....

Zoom the area where the scroll bar is in the drop down menu.
Just single tap and hold over the scroll bar for 2-3 seconds. Don't take your hand away. Slide your finger now and it will scroll the menu instead of the opera window as a whole.
Don't scream at me!
I have searched, but I can't seem to find this anywhere?
On my HTC Desire, when I have the default browser open and press menu and choose more, the top item is Home
On the SGS, under default browser settings, I have set my Home Page no problem, but when I choose menu and more, there is no "Home" option on the list?
As far as i can see, you press Menu button (while in browser) then New Window but it keeps the old window open as well so you need to close that with the 'Windows' button (in Menu)
I've only had mine a few days so there may be a quicker way but that does work
Thanks for that stickfinger
I had been doing the same and assumed I was missing something really obvious, but it appears not??
Is there any way to access the phones dictionary to edit and remove words from it?

Yes, from your Home Screen press the "Menu" button, (bottom all the way to the left) and you should get a popup menu at the bottom of the screen. Press the "Settings" button in the bottom right hand side of the screen. From here scroll down the settings list until you see "Language & keyboard". Here you will receive a new menu and down at the bottom you should see "User dictionary", press this and you will receive a list of, (as the name suggests) user stored dictionary words. From here just scroll down the list until you find the word(s) you want to delete and a long press on them will bring up a menu. From here you can either "Edit" or "Delete" the word.
Now this is just for "User" added dictionary words... I'm not sure if there is a way to delete actual Android system dictionary words.
Hope this helps!

I have an old app that I really like but it doesn't have the hamburger (three lines) menu button. The Axon 7 doesn't have a menu button. I've tried long pressing the recent apps and the back buttons but it doesn't work. Is there any way to emulate the old android menu button on the Axon 7?
thanks,
just use mi-pop buttons for this

NICE! Excellent work around. Is there an easier way of turning mi-pop on/off other than going into the phone settings?
Thanks

There is a MI-POP Toggle in the notification pull down.
imo the context menu should be the default action instead of recent apps, while recent apps should be a long-press action on the context menu button :/

in the notifications when you swipe down from the top? I only see "wifi, data 1, data 2, silent, gps" there is a settings button that i can tap, then tap "all settings" and get into the phone settings. were you able to add mi-pop to those notifications?

Swipe down again after you see the notification shade. First swipe down only shows the first row of quick setting toggles. Second swipe brings the rest (and where you can edit the order)

Except that would be against Android standards. And any app that's been updated in the past 3-4 years to modern standards wouldn't have the problem. Some OEMs use a long press on the recent apps to do the old menu, but with Nougat, that's used for multiwindow now. I'm just glad there is still a way to access it, as I need an app that is old enough to need it.
With Android 9, i was able to use Bixby button to take a screenshot and the toolbar at the bottom had the option option for scrolling feature when applicable.
However now with Android 10 it does not have the icon for scrolling feature, the only way to take a scrolling screenshot is via power and volume down pressed together.
Is there a setting or something i am missing? I cant seem to find one anywhere.
I use my palm to take a screen shot. I see that when there is nothing "scrollable" on the screen it doesn't give the option to scroll, there is only 2 options for the screenshot(edit and share).... but on a website/page where there is "scrollable" info, after the screenshot there is 3 options (scroll down/edit and share) The scroll down icon is a square box with arrows pointing down which moves..I'm on Android 10

Thank you i tried with palm and the scroll option does show, with the Bixby button it doesn't though. I guess we can chalk up an Android 10 bug.
