Yes, from your Home Screen press the "Menu" button, (bottom all the way to the left) and you should get a popup menu at the bottom of the screen. Press the "Settings" button in the bottom right hand side of the screen. From here scroll down the settings list until you see "Language & keyboard". Here you will receive a new menu and down at the bottom you should see "User dictionary", press this and you will receive a list of, (as the name suggests) user stored dictionary words. From here just scroll down the list until you find the word(s) you want to delete and a long press on them will bring up a menu. From here you can either "Edit" or "Delete" the word.
Now this is just for "User" added dictionary words... I'm not sure if there is a way to delete actual Android system dictionary words.
Hope this helps!

Silly Q, how do you select text from an email? And other places...
it keeps thinking I want to scroll the page...
and in list boxes I can't use calligrapher at all!

From an Email, you press and hold your finger on the screen and a list of options should appear, choose Make Selection and then you can drag your finger along what you want to copy, once you selected that press and hold again and cut/copy and then hold to paste in.
For text messages, you press and hold your finger on the screen until you get two icon/cursors. You move the cursors along so it highlights what text is between the two cursors. Tap what you want to do etc.
For other programs I'm not sure sorry.
thanks! that did it!

I'm very interested in this too. Apparently it is possible, but I cannot find a way or a discussion in which it's explained how.

Select Multiple emails on HD1
How do i select multiple emails in inbox on HD2
In 2.1, is there a new way to copy/paste fro emails/web browser instead of hitting menu, select text, and using the trackball to scroll over the text...? Thanks
erm.. hold your finger in the text input field, press "select all" and "copy"
I'm talking about non text input fields like text on a web page
This really is something that should be implemented in an update. It is a huge pain in the ass to not have this...
Now that there is multitouch (on stock firmware!), maybe it will be implemented in the next update (Froyo?)
Is it just me or is scrolling to "more" or hitting "7" a hundred times annoying?
Is there a way to bypass/remove this "more" option so you can just scroll through the menu?

Setting it up for a list menu is the only other option. But you should be able to scroll without hitting more or 7
I'm not talking about the "Start menu", I'm talking about the text list menus such as settings and those within programs. Any menu with more than 6 items shows a "more" option that you have to select or press 7, I want one, big, easy to scroll list.
Just scroll left or right with the trackball. It should go to the next (or previous) page .

Thanks, you're awesome! I feel kind of dumb and happy now.
Hi, guys
Do you think it's possible to highlight easily in HTC messaging? Just like in Notes or something. For the life of me I can't figure out how to select the words I want! Thanks.
yea bit of a pain not being able to select.
i get around it by having swype installed (swype 2 from the omnia in my case), which has a select text feature as seen below. Hit 'select text' then use the arrows to select.
It also works for those screens that dont let you tap to select and copy, such as secondary phone numbers and email addresses when editing contact cards, and various system settings screens.
If you just touch in the text box and hold it a select option will pop up.

oh yea, lol, id forgotten about that. D'oh hehe
@OP Press and hold, when the marker comes up, drag it roughly where you want it, then tap select, now drag start and end markers, then choose cut/copy/select all.
oh and you can enable the magnifier for that text selection too.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\TextSelection
set enablemagnifier to 1
The Text Selection tool only works for HTC messaging and for NOTHING ELSE. I hate that. That's a pretty nifty feature. Sad it doesn't work anywhere else... not even emails.
hi guys
i know this is more like an android question than the note...but hope my fellow note owner can help me solve this
i am an iphone user previously and whenever i wanna correct text in a search box, all i have to do is to press the word, hold it, and the magnifying glass comes up and i can scroll it left to right to place the curser right on the letter i want to edit
however with anroid there is no such magnifying glass and i must tap the letter i want to make the changes to..this might takes few trys to get the curser right beside the letter i want to make changes to...however my biggest problem is that i cannot correct words that are beyond the length of the search bar
for example the width of the google search bar only fit 3 words, and the forth or fifth word is not display...how do i scroll to these words to malw corrections ? it is annoying as i usually need to erase the whole phrase to make corrections ...
also how do i scroll up and down with forum boxes like this one i am typing in...iphone use two fingers...
thank you!!!
To place the cursor, just tap the screen where you need it. If it's not in the right place, put your finger on the pointy topped blue handle just under it and slide it where you need it.
When using the Swype keyboard (long press on any text box, select input method, then choose it from the list of installed keyboards) you can just tap on any word and it'll bring up a list of other words you might have meant to type. Tap on the one you want and the word changes. Makes for very quick editing of text. If the word's not in the list, just hit the Swype key, the word is highlighted, and Swype it again. Swyping is where you put your finger on the first letter of a word and drag it to the other letters, then lift it when done. It'll automatically insert spaces since each Swype is a word. It's a lot faster than pecking out text on conventional keyboards.
For scrolling large text boxes where the text more than fills it, just drag it up and down with one finger. Works fine for me in this post I'm doing now. The issue with the google search box where long entries go past the end does suck. I haven't found anything better for that than just deleting it all and starting over (Swyping from Swype key to letter A selects all.) Or sometimes you can just hit search then change it on the Web page.
BTW, concerning large text boxes, I've found Opera Mobile is the only browser that reflows the text inside so you don't have to constantly scroll left/right to see what you're writing. You couldn't pay me to write a post like this on any other browser!
Edit: on some keyboards, Swype included, you can bring up a set of arrow keys you could use to scroll over to the right on those long entries in the google search box.
