In this thread,i also use the content from the other users's posts
I can't conect to the docomo internet...How to fix this please?
Phone is working fine, but I don't know how to configure docomo network
Because your internet configuration is the configuration for Orange. So you should contact Domoco to get the information about this or you can "googling"
Beside that, you can use a program to automatic configuration as HTC Network Wizard.
Try this my friend
http://oldsap.blogspot.com/2008/04/network-wizard.html
I currently use the same version as from that link but my "about page" have no HTC logo.
If it doesn't work on your T01A, please tell me I will upload another file for you

Yes, it still works well. I get full signal bar instead of 3 bars.
Now I can still access internet through EDGE (it's 17 hours after I flashed your ROM). It ""may"" get 3G signal but I cannot test 3G because my carrier doesn't support 3G.
I think different ROM may somehow act differently to simunlock (just my theory).
I hope the signal will not lose shortly.
Some simunlock make a phone usable by telling that it is in roaming mode (I think you guys already known). My "3G" simunlock also works like that.
However, some simunlock tell the phone that it's used in China so every time you want to find your location in Google map, it always points you at some where in China (experienced from one of "i-smart phone" simunlock model but other models of this brand works well with Docomo's Touch PRO).Unfortunately, I don't know how to check and avoid from buying this poor quality simunlock.
....Just poped up in my thought. My T01A's radio version is 5005.1901.20.
I used to update every patch update from Docomo for Japanese ROM (I mean every update for 6.1 and 6.5) that may updated my radio. If your T01A radio rom has the older version from mine, try to find the way to flash back to Japanese ROM and update it before flash modified UK ROM.
Again, I may be wrong

The phone will show a triangle on the taskbar when it detect that our T01A's used outside Japan. This is Roaming mode.

In roaming mode, the signal is quite unstable (depends on various factors eg. phone, simunlock and the quality of your SIM).
What is your radio version?
OK。。。I see,my phone have no roaming mode....
my radio version is 5005.1901.20,too
Yeah, but I can't adjust the setting to use the GPRS function with my Mr.sim.And the signal is very unstable, only in city center, outside I will get "no service" meassage
Work with X02T too?
plz you know if this new way for flash the TG01 japanese will work with X02T too? or just with T01A?
You should contact to cotulla and he can find the encrypt key ,maybe the x02 rom is different with t01A... after that you contact cedesmith to add this key into tgtool...
and maybe you need to create a English rom for X02T by your self .It's not difficult....
have any way for check if the key or Rom will work with my X02T (TG01 by SoftBank)?

Anyone have a ROM of WM2003 that works w/ T-mobile USA? I tried about 5 and no luck. XDA dev Rom works great and so does my old one, but can't find a 2003 rom that works. All either hang at the boot/welcome screen or don't boot.
--Mike
So far I have tried 3 different 2003 roms.
The first the "O2" rom loaded, but gave me some intermittent problems.
The second “For Testing Only” rom worked great. Only one small problem with Microsoft reader. I most likely wouldn’t have changed except that the new ROMkitchen got me more excited than it probably should have.
Now I am using the ROMkitchen version very happily….(same problem with the reader though)
Interesting because I tried the ROMkitchen version yesterday and got the same, hangs on welcome screen result. Did you do anything special other than put it on SD with XDArit? I have Wallaby 5.15 bootloader which I think is what the unit shipped with but from what I've read this is fine.
I'm just at a loss because I've tried most everything I can think of. Which file type did you select from the ROMkitchen? I grabbed the nb1. Should I try NBF? Does it matter what I put in the "header string" at the bottom of the ROMkitchen page? I noticed when I try to upgrade it says my device is PW10B1. Does that matter?
Maybe you can post or email me your ROM and I can try that today.
--Mike
I didn't use the SD card boot with the Kitchen rom version. I had the Kitchen create an .exe file and let it load through usb. I actually did it 2 times...and it worked both times. Just did it the second time after they fixed PocketMVP.
I will e-mail it to you if you want, but I think that you should try creating an .exe through the Kitchen first...since that is what I would e-mail anyway.
Scott
The Hang that you see may be caused by the simtoolkit loading on startup. Try removing the link in the windows startup folder. that may help
My fellow T-Mobile WM2003 users, I have been using all 3 versions successfuly with no freezups. There is a little trick that increases stability when on the US networks:
Go to your \Windows\StartUp\ directory and DELETE Ussd.lnk and STK.lnk.
These are autoconfiguration apps that work with European providers but do nothing for the T-Mobile network; so much so, that with the T-Mo original ROM these apps were not used at all.
When these apps run in T-Mo's (Cingular's) network here in Los Angeles area, I've even experienced random cold resets when switching cell sites.
Ok, sounds like that's the problem then, but how do I remove this from the startup if I can't get it to go past the welcome screen? Can I bould a ROM in the kitchen w/o these options? I only saw an option for where to "move" these apps and not an option to not have them installed at all.
--Mike
Sorry, the kitchen doesn't allow you to do that. If you know how, you can burn your own rom and exclude these items. Anyone know what ussd is for? As mentioned, i have deleted the toolkit link and have not had any problems, just curious as to what ussd is.

Now it does...
Check the new 'Remove 'stk.lnk' from Startup folder' option. If someone tells me what ussd is and why it's bad, I'll add it to the remove list for this option...
Tried the new ROM w/ stk.lnk
Ok, I tried the new ROM and still no luck. Tried it as both .exe and as a SD flash and get the same net result. System hangs after bringing up the radio stack version and OS version as well as the third number which is: G324e4.
This device flawlessly runs the 3.17 xda ROM as well as T-mobile 3.14 so I don't understand why it will not take any 2003 ROM successfully. Any more ideas?
USSD
Unstructured Supplementary Services Data
USSD is a means of transmitting information or instructions over a GSM network. USSD has some similarities with SMS since both use the GSM network's signaling path. Unlike SMS, USSD is not a store and forward service and is session-oriented such that when a user accesses a USSD service, a session is established and the radio connection stays open until the user, application, or time out releases it. This has more in common with Data than SMS. USSD text messages can be up to 182 characters in length.
STK is for SIM ToolKit - It should not cause any problems unless you have a really old SIM Card.
I think USSD is basicaly a thing for ie. GSM banking - it allows the network to send you binary SMSes deciphered by the SIM (when I login with my GSM key to a bank account, I receive a message with temporary password, it is not sent through ordinary SMS, but delivered to the SIM toolkit area which is protected by PIN)

might be a stupid question but, i checked the command to remove stk.lnk from startup in (one of the reigstry hacks) and the command is the same as to add object. how do u remove it from startup, is it based on the file name. this one has rmobj extension.

Hello all,
well it is not 100% free, you need to earn it.
The price is to allow me to downgrade the RSU to 4.16
I am unable to do this and have tried so many things so far without any success.
I have RSU 3.23 now
ROM wise, I have no problem, I can change it using the SD method and the ismgtool.
Well, I am sure you will ask, what is the guarntee? Tkae my word for it for the time being and try me.
You can send me a private message or e-mail me ([email protected])
If I receive the solution from more than person, I will look at the time I have received the pm/e-mail and the prize will go to the eriler responder.
HURRY :!:

Work harder folks
You have "RSU 3.23" and want to **downgrade** to "4.16"? What am I missing :?: :?:
yeah, numbers are meaninless!
Anyway, just solve to me the issue of downgrading 3.23
Hmmm ! i guess you can't
Hello
as far i know and if my memory still works i read something which says you Can not roll back to older version and that was on the 3.23.01 release note.
HTC Advice not to try to downgrade your GSM cause you might distroy your device and lose the GSM capabilities.
also few other issues include
Fixed: SIM unlock code hacked
1. Disable memory dump function.
2. Unlock code encryption.
Fixed: Do not auto-reactivate PDP context when network reject PDP context activation
Fixed: Specific message should store in SIM without affecting the VMI
Solution: Change the DCS of specific OTA message from 0x00 to 0xf2 (Store message to SIM)
Fixed: After dail a wrong number, dail second call with correct number within 30 seconds,
this call will be established for 2 seconds, then be automatically cancelled.
Solution: ACI state is not syncronize to MMI state. Syncronize the state of ACI and MMI.
Fixed: USSD Problem
Fixed: Inter-SGSN Issue

Othman,
are you replying to a different topic? :?
What is the relation between what you have written and the downgrading issue?
Place adaptrom.exe in the up or down grade application folder.
run adaptrom, then the up or downgrade application.
This will change the rom as well as the radio stack.

you can send me the device, i can run over it with my car, get AT&T to replace it with a new one ( I have insurance from them) and BAM! start from scratch
OK, how about this:
1. Obtain the RSUpdate.exe and accompanying files for the radio stack version you want to upgrade/downgrade to.
2. Copy them to the \Windows folder on your device
3. On the device (use File Manager), run RSUpdate.exe. This will manually update the radio stack.
4. Send the free XDA to me, since a winner is me!
JoshB
2JoshB: It is not so easy as you wish.
You may not downgrade 4.21 radio to 3.19 and below in this way (though it is Ok for greater versions). The restriction is by design and appears during actual uploading to radio module due to some kind of _internal_ checking.
I can suggest the following:
-convert RSUpgrade.cp64 you want to upload to binary format. Let it be 3.19 for example
-try to find 03 13 and 13 03 entries (= 3.19 in hex)
-If entries are exists -try to replace them with 04 15 or 15 04 accordingly (= 4.21 in hex).
-convert RSUpgrade.cp64 back to text
-try to flash these files in the usualj way (upload to windows etc...)
But this way is very dangerous. I mean that such a stupid replacement may corrupt radio stack code, so your radio will be broken completely.
More than that: radio stack version checking may be implemented not by number but features available in RSU. So version changes may not be enough to downgrade radio.
the more reliable way is to disassemble radio stack and bypas version checking in more sensible way. But unfortunately my qualification is not enough for doing this.

Hi there.
I've just bought a Touch 3g with Orange in France, and even though the box has WiFi written all over it, it appears that I can only connect to Orange WiFi hubs. I have a different hub at home and would like to know whether I can unlock the WiFi function so that it is free to work with any WiFi connection.
I've had a look on here and can't find the answer to my question. I apologise in advance if I've missed the thread somewhere.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
PS - As someone new to this geek lark, I'd also be interested in knowing what programs I really ought to install onto the phone. You're top 5 programmes if you like.
The orange branded phones (if they are the same as the uk ones) have the unique manager not the standard wifi one. So even if you have an orange wifi hub you still don't get a wifi connection (at least not one you can do anything useful with)
Unique is a wierd orange version of voip.
The only way of changing it (i think) would be to flash a new rom to the phone.
Hi,
I got a French Orange phone too that I have flashed to non-Orange ROM, so Wifi works OK.
For programs I would recommend SBP Mobile Shell to replace Touch Flo, and TrackMe to have fun with the GPS ( I find it awesome).
Bonne chance
TrackMe does not work on my Jade (.net 3.5 installed), but I can recommend GPS Cycle Computer as well. Supports a lot of data formats, check the link or the xda-dev-thread for more information.
Thanks very much for all your help. I'll have a look at flashing the ROM and will give that a go.
Is flashing Rom a particularly complicated or potentially phone breaking experience? It's my wife's new phone, and I don't want to live with an angry woman whose phone no longer works

No it's not complicated ; yes is very much potentially phone breaking
FYI I flashed HardSPLv3 on my phone (see Jade ROM forum) , downloaded the kitchen (idem), built a ROM using htcrt (in the kitchen) and the OS.nb found here http://www.planete-htc.com/index.php?mod=forum&ac=voir&ref=20&cat=220&id=18955, and flashed it. And tada, a stock french phone with wifi access.
Your SPL/ROM will degrade from 1.7 to 1.4 though.
OK. Thanks Gomi. I'll have a look and see if I really want to risk it or not.
Hello @ll.
I have a french Orange Jade too.
The UMA radio ROM make me sick !
But for me, the HardSPL does not work... The RUU progressbar still blocked at 0%.
fyi : I have the SPL 1.71.000 version.
Concerning the HardSPL, i'm not using the original exe, because of the unavailablity of the "server". I use an extracted nbh file of the HardSPLV3.
Any idee ?
fyi : because of specifity of the RUU used to flash the HardSPL, you can not use an another RUU to flash it.
With luck, the HardSPL setup exe have found the server, and now, all is ok !
Hi mate and welcome to the slippery slope. I only have Dad to convert now...
There may be another way to prevent the Orange rubbish crippling your phone - when you do a hard reset your phone will give you three seconds after the first boot-up before it begins to customise the ROM with all the operator-specific stuff. If you do a soft reset within those three seconds you prevent the customisation. If the crippled WiFi is part of this customisation then you'll end up with the default Windows Mobile WiFi manager. This trick used to work on my Universal and my Elf. You can experiment with many hard resets until you get it right.
Having created a vanilla Windows Mobile system you may need to fanny around unlocking the extended ROM and cherry-picking the customisations that you do want (such as the GPRS connection data) but this effort might be worth it to have an unbranded phone.
Flashing a new ROM will almost certainly invalidate your warranty.
(Oh, and a hard reset will wipe off all your data of course.)
Thanks SiliconS.
Have tried that and I don't get the 3 second warning. I just get a message saying that this will wipe the phone (hard reset) and asks me to press 'enter' to continue (which I obviously do). It then tells me:
Format FAT partition
FAT partition complete
before carrying on with all the Orange stuff. Have tried randomly pressing soft reset at various times, and all this does is turn the phone off...
Thanks anyway though.
That's weird. In that case Orange must have embedded their rubbish within the fundamental ROM rather than the extended ROM like everybody else does.
Flashing a completely new ROM may be your only hope, Luke. HTC have released an official ROM for the Jade that surely wouldn't invalidate your warranty...
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=174&cat=2&dl_id=537
I think an official ROM update could be the way forward yeah. I'll have a look this weekend maybe.
for the benefit of people who may be subscribed to this thread, I think I have found a fix for the orange rom using data connection instead of wifi, read on here:-

Hi friends,
I recently bought a HTC HD2 locked to T Mobile in UK. I used a Rebel sim to unlock it and I am now using it on O2.
However I am not able to start internet, neither can I receive internet settings from O2.
The message that gets displayed tell the phone is pre set to T Mobile internet settings and these cannot be changed
Is there anyway I can bypass these? Anyone else faced same thing before?
Thanks
Metal
settings - menu - all settings - connections - there should be a connection setup option in there.
if not, use this
phoneroms.co.uk/Programs/connectionsetup.cab
instal it, reboot the phone, it will auto run when you restart and configure your phone.
samsamuel
thanks for reply.
Yes I went to that menu option but the only thing I see is TMobile.
I am asked to select country (i select as UK), then I am asked to select operator and only option I have is T - Mobile.
Besides when I click on any browser, I get the T Mobile flash screen and then the browser starts.
I get an error as I am not a T Mobile customer. I have a link for settings there. When I click that it says -
This connection is pre configured. It cannot be modified.
You need to flash the WWE HTC ROM, as the T-Mobile ROM has the internet settings preset and you cannot change them.
hollinshead...
Thanks for the reply. I was guessing so from the little bit of research I have done.
Can you please give me some pointers in that directions...not really handholding but some links or step by step guide ?
I am new to WinMo actually...have been a symbian loyalist till now !
Sorry for sounding lame, but what is WWE?
WWE = World Wide Edition
Thanks.
I tried to d/l it from the HTC site. When I enter the serial no. I get
Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
What are the other options I have? Other reputable links from where I can get it?
Can I d/l any ?
Thanks in advance
you probaly need to install hspl and then flash it
Thanks.
I got hold of a serial no after random searching. I entered that on HTC site and my download is in progress for WWE ROM.
Can I install it? Will that cause any adverse effects?
try using this network connection settings cab.
It appears you didn't try the one samsamuel posted.

That does indeed work and I am now able to use internet on O2 even though I am locked to T Mobile. However I cant receive network settings. With O2 you send active to 2020 and you receive the internet settings. I get a message back that there is a problem and contact customer services. That is not an issue now as I can use the internet.
However I am curious to know if I will be able to upgrade my ROM in the future. I downloaded the WWE ROM but I got 294 Error for invalid vendor when I tried to install
In simplistic terms what is HSPL? is that irreversible? Are there any links for tutorials which make it simple for WinMo beginners.
Sorry but its my first day on HD2 and on WinMobile

Yes I did, but for someone who started using a new phone out of the box just few hours back, its a bit over the head.
I am trying to come to grips on what is HSPL, SPL, flashing, etc.
So I wanted to know if there is any basic tutorial, help pages etc which can be useful for starters. I am a tech guy so I can understand the tech terms but everyone needs a guidance first time around.
Bought TMOUS HD2 phone on ebay.
rom works! with HSPL indication. Software info in phone shows 2.12radio version installed. phone is simlock free. being abroad service conection/registration with valid simcard does not want to register with shown/choosen paid network(phone shows all networks in my area).
while flashing radio version shows 2.13 V >>update to 2.12.50.02_2 I downloaded and updated anyway. the phone indicated flashing succesfully completed. old service connection problem stayed and phone show unchanged information. Got similar good working phone with radio 2.08... V. Want to try to flash to this radio. possible??? Cheers from a 66 old who has learned "don't manage what you can't manage" and "learn first before doing" HELP PLEASE
you can flash any radio that has x.xx.50.x in the version, so long as it is 2.06.50.x or higher. If the version says 51 instead of 50, DO NOT TOUCH IT
The reason for not connecting abroad is not connected to teh radio version, rather it is probably more likely that it doesnt have the correct connectionsetup.cab installed, because the T Mo one doesnt include many networks (or maybe only t mo + roaming partner networks)
Get THIS and install it, it will auto run when you reboot, and it contains network settings for pretty much the world.
Dear Samsamuel Thanks for help and solution. Down loaded your caps, unzipped it and got a corrupt notice. This is frightning stuff I go into. also having no knowledge how to load or copy? the given caps on the right place in the phone. as said and shown I am a comming up junior here at higher then average age. Bare with me. I want to learn, that keeps me going

dont unzip it, it isnt a zip file, its a .cab file, , the PC 'thinks' its a type of zip, but they aren't. Copy the whole file to the phone, example the storage card, then browse to it with file manager on teh phone, and run it from there.
