i don't know if it will be compatible with t-mobile us hd2, though

skyfire released today and it aint to bad, just thought id put it out there
oh good...maybe ill finally get a chance to use it!
samer version as before?? .6 something??
No, it was released almost two weeks ago.
I am on the Beta 2 list (confirmed on the website just now), but didn't get any notification about the download. Any suggestions on how to get it?
Any other sprint users having problems with flash on this. videos and other flash items are VERY jerky. Practically no motion. I even reset the phone with similar results. would the custom rom here work better?
Skyfire Release
Just got the invite yesterday after 6 months of waiting.
i signed up for the beta 2 test back in April...im hoping i get my invite soon.
by any chance, do u guys know what the difference is between Opera and this software? after looking at the video on youtube and playing with Opera on my 6800, im not sure y there's so much hype...aside from Skyfire is 100% server based so information is trasfered faster at the cost of security (info u type may be saved in their servers)...let me know guys.
operamini is server-based also and is faster than skyfire

I disagree with this, I think skyfire is faster.
It is much more stable and can play flash 10 !
get.skyfire.com point that on on opera/IE or w/e
It seems it does not work with the T-mobile proxy plan for those who are wondering. I just tried it . It does seem to start up faster with my Herald.
Can someone tell me the SHA or MD5 hash for this file? It only seem to be getting the same file I got several days ago.
Cool thanks for the heads up, installed and ran good on my TP

Confirmed.
I just downloaded & installed. No reg required.
I still like Iris better for typical website rendering. Skyfire is a bit slow
would the installation of this version delete my currant favs?
Still no VGA rendering. Still sucks on VGA devices.

Skyfire itself uses a proxy, so its highly unlikely it will ever be compatible with another proxy.
Somekind of proxy... It's rendering sites on external server intead of device.
And the redering is slow for me. Uninstalled.
Works pretty fast and good for me. Thanks for pointing out the update.
It is finally getting close to the hype
I was excited when Skyfire was first released, but found that the simple things like text entry made it too much of a hassle to use compared to Iris. I see that now many of those shortcomings have been overcome. I'll still use Iris as my primary browser ( I love that most sites show me the "Iphone" version of their site ) but I'll be keeping Skyfire around this time at least for viewing flash sites. I was able to watch Hulu yesterday with Skyfire, and that was pretty cool. If thats all it was good for it would be a keeper.

+1. i dont need it to replace opera - just play video sites like hulu and thats good enough for me
does it still have problems with loading long pages and getting the bottom of them cut off?
Nice browser!
it is best browser i've seen - it requires some power, so do not be surprised with feeble htc units.
iris is ok, but no flash support, and its slower that it should at current state.
skyfire and opera mini - two things that good to have cooked into roms, imo.
416 mhz xscale is enough to handle skyfire.
loved skyfire the minute it came out, simply because of flash support and fast rendering of most sites.
i have two questions.
first is ,will there ever be full flash support on our beloved hd2 like on nokia n900 and is anybody working on that?
second is i tried to install flash lite fix for opera but i cant update opera with update cab that is here on forum and flash fix by itself doesnt work.
sorry for bad english.
with best regards.
Oh how dare you talk like that
replies like that tarnish the reputation of the forum. and make people feel unwelcome. i know you find it frustrating, but could be his first wm phone, and perhaps now his last. perhaps next time they will become isheep.

so tell me again, how do we get flash on our phones.......lol.
go for a beer an chill dude.
i am sorry to insult your great intelligence but the thing is that ie has flash lite 3.1. i am asuming that this is some kind of lighter version of full flash for example flash 9.4 which nokia n900 has. i am talking about real flash.
and yes i know about skyfire but that browser is just not satisfying for me.

The answer is yes it's coming. Adobe have just released a video of the full Flash 10.1 on the HD2 and Nexus One. Should be hitting our phones over the next few months.
Don't bother with IE and people telling you that IE already supports it. It's a waste of time.

ok. thanks for smart answer. it is just pissing me off when they say that ie has flash and they probably never even saw it...
flash in IE is a load of toss and does not work with most sites. Try a streaming music site like We7 from IE and see if you get it to work.
does flash lite 3.1 in the opera mobile beta support text input in flash apps on the hd2?
Example evony.com

Think before you post and please stay on topic. I'm definitely not going to be this generous next time. In fact there should not be a next time.

Alas, there is a news story doing the rounds today which makes it clear that Adobe has cancelled the project to offer Flash player on Windows Mobile.
Link: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/550281?tstart=30
As for WinMo, we have made the tough decision to defer support for that platform until WinMo7. This is due to the fact that WinMo6.5 does not support some of the critical APIs that we need.

I suspect that excuse is bullsh*t; more likely Adobe has realised that Windows Mobile as a platform is dead (now that Microsoft has confirmed that WP7 is not backwards compatible) and has decided to jump straight to writing for WP7 instead. I suspect any other number of other commercial software developers will follow suit....
This is such a shame, I was very much looking forward to real flash support. Skyfire just doesn't cut it.
Damn!
NO. Adobe has abandoned WIndows Mobile 6.5 and cancelled the developement for flash 10.1 on our devices. No Flash for our device period. WinMO 6.5 is dead.
Yes, it is a shame indeed. I wouldn't say WinMo 6.5x is dead tho, far from it.
I wouldn't be suprised if XDA guys are able to extract flash from winmo7, that would be awesome!

I just read this on another website, it looks pretty cool, i already sent my email, hopefully its not one of those april fools prank, well just check it out, I did a search and nothing came out with it so anyway hopefully we'll get skyfire soon enough, that would be a nice nice gift. c:
SkyFire is a rather old browser, I'd say it's pretty trustworthy that this isn't just an april fools joke.

How is the best WM browser rather an old browser?, I believe skyfire has Ajax, Javascript, Flash 10 and everything integrated, how is that an old browser?, Hmm I hope we get it sometime soon anyway.
I sported this when I ran Windows Mobile on my vogue quite some time ago. I wouldn't mind seeing how it preformed on Android

Skyfire great browser on wm ^^ don't know how it will perform on android though.
Hey guys, I just noticed something when going through all my installed apps- The Evo comes with HTC Flash Player preinstalled on 2.1... And it works! Flash support out of the box. Was I the only one that was totally in the dark about this?
How do you get it working?
It just.. works. Browse to a site with flash content, and it should load.
Newgrounds works especially well.
cross my fingers for HULU!!!!!!!

same here, even some of the video bookmark websites for skyfire dont play
Yeah HTC Sense comes with Flash lite. That's the problem though. It sucks lol. Oh and anyone who wanted Hulu once FroYo is released, bad news. Hulu blocked the user agent string fix so FroYo users can't get Hulu anymore.
