Well--- I gotta say something:
I hate freenode. Example: You're in violation of the 'channel naming policy' as it's not 'GROUP REGISTERED', you need to have it double hash.
Get what I mean now? Also, their staff can be, sometimes hostile. Not saying names, they know who they are, so I guess I'll make it on my net.
My net is very close to freenode imho. Services and stuff just like them.

Got a lot of people too on my net. If you noticed, I always put in a irc channel for my rom's and stuff, I just think it's faster. . But I always want to use my servers, as I can make sure that it works, rather than rely on others to keep it up.

yes, I went there.
I run my own irc network, coffeenet, with some friends. we used to be a part of quakenet and have a varied userbase. lots of old school doom players hang out here among other techies.
Anyway, it's not run by assholes, so that's a good start.

I'm looking at doing a stress test on the Nexus one with latitude and to help promote BUZZ even more in the development world. I simply have always wanted to add as many people as I could and I figured they're are others out there so with all that said, if you're ballsy enough post up your email for latitude.

All in all it is a break down of whats going on around you. say you're at a resturant and you really enjoy it and want to get the word out. BUZZ about it, and when you do you can take a picture to show people where it is and it geotags the location. its as simple as that! Its up to the community to report what's going on and what they think about certain subjects.
Example..
I went to the mall today and it was really busy
"02/23/2010 tThe mall was really busy today stand clear unless you specifically need to come"
It then geotags the location you are at.

sounds cool but i still think some people may have insecurities about their anonymousness, ie dont like people knowing where they actually are in the world... most people like hiding behind their device or computer screen
You could always hide your location to the person who invites you.
I agree with you but this is an open invatation for all those who see no risk in showing where they are. You can always turn sharing off thats the best part about latitude.

I've been Buzzing off and on a little since it started. There are only a few others around me that do it too, all of them on Iphones, found ONE guy on a nexus. I don't have any friends with Android, so no one on my latitude list. I'm considering doing this...

I think buzz is better though, but I dont think you can add people on friends list there. Or I probably just dont know how. lol.

The servers (more than one. ) have a extremely, EXTREMELY fast uplink speed. 2.5 Gigabits a second enough for you? On 3 servers?

I don't think he was trying to be mean, I think he was saying "Are you sure that your server can handle this?". I could see someone hosting it from their home or something to try to help out, but they have a very slow connection. These are real servers, don't worry hehe. I do work with servers, so I know stuff about them .
As much as I hate to do it...

Overall I like to host on my own server because I can completely control it and can easily pull downloads or change something if I need to. But I know on release days my site drags so having some decent mirrors would be nice. I'll be in touch. And thanks for this.

I know what you mean; before I didn't want to host my rom on my servers because of bandwidth concerns. Now, I doubt it will be a problem .

Hi all, as freenode's getting rather... netsplitty (for IRC noobs: the servers die. Very frustrating.) pretty much every other night, I (well, riot did it) thought that I'd create a secondary IRC channel, so we have a backup when freenode's misbehaving. It's at irc.fossnet.info #evo.
Webchat: if you don't have a IRC client, or you're too lazy to get one P), use the webchat client at http://webirc.fossnet.info:9090/?channels=evo&uio=d4
Oh, by the way, hopefully getting the evo in November!
Or how about not? Try connecting to a different server if yours keeps disconnecting. I have not seen a netsplit as of late, and I'm in #Android, #CyanogenMod, #HTC-EVO, and #CM6-Snap 24/7.

They've had issues late at night with routing. I'm friends with some of freenode's operators, it's some routing stuff. Either way, it's always nice to have a few rooms.

Auto join after kick, its an option in IRC clients. Does wonders.
Every device I dev on but this device has an IRC channel to help devs and users alike with anything related to their devices. Because of this I decided to make #htc-ace on freenode for general discussion, dev help, really ANYTHING related to these devices .
