Currently using T8585 on AT&T and can't seem to keep a signal. Have flashed several custom rom/radio combinations but wanted to get other users opinion on which radio version has worked best for them.
Altuswire, I've been using 2.09.51.03_2 for a few days and can say I'm surprised. I'm getting 4 bars in places that I use to get 1 or none.
Thanks for the reply. Are you using a custom rom, or one of the official ones?
Using the 2.09.51.03_2 with LEOV3.0 UltimatePower [21895 Com 2].
Battery life and signal strength best I have had with AT&T.
I'm using 2.09.51.03_2 w/ Artemis v6.0; I'm having much better reception and better battery life.
Are you getting 3G Coverage with it on AT&T?
yes, on 3G reception

sorry for the mislead; 3G reception is on my T9193. A T8585 no matter what radio you use will never get 3G on at&t. The bands (ex: 850mhz for at&t) are not changeable they are part of the hardware.

This quote is VERY misleading and you might want to clear it up. The T9193 is the Telstra version of the phone and NOT the T-Mobile version which cannot, and WILL NOT, work with AT&T 3G.
Thanks everyone for your replies.
After trying several other combinations to include what was suggested; I've using CleanEx HQ 1.54 w/2.09 radio to work best for me. Been using this combo for a couple of days now, and seems to be keeping full bars on reception. I don't get the 576mb patch but getting the bars is more important at the moment.
Sorry to bump an old topic, but I need this answered...

Is this because it will brick the device (as bad radio flashes can) or is it because the .51 radios simply do not function on TMoUSA?

Hi all
I'm currently using the Radio Version 2.10.50.28_2
I'm haven't had any problems with it whatsoever, but I was wondering if that is the best radio in terms of signal quality available for my location
I'm in London and my operator is o2 and do get pretty decent signal, but of course if there is a better radio suited for these conditions I'd like to have it
So is 2.10.50.28_2 the one I should continue to use or should I be using a different one?
RAdio
I am ORINGE customer using AxLor V 10 the same radio and everything is really PERFECT ! ! ! London area too ! ! 3G everywhere
Have to admit the 3G network is pretty decent, getting HSDPA as well =]
Guess I am on the best Radio
Radio's are always subjective. I personally find the best radio for EU roms to be 2.09.51.03_2. Brilliant call quality and decent signal. Looking at you're signature rom, you appear to be on a Tmous rom so in order to see that extra ram you'll need to stick to 2.**.50 radio's.
i am on vodafone uk and in a constant GPRS signal area. only time i get 3G+ is when i visit my girlfriend in lincoln then its constant.
my radio is 2.10.50.19_2. I use the Artimis V14 so the extra is not enabled tho i have tried other version 2.10 radios and get worse battery life.
With this one my phone is good for 1.5 days use. and thats with normal usage, net, text, calls to mrs etc.
i did condition the battery mind.
Just got my HD2 on Vodafone.
Signal is fine when the phone is stationary, but when I hold it.. it drops from 4 bars to either 1 or none.
I have:
- Disabled data/3g/hspda etc.
- Tried many different radio's up until 2.12.50.02_2 (which is an improvement but it still happens)
- Updated ROM to latest Energy Series.
Am I right in thinking the phone is faulty?... or is this common?
Thanks
Hehe, this is ridiculous. I believe HD2 has one of the best signal reception among the smartphones. My signal has always been great so I believe your phone is faulty. My 2c. Let's hear the others.

That is normal, our big heads are blocking the signal, but seriously, the "bars" are misleading, thanks to all those Cingular commercials , it really takes good signal quality to get a good connection, not good signal strength ...
So if the bars are dropping, and you cannot use the phone then that is a problem, but if the bars drop , and the phone/data/whatever works fine, then it is not really an issue ...
Just as an example, when I am at the college here, I have only one bar, but I am on hsdpa, and get like 2 meg of data, wish it was hsdpa+ but that is a diff story, and the phone works fine with only 1 bar, now inversely , people on VZ where I am at have 3 bars and their data is sooooo slow, and they drop calls ...
p.s. if it is dropping to none, check your area make sure they are not upgrading the towers, it is happening a lot and often here in the US in some areas ....

Yeah it's dropping to the point it loses signal, I try to call my mobile from my landline and I get the answering service.
What's really strange is, I just put a T-Mobile sim card in... and when I hold the phone, there's no bar dropping at all.
So in summary.
Vodafone Sim:
Stationary - 4 bars
Holding - drops to the point of no reception
T-Mobile Sim
Stationary - 4 bars
Holding - 4 bars

No it's not the US one.
So.. combination of hardware fault and weak signal?
wrong forum. this should be posted at the iphone4 forums.
the HD2 had to be one if the best reception phone and i am sure many agrees.
Just phoned up Vodafone to see if any problems, and they said there are no faults in the area at all. They said it was probably the handset but I explained that I had tried with a T-Mobile and Orange sim with no such problems.
They then said they'll send me out a new Vodafone sim card as they suspect that could be the issue. And that could take up to 5 working days... taking me out of my 7-day cancellation period, so naturally I said no thanks.
Going to head into my town center and pick up a Vodafone sim from the £1 shop... if I still have that problem I'm cancelling as I can find the same deal on Orange.
Question...
Has any one experienced a sim card being at fault for bad/dropping connections??? Seems complete rubbish to me, especially seeing as the sim is new...
ive seen a few vodafone users saying that .50 radios are no good for use with vodafone.....
id try a .51 radio and let it settle in for a few days......

that's weird.... vodafone do seem to be generally piss poor for signal...despite their claims of being one of the best.
Id still suggest letting that radio settle in for 48 hours our so.

Thinking I'm going to end up canceling contract, if .51 works it's going to restrict me from using certain roms .

What is the best radio for mytouch 4g? Im getting very bad wifi signal.
My mobile signal is ok I just want better wifi signal.
I'm using stock radio on cm7 nightly build uhh I forgot.flashed 2days aago.
I live in fort worth area btw.
Don't tell me to try each and every one of em...

Best one is whichever works best for you. Different radios have their places where they work best. Radio that I'm using where I'm at my not work as good where you're at and what not.
But, its always good to try the latest things. So try the latest radio and see.
im using royal ginger 2.1 and i notice the improvement on my wifi signal. i usually get 2 bars in my room when i was running cm7 but now i get 3 bars with royal ginger.
I'm not a T-mobile user and i'm in GSM network.
After upgrading radio , i have lots of gsm antenna loose problems from time to time.
i tried many radio files, best for me is T-mobile stock radio PD15IMG-12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26

Hey, how's it going?
I'm using the "HTC Panaxhe Stock" radio from this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059347
I'm thinking about changing it though as I'm having quite a few connection problems. I keep losing signal
Not sure if it's a fault with the device itself or the radio. What radio are you using and have you experience similar connectivity problems?
i was with mt4g stock now I'm trying panache.. lets see how it goes
I'm using stock radio, and I get about 2-3 mbps down, .5-1 mbps up consistently.
Re. Radio
I flashed the t-mobile stock radio and have been having better reception. The speed has not increased though; it still stays around 2.5 down 1.7 up.
HOW TO Flash T-Mobile USA Radio Via Recovery (Needs More Work/Tweaking)
All credit goes to he_stheone64 and his thread located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245615
Credit: The War Horse - for telling me the obvious, how to get the radio was listed in the thread above all along
I apologize this is my first stab at development and for any errors you may or may not run into. This is fully expected to work with he_stheone64 method above as the only thing I changed was the radio.img.
This thread taught me how to extract the T-mobile USA radio from my HTC One. Now its time for those in the community who really want to have T-mobile 3G speeds to test this out!
This is for you and you deserve it. As I promised with no more words....
This is how you can upgrade your RADIO without S-Off
1. Download Radio update.zip below and copy to your SD
2. Only an optional step for those, who want to have a Radio Firmware backup just in case
a) Connect your device via USB in recovery and open cmd in fastboot folder:
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p31 of=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img
You will now have current Radio on SD as radio_firmware.img
Expected output:
PHP Code:
Code:
~ # dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p31 of=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p31 of=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img
153601+0 records in
153601+0 records out
78643712 bytes (75.0MB) copied, 11.826523 seconds, 5.4MB/s
3. Now just flash the Radio update.zip as usual in recovery, reboot your device and enjoy the T-mobile radio
In case you want / need to restore your current Radio backup:
Either you adjust updater script to radio_recovery.img or just do it via adb in recovery:
dd if=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p31
Download Radio from:

Good luck with the thread, you can use my flashable. That will make it bullet proof and easier for all the guys here.

Give it a try. International radios have been flashed using this same tried and true method listed in the first post. All I did was add the t-mobile radio and viola! At this point everything is safe and its just the question will the developer/ATT phone let us call using T-mobile 3G
If it doesn't then please let us know and flash your original radios back from the back up in step 2.
my order is still in picking status.

Id love to try it on my dev edition, but i havent switched to tmobile yet. hopefully later this week, and my area has LTE and is refarmed. Id like to see a radio that enables all frequencies, but i dont think that its possbile. at least not yet.
I just flashed it. copied the old radio img, then flashed the zip file.
But I don't notice any difference in radio reception. Network connection changes from E to 3G to H to no service every few minutes just as before I flashed it...
I live in a refarmed area, but my G2 would always have a solid 4G connection in my room. Not to mention the service bars are between 2-3 on the One. I usually get full reception here.

I don't want to flash it as I man return the device (for a TMO version, or maybe an S4/other), but I can confirm the same behavior with the stock radio:
1900 refarmed. Gets "H" sometimes, but never for long. Mostly switches between "E" and "3G". Old TMO phone had solid "H" always. My bars are about the same as before... usually... right now my phone is only showing 2 bars and "G" which must be slower than Edge I guess.
you may get same connection with tmo htc one in your area.

I'm on Tmo with a 32gb unlocked One, so I gave it a shot. I have a SGS2 as well so I know I get HSPA+ here and not Edge, which is what I'm getting now on my One.
I backed up the radio, unlocked the bootloader, flashed recovery, flashed supersu, flashed Tmo radio, did factory reset. No luck, still getting Edge on my One.

Keeping the solid "H" is just a tmobile software trick. Like all carriers they "tweak" their signal icons and bars to keep the icon on while in range of hspa+ but most, if not all, unlocked phones will show "3g" until you start transferring data such as opening a web page or syncing weather or mail, etc. then it'll show the "H". If youre showing "3g" then youre in 1900mhz "4g" range.
As for you only getting "G" it really sucks but you seem to be getting crappy signal.
