Ok, im trying to find some stuff for Manila 2.1 WITHOUT SENSE. it just doesnt seem to exist... or at least i cant find it.
I want to know what tabs are included with the 15 Tabs mod, and where to get them.
I would like the stock TP1 Neon slider icons, saw a guy on XDA that had them, but cant find the files.
You made me laugh Manilla 2.1 WITHOUT SENSE does NOT excist. Manilla = Sense...
Manilla 2.1 is called sense.
Manilla 2.5 is called sense.
Wow, really? Then your an idiot too! TP1's have Manila 2.0 and WinMo 6.1, TP2 has Manila 2.1 (no Sense) and WinMo 6.1 stock....
SOME versions of 6.1 come with Sense, but not Sprint, and i believe 2.5 Sense comes with WinMo 6.5...
Talon,
Try searching for Manila TF3D v. 2.1
(Which Lenny, is not the same thing as Sense 2.1)

dont be so rude dude, htc has renamed manila to sense. so its sense 2.1 and 2.5
Hold ur fire!! This make me a little confused too. So what's real difference between Manila & Sense??
Both posters are correct. TF3D originally was called manilla. HTC Sense is technically the upgraded version of TF3D. Most people simply refer to HTC's GUI as Sense instead of manilla or TF3D.
Since many of the roms here are from HTC hero,hd2 etc etc, they are using the newer Sense GUI.
Original roms, use the manilla GUI, which was been re-marketed also as Sense. So manilla/TF3D was renamed Sense 2.1. Sense 2.5 is the original Sense which was first on the HD2 and HTC Hero.
This will help some.

Using any numbers in the search (simple or advanced) gains only an error, which is why i posted. Try searching for '15 tabs' and itll go to the advanced search page with 'No results'...

I disagree a little, there IS a difference between Manila 2.1 and 2.1 w/Sense. Try putting a Sense item on regular 2.1 and watch it break. I tried PPCgeeks.com to sort out the TP2 stuff, got much support, but they didnt do anything about it. When you ask for customized stuff, everyone assumes youre using a cooked version of 6.5 (which has Sense 2.1 or 2.5 depending the ROM/Chef), not 6.1, and then the Manila version gets even more in the way of stuff.
I mean i like my TP2, it works like the TP1 should have, but the TP1 had so much more support for the stock ROM's and 6.1.

For the neon slider icons, try either or both of the cabs I attached here, they might be what you're thinking of. If not, they uninstall easily.
I've also had trouble finding a bunch of TF3D 2.1 compatible sliders etc, it's clear that the bulk of the interest and efforts here now are sense 2.5-related. I think you might have a little better luck googling (not through XDA) for "TF3D 2.1" than "sense 2.1"...I've found that most of the stuff you're looking for to be tagged that way.
brent372 has put together a website that does a great job of explaining and displaying the differences between TF3D 2.1 and Sense 2.1, and he has a fair amount of customizations for each, particularly sliders/icons...check it out HERE

Did either of the neon sliders end up being the one you're looking for?
Since you're running TF3D 2.1, you can easily build your own sliders using HDWalls, and you can use just about any images you want for the icons...the app does a great job of resizing them as needed and building a cab to install the whole slider for you.

Yes it was the one i wanted. Now im looking for a taskbar of the same lol. I didnt know that HDWalls was a program, thought it was just a 'image on all tabs' thing.
Thanks.
How come none of the stock Icon sets i can find, dont have the Navigation icon? The Neon set above has a 'layered' one, meaning it sets it over top the grey icon (off center though).
Oh, and the HDWalls is working nicely, got two icons done so far

Navigation Icon? I don't have a 'navigation' tab on my 6.1, so I'm guessing that it's not part of the regular set of tabs and therefore there's not a provision for it in the usual list of manila files for the icons.
If you (or somebody) can just pin down the exact name of the manila file for that specfic tab's icons, you can use HDWalls to create one (for a different tab), and then just rename it to match the odd manila file related to the nav. tab. Let me know if that makes sense...I can do it better than I can describe it lol
I have the Touch Pro2 which still has TF3D 2.1 (non-sense lol).
How do i go about locating it? I know the files are in the Windows folder, but how to view them? Guess ill do some google searching too.
I also want the comm manager tab and the programs tab back, that was on the TP1...
Try CFC GUI and make your icons: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470798
Have never heard of a navigation tab though, but if exists, you'll be able to find it with CFC GUI

If you go with default background on Sense 2.1 you should get animated weather. This cab gives you animated weather for any background.
All credits to the original programmer.
Ok, excuse me if i'm wrong, but I was under the impression that TouchFLO3D and Sense 2.1 were the same thing. I do not have any weather on my home tab. I am running the stock WM6.5 ROM on an AT&T Branded Tilt 2.

I believe the last "TF3D" was in winmo 6.1, and starting with 6.5 it became the sense interface...and to further confuse things, the last version of TF3D and the first version of sense (on winmo anyway) are both referred to as "2.1" So, in other words, there exists both a TF3D 2.1 and a Sense 2.1, but they're not exactly the same thing.
Ahh, well then, I have TouchFLO3D v2.1. It actually says "TouchFLO3D" when the plugin is loading. I didn't think there was a difference. My mistake. So I guess my question should be, "Is there a weather clock, like that in Sense 2.5, that will run on TouchFLO3D v2.1?"

Nope, my new Tilt 2 had TF3D and Winmo 6.5. To my knowledge sense is an adaptation from other devices that the sense interface has been skimmed from and cooked into a custom rom. I don't believe there is any way to get the Home screen weather on a stock Tilt 2 rom with TF3D. Upgrade to a custom rom, it is worth it, even though you will find yourself forever tinkering with your phone from the day you flash your first one.
I am REALLY confused as to how to get and install themes on my new phone. Some problems i have come across so far, with any instructions i have found, are:
Diamond TF3D Config DOES NOT work on my phone
I CANNOT untick TouchFlo3D as it DOES NOT appear in the items list of the today settings.
Can anyone shed some light on how you theme the phone. What can i be doing wrong?

First you have to know what version of manila you're using. Are you using stock rom?
sounds like he doesnt have touchflo at all....
update rom, maybe then try...
It goes by different names... see if you have something called HTC Sense in your home items. Or Manilla
How are you trying to install the theme's? Are you talking about a theme for the menu bars (top and bottom) or are you talking about a theme for HTC Sense (Aka Touch flo 3d)
Each should basically install via a cab which is an install program. If its a standard windows mobile theme which will just change the background the bars then you just have to move the theme file which you can move over to a folder onto your phone (not SD card) and you should see it in your themes section in home settings.
If you want to switch appearance of HTC Sense/TouchFlo3d/Manilla... whatever you want to call it You can try this too... Theme Switcher] it looks interesting although Ive never tried it
Hope this helps

I have Sense. Not sure why their is one or the other.... I was never asked which i wanted when buying the phone. Even the CUSTOMIZING HOME SCREEN tutorial on tmobile's site assumes you have TF3D.
The whole thing is just confusing.
And the reason i inquire is because i really hate the stock layout/display/theme of my phone but every single editor/mod/customizer i find is for the touchflo3d!!!!!! ESPECIALLY co0kies home screen editor. I really would have liked that. Why do sense users get the shaft?

ummm... you might wanna look into that alittle bit more. cookies home screen works with sense also, 2.1 or 2.5.
TF3D= pretty much the just wm6.1 and what i call a "test" for sense
2.1= pretty much wm6.5 and like TF3d but with graphic improvements and stuff.
2.5= ment for the HD2 but since were cool we ripped it, but pretty much same as 2.1 but just an updated version pretty much
if i may suggest a ROM for you it would be this... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569507
just scroll down to the 2nd post and look for "- valkyrie.ftp v6.7.21904-TR2.5 28th MAY wm6.5 without extra tabbs" it has cookie cooked it it
that would more than likely fit you since its a basic version and has good things preloaded with it. but if you want more than just that then go for this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562773
just look for the download button with sense 2.5 and that has the cookie mod already cooked in it as well
just make sure to hardSPL your rhodium before you do any of this. for any more info just look in the ROM development thread and look for things in there.
with that said im done for today and im going to sleep

Like I said.. Sense is touchflo3D for all intensive purposes... most of the editors you see WILL work with sense. Sense is the newer name for Touchflo3d.
Sense comes in different varients... 2.1 and 2.5... you likely have one of those. I can't say for sure but I thought that cookies home tab only worked with 2.5 which is a significant upgrade. If it does work with Sense 2.1 then odds are you are good either way.

It doesn't work with 2.1 I already tried a while ago and ended up having to hard reset my phone, losing everything, because it screwed it up.
I just got my HTC Touch Pro 2 2 months ago, and it came with Mobile 6.5. Ever since, I've been screwing with it, and I just landed on this forum as well as some other sites. I'm seeing people using words like TF3D, Manila, Sense, etc, which I have no idea what they are.
I'm just trying to figure out how to make my clock transparent, background on all pages and play divx/xvid videos. I found a 9 page long BG for all pages thread, and I found a cab that worked to make all pages the wallpaper, but it messed up my clock in the process. The accompanying cab to restore the clock didn't work. The screenshot of the clock is attached to this post.
I noticed no divx/xvid capability in WMP just like the Windows for Desktops, but it seems like getting those videos to play was more complicated than I thought. I tried the divx player which is just slow. Can someone guide a newbie around?
The easiest way...
Deleted as the post did not apply to Sense 2.1
He isn't using manila 2.5.
Sense/manila are the same thing, it's just that older versions of manila were called the TouchFlo (TF3D) and the newest builds which are manila 2.1 and manila 2.5 are also referred to as sense 2.1 and sense 2.5. How you can tell which you have is going on the settings tab and looking at the "About" (or something lol sorry) and it should say. Another way is seeing as how you don't have any shortcut buttons on your Home tab means 2.1 .
Sorry I can't help you with your clock issue, try looking up "sense 2.1 clock" and try installing one but keep in mine the details as to what else will be installed along side the clock .
Get TCPMP for playing videos. It won't play everything, but is far better then WMP. Best player around for the TP2.

If the cab you installed messed up your clock, try uninstalling the cab.
Got transparent clock and BG on all pages working for 2.1, using the 3 cabs I've attached.
Only things left I'm working on are 1% battery meter and the 1:02 clock flip fix. I found a clock cab I'll install now. The battery meter I heard requires custom taskbars to show it? Just gotta dig around more to find out which ones will work.

be careful about what you try to use! check your manila version. most of cookies stuff is for 2.5, as well as most of the stuff on here and it can bite you if your not careful(had to do several hard resets when i got mine because i did't read) i got my phone in feb. but it still has 2.1 so unless your ready to flash a rom to upgrade, store all of your cabs on your storage card to save yourself some headaches.

No worries. Still learning about this stuff myself. Working on getting stuff off my ipod and onto my phone but I have a handful of DRM protected things. That's a bit more complicated than I thought. Once I can work around that, get my usb -> headset adapter and a fm transmitter, I'll have succeeded in combining my Samsung Gravity, iPod Nano, and iPod Touch into one device: HTC Touch Pro 2.
Is there something like the old HTC Home Customizer that will work for the Touch Pro2? I've spent the last hour wading through this forum trying to find a way to replace the awful, 1970's flippy clock with a simple digital clock.
Is there a solution ?

If Sense == Manila, then the programs mentioned are of no help. I have Manila 2.1, and already screwed up the phone once trying to use a 2.5 program.
I hope someone doesn't chime in "Well just flash a new ROM." Unless someone can show me a compelling reason, (and a detailed list of the changes it would introduce), I'm not interested in doing that.

Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated March 11, 2010*
looks fairly simple:
-Steps for Sense 2.5 2012 Installation (INSTALL ALL TO DEVICE MEMORY):
1. Install .net 3.5
2. Install SDKCerts
3. Disable Auto Phone Shutoff:
-If on battery power: Settings\System\Power\Advanced and uncheck Turn off device if not used for
-If on external power: Settings\System\Power\Advanced and uncheck Turn off device if not used for
4. Disable TF3D 2.0 (Go to Start/Settings/Today/Items and uncheck HTC Sense or TF3D)
5. Soft Reset
6. InstallSense 2.5 2012 CFC / Sense 2.5 2012 CFC Mirror (CFC Compressed and includes all fixes. Once settled in, it runs very well! It also includes some new tabs and many tweaks/goodies! Plus, the multimedia key is now mapped to rotate the screen)
7. Soft Reset
8. Once everything is loaded and stable:
Enable Auto Phone Shutoff:
-If on battery power: Settings\System\Power\Advanced and check Turn off device if not used for
-If on external power: Settings\System\Power\Advanced and check Turn off device if not used for

My issue with flashing ROMS isn't difficulty, it's having a definitive reason to do so, and finding a clear description of the changes in the ROM.
Thanks for the tip on installing manila 2.5. Didn't know that could be done. But looking at a comparison of 2.1 and 2.5, I don't see an advantage, and see a couple of disadvantages.

There is an EVO ROM that has a customizer built in by the cook. I used that ROM for a little while, but really like the customizer, you could change the flip clock, analog clock, clock background, font and other things. This was a really nice feature. I have searched for an add-on or standalone app that I could install that would do this as well. Customizing is the main thing we are ALL trying to do here.
Anybody had any luck with this?!
Good morning all,
I did a search on "widgets" and could not come up with what I was looking for so...
I was reading (and watching video) on "pocketnow.com." They showed that you could "long tap" an empty spot on the home page which would allow you to peruse, choose from, and download new icons/widgets for your HD2. They had some spiffy ones on there for mail and other.
Tried it and it did not work. Read into the comments section and they note that it is an andriod phone and may not work on a Tmo-WM-HD2.
Is there a way to get some nice new widgets for preinstalled programs (or other) without flashing the ROM or installing a new CAB?
I assumed there might be just like I can choose an icon on my Windows desktop.
Thanks in advance.
you could just install android or mobile shells.
yeah, like ddgarcia is saying, WM doesn't really have widgets, unless you use CHT/CHTE (which only has a very few available). Based on what you said, I would imagine that the video you were looking at was an android build with sense on it (so it looks rather similar to a WM build with sense).
Android and SPB Mobile Shell (a WM-based replacement for sense) are pretty much the only way to get widgets on to your home screen.
Mate, are you sure you were not looking at Co0kie's Home Tab 1.85?
I appreciate all the responses.
You are indeed correct, it was an android HD2.
I should have noted that.
I was hoping that perhaps so of the same functionality was possible with my TMO-HD2 (WM 6.5).
I have thought about installing Cookie's Tabs, but frankly I dig my stock HD2. I have been having some latency troubles lately, but I think there may be some "gun" in the system that my cleaner is not getting rid of (tmp files, etc.).
I need to clean her out and tune her up!
Thanks all.

Thanks all.

CHT 1.8 is awesome dude. The quicklinks you get make your phone twice as cool. It's like having an Android WM hybrid. Obviously there are a lot more apps out there for Android but functionality wise CHT makes this phone better...
You do know that you can load Android on your phone with minimal effort, right?
Mate, here is a wicked Android build for you; everything is working fine. This provides a fantastic experience with a Stock HTC Desire Froyo build (HTC Sense etc...).

Read the thread, download the ROM, read the instructions (simple 1,2,3 steps) and enjoy.
Cheers
While I appreciate the kind and well-intended responses...
