Hello Everyone!
I have just spent the better part of a week reading just about every thread on this and one other forum in hopes of finding some information on this topic.
Nomatter what I try, If I have a Bluetooth headset synced, and I press the Voice Dialer or Voice Search, or if I am in Car Mode, I am unable to speak into the Bluetooth Headset and get a response from my Nexus One. If I am close enough to the device, the mic on the phone will pick it up, but that is as far as it goes.
This feature doesn't seem to exist in Android, or on any of the Mod's I have seen/tried. Have I missed some greater obvious thing, or is this seemingly obvious feature missing?
it's the second most requested feature on google's forum. I would get you a link, but i'm on my mobile right now. i'd say it will be coming soon. i miss voice command, too...
I found what you were referencing. I guess primarilly I am shocked that this hasn't happened/ is a big enough deal that it hasnt shown up in App or Mod form already.

Okay, so I enjoy the fact that when I'm making a phone call I have a nice large button on the screen that lets me switch between speaker on/off.
What I would love, however, is a button that allows me to turn on/off my bluetooth hands free option. There is this ability if I hit menu and then select it from the list, but I'd prefer to have it as a nice big, easy to hit button on the screen.
Is there any dialers that have this?
Any answers to this, as I would dearly love it as well!
Are we alone?
You mean to say with almost 400 readers, Red & myself are the only ones with this request? Please, there has to be someone out there with the wherewithal to code this into a dialer?
Same here!
I'd like something like this as well.
A lot of people would like a feature like this. It's just others are either too lazy or too shy to show their support so you never know how many people might actually want this.
+1 from me. Just need the BT feature to turn off A2DP so when people call me while im listening to music i dont have to reject them.. then hit bt on my today screen and call them back.
I think it would be cool. I think a LOT of peoples issues with showing support is more based on the general philosphy of a lot of the threads here. Ie. if you cant say something productive or help somehow dont say anything. I follow that mostly, especially in threads about development of new programs. Unless I myself and trying it out and have a bug to report I tend to stay fairly quiet.
That's just my two cents on why so many people have read it and not said anything. Clearly if over 400 people have come here its probably because they thought they could try the dialer out!

Isn't it enough to push the green button on your handsfree device in order to transfer the call to that device while on call?

In short Sascha: No, well at least not with the Motorola headsets and car kit I use... sometimes this works, but more often than not it will hang up the call, even if the call hasn't been transferred to the Bluetooth unit, which is both frustrating and quite odd.
Hi All
Well this is another GPS App and my first so as people say "please be gentle".
I wrote this for my wife and me for when we are running or cycling.
The idea behind it was to know how fast, far, average speed and time travelled while listening to music without have to look at your phone. It basically says the info you want, the voice is a basic computer voice. It will also say any sms that come in while in use but it can only say words and numbers not any text speak but which I might be able to add later.
My biggest problem is because the voice isn’t particularly loud of clear I need to be able to pause the HTC music software while it’s speaking. If anyone knows how to do that please help I was hoping the pause button on the wired headphones might have a virtual key number but I haven't found it yet.
If I can get the above problem solved am hoping to add a lot of useful info to the display and to the spoken info such as a buddy runner based on a previous run or target settings.
In the setting menu the only item that’s functional at the mo is the repeat voice setting. As you may see the whole program is at a very early stage at the mo so again please be gentle.

Sir if you can find a way to pause or mute music with hardware button on wired earphones, You will make me really up...
hi can anyone help please, i updated to mango a couple of weeks ago, i was lucky enough to get the update,
ive put speech on so i can hear and say text messages, but how do i turn it on so that the callers name is announced?
For some unknown (and probably completely stupid) reason this option is disabled on the Omnia
ok thanks anyway
I'll bet its because the audio at that point isn't routed to bluetooth and for most, that would be the point.
One can hack it on yes. One must also be happy with USA display language. Not so great for this aussie here who wanted to hear the name of the caller whilst driving.
Further, one must have the ringer have turned on too...
Just not ready for primetime imho...but close.
Hey,
I'm running the 9505 s4 4.4.2.
For the first time since the nexus one I think I've run into an issue no android phone can get around.
I ride a motorcycle and picked up the Sena 20s Bluetooth headset.
This is my first Bluetooth headset and something I've waited over a year for.
The issue is the dedicated phone button to access your device through voice.
By default this button launches voice dialing on android instead of Google now.
With iPhone it launches siri.
I have tried to reassign the button to Google now but this only works if the device is not locked.
Is there any way around this?
Is there any device that will allow Google now to launch?
Any word if android 4.5 / 5.0 will fix this?
Perhaps a ROM that enables this?
Any advice is appreciated as I currently stand it is looking like iPhone is the only option.
Another option may be the motto x with active listening.
I've heard Google may make this available to all devices, but I was under the impression that this "always listening" is completely Dependant on hardware?
I have the same problem!
I have this exact same problem. Even when the phone is unlocked, google now is a bit spotty in loading when hitting the phone button.
Google did just release an update for Google Now that allows you to access google now from any screen, even the lock screen. That being said, the phone button on the Sena 20s STILL loads the phone dialer. The phone dialer is honestly not good and google now seems to be better to use for dialing people anyway. I wonder if we can submit a request to Sena to have this feature added. It's probably just the button calling up voice dialing instead of google now.
Try submitting a feature enhancement request, I might do the same.
I just recently switched back to Android after being a Windows phone user for the past couple of years. Getting back some apps that I haven't had has been great but one thing is driving me insane. Is there a way to get S-voice to function like Cortana? I know there is a Cortana app but it does not interact with my phone.
I wear a bluetooth headset about 90% of my working day and I really miss my phone reading me all incoming text messages as well as being able to voice dictate replies. Right now, have to go through the "Hi Galaxy" crap and it does not utilize my bluetooth at all. I can't just hit the button on my headset, say a name, and then have my phone call or text that person. I've been searching all over but can't find any results. I really like this phone but this alone has me ready to go back to my 950.
Have you tried using Google Now instead of s-voice. I don't think it will replicate Cortana, but it's more powerful than S-Voice.
