new to the whole theming world, but i am running cyanogen 5.0.5.1.....is there anyway to mod the lockscreen to be more like the droid where the slide to unlock is arched? or how about the app laucher...anyway to get the drawer style app launcher like the droid?
Hi,
you can try some app like Lock 2.0 or you can (try) get the arched lockscreen app and push it to your phone. If you have root.
I haven't tried lock 2 but lockbot pro is quite good, I think there is a lite version too.
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-jackdoit-lockbot-xjti.aspx
You can do several styles of lock screen (iphone, g1, hero, nexus)
and there is a downloadable list of custom screens and themes for each type.

Hi there,
Is it possible to just change the lockscreen background but leave the rest of the lockscreen the same?
I know that there are several applications which will provide an alternate lockscreen but I would much rather keep the original if possible.
Cheers.
I'd like to know this too. Even my HTC Tattoo could have separate wallpaper and lockscreen backgrounds. Why not on the desire?

At a guess it's something to do with the live wallpapers.
search the market for WidgetLocker.

lockbot is a good alternative, you get several styles of lock screen and all are customizable
Just installed Lockbot Free to check it out, not very impressed to be honest, the original lock screen appears for a couple of seconds before the Lockbot one which ruins the whole appearence.
Have I done something wrong or is this just how it is?
EDIT
OK, bought & installed WidgetLocker which seems much better. There is still a delay if you lock the phone & then turn the screen back on straight away where it shows the original lock screen but it is negligable. I haven't experimented with all the options yet but it seems pretty comprehensive.
just noticed the wildfire has the option to change lockscreen
I was curious if there was anyway to use a lockscreen other than the ones provided with CM7 (which is what I'm currently using). And where would I go about finding them?

There are but first learn to post in the general area if you have a question.
There is widget locker in the market as well as extracting the framework-res.apk and chamging lockscreen images and make a flashable zip.
Signatures are fancy.
Check out the WidgetLocker app. Its really awesome and well worth the price. When you buy it you will then be able to customize it and make the lockscreen change with themes other have made.
Heres a thread with some of the widgetlocker themes people are creating

Ill give it a look. Thanks for the quick reply.

Whenever I used widgetlocker, my cm7 lockscreen and the widgetlocker lockscreen would always interfere with each other...how did you get around that?
works ok for me, running CM7(RC2)
agree with others, Widget Locker is the best... and only $2

Thats why I stopped using it. Would get a hesitation using widget locker as it doesnt actually replace the stock lockscreen. It just seems to overlay it. What it appeared to be to me was that widget locker, being an app, had to load. So if it dropped out of Memory the phone had to reload it and it caused this stutter/hesitation between it and the actual lockscreen. Not that big a deal, but it gave the appearance that the phone was glitchy which I didnt like (i do everything i can to make the phone super smooth, no sense in installing an app that counters that, no matter how slight).
Now I just go with no sliders and use a gesture to unlock the phone and have another gesture to toggle sound. Super clean and confusing to whoever picks up the phone trying to be sneaky.

I'm liking the samsung galaxy s II but I don't like the lockscreen is there anyway I can change it to the cyanogen lock screen. Pref just by flashing it, i don't want to install any apps cause I've heard the 2 screens can clash.
Thanks in advance
Android Market Lockscreens /

try agile lock..is the screenlocker from htc sensation..you can find'it on market
+1 for Agile Lock.
Still the most versatile one is Widget Locker, it's not free
Regards.
Why Agile Lock over widgetlocker ?
I am trying to find which one to buy
Widget Locker for sure! purchase it.
The number of customizations are insane!
Are some of these lockscreens you get in the market like Widget Locker hard on your battery, ive read reports from people saying they were experiencing battery drain due to Widget Locker, personally i think the normal Sammy lockscreen is fine, it is only a lockscreen after all.

Widget locker battery behavior is fine for me on stock kf3 rom...not much of a difference between this and stock lock screen...as long as no heavy widgets are used on the lock screen...
im reading a lot of battery drains on the SGS2 for the latest version of widget locker, since it never goes to sleep like it should.
If you just want to change your background for your lock screen, try quickpic.

I ran a quick search, but didn't quite find what I was looking for, so here goes.
I'm looking for a way to display ALL notifications on my lockscreen. I use Talk and Trillian a lot and all of the lockscreen notification apps that I've looked at seem to limit you to Calls/SMS/GMail.
I've been using a combination of Widget Locker and Home Notifications Widget, to some success, but overall I've found it incredibly laggy.
Is there some App or lockscreen replacement that I've missed?
This is for my rooted milestone, CM7.

Hmm.
I don't know how much "notified" you want to be, you could try this app...
Pretty much I'm just looking for a list of my notifications on my lockscreen. More or less what's on the pulldown but available just... well, there when I power my screen on.
I've since upgraded - got a wild hare up my ass and bought an xt860 4G (Droid 3) - but I'm going to keep watching this thread because this is something that I'm still looking for.
Look for FlyScreen on Market.

Widget Locker
The app Widget locker is a very customize-able locker replacement application.
Google play description: WidgetLocker is a lock screen replacement that puts you in control of the look, feel and layout of your lock screen.
- Drag and Drop placement of Sliders, Android Widgets and App Shortcuts
- Sliders look selectable from built-in styles (Ice Cream Sandwich, Gingerbread, Sense and Sense 3, Motorola, iPhone, and Rotary) or from user-themes.
- Slider Actions can be customized, for example Slide-to-launch-Camera or Slide-to-call-your-Girlfriend.
- Resizable widgets and custom grid size
- Notification badges on apps/sliders via TeslaUnread ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.notifier )
- Customize which widgets/buttons are allowed or blocked at the lock screen
Portions of WidgetLocker are based on the excellent ADW.Launcher ( http://t.co/YvVMkGc ) by Ander Webb and friends.
