Customize lockscreens? - HTC Aria General

I was curious if there was anyway to use a lockscreen other than the ones provided with CM7 (which is what I'm currently using). And where would I go about finding them?

There are but first learn to post in the general area if you have a question.
There is widget locker in the market as well as extracting the framework-res.apk and chamging lockscreen images and make a flashable zip.
Signatures are fancy.

Check out the WidgetLocker app. Its really awesome and well worth the price. When you buy it you will then be able to customize it and make the lockscreen change with themes other have made.
Heres a thread with some of the widgetlocker themes people are creating
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=968613

Ill give it a look. Thanks for the quick reply.

Whenever I used widgetlocker, my cm7 lockscreen and the widgetlocker lockscreen would always interfere with each other...how did you get around that?

works ok for me, running CM7(RC2)
agree with others, Widget Locker is the best... and only $2

Thats why I stopped using it. Would get a hesitation using widget locker as it doesnt actually replace the stock lockscreen. It just seems to overlay it. What it appeared to be to me was that widget locker, being an app, had to load. So if it dropped out of Memory the phone had to reload it and it caused this stutter/hesitation between it and the actual lockscreen. Not that big a deal, but it gave the appearance that the phone was glitchy which I didnt like (i do everything i can to make the phone super smooth, no sense in installing an app that counters that, no matter how slight).
Now I just go with no sliders and use a gesture to unlock the phone and have another gesture to toggle sound. Super clean and confusing to whoever picks up the phone trying to be sneaky.

Ah great, Lockbot Pro does the job perfectly!
I use widget locker - not only does it have android/sense style lock it also lets you add widgets to the lockscreen

This is nice. Thank you for the info.
Tried the free version. It is thousand times better than the stock in SGS. Looks right, feel right, sounds right!
Edit: noticed that a soft reset disable it and I need to rerun lock 2.0. Is this the same for the paid version?
how hard would it be to make a update.zip to change the lock screen? and would it be possible to make an eclair like lockscreen with the touchwiz 3 music widget?
THAT be awsome

Thanks for this, loving my new widget locker.
It seems that Lock 2.0 is sometimes "killed" by the OS, and that means the lock that screen reverts back to stock. Is there a way to prevent that from being undone?
Sorry for just pushing this up, but im still looking for the stock lockscreen, maybe someone has found a way to use it already

Looking for lockscreen replacement!

Hi,
I'm looking for some good lock screen replacements.
Time of day, email/sms count, battery power, weather? would all be nice to have on a lock screen.
Prefer free but I'm willing to shell out a couple bucks if there aren't any free options.
Thanks!

Anyone know of any flashable lockscreens? Not apps. As I'm also quite bored of the drag down unlcoker.
widgetlocker is worth the money! couple of different unlocking styles + add any widget that you want... love it!
cheers

Agreed. Just bought WidgetLocker and it's well worth the two bucks.
Try lock 2.0 its pretty good... has a stupid iPhone lockscreen so you can tell your friends you have iOS
Does any of those programs replace HTCs answer/reject call screen? I usually reject the call when the phone is in my pocket.

Nope. No app from the market would be able to do that. You'd have to change rom for that. But even then its either sense down slide or vanilla across slide.
Widget locker has an option to hide the popup till you unlock. I haven't tested it but its there.

Is there anyway to get that "vanilla across slide" for sense rom. Atleast HTClocksreen.apk deletion doesn't work.

Nope, not unless a dev has removed ALL of the sense lockscreen, which most dont, and replace with the vanilla.
However, I think someone posted on here about adb pushing the vanilla lockscreen (rotary or slide) to sense roms. Not sure if it replaces the call slider but might be worth a try.

Thanks for the info.
Widgetlocker has gives you rotary locksreen among others but it doesn't affect on call slider
With widget locker is there a way to prevent the default lock screen from popping up first?
I purchased it last night but the delay where the default lock screen shows up first is pretty disappointing.

Thats what I was saying. No apps will change the call slider. Hence why I said to try the adb push method.
Search the forum for the adb push vanilla/rotary lockscreen as that might change the call slider.

any devs out there that know how or are maybe interested in a way... I would be willing to donate for something like that and I am sure others would too....
MikFroyo 4.4 has it if you flash the rotary lockscreen mod. I'm using it right now. He adds an app to set up patterns or gestures, then you can disable the slide lock, and have an only gesture lockscreen.

I assume that is not something I can flash over my CM rom? Let me know if that is not the case, but thanks, this is on the right track.

Looking for lockscreen app

im looking for the lockscreen app, like the "pure" android where you slide the bar to to the right. like the htc g2.
I dont wanna buy a lockscreen app from the market.
I got the apk.file for widgetlocker lockscreen but it force closes because it knows i didnt purchase it.
Help me find what im looking for or bypass the widgetlocker lockscreen forceclose thingy please?
Unfortunately, Widgetlocker is the only application I know of to change your lockscreen. No offense to you but you probably sideload a lot of Apps to your phone, knowing all the money you have saved in the past, what's the harm in purchasing ONE app for a change?
Switch to a gingerbread rom like cm it has a lockscreen configuration page. But asking for help with your wares, I'd say is a little iffy.

We aren't to discuss warez on XDA and some developers have taken the option to encode their apps with protocol to verify the legitimacy of the apps

If you want to have an aosp lock screen just go into the system and delete the lockscreen.apk you get the stock lockscreen but there have been known issues of there being transparency. You can see the homescreen even though the lockscreen is there.

Widgetlocker/lockscreen

So what kinda lockscreen u guys using? widgetlocker or normal? Plus what theme do you guys use on widgetlocker or on normal lockscreen (metamorph)
widgetlocker lock screen
i used widget locker is great alternative locker android phone it gives you many feature
I use the stock one. I did use widgetlocker, but it has a lag between pushing the power button and appearance of the lockscreen. And I started hating it afther a wile, somethimes the lag was so worse that you could press the unlock button, unlock the phone with the standard (htc)lockscreen and hit the homescreen and then had to unlock widgetlocker because it was to slow.
The standard android homescreen doesn't look very good tough, the sliders are to big. But I'm more or less trying to find out what can be done to make it look good.

Stock froyo it looks like htc didn't do an effort to make the standard lockscreen look good
It is possible to make them all right again, but you have to flash an other framework, which I find realy ugly
So I tought to substract the right files of that "new" framework and put them in the stock framework, but its harder then I tought but I'll continue when I have the time!
