Hi guys,
Is there a program or something that would work as an "alt+tab" function on HTC HD 2? It would be very useful when trying to switch between multiple opened applications.
AS well, is there any way you can make the G Sensor work with any program on the HTC?
How do I add a reset button if there is one?
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer!
Click the "x" ?
That will not close the application you use.
U can use taskfacade or arkswitch.

Hey Guys, I just recently baught the T-mobile MDA and am looking for the OK/close button freeware mentioned in this review http://www.brighthand.com/default.asp?newsID=12194 Can anyone direct me to where I can find it?
This site is incredible but I'm having a hard time locating this program.
Sounds like they're talking about Smartskey It double duties the soft keys as start and ok/close+more.
Here's a dedicated thread for Smartskey which has download links for the app...

I agree with vijay - use that combination small and sweet! No glitches at all

You have to install it in the main memory or in the storage memory and it should start on it's own (provided you have enabled the Auto Start option in its settings. If you install it in the storage card, you will probably need to start it manually.
Aveek
I use vbar

on my device it all happened automaticly. IF you tap&hold the X or OK in the left top corner of the screen you should see it getting active. tap&hold again ans magic button goes away
I still have not found the perfect task closer/manager. I have used several, but am still searching for the perfect application. The following are my criteria for the idea solution:
1.) Small. This is one of the only applications in main memory for speed/stability, so I want is small
2.) I want the WM5 icons. I like the square X and do not want any extraneous icons for settings (i.e. vbar). Essentially, I do not want to know the application is running.
3.) Task switcher. Ideally, i would tap and hold on the X to get a drop down with all the open apps that I can then switch to.
That is it, nothing extra. All the Wisbar derivatives (vbar, magic button) have extra icons for the settings. The two closest candidates for perfect closer/manager I have come across are wClose by Rui Goncalves and tMan by jasnapaka.com. wClose is only 8k  and uses WM5 icons, but no task switcher. tMan has a great task switcher and is small, but uses a dot instead of WM5 icons. I am currently using wClose. My 2 cents.
Hi to all,
I have a question....
On Blackstone we have two custom buttons the home button and the back arrow button
now pressing the home button is like go to desktop in normal windows terminology.
But are we able to change the back arrow button to toggle (alt+tab) between applications.
i mean it partially does that when appication are on the screen but it doenst do anything when applications are running in background..like for e.g. say...i have explorer and wmplayer open then i press the home button..they ll be minimized in the taskmgr but back arrow is not usable in this case.
I think that ll make life very eazy for ppl who have bunch of applications running and needs to switch between them...as the taskmgr on the main screen is usually slow responding and again it saves clicks...if u know wat i mean..
thanx to everyone in advance..
Check MobileMagic, you can do that with this tool as far as I remember.

Check out WkTask - it display all running apps on the top bar the way Windows does on the taskbar on the PC! Just tap one of the icons and you switch to that app!
Hi guys ..thanks for the replies...tried both of the softwares ...MobileMagic..is not able to offer taskswitch function...and wktask is gr8 but messes up my keyboard font...its strange..any workaround ? i am using htc full qwerty keyboard.
Just download Spb PocketPlus, install it, go to the installation folder, find the file called AltTab.exe, save it.
You can uninstall P+ then and assign the "Back" button to launch AltTab.exe. But you will need AEButton+
This is how I live with my Touch HD

I guess I remembered it incorrectly, Alt+Tab action does not exist in MobileMagic, it is available in AE Button Plus.
Also there is no need for the AltTab.exe of SPB Pocket Plus, AE Button Plus is enough to accomplish this.
However, AltTab.exe might provide a better user experience, I will try it anyway.
Try TaskFacade!

That's odd... What exactly is getting messed-up? Could you upload a screenshot?
I've never had any problems using WkTask - and I have used it on pretty much every ROM I had on my HD!
BTW: I use the same keyboard you are using... no problems!
I've tried TaskFacade but it crashes on me ALOT and I can't seem to map it very well with AEButton.I wanted to map it to long 'Back' but it never works.
I don't have a HD (yet), so I don't know if this will work for sure...
But I use a little free app called HButton on my XDA Orbit (Artemis?), which allows as many functions as you like on one button (by holding the button down until the required function/app appears).
This also includes a task switcher function.
Worth a try.
Hi Guys thanx for the replies again...
by messed up i mean the text on the htc sip keyboard is like times new roman in normal (not bold tahoma) and it looks ugly...i have tried removing the application and it still is the same...can anyone upload the default font cab
thanx
Hello Windows mobile expert,
I am tryin to stop the G sensor from working on my topaz.
It always flips when i dont want it to. And when i remove
from my pocket it's always horizontally, and i need to wait
like 20 seconds before he flips, in the meantime device is
totally blocked, i can't even pick up my phone, as you can
believe this is EXTREMELY annoying. You can not imagine....
I don't like the sensor. And i don't want it ever to work, Anywhere
or any program. Not even in opera.
I would be very happy and thankfull if you could help me do this.
Kind regards
Gino
On TF3D go to settings-G-sensor, and deactivate it.
Cheers.
About the program
Hello and thank you for you're comment,
the program you mention is only for touch diamond but not
for Topaz.
Are there any other programs that can stop this rotation?
Kind regards
Gino
ark666 is correct.
From the "main screen", go to settings (with TF3D, move your finger to the out most left), go down the list and select G-Sensor. From there you can activate and deactivate the G-sensor.
Would be very useful to me too. Thanks

Just do as I just wrote.
Sorry. I am using Mobile Shell. So I can just calibrate my G Sensor but not deactivate it ???
Thanks.
The UI bit that people are talking about sets the following reg setting:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor]
"AutoRotation"=dword:00000002
The value is 1 beforehand and, strangely, 2 when it's set to off.
I remember to have read many weeks ago of a small applet or application which allows auto pinc zoom, zoom in and out (with two fingers) in ANY windows and ANY HD2 application...
I cannot find the link or the relative post (I tried several key words on google and on xda-develoeprs).
Can someone point me to the right download link or right post?
2.
Same for auto-shutdown: there must be a small application or applet which allows the device to restart, WITHOUT ADDITIONAL WARNING messages or windows.. I would appreciate if someone can point me this link too
Thanks
saulo866
Look for BSBtweaks which lets you add any program to pinch to zoom and auto rotate.
3rd question:
I used to try several "rotation applications" (to go from portrait to landscape and vice- versa) on my old HD 1. Which one in your opinion works best in HD 2?
I run this cooked ROM: 2010 10 11 3v5y Lite (NO HTC apps, bare windows appls)
thanks a lot Samuel!
and any suggestions for the second question? I mean the "shutdown now" applet which does not require any confirmation messages?
Thanks
Saulo

I'd (obviously) recommend PLToggle
You can find it in my signature.
Thanks John
And what about the applet to perform a soft reset WITHOUT any additional messages?
Thanks
Saulo
I cannot find PLToggle in your web link...and anyway I believe it is NOT for rotate the device...am I wrong?
Thanks
Saulo
thanks to your suggestions I have discovered two useful applications which solved my problems:
BsB Tweaks (for rotation and autopinch)
QuickMenu > to replace the standard icon-based menu with the original wm6.0 style start menu
Now I have a third wish: when I long-press tha OFF button a screen appears with these options
Power Off
Lock Device
Set Vibrate
Terminate Data Connection
I would like to have a new button: RESTART (or Soft Reset).
Is it possible? Is there any cab available?
Thanks
Saulo

Mate - PLToggle, in my signature just below. It IS for rotating the display, but not auto-rotation. It just does it when YOU want to do it, not when you turn the device.
1. Can the sense UI be somehow positioned into landscape mode with a .cab?
2. How do you get into the registry? All visible is HKM? no HKLM files found anywhere...
3. How to search for specific threads under one phone on xda.

1. Yes, use attached cab. It will rotate the display when you rotate the phone into portrait. I only know this to be working on the HD2.
2. What registry editor are you using?
3. Navigate to the forums for that model, and any of the subforums there that apply to your question, and then use the "search this forum" button in the top right, immediately above the list of threads.
Thanks ALOT, you dont know how much this helps, also i am using RESCO for registry, but i think i found a youtube video for that. Thanks alot, if i could award you something i would, (if there is, please do tell as well) (like a thumbs up, or +karma, or whatever this site may use if any)

ok so for the landscape cab, do i need a soft reset, and would you happen to know if cookies home screen mod works with the hd2 landscape? also, how do i find this app in the start menu, when i soft reset my phone, nothing happened when i switched my phone to landscape, any ideas?
I'm afraid that I have no idea if this works or not alongside of co0kie's mod. A soft reset after running the cab should be all you needed to get the rotation working, there's no app to run (or icon for it) after that, it just runs in the background.
You can try one more soft-reset (I think mine took 2 to kick in), and I would also go into settings and calibrate your g-sensor if you haven't already.
Also...are you rotating it the right way into landscape? so that the hardware buttons end up to the right of the screen? This cab will only do the rotation in that direction, and back.
I'm afraid the only officially-sanctioned expressions of gratitude here are the ones issued by the treasury...but this small bit of assistance isn't even worth the time it would take, so your words do the job just fine Pay it forward (here at xda, if possible!)
FYI:
It does work with co0kie's mod but it replaces some of the menu items while in landscape. I can definitely live with that, thank you for the awesome app.

You're very welcome, glad it's working for you
For anyone that hasn't seen that tweak before, you'll want to check out the thread I found it in, there's a bunch more very useful stuff in there:
